Deb, you know I've just been through this thyroid thing and I can answer a lot of questions you might have - just pm me. Hugs & pos vibes coming your way. The no iodine diet was the worst part of the RAI for me. The surgery was in & out of the hosp in 24 hours. Nothing like bc.

For the rest of you...I'm bringing the music!

    I can't get my image to post....URGH!

Your links can't be on your personal computer (c:\documents...). YOu have to post your files on the internet somewhere for them to be acessible. Hugs

Your internet provider probably has some storage space set aside for your use. Find out where that is and copy your file there and then you can link to it.

Okay...I've been with you girls for how long now and it took me like an hour to post my Bruce pic...but I finally did it. I feel like I need a drink!

Elf...I did the non-iodine diet for 10 days prior to my radioactive iodine treatment for thy ca in June. I had to eat only fresh fruit, veggies & meats that I prepared for myself. I could use non-iodized salt for flavor (it is not a no salt diet). You can only have 30 - 40 mg of iodine per meal. That equated to a snack bag of carrots prepackaged from the grocery store. I just avoided anything prepared: nothing boxed, bagged, canned, frozen or wrapped. No dairy, no eggs, no bread products from the bakery isle. No chocolate or sweets. For breakfast I was able to find some shredded wheat at the Natural Foods store that had no iodine. I was able to snack on unsalted peanuts and/or fruit. Lunch was unsalted peanut butter on unsalted rice cakes. Bland and blah, but the 10 days went pretty quickly. Dinner was easier as I would cook chicken or a small amount of lean beef on the grill with non-iodized salt & some potatoes (no skin allowed). Veggies were fine at any time except spinach. I made my own dressings from the thy ca website and had a lot of salad.
That's about it...like I said, bland & blah, but it went pretty fast.

Hope everyone plans on an early start tomorrow a.m.---gotta be at the surgery center by 7. Crawling into my sleeping bag with a Lunesta and a book---think I'll sleep?

Jeannie - we'll all be there. If the doc is disturbed by our presence, tell him you're not going without us. Sweet dreams. Listen to the sounds of late summer, the Cicadas making sweet music and your sisters humming along.

Hi All, Well I'm here for the overnight shift. Wow, so much has happened today. Hope you don't mind but I stopped by the chuck wagon and grabbed some grub before I took on my shift......my compliments to all of the cooks, everything was delicious. And Shel, I ate your share of the squash, it was really good. Oh, did the dishwasher ever get around to washing the dishes or has he been umm.......too busy?

Debby, I'm so sorry about your news, but you know that we are holding you close in our circle, you are in my prayers.

Jeannie, I hope that everything goes great tomorrow, it sounds like the news that you got was a little better than before. I'm here all night keeping guard, and keeping the beast away, you'll have to let me sleep on the way to the surgery tomorrow, but I'll be there holding your hand.

Nan, Nothing has happened to Rachel, the thread that you are talking about in the Inspiration/Prayer Forum was started in early 2005. Rachel is RoxwooodAgain, she's still around. She was posting in the Debate Forum today, I think or yesterday.

Oh and btw Nam, I have the same problem as you are having on this site only. I have a little yellow caution symbol that says, Done, but with errors on page. It is on every page on this site, but like with you, I'm only having it on this site. I don't know why either?

Vickie, I am so sorry that there has been no news on Trenton, but you are all in my prayers. I'm so sorry, I cannot imagine how difficult this is for you all.

I hope all of our sisters in the circle are resting well tonight, and that tomorrow will be a better day for you all.

    Love and Hugs,
    JoJo

I ahve been away from the circle all day! Is there any food left? Anyone got any cat food too?

I am glad to see Brenda back! SO happy you could get back on!!!

Debby, it will be ok! You can handle this. YES YOU CAN!

Jeannie, prayers and strength being sent to you for an easy time tomorrow. May you only have good news tomorrow!!!

While I was out I stopped by the General Store and picked us up some down comforters to keep us warm as these nights get cooler...
I have a selection of soothing teas for the girls who need some soothing and peace...
I got more chocolate... so many kinds I can't even list them...
And a guide to the stars... it lists what stars are visible each night so we can look for them when we can't sleep or are up late having a cozy talk or sing along.

    on duty...
but I have to eat first.. please someone tell me there is something other than squash??

