AStorm - I bought this stuff that keeps the moles and voles away - does not kill them. There is one electrical box for my irrigation they love to get into and chew the wires. It works so far - I'll go look at the name of the stuff when I take the kids to school in a few minutes....

Stanzie - awesome! My DD and I looked into traps because we thought we could "trap and release" but found no such trap.

Beans.......almost home now. I found the last chemo hardest because I was so done by then.
And you will be done with rads by Christmas. Woo-hoo!!!!
You will be done with all the fun pills even sooner. If I get this one right, last rad will be on Christmas Eve. So guess who will be celebrating.
Are using the Aloe gel religously??? Really important. I had minimal skin damage with rads. Just a bit of redness and peeling at the end. My rad team was all prepared to help with sores so I could do LIVESTRONG 12 days after finishing, but never needed anything beyond the Aloe and Bag Balm. - Claire

Claire - THANK YOU for the encouragement & info on rads...I am using Aloe gel religiously!!! So far, so good. Due to holidays I think my rads will finish by New Years Eve, but chemo is almost done so will be past that for Christmas - Thank God!!!!! Have not heard of Bag Balm, all I am using is Aloe about 5 to 8 times a day, it's nice stuff so not a bother really.
Anyone wanna have a little breakfast with Beanie tomorrow???
Alls I forgot was the Salmonello's - maybe HD can add a box.

NM, Thanks for posting the firemen pic, and adding another one! WooHoo!!!!
Dorothy,I am sooo sorry but I packed so late and brought at least 2x the amount of clothes I will need, and because of that I didn't leave ANY room for you. Will you forgive me? Purty pleez??? Thank you for the toast! If you know any way to get rid of the buttheads let me know b4 I have to see them this weekend. Good, good luck on your 1st day back to work...puleez do not overdo! And I bet DD's performance was so lovely. Glad you got to be there!
AStorm, Good cockail, as usual! You and I are SO alike...my DH is not allowed to paint either. However I think it is smart of THEM to not do it well, cause it gets them out of all sorts of work.

Been lazying around, really need to get in motion (localmotion) and get dressed and off of this computer!!!!! Lots to do today...you all take care!

Astorm-
It is called Molemax by Bonide and it is a mole and vole repellent. It comes in a kind of large jug and it is sort of grannular. Hope it helps!!
Ok, so how quickly can one lose 10lbs and really actually do it.
Kathy - so jealous!!!! send pictures and make us all feel like we are there..... Brrr is it ever cold here.. hope my fish don't die the fountain which gives them oxygen...... I have called but no return calls...
Can the aloe be used for other things besides Rads and sunburn? Just curious.

Hiyall....I am just popping in for a quick E. I would like trying to write in Bleango....that is Beanius lingquistics, but I know I would fail miserably. And, I can't possibly respond to all these posts but am glad everyone is staying on top of their vino, booze, and blunts. Hiya Liz19....welcome to the lounge. LMAO! I am surprised you remember me. I am going to start signing off as Honky Dory sometimes! Work work work...I think I need a vacation. The 4 days off I had last weekend spoiled me. I think my next time off of work won't be quite so fun. Get out the stool softeners and expulsion meds. I will have time I guess to finish my xmas list, all from the stroke of a key! Yeeeha! I definately am going to remember my PS and nurses this Xmas...they have treated me so well. Well, time for me to find that Tree O' Beer from Dorothy....and maybe some of AStorms Cat O'Nip! cHairs! Honky Dory
P.S. Edited to add....Stanzie...I don't think loosing weight like that is fun! Hugs for you!
Second Edit: Oh, I thought you meant you lost 10 pounds because of your recent stress....sorry!0 -
Stanzie - I lost 10 pounds quickly on three occasions -- the first two times, I gave birth; the last time I took up running (which was harder). I continued to lose weight as long as I ran (25# total) but gained it back as soon as I stopped running.

