how about drinking?

Have been MIA with a meeting yesterday and a cyclists party last night. Laughted and laughed and laughed at the gag gifts for the exchange last night. My fave is the mounted bicycle seat to "get in training" for spring. I actually ended up with something I could use.....a lovely hammered brass bowl which gets the fruit off the kitchen counter.
Can I come for eggnog???? Looks like a lovely lunch. No need to add food.
On wine and chemo, TNBC. I don't know if you are still having chemo. I didn't drink at all during my six months of chemo as thought too much strain on my liver. It took my body about 6 weeks to fully adjust post chemo. Are you drinking enough other fluids?? I know that water is boring, but a couple of glasses might help.
I would not want to go without wine either, and I know that a lot of the Stage IV ladies indulge.
I need to be productive today as didn't get much done yesterday. Glad it's Friday but suspect any activities will get rained out tomorrow. And will be rain, not snow in the mountains. O well, time for the gym.
Titz up!!!!

I am counting the days until DD goes to college! Had to take her car into the body shop again - people just keep hitting it! When she was taking her stuff out of the trunk I noticed a pair of my shoes in there... the pair I searched high and low for last week. And they weren't even in a box! She left the front door standing open (all day) and one of the cats went out and he got beat up pretty bad. And yesterday I noticed that a handle on my Louis Vuitton satchel that I carry everyday is getting frayed so I planned to take it to the store this morning to get it fixed. I wanted to switch to the larger LV while getting this one repaired so I pulled all the boxes off the shelf in my closet to get to the large LV bag but the box was empty.. hmmm... maybe in my bc haze I put it in another box? Looked in every box and couldn't find it. Maybe it's in the loft of my home office... Odd, but sometimes things end up there... Nope. This morning I go into DD's room and start digging through piles of clean and dirty clothes on the floor and there it is! This is a large and very expensive bag and not one you would expect to see a 17 YO girl carrying -- at least not in this town. The leather trim is so dirty I can't use it until I get it cleaned so I decided to carry the vintage LV barrel even though it is too small and I don't like to take it out in the rain. Guess what? It's missing too and she knows nothing about that one. Thank goodness she doesn't like the red suede Donald J Pliner (she calls it "mom-ly") or I would have to walk into LV carrying an old Dooney & Bourke! My greatest fear is that the C's and D's she is currently earning will prevent her from getting into university and she will still be living here and going to community college next year. I told both DD's all I want for Christmas is good grades! She's really bright so I'm starting to think that maybe she is a "failure to launch" kid who has figured out that it is much more comfortable at home... if she could just keep her mom out of her room.
Sorry my story isn't as funny as your joke, Lori.
Hey there goes Kanye West with my bag!
Nice of her to leave me something to wear...
Is that eggnog fat-free? If so I'll take a pitcher... if not maybe I'll just have one tiny little glass... off to Vuitton!

RRRRRR!!! I mentioned the handbag thing to DH and he said he can't understand why anyone would spend money on a handbag! I explained that, although I am not a big "shopper", I do spend money when I am angry and... oh did I not just say I'm on my way to the VUITTON STORE? Men are sooooo clueless!

Oh boy, Egg Nog, glad I managed to roll outa bed in time! What a lazy biotch I was yesterday. Got home from my suntan and was going to run, but it was pouring effing rain again, n I was sweeepy, dozzzy, dopey n saw my wittle beddy-bye and in I went, crashed for an hour n a half, then sweepy-dopeyed my way thru the eve and then crashed for 12 hours...now I gotta get my big girl panties on, grab my bacon vodka and head over for some egg nog!!
Bin tryin' to get my friggin self organized for Christmas, sending gifts n stuff...but this chemo brain gets so funcussed n I look around my office and there's just this horrible mess...every day I have on my list of things to get done to get organized, but I'm not.
Bin workin on what to wear for Christmas...found this n said "gotta have it!"...
Oooooo chocolate n wine!

Beans.... Last year, I went to Tasting Room and had them SHIP WINE to most of my friends. Cost a bit more, but they did the work.
No one complained.
I ended up doing relatively little shopping. Was fine with me. Good luck, and you will feel more energetic soon. Think the radiation may be kicking in by now too. But you will be fine soon.
Still would like some of that egg nog.
AStorm.......I would be a lot more angry than you. Good luck with locking down your handbags. Even more luck with DD. Yes, good grades, and a university outside of easy commuting distance.

