TIME TO CIRCLE THE WAGONS GIRLS

Yesterday was really a sad day. Knowing that two more women have died from cancer is heartbreaking. And, Ovarian Cancer, another disease a woman should not have to fear.
To everyone, hope all will go better today.

Dear Circle Girls, What a rotten week for our precious sisters here. I'm so sorry for all of the pain and heartache that is all around the circle tonight.
NS: I am so sorry about your friend, I know that you're hurting and her family is in pain, this disease just never stops taking those we love. There are no words that can ease your pain, and only time will lessen the hurt. I pray for comfort and peace for you all, and great results from your scans as well. I'm so sorry my dear friend, and you know that I am here for you.
Amy: I'm so sorry about your friend as well, and I know that you are also in pain, and her family and children. I pray for comfort and peace for you and her family as well. Oh, and give Mazer the Tazer a kiss for me.
Mena: I hope that you will be feeling better soon. Your presence and humor is missed when you are away. I do hope that you are feeling better, and will be able to get your next treatment soon.
Deb: The weekend is finally here, and you will be with your family, I hope that you have a great weekend.
Pauline and Rod: We are so glad that you are here in our circle, and Rod I'm so glad that you are feeling some better, please stay with us and let us help you.
Susan: You made us all stars! Thank you so much, I know that you went to so much trouble to make us feel special and I truly do. That is such a sweet and thoughtful gift to us all.
Nicki: Please get some extra rest this weekend, your body is begging you for more sleep. I am so glad that you are feeling better, but you have been very sick, and you know that our bodies need lots and lots of extra rest to completely heal. You take such wonderful care of all of us, this weekend you should come to the center of the circle and let us wrap you in warm comfy blankets with a nice hot cup of cocoa and just rest, and let your body recharge.
Lini: So glad that your surgery is over and you are on the mend.
Vickie: I continue to pray for a miracle for little Trenton, he is in my prayers and on my mind everyday.
Shel: I'm so sorry that you are going through such a difficult time right now. I know that you will get through this and be stronger than ever, but I am truly sorry for the pain that your in. I want you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Carrie: My dear friend I am so thankful that you are feeling better, and I pray that you will be completely well very soon.
And very special prayers for Kimmy tonight, I am so sorry that she has to fight this beast again.
To all of you that I didn't name, please know that you are in my prayers every day.
Hugs,
JoJo0 -
Two more bright shining stars watching over the circle. We hate to see them go, but know that they are no longer in pain. May the pain in your hearts be replace with the joy that your friends memories bring to you. May you find peace and know that we feel your pain too. My prayes are with you and their families.
My prayers also go out to those that have been and still are sick may you gain the strength you need get some extra rest we are watching over you. the fire is stocked and the coffe, tea, cider or hot chocolate is ready for you.
I noticed some snow on some of the wagons We have extra warm blankets for you to cuddle up in and wartm your toes by the fire.
may we each find peace tonight as we remember each other, my friend, my sisters what would we do without each other?0 -
Thank you all of you Circle Girls for your kind words. I so appreciate every one of you.
Amy, I can't tell you how sorry I am about your friend. My heart goes out to you... it is so hard isn't it?
JoJo- nice to see you posting again! I have a PM from you but BCO won't let me open it! Must be a juicy one! I will try again later.
I am sorry we are having some sad days, but that is what makes our friendships so precious and so much closer, knowing we can come to the Circle and either lend an ear or offer a hug, or unburden our troubles and know that there are girls who will listen and understand us and make our paths lighter.
I treasure each and every one of you.
Love,g0 -
Oh I am so glad the week-end is finially here. Its very cold this morning - I just threw a few more logs on the fire. Hard to stay warm! Chicago is known as the Windy City - so the Chicago end of this circle is getting bone chilling winds!
Cant believe we had snow on Thursday. Pretty amazing. It was awful pretty though. I drove by a forest preserve and saw snow sticking to the trees, yet they still had their golden yellow, orange, and red leaves. It was a site. Im used to seeing the first snowfall when all the leaves are gone.
And our poor friends who live in Buffalo! Major snow storm shut down the city for a while. Hope this isnt the trend for our upcoming Winter.
