So Funny, but yesterday, at a pre-teen concert by the Cheetah Girls (from the Disney channel) two of their songs made me think of this circle and one even brought tears to eyes. How about a little morning energizer to get the blood flowing, if you're up to it dance along...

    "Cheetah Sisters"

Theres a time when we all choose
To either quit or follow through
    To just loose faith
    Or trust your heart
To somehow lead you through the dark
You're not the only one who's dreamin'
And who needs help to carry on
We might get lonely but we're not alone
    Cause we are sisters
    We stand together
We make up one big family though we dont look the same
    Our spots are different
    Different colors
    We make each other stronger
    That ain't ever gonna change
    We're cheetah girls cheetah sisters
Gotta do what we gotta do
Got the brains, got the power and we speak the truth
We're from everywhere around the world
So ya best respect the cheetah girls
    Dancin, singin from our birth
Workin hard for what we deserve
Trying not to break the rules
Cause mama didnt raise no fools
It may seem we're only dreamin
And we need help to carry on
Its good to know we're not alone
    Cause we are sisters
    We stand together
We make up one big family though we dont look the same
    Our spots are different
    Different colors
    We make each other stronger
    That ain't ever gonna change
    Believe it mister
    We're cheetah girls cheetah sisters
    Someone's always there behind
To catch us if we fall
    Cause we are sisters
    We stand together
We make up one big family though we dont look the same
    Our spots are different
    Different colors
    We make each other stronger
    That ain't ever gonna change
    Believe it mister
    We're cheetah girls cheetah sisters

Hey CG (short for Circle Girls)...106 of us? 25,000 hits? And we're called "exclusive" hahahahah what a bunch of bs...

    I don't have much time...taking the kiddos to the dentist...so I didn't take notes...but I'm jonesing for a chocolate fountain...

Pauline...so sorry for all you are dealing with. I will pray for you and your son and your neighbors...They need it the most, the losers...

Anyway, what I wanted to post was that I spoke to Debby5 yesterday on the phone. She's home. I didn't take notes...so she'll post, I hope, about the misdiagnosis and the new diagnosis and how she's now on 3 IV antibiotics for a viral infection in her heart!!! There is no blockage as she was told before...one side of her heart is at 40% capacity and the other is fine...so please keep the prayers going...she sounds strong, though, and it was great to talk to her...

I wanted to bring this to everyone's attention because it's a hot topic at bcmets.org right now...heart disease...so, even though we have/had/are recovering from bc....remember heart disease is the #1 killer of women. Period.

So if you experience extreme fatigue, shortness of breath, anything you find weird, don't just attribute it to bc...remember our chemos are toxic; some very toxic to the heart, and as women, heart disease is statistically our grimmest reaper...ugh...don't want to bring the Circle down...just thought you should know...

And wait til you hear what our Puppy has to say about her misdiagnosis...I see lawsuit all over the place...

I'm surprised she hasn't posted by now and now I'm worried. So, after I call her I'll let you all know what's up...

I have a card here for Robin...does anyone have her snail mail? Can you pm me with it? Lord, I hope she's OK...

OK, I have to run...well, walk...

    Any news on Trenton?

Have a great day, sisters...Welcome to the new CG's and my prayers and best wishes for everyone here (and not here as well)...Mena...xo

prayers and warm healing thoughts all around the fire...I'll be off to circle the group...guarding against intruders...(you know colds, flu and anything wlse in the air)

    Good Morning circle girls,

I was away for the weekend taking care of things around the farm but missed you all.

Kathy-Your neighbor sounds like a real jerk. Just wait till he wakes up and cant get out of his driveway because there are 106 wagons blocking him in. I feel certain our donkeys, horses and mules will leave him a few speed bumps in his driveway also. The nerve of that man. What goes around comes around though and he will pay for it. I am also thinking of your son and please give him a big hug from the circle girls.

chemosabi-man you sure get up early. You would think with all that morning quiet time you would have that resume done,,nag nag nag. The class sounds wonderful but like others have said you have been in class for a while and nobody would know breast cancer better than someone that has lived through it. Go for it girl.

NS-I also missed the memo on the cut off time for baileys. Glad to hear you had a great time at the party.

Mena, glad to see you are doing well and thanks for the update. A misdiagnosis WOW! Glad to know it didnt require surgery though. Hopefully the antibiotics will start working and get rid of that nasty infection.

