Ladies,
I got to sleep in until 8:30! Only one time up for potty break (if I could just get past that!) and slept great.
NM, My middle daughter (age 20) is in nursing school in Omaha (done w/pre-rereq's-now the real stuff); my niece is same only in Lincoln. No time for a life, which is very difficult for a very social, outgoing, need-for-friends girl. But bless her heart, she is hanging in there. Will definitely take the no SE-Neulasta-laced shot...heading there in an hour. (crossing fingers)
Goldie: I will gladly play for y'all in the lounge...is there a baby grand?! No hymns tonight...I prefer more contemporary/classic when I play for fun, which isn't often. Used to play in college as background music at a restaurant...We can start with Elton John's "Piano Man"...or is it too early for a tonic and gin?!
Although Lutheran, my husband and I have usually make a commitment to give up or change something for Lent. I told him I had already given up PLENTY for canser and I figured the Big Guy was good with that. Then he figured he had too on my behalf, so that's our story and we're sticking to it!
Chrissie, So sorry to hear about DD. Poor thing! Hope she can stay comfortable and get reliefe soon. You too. So much stress. An extra prayer going your family's way.

CHRISSY so glad to see you here, I am so sorry to hear about your daughter though I find it so much harder to watch our kids in pain than everything I have ever been through including this BC crap. It even breaks my heart when the kids are coughing like crazy at night when they have a cold so I cant even imagine what you must be going through feeling so helpless all we ever want is to make everything ok in the world for them isnt it. Do let her know we are all sending our prayers her way.

Goldie I am too such a homebody, even before BC I didnt go out unless it was with DH even then not much. I dont know why, I used to be very social when i was younger. I am second guessing going out tonight though it sounded like a great idea at the time but I am at my lowest right now for blood counts and they werent very good last time around soooooo maybe she would just like to come here for a few drinks and I can postpone when I know my imune is a bit stronger.
Dorothy, hope that hangover doesnt last, how come you have to work on good friday? I thought it was a holiday.

Stanzie how old are your kids? I know you have prolly posted but my poor brain doesn retain much these days. I am surprised they have school today, is it just in canada that today is a holdiday?
Karen what book are you reading, I need to get a good one I need one to catch my attention in the first chapter or I just put it down and never pick it up again. My mom gave the girl who played with fire but there is one I have to read before it apparently and I cant remember what it is. Will have to have a look im sure it says on the book somewhere.
Astorm my stepdaughter 18 just finished her first year of nursing in Thunder Bay, she didnt pass the nursing exam though and is waiting to see if her papers and essays are enough to put her over so she passes the 1st year, I dont think she anticipated how hard it was going to be and how much socializing she really should have given up. she kind of has had everything handed to her im afraid and has a real reality check coming her way. I think it will be good for her though cause she really is a bright young woman and if she can learn this lesson early it will only benifit her.

And I thought it was the Neulasta shots I took during chemo that kept my white cell counts up.... Another myth busted.
I am working away, but hope to get out later and enjoy the sunshine. Will use needing a battery for my good watch as an excuse to get in some exercise.
Think I may use my $10 reward at World Market as an excuse for Easter Candy. I actually have enough in coupons so I need to expand my horizons beyond my PG Tips tea.
Back to work. Think I may stop in at the Wine Bar later as need some good red wine to get the taste of the evil stuff I drank last night out of my brain. - Claire

Goldie - actually you cannot imagine how much I would have loved to go and audition for that!!! I tell people it is my only real talent! It started when I was little and when we went out to dinner and my oldest sister would order Duck, well I just had to say in duck talk "Oh the poor widdle duck" - I have caught myself with grownups I don't know well at a resturant and it just pops out!!! OOOps
Gotta run but my kids are 14, 14 and D will be 13 next month. Oh boy 3 in Puberty and one in Menopause!~ it is a very hormonal home these days!

Kymn, We had fun, but toooooo much shopping to do so had to go to Arby's for a quick lunch! When we go out to lunch that has to be the focus, but when we go shopping first, then lunch gets left out! I have found a cute tea house I want to take her to next. I am sure your friend wouldn't mind a raincheck for going out, and just come over and visit at your house. Don't overdo, and if you are not having energy, you might be better not trying to do too much.
Wow.....so many offspring in nursing school, or about to go into nursing. That is great, as I think that profession will ALWAYS have a need, esp with us baby boomers getting on in years.

