    Good night to all!!

Nicki, hope you are feeling better; haven't seen your post that you are still having such sweats.

Vicki, your daughter sounds like a big cut up - I would think mine was crazy for getting on a ship with a hurricane this size anywhere close to me. I'm chicken!!! Let me know if you are interested in the book and will give you the authors so it is easier to find.

Listening to all of you talk about the Victoria Secret ads - I learned years ago while those bras are sexy as heck - they really aren't that comfortable and i didn't think they held up very well either. The ONLY reson I might could still wear one is that I have a rather larger seroma that fills the space from all the breast tissue removed - the ONLY reason I can't wear them is that the cut of those bras come right across the seroma and is uncomfortable. To heck with Victoria Secret - sports bras are the most comfortable now especially with some lymphedema issues. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!!!1

Cheri, sooooo glad to read that the redness and the draining has disappeared. Smiles, hugs, giggles to you!!!!

Gina, I'm thinking something is very wrong. LOL.

Have a question: do any of you have this dry cough that just seems to appear? It seems to be at its worst a night but sometimes during the day. I don't feel bad, not congested just this darn dry cough. Been going on now off and on for quite a while. It is beginning to BUG me.

Had some friends over for dinner so haven't heard much about where Dean may be headed but to those in Texas - any of the gulf region - saying prayers and hoping you are paying attention and getting prepared at least for some rain and winds. Concerned about all of you.

It is late, I'm tired and gotta find something for this cough.

Hugs to all from A-Z. Brenda

Good Morning Everyone: I guess Im awake so early, because I have been in bed most of the time for the last 5 days. I have a gruesome headache now and it still hurts when I take a deep breath. Still couging up blood tinged mucous. But the sweats are gone and I take that aa a very good sign. If I feel like this tomorow morning, I dont know what Im gonna do. I I know I couldnt work if I feel like this tomorrow. Anyways, thats a day in the life of someone with pneumonia. I dont ever want to get this again. I have been doing pretty good without smoking, hmmmmm maybe nicotine withdrawal is the cause of my headache. Who know.

Brenda: thanks for you well wishes. Im trying to backtrack and see why I got this to begin with - cause it certainly wasnt by a cold. For the last month or so, I had a dry cough. I would go into a little spasm - so I started carrying life savers with me and that seemed to help. A dry cough can be caused by so many things. Believe it or not there are some high blood pressure medications that will cause a dry cough. Then I had so many different people look in my mouth and say, your throat is red! Anways if I were you, I would get the cough checked out. Make sure its not the beginning of an infection. I just peeked in your wagon and I see you have a smile on your face.

Vickie: I cant believe your daughter is still going on the cruise. I keep seeing these pictures of hurricane Dean and thats one scary storm. I keep asking where is Bermuda, but it sounds to me like they would be close to the other Islands. I cant imagine myself, packing a bad and getting on a boat, knowing the hurricane is out there. Hoping she stays safe. Thanks for the update about Cheri. Its good to hear she is talking and laughing. Has been through hell this past week.

Boo/Sue: It was so good to read a post from you. If I lived in Florida I would be pretty nervous. I mean those hurricanes can just turn around and start heading you way. Although I must say Im worried about our Shokk and Madison. Looks like Dean is headed toward Texas and Louisiana.

Denise: I got a little package in the mail yesterday. What a nice thing and what good timing. I needed a little pick me up. Even DH was touched and how much we here on the discussion boards care about each other. Dentists. I hate dentists. So I wishing you good luck at your appointment on Monday. I have one in September - to redo a crown of all things!

CherylG: Im so glad you are back. Thought about you alot and wondered where you went off too. I get alot of pictures from photobucket - my virus scan is current, and many times when I try to download a picture it warns me there is someone trying to change my connections. I dont download those. I have had that happen on more that one occasion. Were is not for my active virus scan, my computer would prabably have crashed. As far as pneumonia catching up on ya, thats how I feel today. Thought I was better when I woke up - now feeling yucky again. I was hoping after 5 days of antibiotics I would be better than this. Will be calling my PCP tomorrow morning to find out if there is anything else I should be doing.

