Shel, you aren't a bad wagoneer, just one with a big load right now. So come sit by the fire, even if you don't have the energy to post. turn your back to the fire so you can warm your bum as well. With your eyes away from the light you can see the stars better. The big dipper is just wanting to pour some love over you right now. NOw with a warm mug of cider in your hand just rest easy. this too will pass.

And yes, we are all here for Holley. Have big quilts wrappped around her to keep her safe and speed her to a good sleep before we ride out tomorrow with her to the doc.

Good Evening everyone, it is getting late and I am not going to be up much longer but wanted to check in and sit with everyone around the fire a bit.

Haven't felt well and spent6 hours in the ER on Friday. They thought they were going to be taking me to surgery for gallbladder problems but then nothing showed - this has been going on for awhile and I just kind of lost it when they told me they didn't find anything. I don't run to ER's or doctors and, well, --------. Friday liver function test were OK so I have my 3 month oncology visit tomorrow and lets hope they stay that way but we are going to have to seriously talk about this pain in my right side.

I kept my grandsons last night until early this evening so I am really kind of tired and need to turn in early.

Everyone, I hope Monday brings all good news and a better day and week. Shel, come on over and we can just sit and talk and cry together - both for different reasons but tears are tears. Mena hope you are feeling better. Nicki glad to hear you are on the mend. Susan, thank you for keeping me in the circle.

I haven't caught up on all the post so for those that I am forgetting or that are new to the circle, stay close and we will wrap you with hugs, good food, warm drink, love, laughter, and prayers.

    Blessings to all, Brenda

Shel, Please don't think what you are going through is not needing attention. You need to come sit by the fire we are here for you and will help you get through this.

Brenda, I sure hope they can figure out what is causing you pain and fix it fast!

Holly, welcome! What part of Oregon are you in? I'm in Seattle.

Wow those teepees are great! they'll keep us warm this winter when we venture out of the wagons!

HUgs, prayers and more hugs for everyone!

    Hello dear ones-

I have had a wonderful weekend with my family. My hubby is up reading to the girls....they are 12 and almost 14 and dad still reads to them before bed every night. It warms my heart to just listen.

Shel, everyone's problems are important here. Come near the fire and have a red stripe. Tell us how we can help...do you need us to tell you jokes? Send you rotell and tums? Big hugs to you.

    Brenda-
I hope you get some answers and a break from the pain. Hugs to you.

    cheryl-
Babies are SUCH a gift! Blessings to your whole family.

    Jeannie-
I hope the nipple stays put, but black doesn't sound like your color...i hope it all heals up!!

    Holley,
Sorry you are having a rough time. Pull up a chair by the fire and stay a while.

Hugs and prayers are going out to all the circle girls. I know there are people I am not mentioning, but if I try and back up to the next page to check I will loose this entry!

    Blessings,
    Deb C.

Good Morning all of you wonderful women. Its Monday morning. Got to get back into the work groove. At least Im feeling 98% normal again! Cant believe only one week ago how sick I was.

Its a cold and dark by the fire. No sunrise yet. But Im seeing lots of stars, so Im guessing it will be a cold, sunny day - Fall is here and now we are approaching Winter. I put more logs on the fire and the crackling sound is just great - cause the wagon is quiet. Silence! Indeed it is nice sometimes. Coffee and hot water is brewing. Im already on my second cup! Dont feel like cooking breakfast, so I went to the bakery in town and got us a pizza coffee cake. It had all different kinds of toppings. Blueberry, Cherry, Apple, and Cheese. But I have to tell ya, I have this uncontrolled taste for pumpkin pie! Maybe will bring it for dessert with tonights dinner.

Im hoping all of our friends in Hawaii are safe. Had Earthquakes yesterday. Sending well wishes to all the people who live in Hawaii. We have friends vacationing there, so I hope they are safe too.

