NM - umm, I think I recognize some of those garments... what happens at HTL stays at HTL! Glad you had a good time last night with friends.

The wiener-dog's badness level was pretty high yesterday and he didn't sleep last night. He ended up in my bed (has to be in someone's bed and DD needed sleep) and squirmed all night. Now he is sleeping. Think I'll take a nap...or get some more coffee... nap or coffee? Since I have to study and it's raining, I guess it's coffee.

OMG, NM, ROFLMAO!! But I'm so jealous of AStorm cuz she had pwetty undies and all mine look like this...undies

So my rad apt was really rad and I have good news...the radiation oncologist agreed with the medical oncologist - wow! what a moment. So it is official now, I will start my suntan between the second to last and last chemo rounds. I go for my suntan simulation in Oly next Wed and start tanning on Nov. 16th.rad I get 33 tans with some # I forgot toward the end which is a super duper booster tan right to the naughty little spot that started this whole fun adventure. So that means my ta ta will be as fried as my brain and I will be done with chemo Dec 6 and with the rad rad by end of Dec. And what's really good is my insurance will cover it (this year!!). [Do you want the bad news? Okay, close your eyes if you don't... the bad news is next Tues I have to start CMF for 2 weeks again (#5 of 6 fun runs). Crud! ]

And what's really really really good news is that by New Year's Eve I will be able to drink so so so many dog beers!!!

    dog beer

Hu hu hu hu, can't wait, can't wait, can't wait, hu hu hu hu!

cHairs my dEars, and then then prayer, and now BARMEN!!!!

NM, good pics.  I was laughing a good bit last night, and still this morning.  I love this bar.  I can't tell what the wiener has.....a calculator?  I didn't know the wiener could process numbers.  Goodness...your durn dog is smart too AStorm?  Got a call out of the blue this morning from PS.  Now he wants an ultrasound of my hernia repair area.  He thinks there could be a problem maybe....possibly an alien in there.  I have had ultrasounds of my legs before after surgery, but I hope this doesn't take that long, and I hope nothing is wrong.  Also, going to gyno for exam and have been booked for surgery to clean out the garage (onco recommends) in December.  It isn't set in stone yet....but may become Reelalleyti as Bean would say.  My catastrophic is met so it will save me enough money to buy you all your drink of choice and, if you wish, a new pair of panties....LOL!  So glad it is Friday!  Whew...long week!  Course, I am nervous about ultrasound now.  No need to load up the bus, but I sure don't wan't more problems.  Hope to see somebody at the lounge tonight!  cHairs....HD

I've had several US's and they warnt painful at least, sure hope yours warnt B. Cr4p 2 the garage surgery too. But best to keep on top of all this, you are a super trooooper. Glad your catastrophic (like mine) has been met, that's a relief. Sounds like we both have fun December plans, aaarrgghh! I love your pic, your hair looks so pwetty and you look slim and fit for gardening - LOL! I see you have your hose ready, is that for sucking up the Hair of the Dog or the Silk Panty from last night still? That corgi is a smart character, looks like he's using an iPad to call for more dog beers. Do you think turkey will still taste weird by Christmas? Do you think I'll be able to drink anything besides crystal light ever??? Well onward and upward, let's get on our boots and slog through this muck...more prayers (that I don't remember) and more hoots to the BARMEN!!! We need drinks fast! And it is happy hour!! Get those drinks rolling!!!

My hose is to hook up to that one DOTD NM posted that came out of a spigot!  I hope there is still some left.  Your turkey will be just wunnerful if your gravy is good!  I would have at least a nice glass of vino also.  Even if it tasted bad.  I am getting hungerd.  I won't be a loner tomorrow.  I think DH will be home.  Kathy...where are you?  Whoops, shhhh, you could be asleep, so I won't yell.  Sorry you had the crappy hour phone call.  I hate that too!  When is Lori coming back.  I have never had a vacation this long in my life.  Can someone in this bar tell me what I'm getting into with a garage clean out?  I really don't want to start googling tonight.  It will spoil happy hour.  Let's kick it up a notch.   Junie, come out and play!  HD

Beanius - thinking of you! You all are just so amazing. Thanks to all for the support and kindness!

