Hello,
I did read that Cheri is getting "sprung" from the hospital......so very happy that the antibiotics are working
Robin, love your new attitude....YOU ARE STRONG
Karen, I tried all the antidepressents....the only one I can take is Wellbutrin.....hubby did say I was going slightly crazy taking the others......
Vickie, sounds like you had a busy day. Liz's MIL was taken to the hospital today.....we need to send some good thoughts her way...
I went to mass this morning, cleaned house, gave the dog a bath and worked on an afghan for the last 4 hours.....working on the afghans makes me feel closer to all of you......
Wild/Jan....grrrr hate when appliances quit working. My dad was a fix-it man....DH is NOT.....good luck with the Maytag
Angel, why would someone want to be mean to your daughter....we teach our children to respect adults....then adults act worse than kids......give your child a hug from me.....my daughters loved to ride horses. There was a young man attending Veterinary school when my two oldest daughters were in high school....he would teach horseback riding and grooming in the summer to earn extra money. I think he may have had a positive influence on my oldest as she is the Veterinarian. We want our children around POSITIVE INDIVIDUALS...not mean people.
Nicki, glad you are feeling better....I know you will take care and NOT OVERDO at work......
Marsha, sending some good thoughts your way .let us know how the appointment goes tomorrow.
Odalys, thinking of you also ..and your sister.

Cheri, I'll be so glad when you are home and I can talk to you on your cell phone again. Costs Less.LOL
Odalys are you getting a biopsy tomorrow or have you already had it and are waiting. I know you are waiting for your sisters results.
Marsha you are meeting with a new breast surgeon? I'm trying to remember. I guess this means you have not had reconstruction yet. Hope the meeting goes well.
Ok lets see if I got this. Effexor and Cymbalta are anti-depressants and they take away pain. I have lots of pain and I cam currently taking lexapro. Right now my orthopedic surgeon has me on celebrex for pain. I'm sure my internist will be thrilled about that. <sarcasm>
I've also heard of a drug called mobic. Has anyone tried that?
Betty I hope you had a great day for your birthday.
Jasmine, where are you. I miss you!!
Madison, it looks like Dean is going west of you. Is that still the case?? For any of you who may be threatened please let me know so I can pray for you.
Robin you will just have to show us pictures of the new girls.
hugs for everybody.0 -
I watch you as you glow,
a star you shine so bright.
I watch you each evening,
your beauty so bright.
Just before going to bed,
I go to my window and stare.
I say my bedtime prayers,
and tell you how much I care.
I tell you that I love you,
and would hug you oh so tight.
I lie down to sleep now,
and keep you in sight.
I start to drift off slowly,
and watch your fading light.
My last words before dreamland,
I wish you a good night.
good night and sweet dreams dear friends
Love ya

So glad to hear that our dear Cheri is going to get to come home!
Well I managed to get one piece of dry wall measuresed and cut and ready to hang in the bathroom. Now I have to wait until I can get someone to help me hang it. It started raining so can't get anymore cut until it stops and drys out. Hopefully I can get more done next weekend.
I'm really anxious for Wed to get here so I can get the scans done and more anxious for Thursday so I can find out what the results are.
Now on top of all this going on this week I will need to get a root canal scheduled in there sometime. Orajel has become my new best friend. I don't remember the other teeth that had to have root canals hurting this bad! I sure hope I can get financing to get it done soon! maybe that's why my ears have been ringing for the last two weeks???
I just want you all to know how much you mean to me. I can't sit up for long periods right now so am not on here as much as I'd like. Maybe I'll go work on some squares.
hugs & prayers0 -
Here's to Nicki feeling better!
And here's to Cheri coming home

Hi all,
welcome Sam--I am new here too...I do go to the chat room every night too. Yes, it is fast at times but you will get used to it. Great girls there too.
Nicki--glad you are felling better
Odalys good luck with bx
Colleen-- beautiful pic of you and son
Cheryl--terrible what co-worker said about handicap parking. She just doesn't know what she is talking about.