I was going to offer the Red Curry Chicken I made tonight, but guess what? It has green beans, onion, broccoli and YELLOW SQUASH, ZUCCHINI- sorry to the squash haters. Everything tastes good with red curry and coconut milk.

Sleep tight sweet sisters. Tomorrow the sun will come up and we will be grateful for another day. I hope it is a peaceful one for all.

I want to offer this song up, even if you are not a Fanilow, Barry says it so well.

I Made It Through The Rain
    Barry Manilow

    We dreamers have our ways
    Of facing rainy days
    And somehow we survive

    We keep the feelings warm
    Protect them from the storm
    Until our time arrives

Then one day the sun appears
And we come shining through those lonely years

I made it through the rain
    I kept my world protected
I made it throught the rain
I kept my point of view
I made it through the rain
    And found myself respected
    By the others who
    Got rained on too
    And made it through

When friends are hard to find
    And life seems so unkind
    Sometimes you feel so afraid

    Just aim beyond the clouds
    And rise above the crowds
    And start your own parade

'Cause when I chased my fears away
That's when I knew that I could finally say

I made it through the rain
    I kept my world protected
I made it throught the rain
I kept my point of view
I made it through the rain
    And found myself respected
    By the others who
    Got rained on too
    And made it through

We have all been "rained on" Remember you are protected, by the others who, got rained on too and made it through.

Good Morning All: The early morning shift has arrived and is ready. Coffee is brewing over the campfire. Most of our sisters are sleeping. The sun is just about to have its first peak over the horizon.

Jeannie: I'm especially thinking of you this morning. Ya gotta be scared, but dont worry sister, we are with you all the way. So doing the biopsy, just remember we are standing around you and I will be holding your hand.

Debbyfive: Im sending you healing light. Yet another battle to fight. But we will be there for you. My friend has hyperthyroid and a goiter. They also gave her the iodine treatment. And she did very well. But waiting until December is the pits. Did they tell you what % of the carotid aretery is blocked? Sometimes, there is a simple procedure to repair this. So Im just wondering what they are recommending for you.

Mena: How are you doing hun. I hope today is a good day for you.

Robin: From someone who had taxotere - hugs. But you will get through this. We are right beside you. Making sure you feel loved, warm, and comfortable along the way.

To all my other sisters, and there are so many of you, who are having difficult times, Im so glad you are here with us. We are strong in numbers and that gives us power. Whatever we can do to help. We will be there.

Well, my stomach is grumbling. Think Im gonna make an old fashioned breakfast. Start with bacon - oh I know its bad for you, but every once in a while ya gotta cheat. And nothing smells better than fresh bacon cooking over a campfire. Finish it over with some eggs, grits for our southern sisters, and fresh fruit.

Good morning all my sisters. Hoping today is a good day.

Good morning Jasmine. Well I just finished the pot of coffee. Chocolate just sounds to good. I think Im gonna take a hike and get a Mocha frappachino from Starbucks.

Ahh, I see slowly but surely, the smell of bacon cooking in the air is stimulating some of our sisters to come to the circle. Sleepy eyes and all.

Jeannie - sending lots of power, love, and hope getting through the biopsy.

Okay, I still don't get the grass thing. But I can tell you why I still get up at 5 am on the weekends. Its because my dog has no clue on the difference between 'workday' / 'no workday'.

She insists we rise and shine regardless. What we do for our pets!

Jasmine: There are lot of things you can do with grass. Sitting my a campfire and chewing on an overgrown piece. Of course there are all different kinds. Some you can put in brownies, some you can dry and smoke. All different kinds lol.

<Standing behind vera as she whips up the brownies hoping I can look pitiful enough and she will let me lick the spoon or the bowl> Nothing like a kid at heart. Then again you are only as old as you act.

Keeping everyone in my thoughts today and sending positive energy to all the women. We cant let this nasty beast win,, we wont we just wont do it.

The bacon smell got me up and moving this morning for sure. It actually got my little dog up and moving and when he decides its time to get up there is no changing his mind. I hope my dear friends bring me back some starbucks coffee since they left out before I was up and moving. I like a little coffee with my cream just in case you are wondering.

I can mix up a batch of fresh biscuits if we need those this morning also. I also have fresh apple butter if anybody is interested.

Awww the smell of fall is in the air. Those down comforters will really come in handy. I hope the rain stays away or we will be stringing tarps around our campfire to be able to stay dry and still be able to socialize.
