ROTFLMAO Beans.......loved the video. It even had some Miller Lite, Jack Daniels in it and a can o BEANS on top o the tree! Perfect video for The HTL! And there's the funny way you type. So when I first read "drink n pee"............well, need I say more? And yes, Kathy is very good at words, whether she is being sentimental or naughty!

Kathy, you not funny? Are you kidding me? Hope you had a wonderful evening of celebration for DH's birthday and again for dads. Hope you had your big girl panties on when that not so nice relative showed up.

    OOOOOPS! WRONG ONE

    WHEW! THAT'S BETTER!

Hehe, just couldn't resist the other one, it was too funny!  That pair is for all of us, as ALL of us could fit!

NM, love your DOTD and pics to go with it! Always nice to start the day laughing!

Astorm, sorry about the Mall Shopping. I always that too. We don't have a mall where we live! Claire, glad to see chivalry is alive and kickin! Stanzie, I agree with Kathy. If you really don't feel like going, THEN DON'T.

Ok, I have all this typed and pictures inserted and now I see another page! So I will post and then finish reading..............after I welcome Erica.

    Welcome Erica!

Good morning!  I think today is Dees Birthday so even though she isn't around much anymore....I'm going to wish her a big Happy Birthday!  Bean, I can't remember what started the talks about the sock monkies.  I live with several of them.  They are nice little fellas.  They don't even fling their poo!  I musta been really out of it when I posted yesterday cause I thought Kathy posted the wine holder picture.  I saw this morning you did...my apologies.  Lori, NM...good morning.  Chrissy, love the quote "pussed off"  Well, off to the food and drink.  HD

    Beanie - funny video!

    Dee - Happy Happy Birthday!

NM - one of the pictures didn't come out was this true for everyone or just me? Not that I'm paranoid or anything.....

It is starting to sleet here and Monday and Tuesday will be down in the teens but feel like the single digits - hope nothing freezes and breaks! Not feeling great today and today is our concert of Handel's Messiah!  Yesterday at dress rehearsal a girl who hadn't come to any rehearsals shows up with her baby! Very odd, but cute baby. Well until we are standing and singing and my friend next to me jumps and pulls in front of me - the baby was yanking her hair out! The mom didn't notice till the conductor yells at her above the orchestra! It wouldnt' be terrible except she is always 1/2 step flat. Wish I felt better, hoping it is just lack of sleep and not really sick.

Thanks so much for all the support with my sister - she just makes me feel guilty and awful. Trying to come up with a good responce back but will have to wait till after the concert. Going to Cirque du Soliel next week! Very excited and taking 2 of my kids - of course it is the one week they are slammed with tests and papers!

HD - when I was little we had a small guest house we rented out and I remember my favorite renters Vinnie and Tim.  Vinnie adored sock monkeys! I had never seen one before and to tell the truth as a kid thought she was a little nuts. I can see more their appeal now than then. I guess at some point they were the uglie dolls of their time! Annice has a bunch of those and thought that was odd at first too! I guess because when I was little I had what I called "my Movie Star Dog" which I just adored. Sort of like the Velvetten Rabbit story I always wanted her to become real and she did in Liesl.

Anyone know of ways to keep the cats off high things? My cat just jumped on the mantle and even though I have it spead beautifully with aluminum foil( was told cats hate that) it doesn't seem to phase her and I must admit it doesn't particularily go well with my decor! LOL.

Off to sing" Fa La La... croak, La Lu...Lu croak...."

Well, here I am again, couldn't sleep, it's 2.17am, so I thought I'd give the net another try.....sigh......see how long I can stay on without loosing my posts.

Kathy, in my avatar, the girl on the right is DD2 and the girl on my left is DD1.  The pic was taken at my birthday lunch.

Hunky, I was trying not to swear so I wouldn't offend anyone or the moderators that's why I wrote 'pussed off'  instead of you know what.....lol

Goldie, love the big girl pants!....lol.....just about my size too, how did you know?

NM, keep them recipes coming, can't get enough of them!  How's the knees?  Holding you up I hope.......a little rest and relaxation is really good for crook knees.......I know, I do it often for mine....lol

Beans......yay!   every day passing is getting you a day closer to the end!!!   not far now!!!!!!

Dotty.....you made it!!!!!   You done good, you survived your first week back at work!   YAY!!!

Well it's taken me a while to read and post and I'm a getting a little weary and the yawns are beginning to show up so I might just try to put the head down again and try for a bit of the ol' shut eye.  I think I'll check out the bar and grab a morning cap on the way to bed (it's 3.00am).

