Dorothy, I'll join you tonight for the prayer and toast in memory of Elizabeth Edwards. You are right....she was an amazing woman. I had been out all day and missed the news so I had no idea, till I read your post. Visited my 101 yr old aunt, and although she had a stroke and is so thin now, she still had a nice smile for us. It was hard, though, to see her like that.

Boy oh boy is decorating getting FUN here!!! I'll help untangle them too....some good examples of manhood there. Enjoying all the pics and silliness that everyone contributes!

    Cheers to Elizabeth Edwards!

dang!!!  now I'm rethinking my paltry Christmas decorating!!!   I want the fireman with the lights in every room of my house!!!     We are having last-minute discussions about what do you want Santa to bring this year--we are both stumped!!!   We've spent a lot last few months on house stuff that is really for both of us....we neither one want or need anything big or expensive.    Can't even think of any little thing I'd be happy with.   Maybe, if I feel better--a trip to the casino????   Some of our kids are flabbergasted with us--they are always calling wanting to know what we want......this year, we told some of them to pool their money, put both our names on a Lowe's gift card and be done with it!   We want to replace a couple more ceiling fans.   To us, it's a win-win situation--eases their shopping load and it's something we're going to do anyway......

Was so sad to hear Elizabeth Edwards died today...the quickness was so unexpected....raising a dog beer in her honor!!!

Big hugggssssss to ALL--happy hump day TOMORROW  (think I've got it right THS time!!!)

.....closing my eyes and remembering misty rains, beautiful rainbows, the sound of the ocean rolling in, warm balmy breezes, lush greenery--our trip to Hawaii a couple years ago-----aaaahhhh, Wahine--enjoy!!!

Here Here to Elizabeth Edwards!!!  She deserves a special prayer and a toast.  Thank you DorothyK for cheering her on.  :)

I love all of your pics and comments.  It makes me laugh.

10 rads down, 23 more to go!  Keeping the aloe and Aquaphor on the rads areas.  They're hitting me a little on the back  to get those nodes.  Lucky me to get so much rads because it's my 2nd time with BC and I'm triple negative.  It's like I hit the jackpot with BC (just kidding)!

I had beer and cookies for dinner!  I know it's not good for me, but tasted good.  :)

    hi girlz,

is it really hump day, wow.  I hope it is true.

Kitty, wishing you and the rest of the girls well with the rads and chemo, my heart goes out to all of you.

Kathy, send some of that Hawaii warmth here, brrr, at 24 degrees.  I am going to head to the lounge and grab a shot of jd then off to work to get an arse beating.  I wish I could hang at the lounge all day but gotz to work, booooo hoooooo.

Jeannie, in our world, there are enough of those fireman for each of us, after all, this is the HTL and we get everything and anything we want.

To the rest of ya girls, love ya all.  Peace out, girl scouts!  you are all troopers.  Tits up and cheerz!!!!

Wowsa, y'all sure had some fun while I was gone! Love all the deco's and the bottle tree rocks Dorothy. And Kathy, licking all that icing off of Hunk and then telling someone else to keep it clean..........uh huh! Took me two days to read and catch up. Bone density showing some probs in my right hip, lower back and neck. If much worse next year, he will put me on Fosomax. Mammo results not in yet, blood work fine, colesterol off the charts, almost 300! WTF? How does that happen? I practically live on chicken and a$$ (as Dee calls it) which is broccoli for those that don't don't know. So on top of the hundred supplements I already take, I have now added some Red Rice Yeast and Cinnamon pills. Oh got me some Salmonellos too. Beans, would you mind sharing some of your vodka?

Sounds like everyone is doing wunnerful, welcome to the new gals. Kathy enjoy! Toasting Elizabeth Edwards with you all!

I too join in the toast to Elizabeth Edwards - So very sad.

It is sooooo cold here! 23 I believe. Good thing I checked on the guest house last night, I asked my son to turn up the heat and he did that however he forgot to switch it from ac to heat so it was 39 !! and that was before 8:00pm so I'm sure I'd have had some busted pipes! whew!

Trying to madly finish Christmas shopping.... 1 to go  out of town and 2 to help the elderly couple decorate and they LOVE to decorate! They said it will be their last time and they want to give all the stuff away - sad but I do understand. Their "god children" are their benefactors and they don't really want most of their "Stuff" so it makes sense to clean house and give things away to people they know will want it. But still sad - they are both in their 80's and in wheelchairs for the most part but both still working and amazingly sharp minds - certainly better than mine!!!

Kitty - your strenghth and positive attitude are so lovely! I hate you have to go through so much but hang in there!!!

Kathy - take lots of pictures to share with us! I know you are having a blast being back!