Hi all! what an eventfull few days! Thanks once again for making my birthday so wonderful. I was pretty busy yesterday (Monday). ...one last birthday hug to Chrissy! Man, this birthday bonanza wore my old butt out! But, what great fun it was!!!!!
HunkyD--don't forget to put your drinkin' buds on that cyber shopping list!!! J/K. Can't believe it is so close to Christmas!!! Doing our usual cop-out and writing checks again this year. That will be a priority in next few days to get the checks written; cards addressed and indvidual notes written to all the kids/grand kids. Totally tacky--but much less stress! Have a few decorations to set about--maybe tomorrow.....and some December birthdays coming up........
Wahine--glad you arrived safely! Enjoy your warmth and sunshine!!! We have the "S" word in the forecast--yuk! Have watched some of the snow problems up north and back east---NM--hope you haven't been caught in all that!!
Sometimes, it is hard to remember how far apart we all are and just because I'm having a beautiful weather day--someone else's may be miserable!!!
big hugggssssss to ALL.....I really need to get busy--but think I'll have Jocks load me up some more dog beers and help me make a list of just what all it is I think I need to get done!!!
TITZ and BOTTOMZ Up...this round is on me....BARMEN!!!

Junie....what do you want for Xmas...I will get it for ya! You know I will if I can. Hugs...HD

junie, GR8 idea to get on HD's list! Hope the "s" word doesn't happen, unless your are wanting it! I know it will be real cold at home, but was nice and sunny here today! Loaded up on all the local goodies that I can't get at home. Will prob gain ten more pounds.
HD(aka Honky Dory), I *think* I've been sorta good this year.....or at least part of the time! Good luck on all your internet shopping; I really do a lot of that myself. Much better selection!
Stanzie, If I knew a good (easy!) way to drop 10 pounds, I would do it too! Other than hiding it with "spanx" or some other apparel, I can't be of much help.
Beans, Keep hanging in there, girl! You are getting closer to being all through with the tx as each day passes. You are doing good.....just don't ever lose your sense of humor! Be careful going back home.
Lori, Hope you are having a good trip....or are you back home now? I can't even keep up with my own travels, let alone anyone else's! Hope things are going well.
Dee, Where are you? Come on over and join me at the bar! Looks like Pants is whipping up some SINISTER cocktails, thanks to Beans....yummmyyyyyy!
I think my brain must have gotten frozen lately, as it sure ain't working right...lol. I told my mom I had brought a pack of luminary stuff so we can set up some luminaries, since we are missing the ones this weekend back at home. Well, dumb me, I mentioned that we prob would need some sand to weight the bags down, and even though I had JUST gotten back from walking on the beach, all I could picture was having to buy a big heavy bag at the hardware store! So I'm asking her where we could get some sand. Sheesh!!!! And she worries about HER mind!!! Girls, is there any hope for me????
I think we need to add some sock monkeys to the christmas decorations that our Tattie Tenders put up. But so far, our HTL is really looking festive. Glad they hung lots of mistletoe...

Kathy - I live in a beach town and I once purchased sand. I never thought of getting it at the beach. Doh!
Sounds like you are a little homesick so I made you a snowman... it's out by the pool
I've been a bit lax with Christmas decorating this year. Maybe I need some motivation?..
ok, now we're talkin...