Stanzie--a friend of mine trained her cats to stay off the kitchen counters with doublesided tape.  Apparently cat's don't like sticky stuff on their little feetsies and start avoiding such places.  She put the tape on a bit of cardboard and held the card board down with some canned goods so the tape would "icky up" her counter tops.  Maybe that would work with your kitty?

Getting grey and gloomy here, supposed to start raining, and raining hard pretty soon.  Got a high wind advisory going but all I've seen is a bit of gentle breeze today.  So much for the predictions!

Good morning ladies! Gonna get a nice big cup of the DOTD that NM posted....yummmmm that is good. Can only see the 1st pic though NM...is it my 'puter? Looks like Stanzie may have the same prob. Waaa...waaa...waaaa... *crying*...bet the pics were good ones too! Be careful of the high winds today, as they can do lots of damage...did lots of damage here, but not at my parents place. Glad you reminded me of the buffet...seems sooooo quiet here today, but will saunter over and stuff my face. Luckily no calories, as the pic that was taken last night shows me up to be much bigger than I thought I was....bummer. And here I was, eating everything in sight...lol.

Lori, nice words about the "big girl panties", and hilarious pics! BTW, haven't heard about your DD and $hita$$ SIL.....did they move to St.Thomas? I forget. WOW....I was typing and missed your last post! Great pics for Dee's birthday! Super! And I echo the sentiments exactly!!!

Beans, I missed checking out the video you posted....will have to go back and find it! Hang in there!!!

Chrissy, What a lovely family! I couldn't sleep for hrs last night either.....finally fell into a deep sleep and then the sun wakes me up! We leave the windows and draperies open to get the breeze, but the sun comes right into our eyes, so wakes us up early. Hope you ended up getting some sleep after all!

HD, Thank you, thank you, thank you, for remembering Dee's birthday!!! Time to party again.....and a very big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to DEE!!! Dee, Hope you will come on in and pull up a barstool and let the TT's and Wenches pamper you today.....we miss you!

Well, its hard to type while I am stuffing all this wonderful food into my mouth, and would hate to get it all over my puter. Hmmmm.....what is more important...typing to my breast friends, or eating and drinking at the HTL....welll...........................................................guess you can figure out the winner! C y'all later!

Eatin' and Drinkin' like a starved drunken soldier,

Welcome, angel! Remember at the HTL you can drink all you want to, but in real life just go with your gut instinct....I think your body might  let you know what you can tolerate. Good advice from the other loungettes here! Oops, I didn't realize I was saying almost the same thing Honky was saying!

Gail, AMAZING birthday pic for Dee......looooooove the sock monkeys! And the "BIRTH-DEE"!

    Okay Honky....I will keep eating...LOL!

Oh boy, now that MrsNice is buying drinks I guess it's a good time to slither into the HTL (like the grinch...). Thanks Mrs Nice!

HonkyD - congrats on finishing Christmas shopping. I'm still sitting here in this mess getting no where. I'm glad you like the sock monkey dress I think it's poyfect 4 U! Thanks for filling me in on the sock monkey history, so glad yours don't fling poo, that's a relief! I don't think your weird (for that anyways)...what wine holder? (j/k I do remember). And yes the tub of aloe vera gel is where I'm at. Could you say more about "weird blood work?" you got me worried and is the surg date set? Glad you liked the WT Christmas vid, kinda reminds me of home - he he he!

    tshirt

NM- I think I'm going to go crazy with the COLD, WET, DREARY, DRIPPY, GRAY weather! I loved the Screw the Computer DOTD and funnies, specially since my printer was acting up. And today's Gingerbread Man sounds perfect!

AStorm - that is so cute that WD is buying the unders...hope the happy holidays don't get you down. I have been kinda sickipoo the past couple days, so just staying in. Maybe "high strung" was the wrong wording, but "easily excited" fits.

Geeawwwd I'm really excited about that sock monkey cake for Dee!! Hey, I though you had a BD somewhere around here - did I miss it???

Claire - I am jealous of you braving the wet...I'm indoors for now...big blow over here.

Wahine - I love the sandman/snowman idea, must have been so cute. Nice buffet today! I hope you are having a wonderful time!

    Bottoms Up!

Chrissy - still laughing at your words to keep moderators at bay...so funny! Your daughters look lovely!!

Goldie - glad you liked the video - it just cracked me up! And this morning I just laughed so much at all the big girl panties!!