Charlene--I saw GMA--I thought they presented bc like the common cold. I emailed to them about how I felt, too. It's like they don't have a clue!!!
Lisa--pic of granddaughter so beautiful Love her name!!
Vickie--cruise ships don't go if they can't Had a coworker once that started towards Bermuda--storm headed their way so they turned around and went to Nova Scotia. But nonethless,it would still make me nervous!!
ok--whew--I am new at this so I have to get used to taking notes and stuff. I will get used to it. You are a great bunch!! I joined the Secret Pal and am taking a class on crochetting so I can contribute to afgans.
Love you all...Candie

life's a long song-Jethro Tull0 -
Hi everyone, back from Las Vegas and we had such a good time, just the girls. We said we're going to do it next year, so we'll see. We saw Mamma Mia last night - I'm surprised how many of ABBA songs I DON'T remember.
Susan, you should go to Las Vegas - we had a great time, and you can't beat a non-stop flight.
Wild Jan, look at the curls. Mine was very curly too but I felt like Bozo the clown with my mop and it was some kind of weird color. Couldn't figure out why my dryer wasn't drying - hubby checked it out and apparently a bird had built a nest in the vent so the air couldn't flow through. Never saw the eggs so don't know what happened there.
Madison, wow, what an awesome picture of Dean. I'm watching it on the news right now.
Lisa, what a cute baby.
Nicki, I can understand about life partners but I think it should be more of a shared partnership rather than you doing all the work.
Cheri, are you home yet? Sending positive thoughts for Amber's biopsy.
Charlene, what a mean woman, like it would have hurt her to do it since she was already there anyway.
Karen, I'm sorry you are still having problems with Effexor.
Marsha, good luck with your appt.
CY, hugs to you; hope you are feeling good.
Cheryl, must have missed the handicapped parking. I have a thing about that because hubby has one becuse of his knees and ankles.
Gina, how are you doing?
Ok, time for dinner - tritip with Santa Maria seasoning, fresh corn on the cob, and a salad. Who's coming for dinner?
Hugs to all Amy to Z, missed many but am thinking about you all.
Margaret0 -
Evening everyone, just got home from the hospital (did crochet quite a bit though). Poor MIL was only home 4 days. I wish my BIL would realize this is not going to end. She honestly needs Hospice care but he's refusing. So she's in and out of the hospital. I'm hoping the doctor will address it with him.
I did have time to start getting Secret Pals ready. I'm waiting on a few responses then we'll be ready to go.
Madison - I think DD and I will be fine. Most of the flooding is south of us. How's she doing? I need to have my vet make the appointment with them. Hmmmm wonder if I can request her? I'll have to ask.
I've also been watching Dean and remembering as a child when I lived in Southeast Texas.
I haven't had a chance to read much. I'm going to do that and try to BBL.
Sweet dreams and prayers to you all
Liz0 -
Hi to all - I'm going through mail that has piled up this past week while I was visiting daughter and family. I left Richard in the mountains doing some major house repairs and had to go to the restaurant and do some prep work to open tomorrow so haven't been home long.
I had an "anniversary" today. As of today, I'm two years from diagnosis. Can I start to breath easier now????
Nicki, glad to hear you continue to improve. I don't have to remind you that if you push to hard going trying to go back to work, you can really set yourself back. Just be careful!!! Nicki, maybe this cough is just allergies - it is so dry here. I've noticed that my ankles are swelling and I seem to be shorter of breath than usual too. Not sure they are related at all. My echo's have been perfectly normal so I'm not really worried about problems from the Adria. The cough though is just this dry, hacking, tickling, nonproductive thing that just drives you nuts.
Odalys, hoping the temp caused the swollen node. It sure sounds like that is a good possibility - keeping fingers and toes crossed for you.
Deb - hope you and family are home from the fair and had a great time. Can't wait to hear your stories - they are always funny, happy times.
SoCalLisa - your GD is just adorable!!!!!!! You truly take great pictures.