Oh Beans, I know there is sooooo much to do right now, but girlfriend you need to take care of YOURSELF!!!! I am sure everyone would understand if you did not get ANY gifts out this year, or cards all written, etc. I know you prob think you should do it all (I do too!), but can anyone (like DH?) help you with some of it? Get all the rest you can,and don't feel guilty about it, as you need it right now. Ok?? Love your sock monkey dress.....hang on tightly to it, or HD might just take it from ya....j/k!
Gail, I know you've heard it a hundred times, but believe it or not, this too shall pass and you will miss her a lot when she leaves home. Sorta like when your toddler drives you crazy and years later you realize those were prob the best years? My DD's never took my clothes or purses, but then again mine were not anything special! But I was so glad when they both got married, as then whenever they had car trouble, etc., it would be their husbands that would have to rescue them, and not me! LOL. Since I was widowed, all the tasks fell on me, so that really was a big relief. SO sorry she is causing you so much grief, and I am not trying to make light of it at all, and wish I had a solution, but if you can make it through this period of her life without too much stress, then someday soon you can have a nice close relationship again! My heart goes out to you! And yes, load up on Stanzie's eggnog,as remember that when it is made and consumed at the HTL, there are nooooooo calories!!!
Welcome TNBC-er, to our beloved HTL.....here at least, you can drink to your heart's content, and no hangovers or headaches from chemo with drinking. I did not have chemo, so no advice from me, but just wanted to welcome you and hope you stay around and have fun at our cyber bar!
NM, "big girl panties" sorta means like "suck it up", rise above the situation, don't whine about it, just do it, etc. I guess there are a million meanings, but that sorta is how I perceive it.
Stanzie, what yummy eggnog! I think I will have Pants make it up here so I can drink all I want, with no calories! If I make it at home I will gain a gazillion pounds!! Have you tried melatonin for sleep? I take 3mg at night, about 30 min or more b4 I want to go to sleep. My mom's dr even told her to use it,and he gave her the one with benadryl as I guess that would make you more drowsy. It really works for us! And much safer than sleeping pills, or not getting enough sleep. We get ours at the drug store, brands like Nature Made, and very inexpensive. Not sure if the type w/ benadryl needs a prescrip though. I know you are missing Liesl terribly, and I am still sending comforting thoughts and prayers your way.
Lori, Last night we even had flood warnings on Oahu, plus bad thunderstorms. It is STILL raining very hard. The wind was so high too. DH and I went for a long walk between rains, and the wind made it difficult, plus there were so many coconut fronds on the road, from verrrrrry tall coconut trees. I imagine that would knock someone out falling on them from that height, and they are heavy. Haven't seen the news or paper yet (still morning), so don't know what all has happened. I know it is wrecking our plans, but I always feel sorry for the tourists that might only be here for a short time, and then have it rain the entire time! We were lucky to have gorgeous days till yesterday!
Egads, I wanted to comment on the posts on the previous page, but now I forgot what I wanted to write. AUWE.....will blame it on old age!
ChEARS big ears!

wahine - I will take your advice..."piss on it (gifts, etc.) and walk away!!" I think the dress should be my Christmas prezzie to HD - do you think she'll like??? Hope you are having fun!
AStorm - sorry about your DD - your stories make me feel so guilty as I was 19 or 20ish when my mom got bc - I was so self-centered and self-absorbed - looking back I sure wish I could have been there more for her...wish your DD could see that now.
TNBCr - Wine gives me a stupid headache on chemo so haven't been able to drink since July (just a little wine inbetween cycles toward the start of the next cycle) Monday is my last effin friggin stupid crappy caca pill day, so within a few weeks I think I can enjoy a little wine without a headache. I think Claire is right about drinking lots of water too, and I passed on alc due to everything else going through my liver on chemo. But I got tons of vodka and DOTDs downed here at the HTL and that saved my sanity. I also won a million $ at the slots so can just order wine gifts like Claire and not worry about the cost. Welcome to you and, yes, I'm full of beans!
Claire - so far my titties are holding up thru rads and I'm just glopping on the aloe...hope you have a good workout at the gym.
I think I musta missed a page again as I didn't get Goldie's joke...it's so fun to be so out of it...
Well now I must get ready for my daily suntan.
BARMEN!!!!