Newvickie-Any news of Trenton? I, like you, are still holding out that he will be found with somebody else.

MB-Taco salad sounds wonderful and it is warm around here today so a salad will be nice. This weather needs to decide what it is going to do. We are having a hot week predicted here in the 80's. Hot weather and hot flashes just doesnt cut it. Come on winter,,,save me!

AlaskaDeb-Enjoyed your letter from your friend. She is right, you have alot going on and forgetting something is nothing. Dont beat yourself up over it. I love the ending,,"solder on". Thats great.

ChristineK loved the song and it is very fitting for us.

Sheri-thinking of you and your upcoming PET scan. things like that does get to us because we are always worried about what will be found. Its understandable and we have all been there.

Congrats to everyone that participated in the walk.

Geesh, I know I have left so many out but didnt have time to take notes and the memory just doesnt work like it used to. At least I have the chemo excuse I can use.

    Will check in later. Amy

sweet sisters, thank you all for you prayer and healing thoughts!! as my sweet sister Mena, told you, i have been soooooooo misdiagnosed by doctors!!! i will be seeing a NEW DOCTOR( give me a break) on what we do next!!! the infection has damaged a large portion of my heart, for now they have me on---PRINIVIL----ZESTRIL--and ANTIBIOTICS!!! dont think this will cure the problem, But they HOPE it will stengten the part of the heart that has been damaged. PLEASE ALWAYS GET SECOND AND THIRD OPINIONS- NEVER let a doctor tell you, it is only scar tissue, UNLESS You are confident in your doctor. some things i choose not to tell you, because We have MANY MEDS. We have to take, BUT, anytime you feel like one of the side affects might be a problem, MAKE SURE THEY LISTEN!!!!!!! my arteries are crystal clear, HMMMMMMM was'nt that my problem???? after 3 stress test in 6 years wouldn't you think ONE OF THEM, would show somthing wrong????????? You know the ordeal we go through before surgery, WHY, has my heart been taken over with a infection that may not be able to be fixed?????? I leave you with this SWEET SISTERS, YOU ARE SMART, MY situation has nothing to do with Yours, JUST NEVER EXCEPT ADVICE, IF YOU LEAVE WITH STILL MORE ???????????? Love you all, and please know you are ALL in my prayers, and also know this-- GOD HEALS!! Love, Puppy

So glad to hear from you, Debby. What a nightmare. I guess we really have to pay attention to what we are told and be our own advocates. What an awful thing to go through, though. Hopefully the meds will do the job.

Good song by the Cheetah's. Thanks for sharing the lyrics.

Hope to hear from Robin soon.

Hello everyone and good evening. Boy things sured changed over the week-end. went for a wonderful walk in the forest today. the leaves are definitely changing color. Some trees were golden. It was beautiful. There were storm clouds in the background, but the sun was shining brightly on the trees. Gave a very eerie appearance.

Seasons - change. Thats what its all about.

Didnt take many note tonight. I didnt listen to my own advice. Caught my husbands cold. So Im gonna go lay down and try to sleep through this.

debbyfive: Im so relieved and glad to hear from you. Viral infection in your heart sounds pretty serious, but thank God you didnt neet open heart surgery. So just calm down and go to the medic tent. I cant be there cause I'M QUARANTEENED. But I know liz and the other sisters will make sure your ok and give you strenght to fight this infections.

Purplemb: You are too funny. A black belt! Wow, I am really impressed.

Now that I know what I want to do career wise, I will prepare for it. Im gonna network and make friendships at the cancer center, and gotta get certified. It like for you. Saying "I do Karate" ok - thats nice. Saying "I am a black belt." Thats impressive. Gotta be impressive to get a high profile job.

Anyways - tonight for dinner is a big old pot of chile. Vegeterian and Chunky type. Have all kinds of toppings. Onions, cheddar cheese. Hot giardine, crackers, sour cream, and a whole lot more.

Hope you all have a wonderful evening. See ya in the morning.

Thank you all! What a wonderful welcome!
I have the PS consult about possible reconstruction, but mostly about this excess bunch of tissue & skin left from my surgery after my mastectomy. The intent I think was that it culd be used later in recon.

I don't know how I feel about recon. part of me thinks I should do it as I have this other old, saggy boob left where I just had a lumpectomy but then another part of me is saying NO MORE SURGERY! I don't know how I feel.