Dee - Happy Birthday to you - hope you will stop by and visit!

    cake

Stanzie - Hope you feel better and stay warm, it's bad weather here too, makes it hard to do anything outside. I'm glad that baby didn't touch my hair I woulda freaked! I don't even touch my hair and when DH touches it it starts an immediate whine that turns into a loud "don't touch!!" I'm so trying to hang onto what I have. Hope the Cirque du Soliel will be fun. Cats don't like squirt bottles of water either.

Hdangelbaby - hi and welcome, sorry bout da chemo bs, but it will go by fast - how long you got? I started in July and tomorrow is my last day so I've got ten cases of vodka ready to go...haven't felt much like drinking, but I have managed a bit of vino here and there...I say if it feels good do it (and if dr is okay w/it). Also drink extra water as alc is dehydrating. Have a wonderful time at the party!!!!!!

Happy Sunday to ya'll and Cheers!!!

You gals are so funny.  Yes, I don't drink much diet soda.  1/2 can in the beer.  You can also mix sparkling water with juices or wine (if you want to ruin the wine !!)

Hi erica - I got to admit I went back to crystal light today. I sorta dilute it, but it makes downing a gallon with caca pills much easier...

DorothyK - I'm caught between this I WANNA PARTY AND SCREAM TO THE TOP OF MY LUNGS DAT TOMORROW IS MY LAST DAY OF KEEEM-HO and this crappy, lousy, fatigy, spaced out thing called my brain....I'm so excited, I'm so excited...only one more of those pills tomorrow!!!!! I've been talking to my pills saying I'm sorry I call you caca cause I know you're doing one heck of an important job for me, but I just can't tell you how happy I am to say bye-bye caca pills!!! I can't wait to feel like mixing a beer and ginger ale is a good idea!!! (just teasing erica - he he he ). Thanks for your super sweet wishes and drinks by the pool - I'm there!

Just peeking into the PAR-TAY!!!  Won't even try to keep up with everyone.

Welcome Erica.  I stayed away from anything (other than Communion Wine) when on chemo.  There are other things to drink, but have to admit I like wine more.

Thanks Beans.  I got into my old Burberry trench today and braved it.  So got some Christmas shopping done.  Am major thrilled as they repaired my old Gucci shopping bag, and it really looks new.  No more worn, frayed leather edges.  YAY!!!!

Congrats on being done tomorrow Beans.  Just in time for Christmas.

Stopped in for a hot chocolate heaped with whipped crean on the way back.  Stuff is orgasmic.  (Chocolate Box for anyone living near Seattle.)

My glutes are still sore from my sprint to beat the rain yesterday.  Was dragging on the way back home from my shopping.

Think some wine might help.  Anyway, glad Mrs Nice is buying tonight.

Hi Dorothy, Well, the expression started with "Cheers Big Ears", then the response was "Same Goes Big Nose", which we shortened to "ChEARS"! Actually b4 I went to OZ last year, someone found this cheer and it was supposed to be an Aussie cheer....but when I was there and asked my relatives about it, they had never heard of it! LOL. Chrissy, have you ever heard of it? Anyway, sort of an HTL joke now,so when we type "ChEARS' now you know why!

Beans, so glad you have gotten so far in this "journey"....and after rads, you will be better than new! Isn't your birthday coming up soon????

Eeeeeegads, the horrid relative just arrived, and I am trying to hide out here for awhile! NOT going to be a fun night for me! But nice to be here with my parents. Cross your fingers for me that I can keep those "big girl panties" on!

    Suck 'Em Up!

Kathy - I can't imagine you not being nice to this horrid relative - just remember to tell us all about him/her - juicy stories, OK?

Our concert went well except for the cellist who just quit playing for some weird reason?? and the professional recording which only recorded the last 14 minutes as he said their equiptment crashed, hmmm? But nice crowd even with the swirling snow and artic winds!

Claire - oooh hot chocolate sounds yummy right now, wish I had some. Hey wonder if there are any spiked versions of hot chocolate or is it just to sinful to mess up divine chocolate!

Beans, really..........you do not have to apologize to your caca pills! Take the last ones, and cuss the crap outta them! Or...........be nice and kind and say sweet things to the EMPTY bottle! Whatever....congrats on being DONE with them!

Kathy, you are too sweet to go in and say anything bad or negative to this unwanted relative, and I have to agree with Stanzie, can't imagine you being anything but nice! Truth be known, you don't even need Big Girl Panties. OH....and didn't those chEARS come from "Welcome Back Kotter" ........AGAIN, something that Dee started?

