how about drinking?

Gail, What an amazing drink! I think I'll ask Pants to make me the "Flaming Spanish Coffee", since it looks too complicated for me to do. Gotta keep him busy, right?? And instead of having a fire extinguisher handy, I'll just grab a couple of our hunky firemen....one on each arm. Boy, life is good! LOL. Bottoms Up!0
-
Never thought I'd be saying this, but in this case I'll skip the drink........ Two firemen will give me a much better buzz.

LOL Claire.....that is a better idea!!!!

Hi Loungettes, thanks for all your support and encouragement this has been a tougher week. More work than I'm used to and all food (except candy and hard likker) taste like, like, like, well, U know, doggy doo. Not that I eat that too often, but everything sucks! Poor Hobson (which is the name I call DH from the Movie "Arthur" when Dudley Moore says to his buttler, "Any thoughts Hobson?" I love that movie when Dudley Moore is just drunk as a skunk and laughing his behind off. Okay enuf about that movie. Last night it was Twilight Zone and McHale's Navy - more favs. Anyway, Hobson gets pretty lousy frozen dinners lately and he's used to my gourmet (ha ha ha ha) cooking, which I do think is better than frozen, except lately it just doesn't matter to me. I just try to get some nutrition and then go back to my candy and booze! Yippee!!
So now I'm slinking back to the P-fountain and having a big ol DOTD, thank God it's Happy Hour here in 36 minutes.
Hugs and Hope You Got No Bed Bugs....~ Beans

A Flaming Spanish Coffee is just what I need right now! Temp in the house is 55 degrees. The oil tank gizmo says the tank is half full, but it sounds awfully empty when I bang on it and the furnace is actiling like it isn't getting any oil. I seriously need to have words with the oil company tomorrow. And I will NOT call for oil today, b/c I will NOT pay double (their emergency delivery charge)! If the sun comes out the sun porch will heat up the rest of the house pretty quickly.
Had to take Sadie to the emergency vet for stitches yesterday. When I took her to a dog park Friday afternoon she must have caught her leg on the corner of the cement slab or one of the rocks. Didn't look bad Friday night in the shower (necessary as Sadie found a mud puddle and rolled around in it) but yesterday am the flap was swinging in the breeze. She is now nicely recovered. I need a good long session in the hot tub with a Flaming Coffee, though!

Good morning girls! Will skip the HTL buffet, as DH is making me banana pancakes and bacon....yummmmm! Will partake of the bloody mary's and mimosa fountain at the HTL though. Hope this will be a good day for everyone!
NM...brrrrrrrrrrrr.....but I love it cold, so I could prob handle those temps. My DH constantly freezes here....even has to wear his winter coat in the house sometimes,,,lol. Hope your house will heat up though with the sun, so you can wait till tomorrow to have the oil company out. Ohhhhh poor Sadie! Good thing you noticed that and were able to take her in for stitches. Please give her a hug from us! She's a sweetie. I brought our 2 furbabies in yesterday to play with them for awhile in the kitchen....unbeknownst to me,Molly's feet were wet and muddy....yikes...not only got mud on the kitchen floor, but the carpet on the way to the kitchen. Maverick was nice and dry, and he promptly rolled over for belly rubs!
I think I will fill up a PITCHER of mimosas from the fountain....anyone joining me? Nice and warm and sunny here by the pool. Jocks and Pants are working in their swim trunks, so the view ain't too bad either! ChEARS!

Beanie - glad you are feeling better. I'm keeping an eye out for you in the fountain though.
Claire - I agree! Maybe the whole point is to have an excuse to call the firemen cuz that looks way too complicated a procedure for a drinker to undergo...
NM - poor Sadie! My corgi ate an e-collar once. Hope she heals quickly and can get rid of that thing!
Well I woke up at 6AM (formerly known as 7AM) and made a beeline for the store. The rain woke me in the night and as I tried to get back to sleep there was this nagging thought... there is no brandy or Bailey's in the house cuz I never made it to BevMo. Oh, and I needed eggs to make breakfasst for my family too. Waiting for at least noon to break out the Bailey's ... this is MUCH easier than the Flaming Spanish Coffee
Bailey's Irish Coffee
- 1 cup hot premium coffee
- 1 fluid ounce Baileys Irish Cream
- whipped cream
- chocolate shavings or powder (optional)
Directions:
Combine coffee and Bailey's Irish Cream.
Top with whipped cream and serve.
Makes 1 serving.