I got the entire 1st Season of "Deadwood" from netfliz. Its one of my favorites despite the foul language and graphic scenes. They showed a wonderful scene which made me think of the wagon circle. At a distance there were covered wagons in a circle, looking down into a valley where there is this small little town. Showed the forest all around sprinkled with snow on the trees. It was such a site to see. Reminded me of how I imagine our circle is. And boy, the covered wagons! They sure are frail looking. It looked cold. So I think we should all do what the Penguins do. Gather are wagons closer together. Get 2 or 3 circles of wagons to protect all of our sisters who need to be in the middle of this circle. Hunker down for Winter.
PurpleMB: I am so jealous. Sitting by the beach and going on vacation sounds wonderful. And I love the Whine and Cheeze party idea. I might just steal it.
Tracey: Sounds like you really love the snow! Congratulations on the Hotel Management Course. It sure sounds like fun. Exciting!
Liz: How are you and how is your MIL. Compression fx is pretty painful.
Jpsgirl: Going to Boston to enjoy Fall. Lol, that made me laugh. I wish I lived in Florida.
Cheryl: Im glad your surgery was changed to November 14th. Cant imagine having surgery on Halloween or on my Birthday.
Vera: its funny, I remember your wedding anniversary. On Halloween - thats so neat.
Shel: yep, the one year mark is something. Makes ya look back and reflect and then you realize how strong you really are. Look at what you went through this past year. Makes ya take a deep breath. Amazing aint it?
Jeanette: Im with you. I hate dentists. I have a crown that is loose. I should make an appointmet today, but Im such a procrastinator, I will probably weight until it falls off and then need an emergency appointment.
Susan: I just wanted to say you are such a sweetheart. Everytime I see one of your posts I feel warm inside.
Vickie: I missed the whoopla about the Body by Bliss. Glad I missed it. Looks like Melissa took care of things. Your poem was just beautiful. Sorry you are feeling so blue. Sometimes is just sneaks up on you and bites you in the butt. Hope your feeling better soon.
Lini, Kristin, Nanium and DebC: so sorry your feeling teary eyed too. I really do think it has to do with the change in Seasons. Hoping you all feel chipper soon.
DebC: I hope your friend LInda is ok. And Im sorry you had to say good bye to your friend. But you are so lucky to have such good friends. Good friends - in your heart, are hard to find.
NS: Im so sorry about your friend. Its sad! Hard to say good-bye. You know we are with you, standing beside you, and we will carry you if need be to help you through this.
Shirley: Im so glad you drifted back to the circle. Its wild country out there, but always safe here. Im sending hugs to your friend Cheryl.
Mena: Geez kiddo, I hope your feeling better really soon.
Amy: Im so sorry about your friend. Ovarian Cancer can be one of the deadliest. Lost my 46 year old sister to it, 2 months after she was diagnosed. Its very aggressive. So hard to lose people that are close to us. We are with you also. Holding your hand and helping you through this difficult time.
Jasmine: Ahaha, you are too funny. I thought I was the only one who cant cook.
JoJo: Thanks for the well wishes. I actually feel pretty good today. Not gonna do much this week-end. Hoping that 2 more days of rest will be me back into a normal mode. My work sure has suffered.
Its gonna be a beautiful day. The sun is shining. Got lots of coffee, tea and hot chocolate for everyone. Gonna have a great breakfast. Omelets to order, bacon and sausage already cooking - I know the aroma is gonna wake some of you up. And a great fruit salad. Oranges, grapefruits, cherries, blueberries, raspberries, watermelon, cantalope, banana's, and mango. The mixture of flavors is delightful. And for those who are not dieting, got some whipped cream to put on top of the fruit.
Hope you all have a wonderful morning. Will check in later.
Carrie and Denise: Im missing you. Hope things are ok.
Looking for Peggy and Marla. Im peaking under every blanket. Surely your not hiding lol. Hoping things are going well and that your enjoying life.
Oh and how could I forget Kimmietoo. We have a special place for Kimmie in the center of the circle. Shes dealing with a reoccurance and needs all of our support.