Vicki - I agree. I'm not ready for fall and definitely not winter. I don't even like to think about it's fast approach. The leaves are falling here but it is because it is so dry. Now it is dry when kudzu starts to wilt!!!
Colleen, hope you start to feel better.
Marsha - good luck with the breast surgeon. Hope you like him and that he agrees to do your surgery.
Z- when will you know about your biopsy.
Susan - have missed you. Cheri is depending on you to help with Pinkstock 08 - you gals are gonna be busy.
Margaret - hope you had a wonderful time; glad you are safely home.
Betty - hope you enjoyed your birthday and got home safely.
To everyone - hope you had a great Sunday and wishing everyone a great week. I haven't gotten my suitcase, etc., out of the car yet so better get that done.
Stay safe - Hugs to all, Brenda0 -
Yup, they just booted me again. No rhyme or reason....just invalid.
I swear, it's always when I'm half asleep and actually make a long post!
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.............they've got to fix that invalid thingy.
Hugs,
Denise0 -
Good evening, All. A short post only for me. Good weekend but it went by so fast. Last night was the Queen's Ball and we raised over $3,000.00 for the girls from our group who are doing the 3day. It was a fun, exciting and tiring night. The highlight for me was dancing to "I will survive" with my other survivor sisters. It is always so emotional to be part of those things.
After the gig, came the cleanup. I vacuumed past the point of pain and as a result, and unable to move much today without pain. Midback has the tightest muscles ever and standing up is excruciating. sorry...seems I always bitch and moan.
I thought of you all so much last night and wish you could have been a part of it with me. Have a lot to do this week at work and know it will be so tiring so crashing for now.
Everyone, from A to Z....God bless you and keep you safe.
Pam
P.S. I also heard there is a computer that maybe headed your way. Look for falling debris!!
Jankay... really.... hope you can fix it and use it as an instrument. So good to talk to you the last two days.0 -
Just popping in to say hi. I had unexpected but welcomed company all day today. It was a nice day.
Joy--chemo buddy. I am doing pretty good. I thing the switching from Lexapro to Effexor was a good choice for me. The boys go back to school tomorrow. Ahhhhh.
Gina--where are you. It seems like ages since I have seen a post from you. Are you O.K.?
Good night to everyone from A to Z.0 -
Madison .. That's a good question , I think she must be mentally unstable! You're absolutely right about wanting our children around positive individuals and not mean people! Knowing what I do now it's better she didn't ride there but what a way to find out! That's great about your Veterinarian daughter! My niece works at a horse farm, grooming and caring for a horse in exchange for free board. She gets to ride it whenever she wants. She's in Maryland and it would have turned out to be a closer drive but I wanted a trail ride for Audrey. It's also hard to coordinate with my niece's schedule. She's also on her way to becoming a Veterinarian and a top college softball player! Thanks for the hug for Audrey!
Susan .. I haven't heard of Mobic but yes you have it right about Effexor and Cymbalta. For various chronic pain issues I have I take Cymbalta, Neurontin and Soma daily. I had additional pain when I went on the Tamoxifen that I didn't have before (knees..about the only place I wasn't hurting lol) which improved over time of being on the Cymbalta. Of course now my recon isn't helping all my other issues so I take Darvocet on the worse days. The Cymbalta pamphlet that comes with the prescription states:
"Duloxetine(Cymbalta) may improve your mood, sleep, appetite and energy level and decrease nervousness. It can also decrease pain caused by nerve damage."
Cymbalta is also prescribed for fibromyalgia because of how it helps you sleep which is such a necessary component of controlling fibromyalgia pain.
Because it's an SNRI it appears safe to take with Tamoxifen as opposed to the SSRI's like Lexapro which may inhibit the metabolization of Tamoxifen.