OK, better go out in the cold and go shopping......

Lori, Welcome Back!!!! Well, you know....when I told the other gals to "keep it clean", I really meant that if the firemen ended up with icing on them too, that they should lick it off too, thereby keeping everything clean...lol. j/k. (WHEW....did I think of a good enuf excuse?)! I can't understand HOW your chol could get so high...did your dr give you any ideas? That sucks. That eating plan I went on last year, that I really want to start again, did lower my chol and got all my other numbers in line (however when we traveled I got off of it and haven't started back), so now my numbers are a bit out of whack, but not that high. Plus, I lost weight on it, which I really need much more of! If you want to know about it, pm me. I hate that you may have to go on Fosomax next year...is there anything you can do now to delay that? Yeah, cinnamon is real good....I try to put a tsp a day on my cereal or oatmeal. Boy it sucks getting older, but the alternative isn't so good either!

Sure enjoying the cheap wine and liquor prices here! Not in restaurants or bars, but in the grocery/drug stores. Have a lot of bottles of moscato to drink up while here, as I have too many other bottles to bring home! Oh, and hopefully we will only have to spend time with the "a$$hole relatives" for one night....YAY! Two big birthday celebrations this weekend....DH's is on Saturday, and Dad's is on Sunday. Lotta stuff on the news yesterday about Pearl Harbor day. Sadly, in yrs past when I would visit in Dec, there would be so many old veterans on each flight. This year,we didn't notice any. Nice though that everyone clapped when it was mentioned that several soldiers were on the plane, returning from Afganistan. How about a DOTD to honor all our soldiers that fight every day for our freedom? I will let someone else come up with it, as its sorta hard to do that on this teeny netbook. And you all are so good at that, anyway!!!

Raising my glass to all the soldiers who sacrifice every day, for us.........

I feel like I've missed so much with my stupid train trips n work n s*** I want to read the pages but will have to start with this page 2 day, trying not to eanbay atinlay too much...I know I funcuse ymself! Just want you to onay dat I R edjumacated, but igbay time offeygay - ha ha ha ha

Honky D - thank you for the congrats on my fu to last 5-fu. Went without much of a hitch, got really white last night but now my color is back and by tomorrow I should be a tomato face again. Also got #14 of 33 rads done so I'm closing in - yeah!!! Hoping you are doing great!!

Raincitygirl - LOL - naughty Santa - I need that and the martini...I so wish I had a chance to meet you when I was there - now I'm going into follow-ups so won't be back to Seattle till late Feb, maybe better weather by then too!

DorothyK - I was sad to hear about Elizabeth Edwards too, I heard the day before they had stopped treatment...she was truly a beautiful person and one we don't like to see leave the planet, so I just wish her home safely and now to be a guardian angel. You worded everything so well, thank you! I will definitely join you tonight for a prayer and toast!

Wahine - 101 year old aunt? That is fantastic, it is hard to see them get old and frail, but what a fantastic life! I'm glad to hear you are having fun untangling décor here...it is fun...I am thinking of picking up some things at the senior thrift shop for our temporary place...just to cheer up for the holidays...I can also drop off a few items for them. Avhay unfay in Awaiihay!! Mele Kalikimaka!

Junie - I wonder if I can ickpay uplay firemen and lights at the senior thrift shop??? I can't think of any thing I want for Christmas other than to be finished with chemo and rads (and to end cancer for all forever, peace on earth, good-will to all and drink a magnum or so of champagne)...I will be done with chemo in 5 days, so that's cool by me...otherwise, I think I have enough socks, t-shirts, shoes, old cars, junk n stuff to last the rest of my life...think I'll just drop a few more things at the senior thrift...oh, I do need a bottle of tamoxifen starting in Jan...have been price shopping cuz I'll need it for 2 to 5 years??? Crazy, this never ends and I just can't wait to see what SE's that'll give me...I think a trip to the casino sounds about the best as long as there's plenty of vodka...I think slots with a pile of coins and a vodka with grapefruit juice sounds fun. Hope you get your Lowe's card and ceiling fans!!

Liz19 - Sounds like a good buzz was on - wanna share?? Good honky name too! hope you have a great day and tonight too!

Kittycat - way to go, we are running a close race - after today I have 18 rads to go...yahoo! We're talking about picking up some sinister oreos - that's really bad!!

