Dang I miss my laptop ... hard sitting up at the desk with an aching chest and back. Waaaa, waaaa, waaaaa!

Deb .. Cheesecake in a cone .. oh yummy! Sooo, have you had to shoot the bears in your yard before?

Nicki .. Glad you're home and not working. The only way to get a virus through IM is if somebody sends you a file and you accept it and it has a virus attached. Just like email though, you don't have to open it and it gives you the option. Usually we just chat on IM though.

Shirley .. You are one tough little cookie and I'm glad you're on my side! I sent that mean woman an email asking for an explanation and am awaiting a reply. I won't hold my breath. Have fun with Dad! 4AM?? .. I think I wouldn't bother going to bed the night before!

Jankay .. You are too funny! LOL

Margaret .. It's hard to respect elders who behave that way isn't it! I love how you gave your kids permission to ask if she was naturally that mean or if she had to work at it! I'd have done the same thing!

Liz and Madison .. Good afternoon now!

SoCal .. I'm waiting for Karl to get my harddrive back in this box I'm using .. I'm so afraid I'm going to lose all my pics and docs on there!

Susan .. You're welcome! Good luck with the doc, let us know how you make out. We shouldn't have to be in so much pain if we can help it.

    (((((( Puppy ))))))

Amy .. awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! well your puppy pictures just made me feel better, thank you! I want a puppy!!!

Wild/Jan .. Hope things start looking up for you soon. I emailed my sister about Hurricane Dean and she brought up Hurricane Alisha from 1983! Said they had no power for a week then but were prepared as they are now for the worst if need be.

Jan .. Glad you survived the fam damily party and had fun! Now time for the not so fun clean up! Ouch about the thumb, thank goodness it wasn't worse!

Madison .. How is your DD doing?

Denise .. Oh what a yucky way to start a monday for you! Glad you're getting it fixed though. One good thing .. you didn't have much time to dread the dentist appt! Yep, mom is still here thank goodness. I scheduled my next fill for two weeks away this time to give my skin time to stretch and get some relief! Thanks for the hugs for Audrey. That woman is the kind of stuff kids nightmares are made of!
As far as the anti-depressants, at this point I'm only aware of it being the SSRI's with Tamoxifen. If you're on a different a-d and anti hormonal .. well, who knows. It seems we always need to educate our doctors. I'd ask about it though.
HA - Cox inhibitor .. too funny!

MizSissy .. Sorry you're having a tough time painting Hugs to you.

Margaret .. What is tritip? It made me think of q-tip!

Gina .. LKE gave you good advice about coming to the circle. It seems to me that you are having your share of problems and we want to be able to support you with them. It's ridiculous what you're dealing with. I want to scream at these insurance idiots! It really shouldn't be this freakin' hard. Cancer is hard enough and then dealing with that crap is just wrong. Big big hugs to you.

Sheri .. what a horrible tragedy one of your teacher friends is going through! I'll let the nurses here speak to you about the bump on your leg! I hope it's not too painful.

Cheri .. waiting to hear from you safe and sound at home...glad you liked the happy dance I sent lol

Iris Angel and Jazz .. miss you here!!!

Well off to take another pain pill and muscle relaxer. Mom made homemade potato soup for dinner. mmmmmmm, going to go eat some. I hope everyone has a great evening and hugs and love to all

Gina: What the heck! I have had it up to my neck and beyond with these damn insurance companies dictating what can and can not be done. I won't rant about it, cuz you certainly don't need to hear it! Cleft Pallate Surgeon.......unreal! I hope your letters work and I really hope your scheduled surgery doesn't get way-layed.
Don't ever worry about coming here with problems........my goodness........you started this thread for all of us!!

Nicki: What a way to spend a vacation..but I'm glad that you are taking the time off. I suppose Chemo could have damaged your immune system........but like you said, DH isn't catching any of it. You've had xrays and scans and all seemed okay. Do you have asthma? Well little lady, I was hoping your vacation was around labor day.....I did a map quest and found out we are only 4 1/2 hours apart! I was hoping that if we both drove a couple of hours that we could meet and spend the day together! I can't do it before the 30th. though. Think we can work it out?