HAPPY MONDAY!!! Hope everyone has been away from the lounge enjoying the gawwgeous fall weather that we are having. Know it won't last much longer, so taking advantage of a few lovely days.
Hunky--sorry to hear you've got the creeping crud! If it's anything like what I've been fighting, get you some strong drugs--pronto!!! I am feeling better but nowhere near being able to say I feel good! It is some really nasty crap. Not sure one round of antibiotics is going to kick it.
Hope all the ailing fur babies are doing better!
Off to fix me a bowl of oatmeal--still much into the comfort food stage! Wonder if a Bloody Mary would taste good with it!! Hoping to work on dumpster stuff today then heading out to pool this afternoon for some drinks, hot tub--hope to catch up with you all out there. Maybe we need to plan another par-tay!!!
big hugggssssss to ALL!!!!

I was out cycling all weekend. Did a group ride on Saturday, but the group is faster than I am. Ended up taking a couple of shortcuts so did about 23 miles. I could have done the entire route, but not at that pace. Drizzly, but rain held off until later.
Yesterday, I got to do a ride in the countryside with my friend Amanda. Just so glorious, and we had sunshine. Not that many people out cycling so we had the place to ourselves. Stopped at two places, so $20 got me two dozen free range eggs straight from the farm and a ton of fruits and veggies. Three heavy bags of them.
Cooked up the large, green Hubbard squash to replace the inedible pumpkin I had attempted a couple of days ago. Took a taste, and tossed it. Will make squash custard with squash and eggs. Should be yum.
I will be freezing squash later today.....slaying the Hubbard is a chore, and so is cooking it, but then you have lots of wonderful squash in the freezer. Plus a yummy dessert.
And oh, the wine I had last night was delish.

I'm with junie....time to plan another partay....

AStorm - what a beautiful spread!! And it looks sweet so I'm grabbing a plateful! Geeeawwwd that is a fancy puppy party...only wish I knew how old Gary is (you know, my plant) so I could throw him a party that nice. He's a good plant and has never peed on the carpet once. He's not loud either and he doesn't stick his nose...well you know, he's well behaved.
This is Gary:
Wahine - the time change is just another torture to endure, with all the other bs I've been keeping track of and now, somehow the hour makes a difference and it ruins my schedule and I wish they didn't do this - I think most of the clocks are set now, but my exercise watch has a broken button so I won't be able to change it. Grumble, grumble!! Been hard to exercise in all this friggin rain anyway - how do people live in all this rain??? Thanks for cheering me on. Raincitygirl hung out with me "virtually" while I gaged down the last caca pills (she coined the perfect term!!) this morning to finish cycle #5, yum. Now it's another drink and pee day. Hope you enjoyed your moscato, eeeeeeeeeeeee, I can't wait till I can tolerate some serious booze. I get two weeks off chemo now, so maybe can squeeze in something, but it will have to be sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. My appetite has really changed. Last night I made a beautiful salad with all fresh lettuce and spring mix and all kinds of goodies, tomato, cucumber, raisins, pecans, cheese, croutons, greek olives, fresh dressing and I made quiche and when I looked at it all I just thought YUCKO!! I AM NOT EATING THIS IT LOOKS DISGUSTING! So I had apple sauce and raisin bran loaded with rum and extra raisins and that was delicious. Followed by lots of left over halloweeenie candy. I'm surviving on cheerios, raisin brain, trail mix, vodka, and peanut butter cups for the next month. And so glad to see cake and scones at the HTL, I'm digging in!!!
Junie - In between rain storms it is beautiful in the fall, thanks for the reminder, I get so mad at all the rain and the time change. I did have a gorgeous long walk yesterday and it looked like it could rain any minute, but it didn't. The air was fresh and the plants were all enjoying the water, there were huge black clouds and huge white puffy clouds and some bright blue sky. Makes me wonder how I can get so grumpy when there is so much beauty out there! Sorry to hear you've been sick too. I'm not sick, I'm just sick...there's a difference. In your oatmeal, I suggest adding maple syrup, brown sugar, some hot buttered rum and peanut butter cups, that will work better than any antiB's. I think I'll pass on the dumpster stuff but will be happy to join you at the pool for drinks and a hot tub, sounds great. How about a HAPPY MONDAY PAR-TAY???
Claire - Thanks so much for all your encouraging words, I'm getting there and you're an inspiration with all your cycling. I've only gotten my bike out once when it wasn't raining and I rode down the street and back. Your 23 miles is impressive!!! Wow, you are such a champ! Sorry, but food and wine right now are kinda off my list, now if it was Manischewitz or Mogen David's Concord grape wine I could dig it!! Saaaawwwwweeeeeetttttt!!! What was the dessert???
Raincitygirl - Wishing you the best today!!
HD - Hope that cold leaves you and finds JP - they would make a nice couple to send to outerspace or gather them up and use one of the weird guns they have on Twilight Zone where things just disappear, that would be cool. I do hope you are getting some time off work to west and wecuppewate. Thinking of you with all best thoughts.
Hey, I found another party bus the serves Seattle and greater Puget Sound area, lets get on board, and have a Happy Monday Par-tay!!
BTW - while I was walking yesterday, contimplating my life and the cosmos, I had thoughts of such gratitude to ALL my bc friends I've found here. You have pulled me through a tough time and I'm eternally grateful. Also, I've been working hard at selling sh*t to make BCO donations. I have had some success and I'll let you know how much when I get the totals in. As I sit here in my usual dazed, chemo-stupe I do want to say thanks and then I want to say let's PAR-TAY!!!
Party time, party down, let's get down to party town...Happy Monday and Have a Great Week!!!
Big hugs to all, Bububububeans