BMD: Wroking in real estate sounds fun to me. Seems like the market for selling houses is pretty hard right now. There are so many houses in my neighborhood up for sale and none of them are getting sold. I used to blow dry my hair, but Im not very good at styling and when I was down, I would be sweating like crazy from all the heat. So just recently, I wash my hair everyday, put some styling gel in it and go to work. Let it air dry. I was shocked, it comes out so cute and soft too.

SoCal: That picture of your grand daughter is so cute. I cant believe she is already 3 months old. Seems like yesterday she was born.

Cheri: Im so gald you leg is doing better. Sounds like the antibiotic is working. Maybe they will send you home soon. Im a little confused. Who was pushing your buttons and vieing for attention. Somehow I have missed that whole thing. Anyways, having the port is gonna make it so much easier if they decide you need IV antibiotics at home.

Madison: Those pictures of Dean are pretty scary. If it wasnt so dangerious, I would say = its beautiful in a way. Im surew you being in Louisiana, your worried. Its not gonna take much of a storm to bring New Orleans to its knees. I read an article in the newspaper yesterday that John Edwards is pulling his money out of banks who are foreclosing on homes in New Orleans. I thought that was good. Nothing says something better than money.

Christine: Thanks for your well wishes. Besides M & M's, I have another favorite. Hersheys dark chocolate kisses. They are outta this world.

Jankay: Thanks for letting us know about skybaby and nancycl. Got to be good friends with both of them, as we spent many hours talking on the chat. I tried peaking into the chat a couple of times yesterday to see I could catch on of them. But no luck.

Charlene: Sometimes, something happens and causes a breakdown. Had that happen to me a couple of times. Dont even know the reason, but I do remember standing in the middle of Office Max - crying my eyes out - all managers standing around me not knowing what to do. I stopped going to that Office Max. Its just catches up with you sometimes. I have not read the thread about good morning america - but I am cangry at how they are portraying breast cancer. This illness has such physical and psychological ramifications and from what they are saying, there will be many women out there who feel like failures. It certainly sounds like they caught Robins at an early stage - but I say shame on her for making everyone think this is a piece of cake. Arggg! I get so angry, my face turns red.

Beth: DH needs me more than I need him.

Vickie: OK I got it now. They are going to the Bahamas. Now where is that in location to where Dean is heading. We are having unusual weather here also. Its was in the 50's yesterday morning. Its been raining all day and all night and has the feel of fall. Im thinking we might get one more heat wave and summer will be over.

Colleen: How is your cold coming along?I hope your starting to feel better. Hate being sick, just hate it.

Choca: Same goes for you. Hoping your feeling better today. I think these colds stink, and some of them like to hang on for along time.

Susan: Just reread your post from earlier. You have no idea how calming you made me feel. Put things in perspective.

MargaretB: On August 26th I will be celebrating my 29th anniversary. Sometimes I wonder where is the man I fell in love with. But we are life partners!

Well I ve been on the computer for 1 1/2 hours, Im profusely sweating again. Dripping off my hair onto the key board. Jammies are all wet. Think Im gonna hop int he shower and take a nap. Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday.

Angel42 we lived in Katy, Texas for 9 years! Left in 92 when HL&P layed a bunch off. I remember hurricane Alica as I became a "hurricane widow" for weeks as hubby helped get power back on. Hubby had to drive through the eye to get to where he worked!

NICKI>hope you are starting to feel much better, I had walking pnemonia years ago that made me so tired once they put me on meds. That episode led them to find out I had allergies causing numerous sinus infections and the last one turned into walking pnemonia.
We are having rain from tropical storm Erin this morning. It was needed as we've been so hot and dry for a few weeks. Everything was turning brown and crispy and trees were stressing dropping leaves like we've already had a fall frost. If Dean hits the Texas coast we will probably be seeing rain from it too next.

Oh happy day, ladies!! WooHoo, I am gittin down wit ma bad self, turn up the music!

I just saw my dr. and I am being released...TOMORROW! We are puttin it in the wind headed for the house tomorrow! He said he still thinks its a bone infection and they're sending me home with antibiotics for my Port, twice a day. He's wanting me to have PT, but the therapist is a good friend of mine so it won't be so bad. I am getting better. He's doing 6 weeks of the antibiotic at twice a day. I never thought I'd be thankful for this port but it's so much better to put i9t through this than to run another PICC line.

    pals
    cheri

I will never be able to express how much your phone calls meant to me while i was away from home. And all your prayers got me through.
Amber goes for her biopsy tomorrow. I wont be able to go with her but i'll be there when she gets home.