Margaret: You had better get shopping! 3 weeks away.....!
My Son's wedding is in 2 1/2 months and I don't have tickets yet........not good as I really can't be late!! A dress....I'm not really the standard formal mother of the bride/groom type when it comes to dresses. Don't much like the straight dress with the little beaded jacket on me. Guess I had better start looking too!

Sheri: Wow, that sounds like a mess your friend is in. Hope all works out okay for her. Don't know about your goopy pimple thing.........calling all nurses! My first thought was an ingrown hair, but that shouldn't cause that much oozing! If you need a reminder about having it checked out, we'll be happy to post the pics of Cheri's leg! Seriously, keep an eye on it and you know if it gets worse what to do.

WildJan: DH will probably throw me in the pond with the turtles again.............something else in my "dark Past"!! But, I'll try to find the pic of the dryer repair for you!!
Thanks for the compliment on my name..actually borrowed it from my little Granddaughter! When I first signed on here, I didn't even know what a user name was.........pathetic isn't it?! I've been thinking of changing it.......don't want her to get in trouble down the line for something her Grandma Did or Said!!!!

No news yet from Cheri, (Amber), Odalys or Marsha??

    I'll check in later!
    Hugs,
    Denise

Wild/Jan: Okay, this one is for you! Long story short.....dryer door had been acting up, hard to shut...On a Sunday night I suggested to DH that he take a look at it....well, it wouldn't stay shut at all when he finished! He came in a bit later and told me he had it fixed good enough for me to use the next day..........keep in mind that my DH can build anything and is a designer for autos!!!!

Afternoon all. Evening to some. Morning to others.

Gina-- Hugs, Hugs and more Hugs. Glad you posted. We were all worried about you. Apparently for good reason. Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time.

Denise--That so looks like something my dh would do. I could plan on using it like that for about a year though.

Well I did not take notes today so I am sending hugs to everyone struggling. I had another pretty good day so no complaints from me. It is only 4:00 though.LOL

I forgot to tell you all about the virus' found in my computer. Apparently there is a virus attachment to some emails labeled e-greetings. I did open one of these emails because I thought maybe it came from someone here. I have received several e-cards from members of this site so I thought it was O.K.

If an e-greeting is not from someone you are sure you know don't open it.

Sheri: Im shaking my head cause I still cant believe the kids are back in school. Since I drive around all day that means the school buses are back.

I agree with Denise, could have been an ingrown hair, a pimple, or a little boil. I would put some bacitracin ointment on it.

    Charlene: Potato soup sounds yummy.

Denise: Being a nurse you would think I know whats going on in my body. All I know is I keep getting lung infections more than the average person and it wasnt that way before chemo.

Good evening Peter. Seems like feeling run down is the norm around here lately. Lots of things going on.

Denise: Wow, I didnt realize we were that close to each other. To tell you the truth, I feel relaxed now knowing I have this whole week to just recooperate. When is the 30th? I will still have a 3 day week-end. Lets talk more later.

BMD: These viruses are scary. Im just glad I have updated virus protection.

Gina, I submit insurance at a dental office. I know, you have to be relentless with these insurance companies. Hopefully, Hillary can do something for you. She is a champion for healthcare. Just keep writing!!!! Make yourself the biggest pain in the ass you can! They have to relent and let you use your breast surgeon. This is so not fair! What the healthcare system in this country does to us is inexcusable! I am tired of feeling like a second class citizen, because I don't have a penis. Oops! Yes, I said it! For crying out loud, this is the 21st century, not the Dark ages!

    Awww Puppy, you're so Sweet!!!

Jan .. I'm right there with you. Once at work I was so ticked off that I shot an email out about something and sarcastically apologized for not having that thing between my legs to make me be taken seriously and instead I was going to come across as being a bitch. LOL It's ridiculous that in this day and age women are still treated as second class citizens.

    Peter .. feel better

Odalys .. Oh, that's the best news I've heard all day! Yippee!!!!!!! Happy Dance time!