Hi all, just checking in to let you know I am thinking about all the circle girls (106! wow!) and holding you all close to my heart. Debbyfive, so glad to hear that you did not need open heart surgery, and I am hoping that this latest development will lead to better things for you. Kathy, welcome to the group and I am glad to meet you! Pauline, welcome to you also. My heart goes out to you and what you have to endure with other people being so insensitive. I hope you find the center of the circle a warm and comforting place to be!

Girls, I went back to work today and I am completely BEAT. I am heading to my wagon early tonight! Sweet dreams to all and see you tomorrow!

Kristin, you have to be extra EXTRA careful around GERMS now that you are in treatment. Your immune system is going to be going down for a while. It will be at its lowest on day 10 after your infusion, but you are prone to infection any time now that you are in chemo.

Keep some of that Purell hand sanitizer handy at work and in the car. I don't know what kind of work you do, but if you work with the public, try to keep your distance and spray things down with Lysol.

And breathe only when absolutely necessary in crowds!!!!

So glad to see that Debby is doing so well! Go kick some doc butt! And i am very sorry that Robin is feeling poorly. I hope she checks in soon.

    I LOVED the cheetahs!

And Chili sounds great for dinner!

I am going to start duty early tonight... the circle needs some extra care taken 'round the perimeter. Took my Kryptonite this morning so I am good to go!

BTW- I saw a chocolate fountain for sale in a catalogue today for only $98. NOT BAD!

For all our Jewish Circle Girls, hoping you had a prayerful and peaceful Yom Kippur and that the new year is filled with joy.

Just wanted to drop in on this cool and crisp fall evening. I don't post as much anymore but just know I come by to check on you, to see who is in the inner circle and put all of you in my prayers each night.

This thread deserves a 5 star rating and I have tried to do that, but it won't change. Newer post get started and it gets a 5 star!!! Sisters, something is wrong and this circle of encouragement, warmth, humor, and prayers truly deserves that 5 star.

I pray that your tomorrow will be better and that you can enjoy the change of the season. Breast Cancer diagnosis, test or treatments are seasons also. We all circle, walk forward into that new season - don't loose hope or get discouraged - your new season is just around the bend.
    Blessings, Brenda

Its morning again. Dragged myself outta bed. Could easily kill my husband for giving me this cold. So I have been sick with a cold in the last month 2 times. Think my immune system needs a boost.

Susan: Thank you so much for letting us know Robin is ok. Darn cold virus, probably knocked her on her but cause of the chemo.

Kristin: I can really understand you feeling tired after working. Pretty hard to work while getting chemo. I did, but it wasnt easy. I think the fatigue was the hardest thing for me.

Oh what storms we had last night! the lightning lit up the skies. Even had some hail. The storms are over now. The ground is wet, and the air smells really nice. Alot of leaves fell off the trees from the rain. So here I sit, by the campfire, drinking coffee, with my pink pj's and boots! I am a sight to see.

Debbyfive: So glad you are doing better. And even happier you can eat anything you want.

Kathy: Yes, there are mixed emotions that go along with deciding on reconstruction or not. I had mine done the same time as my bil. mast. And Im glad that I did have it done. But there were many times, I thought to myself, why? I could have very easily gone without reconstruction. You have time. You dont need to make the decision today or tomorrow. Take each step. Hear what the PS has to say. Good luck with your decision.

NS: I say lets take that chocolate fountain and bring it to the circle. Dont have to pay anything. We are in cyberspace lol. But I want one that is big enough to jump into! And yes, Happy New Year to so many of my friends.

Brenda: Oh my, I am so happy to see you. I have missed you so much. Glad you decided to come to the circle and sit down a bit by the campfire. I dont understand the star rating thing too much. I too have tried to rate it 5 star but it comes up 4.

OK ladies, remember Im in quaranteen. This cold is highly contagious and is spreading fast. So Kristen - do be careful. I switched to tea. Why is it that tea always tastes good when you have a cold? And I did the goofiest thing. I put three cloves in the cup with my tea bag. Wow, does this taste good - and it makes my sore throat feel good. I wonder if the cloves had anything to do with it.

Time to go back to my wagon. Wont be walking the perimeters today. Ya know what they say about a cold. 3 days coming, 3 days with ya, and 3 days leaving. Im only in day 2!! Darn anyways.

    Talk to ya later.