Oh Green Beans, you MUST read Goldie's Italian funnie again! It was cute! You can't be THAT out of it....and if you are, we need to come and rescue you....be right over!!! The only Italian joke (and no offense meant at anyone that is Italian here...just all in fun!) that I remember from waaaay back, is this one (and you might have to say it out loud to get it).

Fun Friday--love the jokes!! Beans--love the "dress" and Wahine is soooo right--you better get two 'cause HD will surely want one!!! We keep hearing the "S" word in our forecasts, but so far the weather is holding up--DH played golf today. We are headed out in a bit to our local hangout for a few drinks and dinner--think other than doctor/ER, first time I've been out of the house in a month! Looking forward to playing some Keno for real!!! Fingers crossed that the Kenogod is in a benevolent mood--starting to get the bills from my ER visit--WTF!!! and, I've got good insurance!!! Part of the problem was that so far I hadn't nearly met my yearly deductible, LOL--I sure have, now!!! Have another little project for next week--we rec'd a nice letter from the IRS that there was an error on our last taxes and we owe them some more money! (Merry Christmas!) First, I gotta find the friggin' copies of last year's return--with all the house cleaning, everything has been moved around. Then, notify our accountant; then call IRS--it never ends, does it!!! But, I am really good at the Scarlett O'Hara thing and tomorrow is another day! Gonna go have me a bit of fun for a short while!!!!
I love good eggnog and the recipe sounds sooo yummy--I'll be back later to finish off the evening in my hammock at the pool.....TITZ Up!!

Beanie - cute dress! Yes, I often express my apologies to my dearly departed mother for whatever stress I many have inflicted during my youth. It goes like this" "Mom, I hope you get this message. I want you to know that I am sorry for being a teenager because I'm sure you never deserved it."
Junie - funny you should mention Scarlett. I have been listening to Gone with the Wind (audiobook) in my car... for awhile now cuz it's 40+ hours. Love her expressions "well fiddle-dee-dee!" but I don't get "God's nightgown!"... I heard her say today "men just aren't very smart". I hope the IRS is wrong (that does happen). They sent me a letter once telling me we owed more because one of my kids' social security numbers was missing. I called and asked why they didn't just ask me to complete the missing information or just look it up - we had the same kids the year before! Well don't think of it now - it's Friday and there is a party at the lounge and all the firemen are playing Santa for us!

I must be out of it - didn't see the Goldie's letter....
The egg nog is from a friend of mine whens she gave this big party and made this. It really is as good as it sounds and with all the liquor in it - keeps a long time! I think I even froze some once and that was really good too. I keep thinking I could add some geletin to it and pour it in a chocolate crust and make a killer pie!
I read Gone With The Wind for the first time after my surgery( I know a sin for a southerner especially one in Atlanta). Anyway, I loved the saying,"God's nightgown" Maybe you have to be a southerner! LOL.
Oh let's so not talk about the IRS! So sorry Junie - couldn't they have at least waited???
My sister is giving my other sister a 65th birthday surprise and invited me. Of course she has no clue how difficult it is for me to arrange for someone to take care of my kids, cat, fish and everything and right after Christmas which with the MS just exhaustes me. But then she doesn't care she tells me my priorities are wrong and that it is the least I can do since they came up to take care of me after my surgery. I never asked them to and was surprised that they wanted to come. But they are getting their milage out of it as it is something to lord over me and it is now a big debt I owe them so finally understand why they came. They have never once asked how I am doing. Neither have kids and both have lots of money which they only spend on themselves and party non-stop and travel. Just so upset about the whole thing. Sure I'd love to go but can't afford it and the thought of the stress and stuff to try and do it just overwhelming for 1 or 2 nights! Just too much! Wish she would ever give me the benefit of the doubt that I'm not being mean it is just too hard. Sorry, for the rant - still upset.