Congrats Odalys, always good to hear B9. You hate having to stress about it, but glad the news came out good.

Put some antibiotic cream on sore, and yes, it is sore. It's not real red, I guess I've always used that as an indicator of infection. Will keep an eye on it though.

Nicki, I keep meaning to tell you that I had a terrible case of pneumonia almost exactly 2 years ago. I ended up in the hospital for 10 days! It was like you, I didn't really feel that sick, just run down. Finally went to the emergency room when I started having trouble breathing. My onc said it was my immune system. You've been fighting so many infections lately your body may not get a chance to really recover. Glad you are getting this extra week off! Be sure to take ALL you antibiotics (do nurses have to be reminded, too?) My dh NEVER finishes his, always leaves at least one pill.

Back to my sore on my leg. Would you believe my first thought was an infected lymph node? I had myself getting a biopsy and everything. Nothing like jumping straight to the worst thing I could think of. Now I have cancer behind my knee!

No time to read since my last post but wanted to put this in here...
DH was having more pain in his leg so the bone doc moved up the CAT scan that was schedualed at the end of this month to last week. He saw the doc today and it looks like the main break hasn't healed at all since the surgery they did in May that put a chemical in there to make it heal along with all the new screws put in. Doc thinks he's been too active since this last surgery. If that is so then why doesn't he give him some kind of a leg brace, hasn't had one since day one of this accident.

He's been back to work full time since our vacation and is trying to work out something with his boss so he can be work from home again part of the time. I said "you know the doc told us a few months ago that a break like this never heals for some people. If that is so, you may have to think about giving up the VTX as you may not be able to ride it due to the weight issues on that bad leg especially if it stays broken." Kinda disheartening to see it is looking more like a possibility of having to give up 2 wheels despite the fact he has followed all doctors orders during this ordeal. At least he can handle the trike though.

    Hi All

Brenda:I have been getting those greeting cards also.i get at least 10 every day from people I dont even know. And then I keep getting viagra, and porn sites.I have no idea how they got my private email but they did.I keep blocking them and they keep coming.

    Nicki:How are you feeling.

    JanKay:You up and running yet?

Doris:So sorry I keep missing you.I have been in and out the past few days.I should be alone one wed, will try and give you a ring then.Somehow the laundry and house work is overwhelming me this time.

Emelee:thank you sweetie for wanting to come to TN and take care of EVIL..We have a convoy going with vicki, amy, denise,Jankay and a few others.Got the backhoe dieseled up and ready to roll.

Sue:Sure have missed seeing you, glad you are back. You are a ture inspiration to me.

Mena:we just cant do without you dear..

Charlene.Illness makes us do crazy thing.

Donna: thank you for your compliment.

Susan:the good side of EVIL that came out didnt last long. Now he's back to his evil ways. And if thats not enough they changed his work schedule to 12-8pm.now I have to look at him everymorning and every evening.I hope he finds somewhere else to go.I told him i didnt want him to go with me when I have sugery, then I asked him exactly why he dosent go (dont know if i am repeating myself or not,if I am so sorry, still cant get away from chemo brain)anyway he said the "HE has just been thru so much he cant take anymore"...HE has been thru so much...I beg to differ. He said all he does is pace and smoke,I told him thats the problem. He will come to my room for 10minuts then leave to go smoke and be gone for 3 hours. So no help from him.BUt i will get thru this without him.

Has anyone had the lat flap? and expanders? Could anyone shed some light on what is to come? What I am most concerned about is the fills each week.Do they hurt as bad as I have heard?I am going to do the stretching exercises like Nicki said she did.I have just about had all the pain i can stand.

Denise:I will send you a picture of the girls when they make their grand unveiling..I cant wait..I get to go by the 6 foot rule and will be able to drive the men in the nursing home wild when I am 90 with my still perky girls.

Thats it for me tonite.I have been so sleepy today for some reason cant hardly stay awake.Think I am gonna turn in.

    Everyone have a great nite..

