Stanzie, It was AStorm and not me, that had a dog with Cushing's Disease....I had never heard of it before. But I know this is an emotional time and tooooo hard to keep up with everyone's posts! I find it hard during normal times....lol. Seems like you have mentioned several times about being disappointed in your *SO*....and I guess his true colors will show during times of stress. All I can tell you is....."DON'T SETTLE"....you deserve the best!

We need to keep he percotini and steroid fountains going!!! Pants dear, can you refill my drink, please? I am toooo lazy right now to even move. Maybe a straw would help too....LOL.

Awww Stanzie...I am so sorry.  I do so know the feeling.  It was first time I saw my DH cry when we put our first dog down.  Still can't stay dry eyed even thinking about it.  I am hoping you don't have that challenge for a long time and can keep her quality of life up!  Not to change subject...but my security blanket got taken away from me today....my onc left the practice.  I have to find a new onc and that will be either 1.5 hours or 4.5 hours from here.  I was crushed.  No warning, his nurse was tearing up when she told me.  Bad part is...he is the one recommended my next surgery in a month.  Now I don't know how insurance will handle this.  Cheers and tears for Stanzie!  HD

Geez HD...that sucks! Did he leave the medical profession or just leave the practice he was with? Is there a chance he is joining another practice? Or is his new area, one of the long drives you mentioned? I would think your ins would still cover another onc...if this is a surgery that is needed, then it should be covered. I had changed PS's less than a wk b4 my bilat mast, and even though I had even done the preop at a different hosp, the ins covered the new PS, new hosp charges, etc. But I know you hate having to find another one that you trust. That isn't fun at all. Maybe we need to get drunk!

Beans, where are you??? I miss your silly posts, and with some of the gals here going thru some stressful times, I think humor would help. Hope you are feeling ok after that chemo!

I'll ride with you HD....I'll even drive! My docs are 4 hours away, so no biggy to me.

Lord...........get Junie away from the Steroid fountain!

Must finish up my packing today. I guess my daughter is leaving for V.I. the same time I come back. Supposedly her husband already has a job! How does one do that? It must not require much. Pooper Scooper maybe? I certainly wouldn't hire someone without meeting them.

    Who let the pumpkins drink?

Oh no Lori, that is sooooo funny....never seen pumpkins puke b4....they must be having tx for bc! Hope you have a great trip, and safe travels tomorrow. Yeah, weird that your SIL got a job "sight unseen"...but like you said, pooper scooper work does not take much!.Maybe if he had to submit a photo,he used that one of the dog pooper scooper.....lol. Let us know when you find out what the job really is. When are you coming back home? Hope you can post here while you are gone, but the most important thing is to spend as much time as possible with your DD!!!

Good morning girls! Hope today will be a good one. Its rainy here and looks gloomy, so maybe I will look up one of those storm drinks from a few pages back (NOT the tornado one though!). Can someone post a nice "Bon Voyage" drink for Lori???? Here's to happy drinks for all.........

    BARMEN!

YUMMY (ONO in Hawaiian!) drink chrissy....I loooove champagne and strawberries, but this way sounds better with the strawberries pureed, so the flavor is throughout. Way to start the day, and to wish Lori a great trip!!!!!

It's okay, chrissy. It builds suspense. And YUM - definately worth waiting for.

Lori - have a great trip! Don't worry, the TT's will clean up the drunkin pumkin mess.

Kathy - sorry you have icky weather... come hang out at the lounge instead. Unfortunately I have to drive into San Francisco this afternoon. It is GIANTS parade day. I'm going for unrelated reasons but I'll still have to deal with the traffic. I am soooo not a city person. My DD wants to go to school there and she doesn't plan to take a car even though she's pretty fearless.

More reason to PAR-TAY.  Mammo results are in and all is just fine!!!  They took magnified views just to be sure.

Goldie....you were right about the "grin".  Still have it.  Probably should wipe it off prior to the informational interview I am doing this afternoon.

The most glorious day here in Seattle.  Snow capped peaks of the Olympics were spectacular in the sunrise.  I am getting antsy for ski season now.  Only got out once last winter....snow conditions, not chemo, were the reason believe it or not.

I think I like strawberries and cream.....but a glass of champagne with it all.  Or just a nice glass of rose champagne.  Of course, I can always open the bottle I have in my stash.  This might be just the excuse. - Claire

    Safe travels Lori and AStorm!

    Congratulations Claire and Thank goodness!!!

So, finally got a call from the doctor. Originally they told me I could pick her up at 2:00 now not till 5:30pm. I'll be much happier once she is home. Sounds like she was under longer and they did more biopsies. She said no glaring signs of cancer but won't know till the biopsies are back which won't be till next week. She said there was a large amount of pigmentation on her escogophus which she said was odd so took biopsies of that along with some areas in her tummy. She aslo said there was inflamation in her tummy.