I also have a prescription for Celebrex (was on Vioxx and Bextra before they got pulled from the market) but my stomach hurt so bad after I started on it that I feared the very rare but fatal stomach bleeding it can cause and it was right before my surgery so I especially didn't want any problems. I stopped taking it and haven't started again. The Neurontin I take also helps with peripheral neuropathy and other nerve pain condition and has been shown to decrease hot flashes. I still get them from the Tamoxifen but they've definitely decreased. I assume they'd be much more frequent if I wasn't on the Neurontin.
So sorry if this was TMI .. just want to be helpful and I've been living with chronic pain since my early 20's so it's something I've become too educated about!
Here's a link regarding the SSRI's and Tamoxifen for anyone interested. Not easy to read but you might want to scroll down to the paragraph that begins "The Bottom Line: ...". Then print it out and take it in to discuss with your doctor!
http://jop.ascopubs.org/cgi/content/full/1/4/155
CY .. You sure manage so much with all you're coping with! Now a root canal of all things on top of it all ... yuck! Will be thinking of you this week and sending positive vibes for good scan results! Big hugs sister.
Marisa .. cute pics!
Candie .. I haven't been watching GMA and won't simply because of what I heard about it. Good for you sending them that email! I'd love for them to get so much mail about it that they address their ignorance. Do you think they would?
Somehow I doubt it but we can hope!
Margaret .. Glad you enjoyed Vegas! Regarding the mean woman today I like to think that people like that get theirs in the end. Like the vet who threw Devon's cat in the trash last week right in front of Devon who is only 11. Scary how insensitive so many people are! That's another one to report to the BBB.
Liz .. I'm sorry to hear about your MIL. Sweet dreams to you too.
Brenda .. Congratulations on 2 years! I'm told Most recurrences occur in the first two years so you've definitely reached a milestone! I look forward to getting to that myself in 19 months!
Pam .. Congratulations on the Queens Ball fundraiser! I'm sure it was both fun and emotional. Sorry you're in so much pain. I hope you have something to take for it. Gentle hugs to you.
I was talking to Jankay and my IM just stopped responding in mid chat. Then everything froze. I finally got back on and told her I'm going to throw my PC all the way to Australia with hers!
Denise .. oh how frustrating. Hugssssssssssss!
BMD .. glad your day was nice.
Here's a link to the place Audrey was supposed to ride the horse at today. They supposedly let the rider get aquainted with the horse for an hour and then ride the trail for an hour and a half. It's a bed and breakfast but they also do just trail rides (supposedly!). Doesn't it look nice? http://www.horseloversb-b.com/ridings_stables_.html
Well that's it for me, hope all from A - Z have pleasant dreams and restful sleep.
Hugs&Love,
Charlene0 -
Well, I don't think I'll ever get used to waiting for test results. Waiting sucks. I've spent the day resting and taking it easy. I'm calmer than yesterday. Thanks for all the kind words, thought, and prayers. They mean the world to us.
Steven starts 4th grade tomorrow. I still can't believe it. It seems like yesterday he was starting kindergarten and not too long ago was keeping me up at night because of colics. Time goes by so fast.
Susan - I had lymph node bx on Thursday and sister had breast bx on the same day. We are both waiting for the results.
Liz - so sad about your MIL. It's not easy for family to accept Hospice care. I hope for her sake the family can come to terms with it so she can have some quality of life.
Cheri - Hope you have a safe trip home. Tomorrow at this time you are going be sleeping in your own bed. That must sound great right now.
Vickie - I can't believe your DD will be going on a cruise with Dean out there. We are experiencing heave winds and rip currents. Sorry, I don't mean to scare you. It would not surprise me if her trip gets canceled.
Lisa - your GD is adorable; such a sweet face.
Wishing everyone from A to Z a peaceful and restful night.
Love and hugs to all,0 -
Hopefully will have biopsy results tomorrow.

Well crap ..We had a great time at the fair ate way too much fair food, including cheesecake in a cone, which should probably be illegal it is sooooo good and an elephant ear (which is like a giant, flat fried dough concoction covered with powdered sugar and cinnamon Amy and then we came home and less than an hour later we had a big-ass mama brown bear and 2 2-year-old cubs on the lawn eyeing my chickens and my friends horse that is pastured here!!! Talk about a rude homecoming! We chose to chase them off instead of kill them, which I hope and pray we dont live to regret. I worry so much about the kids and my animals when we know we have bears that close and that unafraid .freaks me out!