    Good morning girls,
Nicky- I am sorry to read that you have been sick. Take care of yourself! Pneumonia is tricky, you think it's gone and you start doing too much and back it comes. Please take it easy.
BMD-Hi Brenda-so glad to see you posting. How is my chemo-buddy doing?
I've been training for a new position at work. It is a lateral move but once I know what I am doing it will be less stressful. I Hope!! We've been busy getting Kevin ready for school. He is doing well and I think wants to go back. They start getting bored towars the end of summer. Why does it seem that summer is so short and winter so long? I hate the cold!
I have to get ready for my goddaughter's daughter's christening. God,I am feeling old today.
To all in Dean's path,I am praying for you.

Wild/Jan: I just saw on the news how its flooding in areas of Oklahoma from the remnants of Erin. Stay safe. I never really thought about it, but thats exactly what I had. Walking pneumonia. One day not sick, next day - forget about it. Anyways I think I have reached a turning point. Took another nap and Im feeling pretty good right now. I had been coloring my hair for years before chemo, but I found out just how grey I am when my hair started growing back. There was more salt than pepper.

Joyce: It so good to hear from you. Hope you like your new job and hoping that there is much less stress involved. I must agree with you. Summer passes by so quickly and then Fall and Winter are upon us.

    Cheri: Now thats good news.

Good Morning Everyone. I'm hoping this sea angel keeps everyone here from Hurricane Dean's harm.

Lini .. it seems the fashion of today is cleavage revealing tops and I can't blame women for showing Some since they are beautiful and sexy. I know I would if I could. I do get tired of it in my face all the time and I often don't watch tv these days because of it. On tv it's just ridiculous. Sad, huh? I guess it's just too soon after my mastectomies. I know what you mean about DH never feeling it again, that saddens me as well. Hugs to you and thanks for sharing that.

Boo/Sue .. Glad you enjoyed the eye candy yesterday!

Brenda .. Yep, sports bra's are all I wear these days! We'll see what happens next year after recon is complete! I hope your cough is better. Seems something is going around the country. My frog in my throat has turned into a little toad..seems to be getting better.

Denise .. Good luck with your tooth, I hope the pain isn't too bad and the Darvocet helps if it is! Oh that picture makes me cringe!

Nicki .. You are so right about it just catching up with you sometimes. I need to start carrying my Ativan with me! As far as being made to feel like failures, that is true too. Pisses me off and doesn't help with our friends and family any. Make sure you don't go back to work until you're certain you can handle it. You Don't want a relapse!

Wild/Jan .. Wow, I wonder if you know my sister! I'm going to PM you. Funny, I always thought of that as tornado area but not hurricanes! I bet that was terrifying for your husband to drive through that! Not sure I'd risk my life for my job! What year was the hurricane? My sister has been in Katy for about 25 years or so now so I'm sure she was there when Hurricane Alicia hit.

Marsha .. I know how Janice feels, I'm lucky I can still post myself!
As far as Cheri .. yes, you are ND with her! LOL Your pic is too funny!

Well Karl just called. He took Audrey an hour and a half away for her first ever horse trail ride. They got up at 7am to be there by 9am. She's never ridden on a horse other than at a small local fair where it was pulled by someone. She's been looking forward to it all summer. So he get's lost on the way and calls the woman to say he's running late and to make sure he's headed the right way. She was very curt with him on the phone. He gets there only 10 minutes late and she wants to know where the other kid is. He said I only registered for one kid. She said, Nope, I'm not doing this for just one! He tried to reason with her and she started to threaten and yelled at him to get off of her property, all in front of Audrey. Then she got in her truck and took off! Sigh...so once again, my poor Audrey gets to be disappointed and see the meanness in people. Seems to happen to her ALOT for some reason. We never made it for a vacation this year because of all I'm dealing with and it's the first year she's never gone to the beach, which she just Loves! The website for this horse place looks very nice and you never would have expected a mentally unstable woman to be running it. I could just punch her. She's definitely being reported to the BBB! So he's now taking her to The Coliseum which is a really cool new arcade/billiard/bowling/restaurant/bar/ice cream shop place that's only 15 minutes from where we live!
Going to work on finding a reputable horse trail ride place and try again.