Just found this thread and wish to add my wagon to the circle. It is new and not well equipped yet. My prayers and good thoughts are out for everyone. You make me cry and you make me laugh but mostly you make me feel not alone.
I will bring some great cinnamon buns with cream cheese icing to with morning coffe. God Bless you all.0 -

Two friends gone at one time is too much. I feel for you guys. I had a freaky day yesterday myself re: The Beast. I was totally overwhelmed by huge BC displays. made me very sad. Some women are just so cheery to support BC awareness. Try some chemo or remove a breast and then tell me how cheery you are. It's like there are two clubs. The perky "oh I'm gonna do something about BC for these poor women" and "Gee, I'm gonna do the best I can to live a normal life with this hanging over my head."
I guess I'm jealous. I want to be one of the perky ones. I know people mean well. It's just hard sometimes. <grumble>
Deb, glad you are at home with your family.
Tracey glad you like your job. You guys made me smile in spite of my funk.
Lynn48 welcome. I'm not usually this down.
Have a great rest of the weekend0 -
Oh goodness! I wasn't feeling all that great earlier when I posted. Have I "killed" the Circle Girls thread. LOL
Well here'a a little something that made me feel better.
Work hard at what you like to do and try to overcome all obstacles
Laugh at your mistakes and praise yourself for learning from them
Pick some flowers and appreciate the beauty of nature
Say hello to strangers and enjoy the people you know
Don't be afraid to show your emotions. Laughing and crying make you feel better
Love your friends and family with your entire being. They are the most important part of your life
Feel the calmness on a quiet sunny day
Find a rainbow and live your world of dreams. Always remember life is better than it seems

Hey Susan-
All the ladies must be out having a great weekend! I just got the cream puffs out of the oven. We have homemade chocolate and vanilla pudding and threen kinds of icecream. I have the homemade hot fudge ready to go. YUM
Help yourself ladies
Deb C.0 -
Deb you are the best. Cream puffs, homemade pudding, icecream and hotfudge. yummm. I'll bring the marshmallow topping.
While AlaskaDeb and I chow down ya'll have fun.
Susan0 -
Hi Lynn, bring your wagon right in. We are from the same part of the prairie. Nice to have another Albertan here.
We have been a downcast bunch here for the last couple of days. And rightfully so with all of the loss and troubles.
When this passes we will need a posse to saddle up and go find us some fun. Perhaps distorted humour can lead the mares.
AlaskaDEb, you just made my mouth water. I die for cream puffs! I would run out and get some, but town is all closed up for the nite. they roll up the sidewalks here quite early, especially on Saturdays when the ranch hands hit the saloons (Yep, it really does still happen). Now how do you make yours over an open fire?
Jeannette0 -
You ladies are too funny.
Susan, I'm glad you're feeling better. Heck, I've been in a funk for a few days. Need to have my horse kick my butt!
Deb, you sure do sound good. Have you ever made homemade eclairs. Ummmm-ummmmmm good. I made some a few years ago...a LOT of few years ago. They were soooo good. I went to a friend's house and made some for her. She said they were better than the ones she got in France. Of course she's probably exaggerating or had forgotten how good they were over there because she had not been there for probably 20 years.
Have any of you heard of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. I found this recipe called Krispy Kreme Doughtnut Bread Pudding. I just bought some cookbooks for Christmas gifts that Paula Dean wrote and that recipe is in there. NAUGHTY! NAUGHTY! NAUGHTY! Bad for the cholesterol. I'm thinking about making it for either Thanksgiving or Christmas when there's plenty of other people to eat it beside me and DH.
Well, I guess I better round of the mules and get to bed. Guess I'll hunker in for the night. The weather here in North Carolina has turned cold (for us that is)! It's 47 degress.
Nite.
Shirley0 -
Well in been foogy here all day. It was actually warmer this morning as I stood at the bus stop than it was this afternoon. crazy
Had a wonderful time at the Komen Brunch, was so good to see the gals that went to Harmony Hill. We all aggreed to make a team for the next race for life in June. I'm so excited that I'll be able to participate next year.
Welcome Lynn48 just pull that wagon right on in, we'll get it fixed up in no time.