Goldie - yeah! So good to hear from you. What kindof probs in your hip, back and neck? My bone scan last summer had all kinds of "old age" setting in stuff, I know I get some aches here and there, but "it's not pain if you don't acknowledge it" ha ha ha. I take calcium every day, hope this doesn't turn into something painful for you. As for cholesterol, sorry to hear it's so high, but I know you'll get that in control. I prescribe Quaker Oats, lotta A$$ and extra vodka which I'm happy to share great quan- titties of and the Salmonellos are a real treat, be sure to get the Oat Salmonellos they pull extra cholestrol out. Glad the rest of you blood work is good. My wbc is coming back up, was just under normal yesterday. Please let us know when your mamo is in...that's so nerve-wracking to wait for results.

Stanzie - that is cold! We had that but it's warmer for now, but so much pounding rain...it is so hard to get out for exercise. Hope you have fun fun fun oppingshay!!

Chrissy - wanted to say today is the 8th  where I am and I wanted to say big congrats on your cancerversary!!!

Otay allya emay ishes way uyah a unkendray appyhay aday!!

cHairs n Dog Beers to all, I'm going to the casino for slots and vodka/grapefruits!!!

Kathy, great job covering ur butt.....lol! It worked! Say hello to mom and dad and make sure dad has his flask full on the trip home! No Fosomax until after next years bone density test, depending on what it shows. Happy early birthday to Dad and Dear Hubby!

Beans, PIG LATIN......that is funny. We had a time when we were all talking that way, a while back. I think Dee started it. I did get the oat cheerios, thanks. The hip, neck and back bone loss is a gift from Arimidex. I am not in any pain, just the hip a tiny tiny bit at times. So glad you are almost done with your 5 fu. So now its FU to CANCER! BARMEN!

Welcome to lifestooshort, we def. have some laughs here! Pull up a bar stool and join in!

NM, thanks for the laughs this morning, those are good!

I have a funny to tell, forgot yesterday to tell it. Well y'all remember my Willie customer......well he called me again. He was telling me that he thinks all tv's and computer monitors have cameras in them and we are being watched! SERIOUSLY? I laughed and he was like......Lori, this is very possible, think about it! OMG, have some more Willie dude! He tells me he is being watched and can't send emails or pictures....but yet he emails me!

    TO DA TROOPS! THANK YOU!

Good Morning Gals! (Well, it is early morn here, but afternoon for most of you!).

NM, Hilarious pics! Esp love the one of the dogs drinking the tree water....toooooo funny! Thanks for the humor.

Lori, Neat toast for the troops.....full bottles even.....amazing names!!!! ROFLMAO at your "Willie" customer....guess he "uses" too much? Just a wee bit paranoid, huh? Yes, I realized you would not even have to consider fosamax unless your next yrs tests showed a need for it, but I'm still hoping it won't have to happen!!! We are all toooooo young for that $hit. But good thing there is a good med like that, as it seems to work well. My mom has been on it for years now, and the fact that she can remember it once a week amazes me. I do much better with pills I have to take daily....if I have to do it only every so often I would surely forget. And soooo sweet of you to wish Happy Birthday to my guys here! Looks like 2 nights of celebrating at the country club down the road....yummmmmmy food and drinks!!! And the $hitass relative will only be there for one of those nights....thank god!

Well gals, I made it through an afternoon and evening with the $hitass relative.....it was EXTREMELY difficult, esp with my hands shaking, dry mouth, fast beating heart, when I knew she was going to visit. But Thank God I was able to be cordial and pleasant and like I was glad to see her....this is someone who totally told me off a few yrs ago, and declared that I "don't exist", etc...and I hadn't seen her since, so I was quite stressed over it. I know I will never get an apology or even an admittance of what she did, but if she can be civil to me now, I will be able to rise above that and "put my big girl panties on" (recognize that statement anyone?....lol). But I will never forget it!!!

Drinking to the troops from the bottles Lori provided!!!! Cheers! Chairs! ChEARS! Salut! Kampai! Okole Maluna! Salante! BARMEN!

Sounds like you Willie customer is a little paranoid, Lori. He may be onto something though... yesterday an invasion program was installed on my PC without my authority. Fortunately I was able to locate it and uninstall it before it caused any damage but it kept scanning my PC and telling me that I had hardware problems that their software could repair... for a mere $49.95. I had disabled my firewall for a few minutes in order to run a utility and forgot to turn off my wireless so that it wouldn't connect to the Internet while I was exposed. Maybe there is someone out there watching us...

NM - thanks for the "visuals" LOL! I hope the guy with the belly tat doesn't show up at the lounge... we prefer Naughty Santa.

This has been a realllly long week for me. Worked until after 1AM Tuesday/Wednesday and didn't get home until about 2AM... crashed for about 3 hours and then drove 2 1/2 hours to another client. Almost fell asleep driving home... had to sing/yell Christmas caroles to keep my eyes open. Hope no one saw me. Once when my kids were little I was singing a kid song about brushing my teeth and getting dressed, complete with facial expressions + hand jesture animation in my minivan while we were stopped at the light. I looked over and saw an old boyfriend in the car next to us.