Hi ladies,
I am just stopping in the lounge for a few shots to motivate me and warm me up. I have a ton of things to do and am having trouble getting motivated. I still have pumpkins and TG stuff on my front porch. My neighbors are probably laughing at us. The holiday decor is my baby, DH is working so much and does not have time either. I really want to buy a tree today and decorate my house but I don't have anyone to help me in getting into my attic and fear hurting myself doing it alone. I have drop down steps so it is hard to carry and balance. I hate not being able to do the things I used to do so easily, gosh we take so many things for granted.
Stanzie, I am so very sorry about the hurt your sister caused you. I have been blessed with two very wonderful sisters and never take them for granted. I hope you are able to let go of the hurtful things said to you about your priorities. Have some eggnog and add a little extra spike, pray and you will feel better. People can be so freaking insensitive. A big cyber hug to you, my friend.
Astorm, my daughter was very much like your daughter, she is now 19 and going to a good college. She made a complete 180 at the end of her junior year. I used to battle with her in getting homework done then suddenly something got into her (something good) and she just started getting her stuff done early instead of waiting until last minute and ended up going from report cards with b's c'd and d's to almost straight a's. She is doing great at college in her first year, no report card yet but I think it will be a's and b'c. She is still disrespectful at times but has gotten so much better than she was at 13-18. I hope that your daughter finds herself the same way.
Kathy, I hope you are enjoying that beautiful weather, it sucks here, I can't stand the cold weather. I now understand why "old people" move South. I was happy to hear that you have met your monster relative and was cival. You are the bigger person for speaking with her after what she did without getting an apology.
Beans, I love the moving heart, how'd ya do that?
Claire, I am still looking for motivation to get moving but it is coming slowly. I actually took a short walk outside in the cold while at work this week. I was getting hot in the building and decided to step outside. I found myself walking around the corporate center and admiring the beauty of the grounds. I have had more excercize this week than I have since my bmx in july. I have been taking the stairs at work, down only but better than the elevator, there are 48 steps. I want to work on going up and down!
Tbnc'er, nice to see another newbie here. I just love these ladies, they have accepted even me into their club with open arms. You will have a lot of fun at the lounge. I am sending you your favorite drink, make it a double!!
Beans, you crack me up, I love your dialogue. I miss hanging at the lounge day and night.
Hello to honky dory, Chrissy and to Mainer and the rest of my breast friends. I hope you are all having a wonderful Saturday. Why don't we meet up at the tree and have a few before we get on with our day?? Bottomz up and titties too!!! Peace, hugs and lots a love to each and everyone of you here. Again, make it a great day and don't forget to smile

Good morning Ladies.
Have to get dressed and out the door for the planned group ride. Hoping that we don't get too soaked as major deluge coming. I can see yellow and orange on the map and that is not a good thing.
Too early to write much, but great job Dorothy on getting some exercise in. Looks like balance is an issue for you as you mention attic steps and decoration. I do sit-ups on an exercise ball which does wonder for my core and overall balance. Wish I could help with this. I know I am just fine that way, as helped at my friends' moving party a couple of months ago.
Stanzie....sorry about your family. My sisters were weird too, but at least they didn't expect me to spend money. I would just say I don't have the money right now. I think you need to put that stake in the ground. It's a lot easier for some of us to pick up and go than others. I'm not going anywhere either. I did go to NYC back in August, but needed that more to feel like I had my game professionally on than for a vacation.
A Storm.....thanks for the firemen. Talk about something that works better than coffee for getting me going
Beans....will let you know how wet I get. Think gym is tomorrow.
Anyway, tailz up!!!!! And mine on a bicycle seat.

LMAO at Astorm. Sorry, 'bout all that, but it sounds more like DD should stay out of her mothers room, instead of the other way around!
Now it looks like Beans has been in Honky's closet! LOL. Glad you are getting those naps in too. If you don't, you will regret it. So when you are tired...NAP!
Need to post this as it has just been sitting here for a couple hours, idle.
Love ya's all!