It's a bit chilly tonight so I'm throwing on a few more logs to the fire. want to be sure everyone is plenty warm.
wow looks like I'm up late tonight! must have been that nap I took earlier today!
Sleep well0 -
To all you ladies who cook, bake those wonderful snacks, I am envious because......
Love you all,0 -
Good Morning everyone. What a glorious week-end it has been so far. Yes, the circle is quiet, but thats good sometimes. Means many of our sisters are getting out and exploring the woods. Enjoying life a bit! Something we all need to do.
I myself had big time computer competition yesterday. DH was on it all day. So I had no chance to come back and say hello again. Geez! hasnt he learned yet, that when I want the computer I should get it?
Its another chilly morning here. Put lots of logs on the fire. But I did get to see the sunrise this morning. It was beautiful. Everything looked golden this morning. Sometimes I wonder how our ancestors were able to cope with really living in a covered wagon through winter. No heaters! Geez, they must have been cold.
Then there is my dog "Mister" half black lab, half border collie, all monster. This dog is bred to be outside. Well maybe I need to say that differently. His breed is bred to be outside. This dog! Won't go out if its raining or snowing. Doesnt want to get wet. I always give him a little cookie when he goes out. He sticks his head out the door and if the weather doesnt fit his standards, he steals the cookie and runs into the bedroom!! This morning took the cake. Guess it was too cold for him! Went outside and not 30 seconds later was barking to come in. Of course he ran into the bedroom and immediately layed in my spot. He likes comfort too.
Lynn: So glad you found the circle. Its a nice place. If you need help with your wagon, we have lots of supplies. need to get you a horse too. One that rides fast with the wind blowing on your face - to another one of us who is in distress.
Jeaneette: Fun you say? Well let me tell you if we put Distorted Humor with a bunch of mares - well he sure will be having fun. Of course come Spring - we will have a bunch of new colts sprinting around the circle. The horse loves sex - he was born to breed! When I read your post to him, he got a big goofy smile on his face. Lots of teeth showing. Got him settled down by giving him an apple, but he is gonna be looking for those mares all day.
Deb C. You sound so chipper today. Nice to be with your family and just enjoying life. By the way, the desserts were great. Tracey and I had chocolate all over our faces. Needless to say, we did enjoy.
Susan: Sorry you were having an emotional day. I feel like you, I am doing my best to have a normal life. Buts then whats normal? Not like I was before. I have lost that person forever. I new, Im different. Its always nice to see people join the cause in the fight against breast cancer. But for many, they havent experienced the journey. Sure does change us. I myself used to be so outgoing. Would dance on the tables at the pub my husband was playing at. Not anymore. I like it here at home. Home and work - they are my safe places. And when I do venture out, all I hear is "oh you look so good" "how are you really doing" - yuck! You could never kill this thread. Too many of us here and for once, it was your turn to go to the middle of the circle. You have helped so many, so now its our turn to help you. And yes, find that rainbow!
Shirley: OMG Krispy Kreme pudding sounds so decadent. Leave it to Paul Dean to come up with that recipe. I like watching her and Rachael Ray.
Cherly: It sounds like you had fun at the brunch. Always nice to be with others that share the same feelings.
Debra: You cracked me up. Your sign is perfect. Pretty much explains me. Oh lordy, I cant cook.
I have another person I want to bring to the center of the circle. Some of you may know her. "Imraithnimphais" (Holley). Dont know why, but she has touched my heart from her first post. Got real sick from chemo, so I hadnt seen her in a while. She posted yesterday on the reoccurance thread. Tumor markers are high, mets to bone and possibly lung. Has to go back on chemo - Monday. Chemo made her very sick before. So get ready for Monday. We need to gather our horses and ride in the wind. Be with her, give her support and courage.
Well! Time for me to go. DH is taking me to town for breakfast. But theres lots of pots here for you all when ya wake up. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, chicken soup, and homemade onion soup. Your gonna need something warm to drink if you mosey on down to the Chicago part of the circle.
Oh, I found Peggy. I peaked and peaked under every blanket, behind every bush. Guess what. Shes busy building us a new outhouse. Hope she puts a heater in it for the winter here in the circle.