Anyway I doubt my heart will quit doing double-time any time soon, so I am going to go back and read to catch up.
Sending everyone big hugs
Deb C
Anyone want a bear or two? We seem to have extra ..0 -
Good Morning Everyone: We had some pretty bad storms here last night. Electricity went out a couple of times, but not for too long. I feel sleepy this morning, but other than that, I am feeling much better. Thank goodness for good old fashioned antibiotics.
DebC: What a post to wake up too. First of all the cheesecake cone sounds out of this world. Then coming home to Bears in your yard. I hope they really did get scared away and dont come back.
Odalys: Waiting for biopsy results does suck. I will be praying so hard for you today that both tests come back normal. Ya know I was curious what its like by the ocean when a hurricane is moving in from a different area. Your description was great. I could really visualize it.
Charlene: Pretty good information about Cymbalta. I dont understand this IM thing. If you are talking to someone who has a virus, cant you get that virus through the IM?
Pam: such a nice story, dancing to "I Will Survive." Sorry for the muscle pain after the clean up though.
Denise: Try to do what I do. I type in a few words and then save it write away. Then I go to the right hand corner and click edit - then it allows me to add more as I go along. I proabably save what I have written after every paragraph. The invalid post is nerve wracking.
Brenda: First of all congratulations on your 2 year anniversary. Photobucket is down, or I would be posting a happy dance for you. My cough was a dry, hacking cough. No mucous. I dont know if it was related to the pneumonia thingy - but it made me crazy. Sometimes when I was in a meeting, I would have to grab a life saver to continue coughing. So I dont like the sounds of your ankles swelling and getting SOB. I think you need to see your doctor just to make sure everything is ok.
Liz: Sorry to hear about your MIL being sick again. I think hospice is an excellent idea. Someone needs to sit down with BIL and let him know in reality by saying no, he is only thinking of himself, not his mom.
MargaretB: Oh i do love LasVegas. I forgot your were going away and was wondering where you were. I havent forgotten the things that were said to me. Have a whole lot of angry that is bursting inside. I was thinking what I really need is a vacation, alone on an Island to just work things through my head. Thanks for all your support.
Candie: When I was first diagnosed I spent hours on the chat. Had to move to the discussion boards when I went back to work. They are both good for getting and giving support.
CY: Sure sounds like you have one heck of a tooth infection. You need to go to the dentist and probably get an antiboitic too. Nothing is worse that a tooth ache. Good luck with your scans this week.
Susan: You are sounding chipper. There have been an awful lot of things going on here in the circle. So many, its hard to keep track. Its been a rough week for many.
Madison: I hoping that Dean doesnt come near ya. Stay safe.
Robin: Glad to hear things are going good. Hope you enjoyed your evening.
Well, I guess I better get my tired body into the shower. Have a wonderful day.
Nicki0 -
ok...this is the third friggin try...I don't know what my clumsy fingers are hitting but it deletes my post immediately. grrrr...had one really long post done...started a second and hit the mystery button again...
I love ya all...hope everyone has a grand day and I'll catch up after payroll!
Vickie0 -
Good Morning Sunshine sister Vickie.
Nicki0 -
Good Morning Friends. Had a wonderful time yesterday with Choca/Elaine and Lindsey and Teri from chat. We went to Downtown Disney, had lunch at Planet Hollywood and then wandered around in the brain frying heat for a few hours. Got some great pictures. I'll post them when I get home. Hope everyone had a good weekend. I see Nicki is feeling better and Cheri is coming home. YEHAW! And something about a nasty person being mean to Audrey. Grrrrrrrr. Charlene want me to come and kick some butt? No one gets to be mean to my adopted babies.
