Yes...we sit on top of the hill overlooking the lake and the city of Ithaca...It's very hilly here and I love it.

i also love those chocolate covered beans from starbucks. Talk about an energy shot. I could have used those on Sunday and Monday when I was dragging about letting chemo take control over me.

Nice place newvickie. Do you have a window seat?

We saved you plenty of bacon Deb. Might even be enough for us to have BLT's for lunch.

Hey Newvickie---you're up by Rogan's Corner! My niece went to IC as a vocal performance major, her hubby as a stage performance major and my daughter started out (in desperation upon asrrival) at Franco's as a bus girl. Three weeks later they gave her the keys and she was assistant manager! Her now hubby managed the pizza place at Rogan's. Sure is a beautiful place to work!

    Hey Silvergirl!!!
Your home!!! How did it go? I've been thinking of you all day.
Yes, I work just above Ithaca College and Rogans Corners. We have students here that volunteer all through the school year...it's great.
Hope your doing well...B9B9B9B9B9B9...they are supposed to let you know today correct?
Still looking for someone to go to the fair...I am determined...maybe I'll even try it alone, just me and my little guy.
    Hugs,
    Vickie

Hey Amy...no window seat for me. Got stuck with an interior office thats more like a cave with florescent lighting. I did make them repaint a year of so ago and insisted on one red wall...I got it too!! I do have all the photo's of the different gorges and falls on my walls so I can pretend.

No window seat for me either. I just have to pretend that I know whats going on in the outside world. Sometimes I hear a noise and wonder if it was thunder or something else. Here lately there has been no rain so I knew it wasnt thunder. Maybe one day I can get a window seat but right now I am content to pretend like I know what is going on outside.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and hope to hear some good results from silvergirl.

Oh my! Keylime pie. You have my interest. I just love it. So I thought maybe tonight I could make some Lobster and shrimp spaghetti sauce. Its an Italian favorite. Use LInguine noodles. And then have some nice wine. Of course finish it off with brownies.

Sorry, Im not sharing the keylime pie lol. Call me a hoggie selfisher.

Thinking tonight I'll sit on the confused couch and eat with Nicki...sounds delicious, then I'll head to see Susan for CHOCOLATE!!! I'll bring the roses, I have a garden full!

Phoooey, phooey and c***! I wrote you guys the longest e-mail and lost it-----stupid pain meds.

Tonite's menu is the best yet. Am I the only one who has wondered if we should make our own cookbook? The BC Wagontrain Cookbook. It wouldn't even have to be 1000 Ways to Cook Organic Cabbage, Broccolli and Brussels Sprouts (unless, of course, you know a good way to do that.)

I retired from a large company that still lets us pick our Christmas present from a list of 70 items every year. One of them this year is a chocolate fountain! So not practical but I think I'm done with practical. Chocolate orgy at my house in December! That is a tad too long to wait for dessert so I'll bring a Mocha Cappuccino Cheesecake for dessert tomorrow nite. Or whenever my eyes decide to focus again.

So many of you wonderful ladies pm'd me and asked me to let them know how it went but I am having some difficulty seeing after this a.m.'s biopsy so will give you the abbreviated version here. If you're squeemish or still eating key lime pie stop reading here. I won't go into the gory details but it IS my eye.

Didn't have full two weeks (try 2 days) to get aspirin and Motrin out of my system so bleeding was a problem---had to make what amounts to little teeny episiotomies in my lids to relieve pressure so I look like the loser in a hatchet fight. No real pain but I'm seeing double so keep the bad eye closed since it only opens about 1/4" anyway. Should start improving Monday or Tuesday. Lab was backed up due to holiday weekend so no results this afternoon despite onc's request. I have to go back to eye surgeon early Tuesday but doubt he will have them either. (Have to go to pre-op workup for second revisions Tuesday afternoon---beginning to feel like 40 miles of bad road.) Surgeon says it is definitely tumor but there are lots of different kinds of benign eye tumor. Onc says could be lymphoma---never thought I'd see the day when I'd pray for a lymphoma but they are infinitely easier to get rid of.

I felt all of you wonderful ladies following me around this a.m.---at one point thought of you all and started to cry---but salty tears help to dry the wounds! This thread just gets better and better---you have no idea how invaluable you all are when you're stuck between a rock and a hard place. Hope I can occassionally help you all too---even if it is with just a well placed stupid remark.

Keeping busy this weekend---going to see the new great nephew in Ithaca this weekend and take my daughter out for her birthday---have warned her about the hatchet fight thing, she'll probably freak anyway. Then Monday it's the closing day of the Great New York State Fair---usually an excuse to look at the cute bunnies, drink the best chocolate milk you have EVER tasted, watch horse shows and eat Italian sausage! Doc says it's OK as long as I wear a hat and sunglasses to keep sun/dust out of my eye.