Well hoping everyone from A - Z has a great Sunday.

    Hugs&Love

Sorry ladies for the wide picture. I tried and tried to make it smaller and on photobucket it's only thumbnail size. Not sure why I couldn't. I hate having to scroll to read everything myself!

Well I gotta tell ya. There are viruses in some of these pics from photobucket. Anyways, while I was viewing some pictures, my virus protection came on and said they had just detected and deleted a virus that was gonna affect my downloading capabilities.

    Sounds pretty scary to me.

CHARLENE>makes you wonder too how she treats her horses if she treats her prospective riders like that! Reason I say that is usually good horse owners are great people to be around as they love their animals. Poor Audrey!

CHERI>that is wonderful news...you go girl!

Alica came through Houston in 83. So far just a light drizzle rain here but thats fine though because our black clay absorbs it better than those downpours.

Nickie - glad to see you are feeling better. It sounds like tomorrow would be too soon to go back to work. Please take care. Yes, it's been a tough weekend for both sister and I. I've been gardening to reduce stress and my sister has been hanging with her friends. I was thinking the day I saw the doctor I was running 100.8 temp due to a cold, so maybe that is why the gland was swollen. I hope! Anyway, thanks for asking.

Cheri - glad to hear you are going home. BTW - partied hard last night in your name. check out the party thread when you get a chance.

Yes, YouTube tends to be the culprit of a lot of the computer issues going on here. I haven't had any problems with photobucket but that is probably because of the security settings on our computer.

    image

For all those sisters having computer problems, try restoring your computer. Here is a simple way to restore your computer to it's previous settings.

Go to START menu and follow these steps:
    1. Click Start
    2. Select Help and Support
    3. Select: "Undo changes to your computer with system restore" (located under Pick a Task)
    4. Select "Restore my computer to an earlier time"
    5. Click Next
    6. Select a date on the schedule PRIOR to when your computer started having problems (You may need to repeat this step several times until you reach a date when your computer was affected.)
    7. Click Next (you can run this process now or schedule it to run at another time)
    8. Click Next to run

    Hope this helps. BBL

    Hi everyone,

Happy Anniversary to me! (It's our 18th today - and I'm still in love with my man!! I'm very lucky)

Nicki - I hope you continue to feel better and better. It took 2 rounds of anitbiotics for me to overcome my bi-lat pneumonia in Feb. I really expected to feel better a lot quicker than I did! I echo others' thoughts about not rushing back to work - listen to your body! (Mine ususally tries to convince me to lie on the couch and eat chocolate!!)

Cheri - YEAH! I am glad to hear that you're feeling better and coming home tomorrow. Sending well wishes and positive thoughts for your daughter tomorrow!

Charlene - That just sucks that Audrey had to witness that idiot woman's meltdown! How disappointing for your daughter! WildJan made an excellent point about how she treats her horses...I hope she just had a bad day and that she's not that horrible all the time! Sounds like a fun place Audrey ended up going to! I'm glad to hear you're feeling better re: amphibians inhabiting your throat area!

I hope Dean doesn't cause any fear or destruction in any of your lives - for those of you in the area.

For all the Circle - have a great Sunday!

Marsha .. hey, you'll be in my thoughts tomorrow too girlfriend

Wild/Jan .. I'm sure you're right that most horse people are great people. In fact I know someone who owns a horse farm (doesn't do trail rides though) and I'm going to get some reputable names from him with assurances that Audrey can go and ride without any problems!

Odalys .. Great advice regarding the PC problems. Hey I resemble that picture! LOL

Mandy - Audrey ended up having a blast but it wasn't any horse ride! Yes, who knows what made that woman melt down but she looked at Audrey and said, "you're not riding today". Nice. Audrey said to Karl, "let's just go". She handled it so well, no tears or anything. Almost makes me think that she more or less expects this kind of thing too much!
    Happy Anniversary!

Z - OMG, I LOVE that saying from Cartman! Of course the way he says it is part of it's charm! It's been so long since I've watch South Park because of my children being up too often when it's on but that's definitely a favorite! Thanks for reminding me! How appropriate for Cheri! LOL

Good afternoon CG's - I hope everyone is having a good Sunday. The boards seem to be quiet this weekend. I can't believe that we are on page 716!!! i started a notebook to take notes in the middle of February 2007 and we were on page 245. I don't really remember when I signed on as it took me a while to figure out that I needed to take notes.