So finally heard back from Sean's teacher and now they are saying he didn't get picked up till after he is normally home- so now can't do to much about it.... Will be keeping awfully close tabs....

So tried to do something for myself and for a lovely friend I haven't seen in 12 years since she moved away - well we were going to try to get away for Christmas . Her Dad and Step Mom both died within months of each other and she been having a rough time. Oh shoot, this computer is doing odd things - have I said this already!??? Well anyway my SO just acted awful once again so we are once again not together and no have no one to take care of my  wonderful pets! Ugh! Just too much sometimes! Do you all feel like this sometimes?

Also trying to grow grass and well, I can't even figure that out. Happy drinking some wine and watching a movie! My son with DS will need a root canel - not good as he freaks with any noise here is so... can't imagine.

Beanius - hope things go well!!! I so sometime wish the HTL was for real even for a short time.... sigh....

Stanzie....I am sorry you are down.  I do very much know the feeling.  I hope your son has a dentist that can do the IV twilight drugs.  There are so many new dentist offices offering that service in my area, an.  I had a root canal and it IS just a long noise proceedure.  Also, I know about crying in the shower, crying at work, crying in the kitchen, etc...always trying to hide it.  Sometimes you cant.  Hugs from me...I know I seem pretty corny on here most of the time but I care so much for all of you!  HD

I told my doctor today that I know I look like I had 2 bottles of vodka for breakfast and 10 the night before, but I didn't really. He laughed. You ladies have saved what sanity in me there was to save. I am so grateful and even though I'm corney (like HD (j/k)) I care so much about you all too...where is Kathy and AStorm and nM, and tori, and junie and goldie. Yeah, wtf long old smoochy vacation with her DH...wow. I haven't been able to kiss like that since jr hi - tee hee!

Beans....we are the only party animals tonight.  That is a pretty cool pic.  I don't have a costume prepared.  I can't even eat candy.  I will be thinking about a costume though.  I have time for that.  I haven't carved a punkin for 15 years I'll bet.  The too-old tricker treaters that come often times smash them on my porch and it irritates me.  Happy weekend...your friend...abby....abbynormal.

Only because I was out partying at the Tasting Room.

And sending a couple of celebratory bottles of great wine to my friend who just had the tough deal of having to choose between TWO fab jobs.  She is starting November 1.

Then a couple got engaged, so had a round of champagne.

Now, to cook dinner post PAR-TAY so I get some real nourishment in my system.

Beans.....you will be done sooner than you know it.  Within two months, you will be celebrating with REAL beer or wine.

Yeah! We got Claire and Chrissy back!!

Claire - sounds like you had a fun time. Thanks again for the encouragement, I really need it thru Dec as for my last chemo I'll be doubling down with rads for the first 3 week - yikes! I keep telling myself, this too shall pass.

chrissy - wow! 3 week holiday...that's so nice of you to take care of things for your sis...and hope your visit with DD1 was fun...I'm always so glad to get back home after a trip. I miss my DH too...he is winterizing our mountain place for snow and minus 10, 20 , 30 temps coming up out there, but he's joining me tomorrow eve. As HD said I've gone coastal where it just doesn't get that cold or snowy - going to finish up chemo and rads by end of Dec here - whew!

AStorm - what's that corgi up to now?

Well it's vodka and cheerios time here, so will be looking for mid-day drinks soon and then on to happy hour all night long. Let's celebrate is so right. Life is good and every moment is special. Now for my coffee and kahluah, yummy!!

Ooooo Beans, coffee and Kahluah that sounds divine.  Do you drink hot or cold.........either would taste good I think.

DH has been batching while I've been away and he's only recently learnt how to cook but during our phone calls he has told me what he has been eating and it has included veg........that really surprised me............I believe I taught him well............time will tell.  At least I know that he will know how to feed himself reasonably well when I'm no longer around.

    Enjoy the weekend all!

I could swear I was here last night but I don't see a post! Hmm.Maybe I was unconsious and just dreaming about the HTL. Fun panty party -- or was that Thursday? It's a blur. Frankly I cannot remember last night at all. .. excpet maybe vaguely remeber taking DD to the bank to open an account with her first paycheck (at closing time) and then buying her a new wallet which cost me more than her whole paycheck... and thinking about going back and buying her that keychain she liked even though it is overpriced and will mean that I need to buy a gift for her sister as well...