Junie - okay, HD can have that sock monkey dress it's outa my budget at $1,500 anyways. Or maybe she'd like this holiday look:
Hope you have fun steppin' out and I'll say a little prayer to the Keno God for you to win big (maybe you can buy one of them dresses too??). Ug to your med bills and double ug to IRS entanglement, that sucks! Yes, do the Scarlett O'Hara thing and think about that tomorrow and I'll see you at the hammock for an egg nog.
AStorm - tanks for da hot pic - WOWZA!!
Stanzie - I read GWTW in HS and I loved it...didn't remember "God's Nightgown" but do remember "Great Balls of Fire." Sorry about your sister, no one gets it until they've been in your "shoes." I'm sorry she is so insensitive to you.
DorothyK - I agree it's awful to be more limited in doing stuff after all this bc s***. I can just see Claire on an exercise ball getting in perfect shape and balance! I think I would fall off. Specially on this chemo - I've been so weeble-wobbly, still in shock, dealin with healin and trying to drink as much fluid as I can tolerate - drink n pee - wobble - drink n pee. So frustrating to want to get stuff out of the attic but need help. I HATE asking for help. I just want to be my independent snotty old self. As for the heart, I found it on photobucket and just copied the link where that little tree is on the reply window. I'd love to meet up with you for a few dog beers with bacon vodka chasers, should I bring salmonellos as an appetizer???
Claire - I've heard the storms coming in around noon so I hope you get your ride in...love the exercise ball idea. I got out for a long walk yesterday and hope to get either a walk or jog in before the storm too.
Goldie - I'm afraid I did try to steal that dress from HD, but I think it'll look better on her and she can afford it - ha ha ha! You are so right about napping, I notice when I get tired I start going all weepy-cry-baby, waaaaaaaaaah, and den it's time for nappy-poo.
I hope this is okay to post here, I didn't find it and won't incriminate who did. Also, the link works fine on my computer, but no guarantees...I thought it was funny....looks like it came from Seattle...

Luv and hugs to you all! Tailz n Titz Up!

New here. But this looks like a fun place !
Before BC I alway had 1 or 2 drinks a night before dinner when DH came home. I have tried to cut back because of the BC - booze link. I also get headaches now from wine and beer !
Here is a drink that cuts back on calories and alcohol, especially good in the summer. 1/2 beer and 1/2 diet ginger ale. Very refreshing !
Any other beer drinkers? I like the micro brewers. Been buying a blueberry beer made in Maine I found at Trader Joe's

Helloooooooo ladies! Just getting up here....today is DH's birthday, so a nice dinner out tonight with some nice relatives (have to face the monster relative tomorrow for my Dad's b'day). Gotta see what DH wants to do today....looks like a nice sunny day after 2 days of rain/flooding/storms. The marathon is tomorrow am, and yesterday for the registration, the park in Waikiki was soooo flooded, they had to build plywood walkways! But the runners all said they would rather have rain than hot temps, and now maybe they will even have clear weather. (I'll cheer on the sidelines with a drink....lol).
Had to call the cops on the neighbors last night....hated to, but their party STARTED at 1 am and music was soooooo loud we couldn't sleep, since everyone keeps windows open, and houses are so close together. Couldn't believe why they started so late and were so loud, as usually there is a lot of respect in this area. I miss a/c and closed up houses....lol....much quieter! Eating tooooo much local food, none of it good for us, but soooooo ono!
Junie, that sucks about the IRS....hope it is THEIR fault and not yours...but hard to dig up the paperwork when you have just turned your house upside-down! I hate that. Hope the keno-gods are wunnerful and winningful (for you), and you enjoyed the gambling. Sendiing a garbage-can sized bucket, iced down, and full of ML's and dog beers to you...take your pick! Will look for you in the casino later!
Beans, Hope you will feel better today, but so glad you are keeping your humor! Cute sock monkey pic.
Stanzie, Sorry about the shitty sisters....mine sounds similar but 10x worse! At least they cared enough (but with ulterior motivees) to come down for your bc.....mine never even called, sent a card, nothing. But that is par for the course. I agree with the others...let them know the childcare/petcare situation creates a problem. Not sure I would mention not being able to afford it, cause then anytime you spend money on something, they might throw that back up at you. And with your MS, and dealing with the stess of losing Liesl, and Christmas, etc......just too much to handle at one time. Take care of YOURSELF and do what is best for YOU and YOUR family first.....then if you have the time, energy, money, and desire to go there, do it then. IF not, then explain your situation; if they don't "get it" then try not to let that bother you. I might even lend you my new pair of "big girl panties" that Gail posted! It helps. Well, you know wee are here for you.....and will have Jocks mix up some delish killer drinks for you that will get you quite mellow.....or else the maryjuana could help too!
Didn't mean to write so long. This happens when I first wake up and start typing....sawwwyyyy! Hope everyone will have a great weekend.....stay warm.....stay cozy....stay drunk! J/K. Think I will raise my glass to my DH, for his birthday....but what shall I put in my glass?????
Aloha Oe,
Kathy