WHOA, hit a button and my post posted! That's a first, usually it goes bye bye! Wanted to say more, but now that I am editing, I can't see the posts! Kathy, I think you asked about my DD and A$$ SIL, yes they did the move. DD is working, 5 days a week and her wonderful A$$ husband is doing handyman $hit whenever! He goes to the beach snorkling, and tanning! But what pisses me, I mean PUSSES me the most, is that my daughter has to hitchhike to work on days that her boss can't pick her up.

Junie, the Keno Gods being good to you, or Uncle Sam? Hope you got rid of your crud and having a GOOD time and winning BIG!

Heading out to the pool and hitting a fountain or two and toasting Dee again! Happy Birthday Girl!

    rooster crowing          CROCKED-A-DOODLE-DOO   !!!!!!

lord, miss five minutes here and can't catch up!!!!   DEE--BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!!

The Kenogod was in a teasing mood--at least not on vaca, so had fun--but didn't need to call Brink's to get us home!!!   Was fun to get out of the house for a bit...

Woke up to a white yard this morning--light dusting; gone by noon.   Then dinner at some long-time friends' (actually friends of DH for 40+ years and I've known them now for 20 years....they retired and live near us.....near, being relatively close and a visit requires a day's commitment and much planning for a get-together....so much fun to see them and catch up.....fun time; great food; lots of laughs.....)

Gonna try and catch up with one more tv show then hauling my tired butt out to my hammock.   Hope someone's around the pool to chat with.  But, if not, will bring the current book I'm trying to wade through.  AStorm--you're listening to an audio of GWTW.....I'm reading the sequel---"Scarlett" by Alexandria Ripley....(won' t get this right, but think it was a partially written manuscript by Margaret Mitchell that was found some time after her death and finished by... a daughter????    Anyways, am deep into the fiddle-de-dees and god's petticoats..and tarnations!!!    Can't believe that none of those genteel old southern ladies never let the EFF word rip out!!!!   LOL)

Bigggg huggggsssssss to ALL!   Hope all had a wondrous week end and that it will be a marvelous monday!!!!   See ya at the pool!!!!

Stanzie and Lori, I WISH I could tell that a$$hole off and never see her again, for what she has done to me, but I am biting my tongue. Tonight was HORRID....DH and I went on a nice hour long walk afterwards, and I was able to cool off! Someone had tons of lights up and lots of vignettes that you could walk through. Felt very Christmasy.....even though warm and tropical weather! But would rather be home right now hugging our furbabies. Esp with the brrrrrr cold temps.

Lori, I thought the ChEARS started after we did the Cheers Big Ears cheer, but I could be wrong about that! (What else is new? LOL). Terrible about your DD having to hitchhike to work some days! Hope she is very careful. And while SIL snorkels and enjoys the beach...sheesh! Sorry to hear about that situation; was hoping things would have improved.

Stanzie, Glad the concert went well in spite of the mishaps! Sounds sooooo cold there now! Wish I was home to put my dogs inside for tonight! We decided we would rather not be gone at this time of the year, and actually it is hard to be gone anytime during winter in case it gets this cold.

Junie, Sounds like a nice dinner with those old friends! And at least you had a good time with keno, even though didn't win big! Having fun is the best part.

Dee, Hope your birthday was very good! Honky, be sure to let us know the exact day of your surgery so we can load up the bus and be there with you! Hope everyone else is doing well, and I think I will grab a bar stool and have Pants make me a bunch of pretty drinks with umbrellas in them, and line them up on the bar! Anyone joining me??????

I don't think it's sinful to mix alcohol with chocolate--one of my favs is Godiva white chocolate liquor!  How about this for a DOTD?

    Russian Hot Chocolate

    2 ounces Kahlua coffee liqueur
    1 ounce vodka
1 cup hot chocolate made from milk

Pour Kahlua and vodka into mug. Add hot chocolate. Stir.

Waheni--here's a pair of "Big Girl Panties" that you can stuff in your mouth if you need to keep from saying something horrid to the horrid relative:

sounds lovely - never have tried the white choc. Godiva? I do like the dark choc. though!!! Reminds me a long time ago there was this wonderful fancy resturant and they had a frozen dessert drink called a Barnical Bottom - it was fabulous. Don't have a clue what was in it but it was lovely and served in very cold pewter mugs.

Kathy - SO sorry about the awful relative!!! Sounds like my sister, she just says horrendous things to me but let me barely speak up and she jumps on me. Glad you got to go for a warm walk through Christmas lights - I will be where it is warmer for Christmas which will be weird. Just not interested in Christmas at all this year!!

DorothyK-no need to replenish, the Tenders and Wenches do a very good job of keeping track of what we eat/drink and restocking!  That's part of the joy of the HTL!
