I spend my summer days on LBI at Barnaget Light beach. Love the quietness of the town.
NS I'll give up Bruce for Matthew McConnahey. He's a guy we can have around the campfire for sure. If it gets too hot, well....he'll just have to take off his shirt!!
    Love those younger men...
Carrie stay away from the chips again....Find something or someone new to play with...

Intruder alert!! Oh my. I see a couple of bandits over the horizon. Got my gun loaded and ready if those dang lose cancer cells try to penetrate the circle.

Almost time for me to take an early morning nap. So Im gonna turn the camp over to others for a bit. But watch out for those Intruders. They are trying to sneak in.

Im here and as I was walking the perimeter I heard Bruce
singing a song. I wonder who he was singing to ?

    image

    Bruce Springsteen
    No Surrender
Well, we bursted out of class
Had to get away from those fools
We learned more from a 3-minute record, baby
Than we ever learned in school
Tonight I hear the neighborhood drummer sound
I can feel my heart begin to pound
You say you're tired and you just want to close your eyes
    And follow your dreams down

    Chorus:
Well, we made a promise we swore we'd always remember
    No retreat, baby, no surrender
Like soldiers in the winter's night
    With a vow to defend
    No retreat, baby, no surrender

Well, now young faces grow sad and old
And hearts of fire grow cold
We swore blood brothers against the wind
Now I'm ready to grow young again
And hear your sister's voice calling us home
    Across the open yards
Well maybe we'll cut someplace of own
With these drums and these guitars

'Cause we made a promise we swore we'd always remember
    No retreat, baby, no surrender
Blood brothers in the stormy night
    With a vow to defend
    No retreat, baby, no surrender

Now on the street tonight the lights grow dim
The walls of my room are closing in
There's a war outside still raging
You say it ain't ours anymore to win
    I want to sleep beneath
Peaceful skies in my lover's bed
With a wide open country in my eyes
And these romantic dreams in my head

Once we made a promise we swore we'd always remember
    No retreat, baby, no surrender
Blood brothers in a stormy night
    With a vow to defend
    No retreat, baby, no surrender

    Ohhhhh Ohhhhh Ohhhhh
    Ohhhhh Ohhhhh Ohhhhh
    Ohhhhh Ohhhhh Ohhhhh
    Ohhhhh Ohhhhh Ohhhhh

I was watching "Matlock" today. Yes, that goes to show you what kind of life I have lol. Anyways, there was a scene where they did a great Hoedown dance. Stood next to each other side by side (just like Riverdance). So I feel like we are doing a Hoedown dance - for you rhymee and all of our other sisters who have been dealing with some serious issues. We are stomping away. Gonna keep you all safe.

BTW: I love the kitties. I am so jealous.

This is for all. There is no stopping us, when we circle round. The beast will be stopped in his tracks.

    Listen, baby
    Ain't no mountain high
    Ain't no valley low
Ain't no river wide enough, baby
If you need me, call me
    No matter where you are
    No matter how far
    Just call my name
I'll be there in a hurry
    You don't have to worry

    'Cause baby,
There ain't no mountain high enough
    Ain't no valley low enough
    Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you

    Remember the day
    I set you free
    I told you
You could always count on me
From that day on I made a vow
I'll be there when you want me
    Some way,some how

    'Cause baby,
There ain't no mountain high enough
    Ain't no valley low enough
    Ain't no river wide enough
    No wind, no rain

    My love is alive
    Way down in my heart
    Although we are miles apart
If you ever need a helping hand
I'll be there on the double
    As fast as I can

    Don't you know that
There ain't no mountain high enough
    Ain't no valley low enough
    Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you

    Don't you know that
There ain't no mountain high enough
    Ain't no valley low enough
    Ain't no river wide enough

Good Morning everyone. I am back for my shift after I slept in the wagon all weekend. Who said herceptin and Zometa wasnt bad? It kicked my A$$! I sailed throught the first chemo with Epirubicin and Cytoxin and taxotere only to have herceptin get me. Geesh. I got it Friday morning and it was Saturday at 3 before I realized i was going to live. Geesh. I also started xeloda on Saturday morning and so far its not bad. Here's to a good fruit salad for breakfast for my part along with what everybody else wants to have. I am only wanting cool stuff so far but I am sure my appetite will kick back up. Lord knows it never stays gone too long.
I enjoyed the campfire songs as I slept in my wagon and I could feel the love surrounding everyone as we gather to fight this nasty beast. Thanks to everyone that kept my donkeys fed and dropped by to let my dogs out to do their business. Nothing like a strong group of women to have as friends. Amy

I love this circle. I hope and pray with all my heart, that if the time should ever arise that I need loving, supportive, compassionate arms to circle me, to keep me safe on the darkest part of the journey, that the wagons would circle 'round me.

What am I saying. This is the warmest, most loving group of women. I know it would happen, in a heartbeat.

Oh Amy and Mena: Darn that chemo. Im sorry both of you are having to go through this.

And Sherry! Yes I have to agree. The women here have been so wonderful and comforting. I just think you all are great.

We still have lots to do. The results for many are in and now they are having the side effects to the chemo. So I brought some crocheted blankets. You all can cuddle up in a blanket. Will make you warm chicken soup.

And I love poker. Any kind, any day, any way.

DebbieFive, this was supposed to be a positive day and apparently the negative PM's have been active. I didn't know this for sure but suspected it in my post on Sat. You are right, this circle of wagons was about love, compassion and encouragment and a place of peace. Apparently this was a very threatening site to some. I do hope Mena, Amy, Sherry and Peggy (and probably some more very soon) will at least come back and know that this circle of wagons is one of LOVE. I just want to say a big Thank You to everyone who understood this site and the blessing it provided to many; many of our sisters who were the inspiration for this thread has stated what it has meant to them. May each of you have brighter days. I, for one, am so sorry that you are so hurt. I believe the wagon circle has some broken wheels at the moment but I trust they can be repaired real soon.

Nanium: I might not be good at cookin but repairing and fixing things? Im good at that. So those broken wheels will be fixed shortly.

We stand together strong. To support all of our wonderful sisters who are have difficulties. Arm locked in arm. Side by side. We will protect you. We will offer you comfort and peace.

Hateful PM's should be reported to Melissa, if I were to receive a hateful PM I would probably post it for all to see, if it so hateful that it can't be said in the discussion boards then maybe it's something that shouldn't have been said at all ...we need to stick together. If anyone would take the time to go back to the very beginning of this thread and read every post they would only see love, caring and compassion!
I considered staying away but changed my mind...I am here to support anyone who needs my support, to offer a hug, some advice if I'm able, a joke, whatever is needed.
Yes, we have some broken wheels, and hearts,it is time to mend them all and keep them mended. I know that I am making this sound much simpler than it actually is but I refuse to give up and desert anyone in need.
My guns are loaded and I'm sticking with our circle...doing whatever I can to protect our sisters from harm.
    Hugs all

Remember me? My wagon is white with a red cross. Im the medic. So all of you gals who are dealing with side effects from your new chemo - come on over. I will make you warm, put a cool wash cloth on your forehead, get you pain and nausea meds. Do whatever I can to make you comfortable and help you through this.

You need a back rub? You got it. You want to talk, Im all ears. But like I said, just dont make me cook, cause Im really really bad at it.