erica31 - hello & welcome...I'm sorta new here too...been writing silly stuff since I found out I had bc in March of this year and these wonderful ladies have helped me keep my sanity through a lot of crazy daze. I love beer but mostly drink wine...beer I like in the summers after I go for a jog when it's hot. I've never tried the 1/2 beer & 1/2 diet ginger ale. I've been on chemo since July and was drinking tons of crystal light (water got really boring, so did herbal tea, and I can only handle a little fruit juice), but now I'm worried about aspartame giving me some other stupid cancer. Is that something to worry about, or can I cross that off my worry list? Blueberry beer sounds really interesting...will have to look for that at TJs. For the moment I'm back to herbal tea. I plan to continue to enjoy wine as I'm kinda high strung and it helps calm me down. I don't like taking pills but I totally enjoy lattes in the am and a good glass of vino at happy hour.
Have a great day!!!

Wahine - I bumped into your post...sorry! Happy BD to your DH (UG about monster relative tomorrow, hope that goes okay!) I'm jealous of your weather, it's cold, windy and rainy here and a big storm is due in. Ooooo how fun a marathon! Holy moly having to call cops, I understand as we had vacation renters at a nearby house one weekend partying LOUD til all hours...the local food sounds so good! Most food except sweet stuff still is yuck-O for me but that will be over soon. What a nice message to Stanzie, wish I could have said it so well! It's so good to hear from you, you write soooooo well!! Hope you continue to have a great time over there! Take care!!
HD - when you are in could you please fill me in on the sock monkeys - they are soooooo funny...I was watching the video again that Goldie made and LMAO and then started looking for sock monkeys. Hope you are doing well!

Welcome erica! Lotta beer drinkers here, wine drinkers, liquor drinkers, hmmmm......lots of any kind of drinkers here actually! You can drink all you want at our cyber bar, and no headaches, no calories, no hangovers, etc. This is a fun bar to hang out in and escape from the bc crap! Sorry you had a reason to find us here, but glad you showed up to join us!
Beans, Thanks for the kind words! Sometimes I write tooooo much, and am never funny when I write! I am usually silly in real life, but then sound so serious when I write. So I very much enjoy your silliness!!!
Gotta get going! So glad this is a nice sunny day again!!! Thanks for the BD wishes for my DH!
Aloha Nui Loa,
Kathy