Liz: It sure sounds like your MIL is having a hard time. Elevated Ammonia levels nothing to fool around with. Can cause changes in mental status. I hope they get things under control soon. If she does have the Kyphoplasty, have you and your family talked about rehab afterwards? She is gonna need some good physical and occupational therapy. Anyways, hope she is well. Sounds like you had fun at the walk. Great to meet others from bc.org. Oh and the dreaded dentist appointment. We will be with you on the 26th. Chocolate fountain and all. Wonder what the dentist is gonna think about all that chocolate.

Shel: Didnt you know. We have been keeping you in the middle of the circle. Of course you are sad. Not easy to deal with bc and losing your mate in the same year. Sounds pretty overwhelming to me. So you just sit in the middle of the circle. Have lots of things that will calm your fears and when you are feeling lonely, just remember we are here for you.

Holley: Im so glad you found the circle. We have a great medic tent. You can find my wagon - its the one with the red cross. Sometimes we need help taking care of others and sometimes we will help you. "Scary, rough time" is pretty descriptive of how you must be feeling. Just remember there are others here in the circle who are dealing with mets and more chemo. Hope you enjoyed being with your friends at the support group yesterday. Sounds like you have a special bond with them. So, have you postponed the chemo today? Getting a second opinion first? My horse is saddled and ready for when you need us to be with you. Hang in there girl! In numbers we are strong!

Lisa: When is your appointment. Was it last week or is it today. Just wondering what all is going on with the clinical trials. Hope you have good news.

lini: So how are you doing after surgery? Its about 2 weeks now isnt it? Hope all is well.

Sheri and susan: Count me in on the whole prescription thing. I have my own little pharmacy right here at home. Seems like Im getting refills every other day. I had my own little blow up of hysterical tears at office max a few months back. Now that I look at it, it was pretty funny but it sure wasnt at the time. All of the employees including the manager didnt know what to do with me. I was yelling at them "how can you treat someone with breast cancer like this." Of course they really didnt do anything wrong. I just lost it. Then I got into my jeep with the top down and got poured on that day. We were in the middle of a draught. It only rained on me! Thats a true story. When I got home, the passenger side was dry and I was soaking wet. My husband and I still laugh at that one.

Jeannie: Oh what a great picture and what a great idea. I have already put up my teepee. Actually I have 2. One is by my wagon and I painted a red cross on it. I have some paint outside it, so as people come to visit, they can sign it - just like my highschool yearbook. And I want to know the Prom secret. Maybe after a couple of glasses of wine you will share it with us. Im sorry about the black nip. That stinks. When you go to the PS today we will be with you. Distored Humor is saddled and ready to go - although I must admit he is a little tired. He had a too much fun with all the mares yesterday. Males! It doesnt matter what species. They are all the same lol. Oh the other teepee - its set up right by the fire. So we can stay warm on these cold mornings and nights.

Vickie: Ah yes, what a difference a year makes. The pajama party sounds like fun. Sounds like your feeling more chipper.

Tracy: Good job, you followed directions and posted such a cute picture. Im still not computer savy. I think I will ask our computer expert at work how to do it. I would love to learn how to post pictures. Then you all could see how cute I really am.

Cheryl: Congratulations grand ma. A new baby girl. Lailoni Siam - what a pretty name. Bet your struttin your stuff today.

Brenda: You sure have been through alot. Have a special place for you in the middle of the circle. We will be with you today when you see the onc. And I hope you get answers. Just remember, there will be this crazy nurse sitting on her horse, waving her Italian finger at the onc. You need answers - will shake it out of him if I have to. Find out about the pain and the swollen nodes.

Deb C: So nice to hear you had a great time with your family this week-end. Rads are almost over right? We need to schedule a party here in the circle.

Kristin: I loved your story about the hair cutting with your friends. A mohawk! Im laughing my arse off. I bet you look so cute in the news boy cap. They are stylish now. You can go to Wal Mart or Kohls - go to the junior section - they have so many cute styles. And then of course, you will need new earrings to match your outfits. I cant believe chemo #2 is already coming up. We will be there with you tomorrow. I will try not to tickle you too much.