    Nicki

Nosurrender - Thank you for letting me know about Day 10! I knew my immune system would be depressed but wasn't sure when it was the lowest. Today is Day 8 and I am going today for blood work so I should find out how my counts are doing. In the meantime, I have Purell and sanitizing wipes everywhere! I have a desk job and I am able to attend most meetings by phone (instead of going to a conference room), so unless my counts say otherwise I should be OK to work, I think. And who knows what my two germy boys are bringing home from school everyday! I make them wash up often but I don't think I will be able to completely get away from the germs! I have never been very concerned with germs, but now I feel like they are out to get me! LOL!

Good morning...missed my nightly check-in - was Internet disabled last night - so here I am playing hooky at my desk for a moment. Thanks for news of Robin; just getting over a cold myself, and I'm long out of chemo, so sending healing vibes her way. Splurging on cappucinos and lattes this morning...alas, minus the Bailey's! Standing a bit behind the fire - DC is supposed to be in the 80's today.

Hey...I don't like a 4-star rating here...I tried for 5, too, and it didn't register...everyone hahahah...so childish...rate us a 5 every time you can...I'm taking this to the authorities hahahaha...I mean, come on...we have professionals, nurses, blackbelts, metsters, chocolate fountains, guns, animals, music, the most compassion on the boards...oh, and the food alone is five star! Hmmmmmm...this is what happens when you're too damn tired to do anything really productive hahahahah...

I hope everyone (and there's too many right now) that is feeling crappy feels better soon....Nicki...we can't have our medic sick!

$98 for a chocolate fountain NS? Does that include the chocolate?

Sooooo relieved to hear about Robin..and Brenda! Where have you been? I missed you...

Oh, I have a special someone for the center...her name is Laurie...she's on the boards here...her husband is a dirtbag. She is scared, but strong...she needs our TLC and he needs a beating...Mary Beth? Please indulge...If you want the low-down on this bottom-feeding, scum-sucking loser (like my ex)...Laurie's posted in "Moving Beyond"...You'll see my colorful responses...

She is doing the right thing but she is terrified, a metster, and is going through what I went through not too long ago...please if you have a chance, track her down and wish her well. She is trying very hard to hold it together as her heart falls apart...I know too well how she feels...thanks, chiquitas!

    Now...on to that 5-star thing...love to all...Mena...xo

about that 5 star thing. I have PM'd Melissa to ask how the 5 star rating happens. Let's see what response we get.

Meanwhile I am so jealous of those of you basking in 80 degree weather. We are sitting here at 40 and rain coming. No fun, just cold and damp.

Am so relieved to hear that Debbi and Robin are OK. DEb, you must be going thru quite a bit with viruses to your heart. Let's pray for quick recovery.

For those just getting breakfast together there are hot cinnamon buns (with or without rainins and nuts) to go with latte and peach ginger herbal tea.

Heating up the chili for latter. Have two pots going, one vegetarian and the other with beef for the carnivores.

Off to put big papers together for a grant.

Morning all...Haven't been here for a couple of days, so I'm not even attempting to take notes!

Deb5.. so glad you didn't have to have the surgery but the misdiagnosis sucks.

Nicki... get back in that quaranteen tent! I've made you some nice chicken soup or have some wonderful veggie soup.

MB! Way to go girl. Black belt. Now I know who to call.

Kristin... do be careful. It's so easy to catch something while on chemo. Lots of hand washing and sanitizer.

Robin... glad to hear you're okay. I live by my calendar. If I didn't have it, I'd never know where I was suppossed to be.

Pauline, welcome and nice to meet you. You and your son join the inner circle and we will keep you comfortable.

Kathy, I too did recon with my bilateral masts. I'm not sorry I did it, but it is a process. You will make the right decision for you.

I know I've missed many, so know you're in my thoughts.

I need to go sanitize the medic tent since Nicki's been there and check on everyone who isn't feeling well.

    Hugs and Prayers

Hello hello! I just crawled out of bed, still pretty sick with this cold. Wish I had a coloring books and crayons, color/paint by numbers!! Something, anything.

We had big storms here last night, lots of flooding. 4.4 inches recording in Winfield which is only 7 miles from where I live. Supposed to get more storms tonight. Hard to believe though, the sky is a pretty blue and the sun is shining. Thats chicago for ya, the weather is unpredictable.

Filled up my pot with some of that chicken soup and Im crawling back to bed.

    Talk to you all later.