So, today was dreadful, I kept driving in the area hoping I could go and pick her up. Pouring here so Kathy we got your storms.

Love the DOTD - may have to stop and get Champagne just to celebrate having her back and out of anesthesia!

Lori - too weird about SIL getting a quick job in this economy..... hmmm?

Claire, YAY for good, clear results! Time to open that champagne!!!

AStorm, Would love to lounge at our lounge today, but did inside painting today, in prep for the wood flooring installation to start tomorrow...then found some small things I need to get b4 they start, so have to run errands in this rain. Yikes....I would hate to drive in SF too...esp with the traffic expected....hope you don't run into any problems! I do NOT like driving in city traffic either.

Stanzie, Sorry you have the rain too....I promise I didn't sent it...told it to down to the gulf and out to sea, but it didn't listen to me! Hope you get to pick up Liesl soon....and that she will be ok after the anesthesia.

Will drop back into the HTL for drinks at Happy Hour! Chairs!

Strawberries and champagne, that sounds wunnerfull!  Let's pull Beanie out of the percotini fountain for a little bit and see if this drink helps the percotinis work better.  At least we need to send someone to make sure she's floating face up and not face down in the fountain. . .

Stanzie--I'm imagining a lowvely little hide-a-way for Leisl to recover in, where she can get a massage

Have you gotten through this without a port?  I am trying to so I am anxious to hear of others who are successful....

Woo hoo! Almost done for Beans!  Drink up!   I made enough for all of us - Kickass Punch - but somehow it is not transferring - drink it anyway, I promise it is good.

    Hi Beans....

So glad to hear from you, and by the time I got to next to last (11 of 12), I was sooooooooo done.

For all.....interview was fine, but more work than I had wanted to get to the next stage career-wise.  So glad that the person I interviewed with wants to help.  I will get there.

Stanzie.....so glad Liesl is home.  Give her a major hug for me.

Worth noting that I 'fessed up during the informational interview and talked about being out of action because of kick butt breast cancer treatment.  I needed to explain why it was only now that I was seriously looking.  Sounded a lot better than some of the other possibilities I could think of (such as rehab).  The guy didn't blink an eye and we talked about technology and how it will impact (make cheaper) the cost of delivering healthcare.

Was really helpful that I could talk about being just fine coming out of everything.  Again so greatful to be here as opposed to where I was one year ago.

Time to have a blowout celebration.  Except that I have to go back to the grindstone tomorrow and need to be able to think.

O....forgot that I have another cyclists party tomorrow night.  This time for volunteering at the benefit/auction 2 weeks ago.

Think I am having too much fun Laughing

(((Stanzie))) so sorry about Leisl. If you lived here I could recommend a great holistic vet, she really helped my old lab who had health issues. I swear by holistic/eastern medicine!

Lori, you share the BEST pics! Never saw a puking pumpkin before - hope I never see one live! lol. That pic rivals the (pooping) pumpkin pie pic!

Been working too much/too many crazy hours to drink. Am off to Moscow today and will proba bly sleep my entire layover.

    Cheers!

whatever sinus/bronchial infection I'm fighting has whooped my butt big time.   Finally felt good enough this afternoon to do some more dumpster dumping.   Have spent the afternoon going through boxes and boxes of Christmas decorations.    What I'm keeping is now spread all over the family room--told dh we might as well decorate for Chirstmas rather than pack it all back up!!  He thinks it is my fever speaking.

Sorry, Wahine--I can't throw away the limbo stick--we've had too much fun with that at some of our pool parties!!!

gonna grab me a quick cold one from Jocks and head for a hammock by the pool.  Hope someone pops along quick to chat and fill me in on what all I've missed!!!

Hi junie, Joining you by the pool! Ooohhhhh, Jocks just refilled my drink. Aren't they just totally indispensible! OK, we can chat and catch up on all the goings-on around here. If any of you do not want us talking about you behind your back, you better get your butt down here.....LOL. Gawd, I cannot believe how long that infection stayed with you! Hope you aren't overdoing it. Yeah, I agree with you....might as well decorate now while it is all out. It will be Christmas soon enough! The year of my cancer dx and surgeries, I left the Christmas decorations up FOR A WHOLE YEAR!!!! Just didn't have the energy or the inclination to put it all up....I put tons of stuff out. But actually it was just the decorated tree I left up...not too bad. The g'kids thought that was the neatest thing~~~!

Enjoying the hammock next to yours junie, and ohhhhh this seagrams tastes good! Hope your ML's are good and icy cold!!! Where is everyone else????? ChEARS