Pants and Jocks have whipped up something special for anyone who would rather be in Hawaii
Mele Kalikimaka Martini
A creative twist on a Bing Crosby classic, the Mele Kalikimaka Martini is "Hawaii's way to say Merry Christmas to you." This holiday season we're going loco for coco, all thanks to the Puerto Rican favorite Coquito. However, if you want to bring a little bit of the Hawaiian tropics to your home (and who doesn't?), you can simply grab a bottle of pineapple-infused vodka, luscious coconut cream, and all your friends for a scandalous game of limbo. The Mele Kalikimaka Martini adds a personal touch to your typical eggnog and is a surefire way to impress any partygoer.
Ingredients
1.5 oz. Pineapple flavored vodka (We used SKYY Infusions Pineapple)
3 oz. Coquito
Splash of Coconut cream
Nutmeg
CinnamonPreparation
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into martini glass. Top with sprinkling of nutmeg and cinnamon and garnish with a cinnamon stick.0 -
AStorm, do you mind if I take your snowmans smile and buttons? I promised Junie a xmas gift! HonkyD
0 -
hi hunkdory! We had extra buttons
and extra smiles too
0 -
Gail, Thanks for the snowman! Although I am not missing the cold weather, even one iota. Love your pic of your "helper"...lol. Ono sounding drink....but the pic didn't show up....I will use my imagination on this one! Oh, and in case anyone is concerned, we are only needing a tiny amount of sand, and it will prob be either put back,or sprinkled on the yard....so no damage to the beach! When I was growing up,Santa was usually depicted coming in on a surfboard, riding a wave (in Santa suit or christmas trunks). After I moved to the mainland and had wintry christmases, it just doesn't feel like christmas when I am in Hawaii and it is warm, and all the leaves are on the trees! I do enjoy the hawaiian themed christmas ornaments, and creative displays though!
Dare I make anyone feel sick, you might not want to read the following...WARNING not for the weak of stomach.... But for breakfast I am having ripe papaya, ripe guava, and fresh ahi poke (raw tuna cubes, thin branched brown seaweed, green onions, and soy sauce)! The fish counter has several varieties of poke and they usually sell out by the afternoon. Onolicious! I think a local beer would be appropriate.... I am always surprised how much cheaper liquor is HERE than in the SE. SO we are taking back 2 large bottles of Silver Patron, and 2 bottles of Seagrams 7, for starters. Gotta fit in thegallons of Aloha Soy Sauce (the only one I love), too! Thank God they make it with *lower* sodium as soy sauce is so full of sodium. We had tons of it growing up, using it with green guavas and green mangoes too. Having a fun time, and today my mom and I are going to the tea house that Robert Louis Stevenson used to frequent (he visited King Kalakaua a lot, and my great-great-grandfather played the ukulele for them and entertained them, since he invented the instrument). After lunch there, then the Academy of Art....they have amazing asian and hawaiian exhibits. Hope to ride around the island soon as the surfing championships are going on right now, and I love to see them surf through the pipeline.
Sending some warm sunny skies your way, along with wonderful weather.....
Aloha!
Kathy

Oops! That's Naughty Santa, not the Mele Kalikimaka Martini... let's try that again...
Kathy, can you see the hula girl and martini? If not maybe there is a setting on your PC that is blocking everything except Naught Santas?
0 -
LMAO Gail! Yup, I can see the hula gal and martini now.....but LOVE your naughty santa better! You are sooooooo funny!!!! Just after 9 am here, but that naughty santa sure opened my eyes, even better than the ahi poke! Thanks for the visuals!!!!

looks like one of our firemen got tangled up in some ribbon while we were decorating... and another one is all tangled up in lights...
I NEED SOME HELP HERE GIRLS! I've never been so good at decorating.
0 -
I will be most happy to help "untangle" the firemen.
Don't think I will need any strong potions to get my engines revved. Just saying.....
This picture also reminds me of an observation I made many years ago when I had to learn German for some Art History courses I was taking. The word "schmuck" means "decoration" in German. I think we all know the Yiddish definition.
These pictures gets at both meanings!!!

Oh my nauty santa, is he coming to the lounge this evening?
I am so very sad to hear that Elizabeth Edwards lost her battle today. I am shedding a few tears for her. She was such a dignified and courageous woman. I feel so bad that she overcame so many hardships in life over and above having bc. She has fought for help for others and has been so selfless despite loosing her son and her hubby while caring for her young children and preparing them for being without her. I am just so saddening by this. Decomcrat or Republic,it does not matter, this lady was one of the strongest ladies in this century.
Let's celebrate Elizabeth's memory at the HTL this evening and have a special prayer and a toast in her honor!
I'll try to catch up with you lovely ladies later, I have been busy busy being a worker-bee again.
Peace and lots of love to ya all. And TITS UP!!