Mandy happy 18th anniversay. Glad you have a great guy. Wishing you many more happy years together.
Nicki - Glad that you are starting to feel better, but you need to take care of yourself and not go back to work too soon. You need to get all the way well. Pamper yourself for once.
Cheri - hip hip hooray that you are coming home!!!!
Jankay - sorry that you are having computer problems
Odalys - been thinking of you and your dear sister all weekend. Hope you get the test results soon and ofcourse wishing for B9.
Marsha - all the best to you tomorrow with the new breast specialist. I sure hope he sees it your way. How far are you from Orlando?
angel - sorry you daughter and DH were treated so rudely by the lady at the riding studio. Too bad she doesn't realize how quickly "bad" new can spread. I hope you find a place .
for Audrey to ride that is more convenient.
Joyce - I see you are training for a new job - what do you do?

Sweet Gina - haven't seen you post in a few days. How are you doing? Sending you a great big gentle HUG from Denver.
Tricia - how is the weather by you. Are you affected by the storm?
All the girls who are in the south, I sure hope that the storm is not causing any problems for you.
I am having trouble with the Effexor - I think I told you I went up to the full 75mg one Wednesday or Thursday and by yesterday I was so tired and felt like I could not keep my eyes open. So today, I went back to 1/2 tablet. May try alternating between 1/2 and whole tablet everyother day. I still feel in a funk. Not sure what is going on. DH says I seeem distant. Also, my right upper arm is bothering me - at times it feels kind of full - then it goes away. It is not swollen, so don't know if I should be worried. I see my PS tomorrow for my 4 week check up.
Tomorrow Miriam starts 4th grade. She has all her school supplies ready to go. I think she is a little nervous. The kids at my school start tomorrow as well. Noah doesn't go back for another week. His mouth is still sore, but he is starting to feel better. He actually went to work today.

    Good afternoon all
Been mowing lawn, wandering aimlessly around the house, took a nap, watched cartoons with Nate, been a bum (oh yeah...took a shower LOL).
I see Nicki snuck in and said a dirty word...do not say winter yet! I am so not ready for fall to come much less winter. Heating bills alone are gonna kill me if the prices don't go down this winter.
Cheri's comin home! Yippee! I am so glad.
Lini...you said it so well. We seem to all feel the same about the cleavage thing. I know that I went to the mall yesterday and all the college kids have returned to Ithaca! Major mob at the mall...all these pretty girls in their skimpy tank tops with cleavage galore...made me sad. Made me feel old and even though I didn't have much cleavage to start with I miss them sometimes. Ah well...I am alive! I made it to another birthday and I consider that the most important thing.
Charlene...wth...that's just plain bullshit! How in the world can anyone be so rude. I don't know how far away you are but my sister has horse and takes kids to her house all the time to ride. She'd happily take you dd for a day. You may be to far away but I'm so stinkin mad I could spit! Give that girl a hug and tell her that all her wonderful aunts right here would never treat her that way. Grr...does this women do this for a living? Maybe some well written letters complaining would change her attitude. Oh...I am so mad!
Mandy...Happy Anniversary!!! Hope you enjoy many many more!
    Hey Denise...miss ya!
Where is Madison, Liz, Tgirl, ChristineK, CasinoGirl, Shel, oh so many others...come out and play...we miss ya.
    Z...hello...sending a hug.
    Marsha...that's quite a picture LOL
I talked to Jankay too...she is so pickin mad at her computer she is threatening to throw it clear to Australia and wants Peter to know where it came from if it ends up in his yard. She's lonesome without us.
Well...dd is onboard and on her way. They are sailing to the Bahamas...not what I would call a good idea but I'm just the mom LOL. Not sure where Dean is cuz I'm afraid to look. Praying for all in his path. It's been a pretty quiet season so far which is something to be thankful for...lets hope Dean is the last.
Gotta get dinner and I'll be back
    Love and hugs to everyone

Grrrrr...I found my dryer not working this morning. DH hasn't had a chance to look at it yet,I didn't find a fuse tripped. Bad thing is I have a pile of washed towels and washcloths from cleaning up the trike this morning. It has stopped raining and is very windy so threw them all on the line even though it is humid out there. Not sure if that will get them dry. BTW its a MAYTAG so wonder if it isn't living up to its promise!