Heading to St Augustine today with my dad. Four more days and I'll be on my way home. Have to be at the airport at 4am on Sat. What in the world possessed me to make a flight that early?
Have a great day dears. See you tomorrow.0 -
Good morning dear sisters. We are praying for all those in the path of Dean. What a monster Hurricane.
Wishing everyone a good day. BBL0 -

Good morning Jan, you're back online. I don't see you signed into msn though.

Brenda, congrats on the two years. It seems that two years is the magic number. What is kudzu?
Charlene, I always taught my kids to be well mannered and when they were much younger, we owned a houseboat that we went to every weekend. There was a little old lady that cleaned the bathrooms in exchange for docking fees and of course, after a long drive, the first place we would hit when we got there was the bathroom. This woman was mean - she would always say something to my kids - of course, not in front of me. I gave them permission to ask her if she was naturally this mean or if she had to work at it. Here I try to teach my kids to respect their elders and this is what she does to earn their respect - needless to say, they didn't respect her at all.
Odalys, you are right, waiting sucks. Thinking positive thoughts for both you and your sister.
Deb, I caught a headline the other day that a volcano is close to erupting in Alaska? Oh my, cheesecake in a cone - oh yum. I don't know how you do it with all those bears around.
Denise, remember to use the cut and paste or Nicki's method. I find it so frustrating with the invalid post....
Nicki, my extra bedroom will soon be finished so if you need a vacation, come on out and visit SF - you can stay with me. I think there are some $99 fares to San Francisco from Chicago......just a thought. I might even be able to take a day of vacation to hang out.
Shirley, 4 am - what were you thinking? Can't wait to see pics.
Jankay, puter up and running? I can't believe my withdrawals when I don't have access to the computer.
Time to shower. Everyone from Amy to Z, have a good day. Madison and Shokk, do you have to worry about Dean hitting your areas?
Margaret0 -
Good morning all.. a quick fly by from work and lots to read back...
HUgs MB0 -
Morning everyone! Everyone is in my thoughts and prayers today. I'm off and running but will be back later.
Hugs
Liz0 -
Morning all, I think I need another week to rest. Geesh! Its Monday already.
Brenda-I think it was you that mentioned the dry cough. Yep I have it also and I've even at some point convinced myself it was mets to the lungs. No idea what it is or how to stop it but it drives me insane.
Margaret-What is kudzu? I take it you havent spent much time in the south,,,lmao. Kudzu is a vine that when left uncontrolled will eventually grow over almost any fixed object in its proximity including other vegetation. I think you can actually watch it grow sometimes. It is rumored that you must close your windows at night to keep it from creeping inside. Probably more than you wanted to know,,huh?
AlaskaDeb-oh my gosh bears! I hope they dont return. Thanks for the explanation of the elephant ear. Am I right to imagine it being like a funnel cake? Maybe the mention of your cheesecake will bring Mena out of hiding.
Nicki-glad to see you feeling better but I would be willng to bet when you get out and about you will realize you arent feeling as well as you think you are. It always takes a while to bounce back but you know that. Gotta get your energy built up so you can kick some DH butt.
Cheri-hope they dont drag their feet in letting you out today. I have a sneaky feeling you wont be quiet about it.
Angel-sorry the horse ride didnt turn out so well. Hard to imagine an adult acting like that but it happens all the time.
Shirley-have fun hanging out with your dad today. A 4 am flight,,geesh,,insane if you ask me. I dont think I do 4 am.
Odalys-crossing my fingers for good results today.
Jankay-got a good laugh out of your post this morning.
Adrionna-I do copy and paste but it never fails when I forget to copy is when the monster gets me.
Madison-sent you a PM and giving those pupsters a big hug and kiss from you. They are 2 weeks old now so wont be long till you have to decide on a boy or a girl.
NS-speaking of boy or girl,,still interested? You dont have to hide though I wont force it on you,,lol. Come out come out wherever you are.
Iris-hope you had a great weekend.
ok I got pics that I took this weekend which will be coming up next. Hugs to all.