Hi, I just logged in and tried to start a post from a couple pages back in Word! What a joke. I gave up. I decided just to tell you all......I AM ALMOST DONE WITH XMAS SHOPPING! Now, that is no where near a workout like you Claire, but let me say...it was a challenge. I covet that dress Bean...it is so elegante'! I would need a LV bag from AStorm to accessorize however! Sorry about your trauma with that AStorm. I don't own any bag like that! On top of my Xmas tree this year is not a pretty star...nope....its a cute little sock monkey. I do that every year. I know...I am wierd. Stanzie...when do you leave on cruise? I hope you have a good time. That has not really ever been on my bucket list either. Certainly it beats work. Don't know the "Gods Nightgown" thing either but remember others. Frankly, I don't give a care! LOL! Kathy, HB to DH and hope your are having a wonderful time. I felt almost like you today....run, run, shop, shop, run, run! Loved your wine holder...I would spill in probably 2 seconds. If that hit my new $1500 gown I would sh!t. Lori, I can see you through your monitor.....Bawhahahahaha! Junie, Sorry about IRS....you hopefully will get lucky on the KENO! Yes? Meet me poolside. Me, and I think I saw Beans and Kitty in a tub full of Aloe Vera gel are already here. NM, hope you get a big break from work for xmas, and hope your are doing well! Dorothy, glad you made your first week ok at work...probably ready for a stiff one? Well, I had pre-op last week and had some wierd blood work come to find out...but I guess the surgery is still on. Just a wee nervous about it all. To everyone I have missed...HAPPY BIRTHDAY, and hugs to ya all....Honky Dory
P.S. Edited to add: Liked the White Trash Xmas card....LOL!0 -
Been cold and dreary here today. Got called to do a little per diem work, and as usual it took longer to get a computer and get it working enough for me to do my work than the owrk itself took! It has NOT been my week with technology. All I can say is thank God that paper and pencil are sooo hard to break and so easy to fix on the rare occasion they do!
Hello and greetings to the newcomers! Glad to see you here, glad you found us, sorry you have to join our club. There's no calories in the munchies, and there's never a hangover from the drink we imbibe virtually here!
My recommendation for the Drink of the Day:
Screw the Computer
20 ml Triple Sec
40 ml Coconut Rum
cubes Ice
15 ml (squeezed) Lemon Juice
glass (Fill With) 7 Up
50 ml Orange Juice

I went to the mall. I hate the mall. Had to get tires. Hate Christmas shopping. Bought underwear for the girls, "from WD" cuz he eats them. The only time I smiled was when we went to Chili's for lunch and the servers were wearing light-up Christmas tree light necklaces... made me think of naughty Santa. Maybe I need more eggnog... with spirits to make up for my lack thereof.
Beanie - you? high strung?

Hi NativeMainer......hadn't seen the "output processor" cartoon in ever so long. Only thing not relevant is the "floppy disk", very funny because the cartoon is at least 25 years old.
I did get in my group ride. The first half was relatively dry, but got a trifle "damp" on the return. Plus the leader was slow, so I was getting chilled. Finally for the last 6 miles, they picked up the pace. The group never saw me move as fast, as was trying to get my core temperature up.
Got warmed up by the fire at Red Hook Brewery. Seating on the ledge was tight as we all had the same thing in mind. One of the guys got up so I could get warm!!! Chivalry isn't dead.
Enjoyed my Winter Ale and brat. Then home to a hot bath and stripping my rain-soaked/muddy clothes into the wash.
Feel wonderful right now. Glad not to have anywhere else to go as Lumieres walk was cancelled.

Hi gals! Pau hana time here, but late night for a lot of you. NM,LOVE the toilet/computer cartoon.....funny And what a yummy sounding drink with a funny (but so true!) name.! Just got back from a long walk on the beach....and someone made a "Sandman"....just like a snowman, but big body of large balls of sand, with a fresh orchid lei around its neck! Even had a baby next to it. Wish I had taken my camera! Lots of dogs running in the water (owners nearby of course).....made us miss our furbabies back home who are prob pretty cold right now, even though they have lots of warm thick beds, and warm pads in their doghouses too (on covered deck). But not as warm as we are! HunkyD, you wanna start on my Christmas shopping? I am SO not ready! Will be thinking of you this week....is it on the 14th? Gotta get dressed to go out for his birthday dinner....but first some Moscato d'Asti!
Okole Maluna!

Where ever you are and what ever you are doing, Love n hugs to all. chrissy

I love eggnog--going to get some at the grocery store after church today since I have to pick up a few other things anyway. It amazes me how quickly I run out of bread, milk and eggs sometimes. I'm really hoping that the only technology that I have to deal with today is my trusty, if disentegrating, laptop, my TV and my coffee maker. I swear there are times when technology forgets that IT serves ME, not the other way around!
I see the tenders and wenches are setting up the Sunday buffett--I'm really hungry, so I'm going to wander over and see what's on the menu for the morning.
Oh, my, look at the table decorations!
and the candles for decoration, too--
the DOTD must be a Gingerbread Man!
1 part Coffee Liqueur
1 part Goldschlager
1 part Irish CreamI'll have mine in a BIG mug of French Vanilla Coffee!