Love
Nicki

Wonder, if our new potty will have a heated toilet seat?? You're such an angel Peggy for taking on this job.
Holley, welcome to the center of our circle. You stay there as long as need be and we'll take care of you.
Lynn48, glad that you've brought your wagon to our circle. I've been here for a while and still crashing where ever anybody will have me. I guess it's time for me to go wagon shopping. I want something classy, and not with too much bling. Maybe some soothing earthtones, a few candles, some nice textures. That pink monstrosity of Shel's has been giving me a headache for some time now.
Debralynn, we'll keep bringing the the chips and dip to the circle. I'm not all that happy in the kitchen either, but thank goodness we have so many great cooks around here that they don't need us. I guess we should gather some wood though and earn our keep.
Susan, hope you're spirits are little higher today. Don't feel bad for feeling bad. We're entitled to a blue mood here and there.
Everyone else, have a safe and peaceful day.

Susan, I totally relate to your post yesterday! I had a silly breakdown yesterday afternoon. I had gone to pick up a prescription after dropping my oldest son at the weedend walk in clinic. The amount was a lot higher than it had been before and I got really upset. They told me to call the insurance company, which I did while sitting in the waiting room with my son. It turns out that if I don't use the mail order option on what is considered "maintainance meds" they charge me HALF the cost of the prescription, instead of the usual amount on the third refill. Like a dumby, I didn't realize that since I wasn't sure if I was going to use this med or a different one. I acted like such an idiot on the phone, it wasn't her fault, but I started to pour out my whole story. By the time I hung up I think she was crying, too. I had to go outside to wait for my son because I just couldn't stop crying! It just got me. I get so tired of getting prescriptions filled, trying to remember which dr has which one, which ones are mail order, which ones are local... And the fact that my money is constantly being eaten up!
Sorry, I know some of you have such bigger hurdles. Amy, I am so sorry about your friend. After meeting you last week, I felt like she was my friend, too. Holly, I really feel for what you are going through. Stay close. Nicki, it sounds like you are finally feeling a little bit better, yeah!
I am so glad this circle is warm, it's been pretty chilly out there.0 -
Oh Sheri I could so relate to your prescription story. I on a first name basis with everyone in my pharmacy!! I had everyone in the store helping me the other day try to find a medicine that would be cheaper than the one on my prescription. I am astounded at how much money this all costs.
Debralynn, love the sign. Can I join the can't cook club with you and Nicki. hmmm maybe I'll start a thread about this.
Nicki, "And when I do venture out, all I hear is "oh you look so good" "how are you really doing" - yuck! " If I had a dollar for everytime I heard this I'd be rich.
Shirley, Krispy Kreme Doughnut Bread Pudding. I have to try this.
Sheri, Amy and Vera, any pictures??
Hello to everyone else. Glad you are here. Welcome Imraithnimphais.0 -
count me in, I've even got a horse! I'm having a very scary rough time, so I think for me, concentrating on caring about others will help me feel better. Nothing better than knowing that women that you don't even know, are thinking about you and doing whatever it is they do to help out.
Love to all
Holley0 -
Vera posted a couple on another thread, but here are the ones from my camera. Thanks to Amy's friend for taking the pictures.

Holly---Just make yourself warm and comfy by the fire. The ladies here will keep you company and feed your body well and your soul with caring. We'll be riding along with you tomorrow but be forewarned----we bring the chocolate fountain along and sometimes it gets a tad messy.
Um, ladies----where are your shoes?
Still lots of company here----I expect to be working on Mt. Laundrey for a few days---but have been reading along.
Keep our collective fingers crossed at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon. May come home without the new nip since it seems to be dying. Black is not the appropriate color. Compared to everyone else it's just a minor glitch but I was SO ready to be getting down to the end, already. They would remove it, let it heal and do it over.
Jeannie0 -
Welcom Holly...this is a great place to be.
Hi Jeannie...crossing my fingers for you tomorrow.
NS...sending you warm hugs (again).
Hi Lini...sounds like your feeling a bit better...I'm glad to see you back.