Corgi is doing really well! We had a serious flea infestation and one of my cats is allergic (he's practically hairless!). I determined that the problem was the corgi... apparently fleas like to attack older dogs, especially when they are ill. Did everything in my power to irradicate the fleas and then found fleas on her again 2 days later. Had to spray her with an herbal concoction cuz you can only give them so much Frontline (what a waste of money that was). Everyone is flea-free for now and the cat's hair is beginning to grow back.

     ... what's not to love?

Now I am battling with the school over DD's letter of truancy. She only has one abscence for the semester and the rest are errors caused by the school counselor's inability to do anything right. I have email correspondence documenting her many failures yet DD was supposed to go to Saturday detention today. She went to work instead but I couldn't sleep last night because I kept dreaming about police coming to the house to drag her to detention... was going to take her to breakfast before work just in case they came for her but didn't get up until 10AM and she was on her way to work...  AHHHH! Here they come! Hope they let me finish my coffee and Kahlua before they throw me in the slammer for being the slacker mom of a truant!

Oh now I remember... I went to a bookstore/cafe for dessert with DH last night. They have good coffee and who doesn't love a bookstore but they have terrible desserts and I don't mean that in a good way. Last night all they had were some very old vegan cookies and a couple of dried out muffins. Come on, if I'm going to eat dessert it needs to be really good! Not sure why DH can't remember same thing happened last time we went there for "dessert".

DH just went to the beach. He'll be back "in a couple of hours" and will clean the entire house in 30 minutes before his friends come over to watch the game.  I'm no Marge!

Chrissyb - my DH was eating steamed veggies and dry chicken with Ms. Dash when I met him. Now he calls for pizza if I don't cook. But honestly, if I lived by myself right now I'd probably have ice cream and vodka for dinner! I used to love fizzy something (like club soda) over ice cream... always wondered what champagne and sorbet would be like but I'd hate to ruin good champagne.

Yes, the wiener dog is using a calculator... bit of a challenge not having thumbs and all. He helps me study sometimes.

Chrissy, welcome back!  I know that is a good feeling to be home.  I am expecting my DH home today maybe after a week and a half.  There will be a quite a pile of laundry.  AStorm, if I hurt your feelings by saying that is the ugliest cat I have ever seen, I'm sorry.  I hope that isn't really yours.  I know the officers were just a dream...but if they saw that cat....they would be gone.  It really frightened me...LOL!  Hope you get the fleas under control.  We use something on our old poochie from the vet that you just sqeeze down her neck once every 6 months.  Maybe it's frontline, dunno.  We only use it during tic season.  She doesn't seem to get the fleas.  My DH might come back with them although. Wow, the beach.....it is pouring rain here....we might have a small wave coming in if it doesnt stop.  Last nights party was purty sparse.  Maybe tonight will be better?  Monday will be here too soon.  Later gals!  Hunkyd

Hi guys - better today even went out and planted pansies! Liesl got to chase the pool cleaner, "Dewey! - so she was happy!

Love the Halloween picture Beans! Sean still wants to go Trick or Treating but he hates candy... so?? My other two want to just answer the door, problem is we only get a few real trick or treaters then have to turn off lights so the scary big kids don't show up.

Astorm, oh that is just horrible - poor dogs, poor cats!So perhaps my eyes aren't doing well, I thought the picture was supposed to be the Corgie?

Astorm- why would they be so hard on your daughter about absenses or I'm I just not with how things work now?

Chrissy - what a great vacation - sounds like you are a great pet sitter - too bad you are half way across the whole world! I would love to know what tricks you used to get your hubby to eat and cook veggies! Impressive.

Claire - sounds like you had a great night!

So glad everyone is at the mahvelous par-tay!!!  I am off in an hour to a Bicycle Alliance benefit UNDER the tray.  Hoping I don't spill drinks on a major donor.

Just ate lunch so I don't scarf down the appetisers I will be passing.

Major triumph.  Did a group ride earlier with a group normally a lot faster than I am and kept up with the group!!!   AND we got some great weather......an area of sunshine between coastal storms.  I can tell my energy has come up another notch in the past couple of weeks.