Hi everyone, thanks for all the prayers and well wishes for my MIL. I just don't understand my husband and his family. They inserted an NG (feeding) tube in her today to give her some medicine she wouldn't drink. She's always hated it. However, they do not have any IV's etc. and she's not drinking. I would be in the doc's face asking questions - but they're just waiting to see what happens. I will not do it for them though. They have to make a decision. I explained to my DH that they needed to sit down with her doctor and discuss options. Also, he and his family needed to discuss his mothers quality of life as in my opinion she doesn't have one now.

Okay enough of my ranting. Thanks for listening.

    Odalys - YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheri - are you home kiddo? I've been thinking of Amber all day. Hugs and Prayers to you both.

Nicki - I'm glad to see you're going to take some time for you. It's not fun being on vacation and being sick, but you need some time to recoup. Gentle hugs.

Gina - oh man! Will it ever stop for you? Sent you a PM.

Angel - ouch! I remember the fills. Hang in there and remember no heating pads!

    Jan - get some rest!

Denise - would you believe my dryer door is still holding with the velcro? LOL I so don't like dentists. Hope your mouth is feeling better.

Wild/Jan - sorry to hear about your DH. I would think they would give him a brace also. Might want to call and ask about that tomorrow.

Christine - how's the hand and roof?

Vickie - give Nate a bit hug from the hoot! LOL Love you guys.

    Madison - how are things?

CasinoGirl - howdy! Wish you were going to be in town on the 16th of Sept. But I know you're doing something important. You'll get certified. That is so cool. I can't even swim enough to save my life!

Okay - SIL is on the phone. I'll bbl.

Hugs and Prayers to all from Amy to Z!

    Lessons in Life

    By Regina Brett

To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me.
It is the most-requested column I've ever written. My odometer rolls over to 50 this week, so here's an update:
    1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
    2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
    3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
    4. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
    5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
    6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
    7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.
    8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
    9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
    10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
    11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.
    12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.
    13. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
    14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.
    15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.
    16. Life is too short for long pity parties. Get busy living, or get busy dying.
    17. You can get through anything if you stay put in today.
    18. A writer writes. If you want to be a writer, write.
    19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.
    20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.
    21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.
    22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.
    23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
    24. The most important sex organ is the brain.
    25. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
    26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: "In five years, will this matter?"
    27. Always choose life.
    28. Forgive everyone everything.
    29. What other people think of you is none of your business.
    30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.
    31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
    32. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will.
    Stay in touch.
    33. Believe in miracles.
    34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.
    35. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
    36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.
    37. Your children get only one childhood. Make it memorable.
    38. Read the Psalms. They cover every human emotion.
    39. Get outside every day Miracles are waiting everywhere.
    40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.
    41. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
    42. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
    43. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
    44. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
    45. The best is yet to come.
    46. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
    47. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
    48. If you don't ask, you don't get.
    49. Yield.
    50. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.

Liz .. thank you, I remember your advice regarding the heating pad and I'm staying far away from those suckers! lol

Robin .. When the fills are being done by the PS they aren't so bad .. a lot of pressure but little pain, although today I did have pain and probably because it's my third fill. It's later that day and the next day or two that the pain hits but it's manageable with advil or darvocet depending on your needs. Don't worry, you've dealth with pain and you can do it! With me it exacerbates other pain issues I have so I need the Darvocet. Just keep thinking of what you're going through it for and remember, this too shall pass. In the end it will be worth it sister!

Gina ... OMG NEVER feel like your problems are too little to bring here. You started this thread for us all to bring our issues big or small, you listened when we whined... it's your turn to feel the healing strength of this circle of amazing women that you have brought together. It was so good to see you posting ... we were worried.

Robin... love your new outlook. Keep it up girl!!! So glad to see you feeling better and stronger.

Nicki .... glad you're feeling better. Make sure you get plenty of rest.

Vickie.... has the posting gremlin gotten to you too?? Some days I have no problems at all and other days my posts disappear no matter what I do.

Cheri... hope you are home by now. Take care of yourself. Prayers for Amber's results

Everyone else .... hugs for those who need. Good night everyone A to Z