Hi WildJan and Karen...looks like we were all posting at the same time.

I just read on another thread that Lexapro interfers with Tamoxifen...please say it isn't so...I take both. That would be just grand...all this time and I'm not protected cuz I'm taking Lexapro! Yikes.

Aha! For once Im sneaking in before Vickie makes rounds.

Vickie: I have heard before that some antidepressants interfere with tamoxifen. I dont know much more, will need to do a little research. I was a bum today too and it felt good.

Wild/Jan: I swear there is something in the air. Things seem to be going crazy all around us. Sorry about the dryer. Sometimes you just want say Cant I Get A Break. But then, sounds like your DH is a fixer upper. I would hate to tell ya what my DH would do - probably burn the house down trying to fix it.

Karen: I will probably go back to work tomorrow. Im feeling pretty good - not completely over but good. And if I all of a sudden dont feel well, I can come right home. On Friday I couldnt pull myself outta bed. They say you need to experiement with your anitdepressant to find the right dosage. Then it takes a couple of weeks to really get into your system. I understand that far away feeeling. That happened to me when I took Effexor. Then I switched to Cymbalta. Hope it starts to work soon.

Marsha: I didnt realize how important this appointment is. Its with the new breast surgeon. I hope you have a safe trip and agrees with what you would like your treatment plan to be.

Colleen: Hope your feeling better from this cold really soon. I just hate colds and now pneumonia too. If your not feeling well tomorrow, maybe you should stay home.

Odalys: Wow an elevated temp could mean you had an infection and certainly a reason for the lymph node to be swollen. Just standing here holding you hand, until you get the results.

Mandy: OMG Bil. pneumonia. I couldnt handle that. Nope not at all. This was one unpleasant experience.

Robin: Its good to hear you are feeling so good.

Z: Working in Tahoe? Im very jealous.

Charlene: That was mean spirited by that horse woman. Would love to bop her on the side of the head. Your little girl sounds so special.

OK - back to bed for me. Have a wonderful evening.

    Hi All

Karen:I h ave been on effexor for about a year i guess or a little more.Started out at 75mg,I was having terrible knee and ankle pain from the tamox and did some research on some meds.I first tried the cymbalta for the pain relief properties and that didnt help at all.And I have been on paxil for about 5 years, and one day I found some effexor samples that i had here and read the insert and read in some of my drug books and it has the same pain relief properties that cymbalta has.SO i started taking them and within a week my joint pain was gone. The combination of the 2 worked wonders for me..The 2 months ago when the depression came back so bad and I couldnt keep it hid from Mark my onc he increased the Effexor to 150mg and now I feel great the dark cloud has lifted. It takes awhile for any antidepresssants to build up in our system and we can get over the sleepiness and lethargy that goes with it.If there is anyway you tolerate the side effects.

Welcome Sam this is the place to be.

Madison:I will get that out to you this week.

Margaret:thank you for your kind words. You give me strenght to go on.Just knoing I have you girls on my side means alot to me.I am tired of being miserable and lonley.and I refuse to be anymore.I have a great evening planned tonite and will share some of the details with you when i get home.

    GOtta run now.BBL

    Colleen .. Feel better!

Karen .. thank you regarding Audrey. It stinks that they drove two hours to get there for nothing and then two hours back! I'm still so mad about it. Would it be wrong of me to post a link here, just to show you how nice they place seemed to be?

Vickie .. Thank you too. I think I'm a good five hours away from you at least but I do appreciate your offer of going to your sisters. It is bullshit isn't it! I'm still in a mood from it all! Well, my daughter sure won't go out on her own with rose colored glasses on, that's for sure!
Regarding the Lexapro, it has been shown to interfere with Tamoxifen. You can take the CY2D6 test to see if you are metabolizing Tamoxifen properly or if it may be interfering. The only two antidepressants I know of that don't seem to be a problem are Effexor and Cymbalta. I'm on Cymbalta.

Wild/Jan .. oh, the dryer not working is the worst! Happened to me a few months back. It needed a new drum. Luckily it was under warranty still.

Robin .. I was also having terrible knee and leg pain from the Tamoxifen! Funny the Cymbalta works for me. But different things will work for different people. Good advice to Karen!