Beanie - hope you will be just as clever after you finish the crappy pills. I'd really miss your hilarious posts!

Kathy - you can proudly wear these now ---

Gail, Thank you! My very own pair of "big girl panties"....I may need to wear them again on Sunday! So funny about your singing and then your old boyfriend in the next car!!! Bet you turned ten shades of red. Glad you didn't fall asleep this time on the way home....sing to your hearts content!

HD and Beans, Think I will pass on the bacon vodka....lol...yucko cannot even imagine how that would taste! Funny though.

Well, sure got the rain junie mentioned missing here, BUT we got tons of it all night and most of today...have flooding now on Kauai. Did not see a rainbow yet though. Still eating tons of local food that I cannot get at home. Got some new aloha shirts today, for DH...he's trying them on as I type. They look good....yay! Back to bourbon and diet coke tonight....nice happy hours outside with the tradewinds....I think the winds are supposed to get up to 40mph tonight. Hope it won't rain tomorrow so we can get back up and do stuff. Hope everyone is doing well! Glad I can keep up with what all is going on here. Take care loungettes!!!!

    Bottoms Up!

hey, Lori--that Willie guy just might be right!   DH and I have looked for ages for a hidden camera in our house.....we have one kid who only calls when someone's asleep. taking a shower, on the pot, cooking or eating dinner!!!   Next time "Willie" calls, you need to tell him that your soaker hoses, etc, emit rays that block those harmful spying eyes--maybe he'll order a lot!!!!!!

Dang--I thought I was riding out hump day and all of a sudden, it's almost TGIF Day!    Just don't know where the time goes!   It's late, but heading out to the pool with a bucket of iced down ML to see if anyone's there!!   Jocks and Pants have recovered from Chrissy's BD par-tay and are raring to go again.......time to plan another par-tay!!!!!!

It is so cold here I'm afraid the thought of going in a pool is a bit teeth chattering..... However a few years ago my DD so wanted to swim since it was a warm winter day - she just didn't quite get that the water would still be freeeeezing - so she now knows what 49 degree water feels like and I have the video!

    Beanie - feel better!

Astorm - don't you dare fall asleep driving! We'll have to be the opposite of those I've fallen and can't get up buttons when you start to doze we will all chime in with funny comments, odd thoughts, hilarious stories and threats of throwing you into a freezing pool so no snoozing while driving..... Love the story of singing in the car. Apparently in collge I was singing my heart out right next to a bus from my collge filled with teachers and kids who all knew me - I was teased for days about that..... We are not alone in the car...

So wish I could sleep through the night....I miss sleeping it was one of my favorite things to do!

I'm going away for Christmas with an old friend whose beloved Father and step mother died this year and her Mom has just gotten out of the hospital -so a very hard year. We haven't seen each other in 12 years! Actually going on one of those Carnival cruises - which I have never ever ever wanted to do! They just sound dreadful but I'm going. Anyway, if anyone has read some wonderful books I'd love to have some ideas. I'll read pretty much anything and everything and in my older age seem to go through books like crazy.

Happy Friday !  Oh and tomorrow oh wait it is tomorrow - later today I'll post a fabulous egg nog recipe that I'm going to make for friends...... Don't have any pictures of it but maybe I can find something.....

Ok, I ALWAYS sing in the car, so I am sure I have been seen by many! Just glad they can't hear me!

HONKY, we did have Bakon vodka a while back, but beats the heck outta me if I can remember why............HONK HONK!

Kathy, sounds like you are enjoy things there on the island. Glad Kauai wasn't flooded when we were there. How awful would that have been.

Stanzi, enjoy your cruise. Not really something I had ever wanted to do, but after BC I feel like why the hell not? I used to dread flying, now it doesn't bother me in the least. We are hoping to do an Alaskan Cruise some day.

    Sweet Dreemz Beenz

Oh and Dorothy (I think it was you) a ways back, getting a ton of rain and wanted to build an ark. I meant to tell you, we already have one, it's at Junies house.

Town today for us and I think a movie. Hope I can stay away, was a sweaty night, finally just drug my sorry arse outta bed at 3. Don't even know what we are going to see

Trying to enjoy my pumpkin spice coffee!

DH and I always enjoyed wine with our evening meal, but since being on chemo, I get a headache if I have any white wine.  Does this effect go away, or am I doomed to no longer enjoy wine?  (BTW, DH still enjoys his wine - chemo didn't affect him. LOL)