I would say I could sing, but then...I might be the only one saying that, and everyone would leave the lounge...lol. Cute about saying you gave up so much for bc, that you are covered for lent! I grew up episcopalian and we always gave up something too, but of course not anything that was toooooo hard to do without! I admire those that really adhere to that.
OK.....I know there are many more posts I need to read, BUT I need to skedaddle (boy thats an old word) and find the poifect lampshade to wear to our PARTAY. It might be *hard* (pun intended) to tell Pants and Jocks apart cause I heard a rumor that they also will be wearing a lampshade, but nothing else! Hmmmmmm......now we will know who here got REALLY close to them, if they can tell them apart! Let the fun begin.......

I already had my Bailey's Chocolate Mint (whoo, gotta be careful with that stuff). Had a good report on my bloodwork today-WBC's right in target range-now just have to keep it there til Thursday. Kymn, you had an idea...might try that tonight. DH would certainly be shocked, but if it is gonna help the WBC, ya know a guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do. Now if I can just stay awake. Is that pathetic or what. Maybe I need to practice sashaying...that's a great word.

Husker, sorry i knocked you down, did not see ya. So what I do is take a picture from the net, then highlight and copy the info in the browser bar, then click into the little green tree icon and paste it where it says "image url". I hope this helps. If not, just drink and let someone else 'spain it. We are not afraid of your bald head and choped chest, not us no no no! ... so...The other girls had to teach me as I was not getting it and kept trying to take pics from emails and facebook (that does not work cuz the photo must be on the internet). does that help?

I am ready for bed, having imbibed more than enough and full of tasty dinner. Except that DorK liked the fig/garlic/mustard sauce I made for the pork chops and wouldn't let me have any. Don't think I dare mention those "natural" Washington steaks I have in the fridge from yesterday's special at Met Market.
Those lampshades suck big time as don't show off my butt curves. Sorry everyone.
Am off to bed. Happy Easter to all who celebrate. I am cycling tomorrow to stay in shape for the fun times ahead. Didn't get the chocolate I wanted so still need to do that.

...bringing my spring lampshade to the PAR-TAY!!! Really tried to find one that looked like a tornado. We have had another night of just one T-storm; tornado warning; get to your safe place; torrential rain for 10 minutes at a time and HAIL, HAIL, HAIL!!!! So far, nothing really bad, but just enough to shred my last nerve!!!!--for last 3 hours!!! Have finally turned off tv--more roughness in the pipeline coming up from Okla!Earlier, I stepped out on the deck to watch the lightning and the dog came racing out with me...thundering and raining and I thought, wow--he really needs to pee bad.....nope! He raced out on the deck and snatched his current fav tennis ball and ran back in the house with it! He knows to "leave it" with his balls when he comes in the house but I was such a basket case with all the storm warnings that I didn't care if he brought his beloved ball in the house. Guess where it is now----he's long gone to bed and that friggin' ball is somewhere in MY bed!!!! LOL!!!
I'm here in safe cyber world having a blast in the pool and taking a break in a hammock while Jocks brings me iced dog beers--laughing at everyone's lampshade hats. In my real world, I've got flashlights lined up; have my portable oxygen all ready to turn on; have an extra tank; have turned off tv because next round is just across the state line in Okla so about an hour away from us......AND I forgot to mention that I hit the fukitol fountain on my way to the pool, so I'm really close to DILLIGAF.....
.....and Risky Wisky--when is Mother's Day???? Tunica, again???!!!! HHmmmmmmmmm!!!! And, dear HD--who likes the scratch off tickets, too----I had a good run tonight on $20 worth of $1 tickets !!!! Best one was a 2X $25 winner......don't get a good ticket very often and when one comes along, it is sooooo much fun!!!! Have almost $75 winners for DH to cash in!!!! Not to worry--I'm sharing the bounty with everyone in the HTL!!! LOL!!!

DD said she wasn't doing an easter egg hunt this year, since just her 2 would be there, so not sure when we will see them. YEAH it was a blast of a party, sorry for those who missed it; nothing could have been better than a big blowout partay at our fav HTL!!! Yes, lets all dress up for the Royal Wedding!! I saw that hats are required....think we could get in the church with our lampshade hats?? Nah.....prolly not....but we could go royal hat shopping today! Hard to find a good assortment in the states, but we will give it our best shot. Oh, I think I will put on Beans' beer belt under my shirt.....then we won't get thurstie while shopping!!!!