I know Peggy is still around. I heard her working on the outhouse. Nails pounding the wood and echoing throughout the forest. Just make sure the outhouse and toilet seat is heated when your done.

NS and Amy: Havent seen you for a while. Hope all is gone as good as expected. Still so sorry about you losing your friends last week. Have a special place in the middle of the circle for you.

Robin: I know you will be starting a new chemo. I have a special place for you in my new tee pee. Hope things go well.

Well, my time is up. Have to go to work and make a living. So I can pay for all the medication I take lol. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Welcome to Holley and Lynn! It is good to have you here with us!

I had a very busy weekend, since I am gearing up for AC #2 tomorrow. I was trying to get everything done before I get put out of commission for a week or longer. On Saturday morning, my hair was coming out in small handfuls in the shower, so I determined that it was time for it to go. I called up my two closest girlfriends, and they came over Saturday night and we had a GETTIN' BUZZED party. We had wine and cheese and some more wine, and then we started on my hair. They started with the scissors, and with the help of a little mousse we were able to create many 'lovely'styles, each progressively shorter and shorter! Of course we took pictures along the way, too! We ended up with a mohawk, and then saved down the center of the mohawk to create two strips! It was hysterical! After we were done and buzzed it down as far as it would go, I took a shower to get rid of the stray hairs, donned a newsboy cap, and we went out to make my hairless debut into the world! We got some food and hung out and it was not so bad! In fact, I felt so good about it that the next day I sang in my church folk group, right up in front of the whole congregation! I figured if there was ever a place that I should not worry about what people think, it should be church, right?

I hope to post more later….right now I need to get to work since this is my last day this week in the office!

    Hugs,
    Kristin

    Good morning.

Snow is coming down - an early winter we are having here. Brr. The only thing that saves sanity is the chinook winds that blow warm and dry periodically. Melts all the snow.

For you ladies who are a bit low on energy, and while we are waiting on Peggy to finish the ultra delux outhouse, I am offering a portable model. First come first served basis.

Hello all, welcome to new arrivals at the camp.
NS and Amy - Just saw your posts after returning from my Boston weekend. I am so, so sorry for the loss of your dear friends. What you wrote about them really made them 'real' to me.
Holley and others who are facing new struggles with cancer -you are in my thoughts and prayers each day. Glad you can come and sit in the circle for a little while.

Cheryl - Congratulations on the granddaughter - what a lovely name! Might we see a picture at some point?

Jeannette - Yours was the first post I saw on my return - great start to a boring old Monday!

Nicki - I'm only technically a Florida girl at this point - we've been working in DC for 3+ years and with treatment etc. this year haven't spent much time "at home" in Lauderdale. It was still pretty warm in DC last week - plenty cool here for the campfire now!

    Hello Circle Girls,

Just stopping in for a quick hello and to thank you all for keeping me in your thoughts this weekend. The weather was beautiful here in Alabama.

Dana was buried on Sunday and you all will probably think her mom is nuts for saying this but its funny so wanted to pass it along. I know its probably more funny to me since I knew Dana but hope you all get a smile out of it. Her mother was standing there talking to me about the special bond that Dana and I shared with cancer and being the same age, graduating together. Very serious discussion then her mom said, well if you know Dana like I think you do cant you see her now saying excuse me as she passes by everybody because she is probably already trying to make her move on that New York Yankee pitcher that died in the crash. Her mom started laughing and said I know this is not the time to laugh but it sure gives me peace knowing she is not suffereing anymore and can get back to her spunky self.

Anyway, didnt take notes and I have a ton to do at work today but keeping everyone in my thoughts and a huge welcome to the new members. Pull your wagon up and all these people want you to have a horse but donkeys are welcome too. There always has to be somebody different in the crowd so why not me,,right? Maybe I have a donkey because I have been called a smart A$$ many times in my life,,hmmmmmm. Mazer the Tazer says hello to everyone as she kicks up her heels and runs about freely and then drops to take a dust bath.