Have had a super busy weekend with a bit too much wine (of both kinds!). Tylenol PM and a melatonin for me tonight and off to la la land so I can manage to make it to work tomorrow and not fall asleep on my desk!
Alaska deb...you must be nearly done...two weeks to go????
Hard to believe that a year ago today I was in Florida at my daughters wedding totally oblivious to what was to come.
Here's to a happier week this week than last!!! Lets think of something fun for Friday night...maybe an old fashioned pajama party...you can all come to my wagon and we'll tell jokes and silly stories of when we were young and foolish and get a few laughs...I'll post a picture of me in my jammies and come up with a tale of a younger me later this week if your all interested. Time to get a little happy back here.
Love to all...thinking of you all
Vickie0 -
Ooooh--PJ party. Excellent idea! Now if someone would just tell me how to post a picture I could even join in. I'll even tell you all about what I did at the senior prom---that could've cost me a scholarship if I'd gotten caught.
Jeannie0 -
To post pictures...trying to make this as simple as possible.
I use Photobucket.com.
Go to their website and register.
Click on upload photo's and you can upload photo's from your computer. (Get someone to snap a pic of you and save it to your photo's on your computer).
You can search their website and find photos, save them to you computer then upload them to your album on Photobucket. You can also use photos from Google images and Yahoo images...just save them to you computer first, go back to Photobucket and upload.
When you want to post a picture...go to Photobucket, highlight the image tag (third one down under the picture you want to use)...right click...copy...go to where you want to post the picture and right click...paste. Always preview your post to make sure the picture isn't too big...I haven't figured out how to make them smaller and posted one that was bigger than I expected.
Good luck and have fun!
Hugs

seeing if this works!!0

Hi and welcome to all our news girls! I didn't take notes so just know everyone is in my thoughts and prayers.
Nicki, glad you're getting better girl. You need to take care of yourself. My MIL got out of the hospital on Friday afternoon with Kyphoplasty scheduled for Monday. She was readmitted early this morning with elevated ammonia levels and low platelets. She has primary biliary cirrhosis and I'm honestly not sure what's going on with her. The Kyphoplasty was cancelled due to the platelets.
I did the Susan Komen race on Saturday and met a couple of girls from bc.org chat. I had a wonderful time and there was a lady there who was a 45 years survivor. It was really great to see that.
Vickie, thanks for the info and how to post. I've wondered how to do it. Now just to find some cute pictures and make sure there are none of me. LOL
Peggy, I'm glad the pillow is helping.
I will be seeing my oncologist on the 24th for my 9 month check up. Hard to believe it's been that long since my last chemo.
I have the root canal on the 26th so everyone will need to ride in and hold my hand. I hate the thought of having to do this. I am a mega baby when it comes to dental work.
To everyone who is facing chemo, surgery and tests, I'll be thinking of you all.
Hugs
Liz0 -
Liz, sounds like your mom is really going through some hard times. Please let her know we are thinking of her. Also we WILL be with you on the 26th. Tell the dentist to expand his office.
Newvickie, thanks for posting that again. Someone asked me to the other day and I forgot. A pj party sounds fun, I'll look for a picture of me in PJ's.
Jeannie, I hope you don't lose your nipple. If you do, we should have some kind of ceremony. What would be appropriate for an expiring nipple?? LOL I know what you mean about being finished. I am recovered from left knee surgery even though I know I have more coming I'm glad to be DONE (for now).
The pictures are beautiful. So good to see your shining happy faces. Sheri I recognize you from your avitar. Evil Elf is in pink and Amy is in orange, right?
Holley, I'm sorry you are having such a hard time. Please feel free to come in here and unload whenever you need to. A great bunch of women here.
Nicki, NS, Debbyfive, Brenda, Jasmine, Cheryl, Penny, ChristineK, and everyone else have a great evening.
Susan0 -
Wow, I did it! I am soo.. excited.
Anyway, I have been thinking that as winter approaches we should think about some good shelter. I am puting a teepee beside my wagon - that way we can cozy inside around the fire. Plenty of room for all of us. With my brand new teepee liner the winds stay away - they blow up and out the smoke hole, and we can be as cozy as possible. Maybe I will even paint it before it gets too cold.