Beans.....was a year ago last week that I started chemo, and I rode rain or shine on the weekends. Unless it was really foul and windy. Most of the time it was just drizzle.
I remember meeting one of my friends for a ride, and his response was "I thought you meant just coffee!" He told me that this year, he doesn't want to get soaked. However, I expect to be skiing. Can't wait for real snow as last year was a major bust that way.
Sorry about stuff not tasting right. I tossed a few meals after cooking them. I remember a chicken dish that was just fine initially, but couldn't face the leftovers. I didn't have quite the sweet cravings you appear to be having.
You will enjoy walking in the rain a lot more if you have clothing that keeps you dry. I still could use a rain hat. Best investment I made was a cycling jacket that repels water. Not on the normal "preparing for chemo" list. I am still wearing it.
I am ready to PAR-TAY, but doing some work is a much better idea right now as need to get ready for a client meeting I have tomorrow. The Concord Grape pic is enough to make me swear off alcohol permanently. - Claire

Claire - I'm totally inspired, rain or shine today I'm jogging my routine, 40 min and then walk, stretch, etc. The sweet thing is weird, I've never had sweet cravings, (maybe cuz I can't really drink - don't tell anyone all my booze is virtual lately). Well, you know the saying...this too shall pass. Have fun at work. LOL concord grape!!!

Beans, If you are craving sweet stuff and *if* wine ever sounds good again....you might like moscato...it is sweet and reminiscent of an ice wine, but much less $$!
I am ready to PARTAY.....lets tell the Tattie Tenders and Wenches that we need an amazing Moody Monday Madness....I need to get in a better mood, and that sounds like a good way to do it!

Beans, when this group is done, couldn't we at the end hook up that cool party bus and have live Hot Tatties Lounge roaming the city seeking fireman and hot docs?
0 -
raincitygirl - let's do it tonight, party time, party down, party bus come on gals let's find HD, give her some kleenex and drag her on the party bus roaming the city, who else is game???

Yippee we got wahine, raincitygirl, HD, junie?, Claire? chrissy? stanzie? NM? AStorm? who else??? come on gals - whooppiiee! (Jocks told me the firemen and cute doc will be there)

ith I'm in! I could use a good PAR TAY! Sadie is doing very well. She's learned how to herd me with the collar, and annoy me to no end poking me with it. Unfortunately, she licks and chews at the spot whenever she gets a chance, so the collar has to stay on except to eat and drink. But, it's only for a few more days.
Let's get the bus going--we can get directions from
The Dog at the Signpost
2 parts gin
¼ squirt lemon juice
2 tsps sugar
1 part Lillet Blanc
Ice
In a cocktail shaker, muddle sugar with lemon juice. Add Lillet, Gin and ice. Shake well, till blended. Strain into chilled cocktail glass and add twist of lemon

I will work on getting the party bus booked, but beyond the fireman and hot docs and various cocktails and fountains, I still think we will need some additional entertainment - any thoughts? requests?
0 -
I can't go on the party bus. I am sickie poo! I barely made it to work. I think Junie accidently drooled in my beer after seeing the firemen or something. I started some antibiotics I had a refill of, but I doubt they will help. Also, I am not liking the way My Sherona area is looking. You all continue on the party bus and I will catch up to you on my broom. Right now...the P-fountain is where I would like to be. Can someone anchor me in there? Just bring me my antibiotic 4 times a day, and I hope it is a warm water fountain cause I am freeeeeezing! Chills, I mean Cheers! Hunkydory

Sorry HD that you are feeling so awful. Think Beans is perking up a bit. So glad.
Just one more Beans. I craved salt, but I also had different chemo. And only with AC, not Taxol. Five days into Taxol the salt craving was suddenly over.

HD, I think we were bringing the party bus to YOU.....so since you are sick, no worries about trying to catch the bus. We'll come and cheer you up and bring the hunky tattie tenders and firemen!!! Who knows....once we show up, you might have a miraculous healing!!! Hope you will feel better soon!