Beans.....was thinking about you as I did my post ride soak.  Will be tough doing radiation as you finish chemo, but at the end, you will be thrilled to be done.  I started radiation, had my port out and started Arimidex the same week and I was fine.

Your oncologist wouldn't be suggesting this if they didn't think you could handle it.  You will probably feel slammed for a couple of weeks, and then your energy level will be back up.  And you will be DONE!!!!

Now there's one I will drink to.

Claire, I don't know where you get your energy from.......what on earth is your secret?........What ever it is I want some as I find it so hard to even get enough energy to clean the house sometimes.

Stanzie, I think that the reason he cooked veg and ate it was because that's what we eat a lot of and he really does enjoy them.  The very first cooking lesson for him was how to prepare and steam veg and how to cook and mash potatoes.  Maybe there was method in my madness when I decided to teach him as the most he could do prior was make a piece of toast.  I told him that at some stage he was going to have to cook to feed me as I would not be able to so I think his willingness to cook healthy is in preparation.  Where we live, there is no take away food shops so we have to cook, no choice.  Perhaps if we lived in a larger town he would also call for pizza.

Astorm,  your poor fur babies.....there is nothing worse than seeing them scratch and scratch from the irritation of the biting fleas.  So glad you managed to get them clear of them.

Hunky, hopefully I will be around when the partay begins tonight.  Any particular delectable drink on the menu?

    Take care all!

hd - no, it's not really my cat. He does look pretty bad tho. Not sure why DD is having so much trouble at school with that counselor but I think it has something to do with it being a bureaucratic public school where they have lost sight of their true purpose and just want everyone to blindly follow rules... like forsing a senior to attend Freshman classes for 2 weeks while they figure out how to change her schedule in the computer instead of doing the logical thing -- have her attend the classes she will be enrolled in (which is what she did). Apparently sitting in the wrong classroom and being counted like an object is more important to her education than going to her real classes, at least in the counselor's mind (assuming she has one, which is generous on my part).

Spent the whole day studying so now I'm ready to party! Where is everyone?

I'm ready to party big time!! Laughed my A$$ off at AStorms pobre gatto...what a sight! I totally enjoyed your post today, funnEEE as heck they way you tell a story. I am sorry about the nightmare cops and DD and the fleas, but you do tell it so well! Hope all gets resolved.

chrissy - that is cool you are teaching DH to cook for himself, good too he likes veggies, they are so healthy...my DH can cook in a pinch and does great with tacos and grilled cheese and chef salads. Much else and he needs help, like tonight he called to ask how to cook the frozen pizza I bought for him. So cute!

HD - glad your DH will be home, maybe that's where you are tonight? Good luck with the laundry. So what kinda poochie do you have and can he/she do the calculator thing too like the weiner dog? It's been pouring rain here too and to awful to get out for exercise. Hope you have a fun rest of da weekend, Monday comes too fast...Then Tues for me and another Seattle trip - yuck - O!

Stanzie - glad you are feeling better today...wasn't that the funniest panty post???? And I can just see Liesl chasing the pool cleaner - so funny! Glad your pup is doing better too.

Claire - thanks again for the encouragement! chrissy is right, where do you get all that energy from - send some here please - maybe an energy drink. I do think I will get kinda whalloped by my December plans, but I will lean on DH and my friends here to get through it. Then my old Dad lived to be 93 so I have some kind of fightin' genes from him to get me through. He was really tough, had all his teeth and was still walking within just days of his passing in great health except some kind of COPD/ pneurmonia thing got him, oh yeah and some senility, which I think I'm already getting!

So let's party now, it's way past happy hour and wahine hasn't been by...where are all the other girls??

I'm just having a big old bottle of merlot tonight with tortellini al pesto. Anyone wanna join me?

Hugs to you all ~ Bean Brain

Thanks, Beanie. Glad you appreciate my sense-o-humor. It's just my way of talking myself down off the roof.

Maybe we need a little sumpin-sumpin to lure wahine back to the bar...

    Blue Hawaii anyone?

Scale ingredients to servings 1 oz light rum
    1 cherry
    2 oz pineapple juice
    1 oz Blue Curacao liqueur
    1 oz cream of coconut
    1 slice pineapple

Blend light rum, blue curacao, pineapple juice, and cream of coconut with one cup ice in an electric blender (as opposed to a non-electric blender?)