There is a smell in the air this morning,,hmm sure hope Peggy finishes up that new out house soon. In fact, I think I will get my hammer and screws and head on down there to help her. Giddy up Mazer,,we have work to do.

Hi ladies...rough day here so I am only staying on for a bit...I am sending everyone a hug and will write more tomorrow but I wrecked my car this morning on the way to work. I swear a deer just dropped out of the sky!!! He (a big eight point buck) jumped off the bank and landed on my hood then into my windshield...scared the crap out of him and me both!!! I'm ok...just sore...got a rental car so I can make it too work tomorrow. They may total my car as the damage is pretty extensive. Oh Yippee...car shopping is not on my list of fun things to do.
BE CAREFUL LADIES...I was "deer accident" number 5 at 7:30 this morning!!! It's that time of year again. Of course it doesn't help when you live out in the middle of nowhere!
    I'll write more tomorrow...
Love to all, have a peaceful sweet dream filled night.

Holley, I know you are very scared and this is easy to say, but you are going to do just fine. The thought of doing "this stuff over" is certainly no picnic. You will be embraced here by all the women, or shall I say wagongirls.

I have not kept up with each and every one of you, but for those who are going through bad times either by losing family and/or friends, or going through more treatment and surgery, I wish you well. And you are always in my prayers.

Oh, Peggy, I absolutely love, love, love the new "outhouse."
Is there running water too? And hot water?

Vickie, how scary. Geez, I know how you feel when you totalled your car. Mine wasn't from a deer falling out of the sky, but from running a red light! Yep, I ran it and caused an accident and totalled the car.

Those deer can cause extensive damage to your car. We have them around here also.

    Good luck on car shopping.

Vicki, glad you're ok. Did you get them to dress that deer so we can have some wonderful venison stew over the campfire?

Cheryl, congrats on the new Grand Baby. I'm not a GM yet, but I work in the delivery suite and babies are a miracle that never quits.

Ladies I love coming here. DH thinks I should not be 'obsessing' about BC as I am 'done' with it now (no harsh treatments just tamoxifen). Thinks I can just forget, or something! I am so glad for this forum.

I have added a heater and a warmer sleeping bag to my wagon 'cause it's snowing here today!

    Hugs to all.

Shirley...I really need to borrow that ride!!!! It has to be safer than driving although knowing me I'd fall off and hit my head or something equally stupid!
Joining Deb in the tub (wow...thanks Peggy)...move over honey...I am so incredibly sore it isn't funny! Wow...didn't expect this...if I don't reappear tomorrow...send help! I may be stuck in the tub! But seriously...thank you for your good wishes...they mean a lot.
Sorry...no venison from this deer...he hit my car pretty hard...actually knocked one set of antler off and he was too banged up to salvage but I did make corn chowder and homemade biscuits if anyone is interested.
Pajama party still on at my wagon this weekend...will try to do a picture tomorrow if I can still move. I really need to hear some good stories!
    Jeannette...love the teepees!!
NS...sending you a hug along with Shel...thinking of you both...thinking of you all
    Good night

    Hey Vicky-

You can have the tub girlfriend. I had to get out anyway before I turned into a prune I'm so sorry about your "close encounter" with the wildlife. Just think, up here we hit moose...2,000 pounds of fur and horns on longenough legs they often end up coming up over the hood and INTO the car. One more reason to drive a nice tall pickup up here in the north-land! I'm just glad you are OK.

I left some lavender and citrus oils by the tub and a cell phone in case you have to call for rescue! I hope you are feeling better by the morning.

    Hey Robin!

Good to see you posting. I hope the new chemo is kind to you. I have some nice cool gel-packs all ready for you by the fire circle. I also made a fresh lemon sour-cream pound cake...I couldn't help myself...there was leftover homemade hot fudge from the creampuffs and it's a sin to waste chocolate! So, put a thick slab of cake on the plate and top with vanilla ice cream and hot fudge..YUM.

    Hugs to everyone...