Sleep well everyone. Let the crickets sing you a lullabye.

You are in our circle of protection tonight so you sleep well knowing that we are keeping you safe and sound.

You've talked about so many good things, but I will admit, the chocolate is what finally drew me in. Has anyone tried the Hershey's extra dark chocolate with macadamia nuts and cranberries? I bought one tonight, but haven't opened it up yet.

Thought I pop in early tonight. I am in desperate need of sleep - darn this lack of estrogen and I just haven't given in to take sleeping pills.

I've got to tell you that since I came to this site there have sure been some rough traveling days. Silvergirl, Mena, DebbieFive, RobinTN, Pennylane and others my brain is to tired to name and to the ever growing NEW sisters - you truly have become my family, my sisters, and I am glad that you feel the love and warmth of this circle - I think I described it once before as a wedding ring; the circle is continuous it has no beginning and no end.

Earlier around the fire, the sisters that have gotten to do away with their wigs brought them out to bring a few smiles to the sisters that need them. Mercy, someone came out with a Dolly Parton wig and the boobs to match which brought lots of laughter. I never wore the two I bought but put on my clown wig that some friends gave me. Some had purchased wigs the same color and length as their own and others changed colors and length. Strange but I saw an awful lot of blond - guess everyone wanted to see if it is true that blonds have more fun. Along with the wigs it has been a chocolate night!!!!

The fire is warm and I want to draw close. There is a wind blowing and it is one that just chills you to your bones and you just need to feel warm and save. The wind and chill to me represents the pain of seeing sisters hurt by bad news and the fire represents the warmth of being surrounded in love and prayer. I want the wind to stop; to only be a gentle breeze on weary faces.

To my sisters we've shared so much and we have stood strong.
As I sit at the fire, these words come to mind:

Thank you to all of my closest friends
    and comrades for being consistent
and not giving up on me.

So many memories and so many miles
The road that stretches behind us
We’ve had some laughter and our share
    Of tears
But all these moments unite us

I’ll be your friend for a lifetime
Against the wind and the rain of every season
Won’t walk away in the hard times
    I will be your friend
I’m saying I will be your friend

Sure as the river runs to the sea
High as the mountain that reaches
You were there by my side till the end
(and) helped me on my feet again

So in the valley walk on
Don’t have to face it alone
    Cause in the hard times
    We keep growing strong
As we learn, as we live
That we live when we give (Michael W.Smith)

Hand in hand we sisters walk - none will ever be alone.
    Rest well.

    Love and Blessings, Brenda

Naiam, another beautiful post and images to see us through the night.

Tonight's dinner sounds divine. I have had a long hard day in the wagon repair shop and have missed my sisters.

Key lime? Oh yes, yes please.

Jeannie...oh you dear sweet thing. You are very brave. How I pray you have 'one of those many benign tumors behind the eye" - please Lord make it so. You rest easy tonight and the whole weekend with us.

Robin, I hope you have gotten some relief from your side effects.... you need a peaceful evening yourself. Come sit a little cloer to the fire.

Amy how are you feeling today? Are your chemo s/e's easing up a bit?? I hope so!

Denise? What is happening with you my dear friend? What are the plans?

Mena and Penny, we haven't had an update from you two... please let us know how you are holding up.

Debby, I know you are scared and I know you are worn out. But come sit a little closer to the fire. Have some of this unbelievable pie. We will wait out your results together.

For all the sisters going through tests and treatments and worrying and who are just plain tired out...

Come and sit by the fire tonight Sisters
Do not worry, in the circle there is no fear
Bring your cares to us and we will embrace you
Our love is for everyone here

    Jeannie-

Get yourself a chocolate fountain girlfriend! I got my Mom one for Christmas last year and we have had a BLAST with it! and yes, I do buy gifts for other people that I want...but that is another story. My mom is a serious chocolate fiend. We took a huge lunch...salads, chips, deli trays etc and the fountain to my last chemo treatment. It is a small hospital and since my dad works there I know tons of people. We invited everyone to a last day of chemo party and had a blast. It was a HUGE hit.
Thanks for sharing your info on treatment. I'm still chanting B9B9B9B9B9B9

I hope and all the girls inside the circle is feeling warm and happy tonight.

    Hugs to all

    Deb C.

Can we encircle my friend, Tim, He was dx 2 wks ago with a cancer in his stomach, it had affected his pancrease, but it is not pancreatic cancer
He had sx, on 8/24, today he got the bad news, it has spread. It is a cancer, not responsive to chemo or rads? I don't understand that, right now they are giving him tx for the Hep A virus? I will add more when I know more, but for now can we encircle him, pray for him and wish him well. I know this is o/t, but you all prayed for my friend Paula and son... they are doing great.
