Miz, so glad you trip is turning into a joy...enjoy yourself...

Good morning ladies. I'm here and been here for hours, lost a post, got lost in posts, but I've taken notes. The notes are more jotted than written so that could be a problem. Gosh there was just so much to catch up on. I like to try and read the past posts but what I need to learn to do more of is to check in then read because so many times I get sidetracked with reading and talking to people, so I'm going to make an effort if I haven't yet posted something for the day then I want to let you all know everything is ok.
I was released at 6 am yesterday but the usual red tape kept us til 3:30. Oh geeze, I guess that was day before yesterday. Time sure flies when they try and kill the pain with pain pills that Buzzz me. lol Oh dear, better week than last one. They're still treating this as a bone infection so they sent me home with my Port line and Vancamyacin twice daily for 6 weeks. Wow they've made alot of medical advancements in the last 8 yrs since I had my PICC. I don't need a pump for this one and the IV bottle is just larger than a drain. Have a dressing change once a week but they're not as picky as before and it's all been made so much easier and less stressful for those of us who are a bit squeamish. I feel fairly well, mostly pain and fatigue...other than those pesky little details...life's a beach! I go back the 6th and see how my blood and xrays look and hopefully i won't have to go back quite so often but with infections they'll want to monitor close. My attitude about things isn't too bad, considering. Physically, I have pain. I've been much worse many times.
Amber is alright. They didn't do the biopsy they did a Colposcop (sp) so they said she didn't need the biopsy cos she did have some troublesome cells but he scraped them out and told her to come back next year. I don't get a whole lot of info to go one but I know he told her she was alright. Good juf for me.
At the risk of sounding as mushy as I did in the last post that I lost, I just want to say how you all were so appreciated when I was worried over my dd and when I was in the hosp. All the calls, cards, and prayers were wonderful and so helpful. I hope I can be as good a friend as you all have been to me.My dh checked the mail yesterday and I'd gotten a card from Liz. Thank you Liz. Others have sent but Amber hasnt been checking mail, suppose they'd take them back to the post office? Nah, not just cards and not without leaving a notice. They'll be here anyday.
Jankay, a special thanks to you for calling every morning. That was very thoughtful of you since I was up there without family. Jazz called several times, Amy & Shirleys calls were both sorta iffy as far as relying soley on my memory. lol My husband would stand at the foot of my bed and wave his arm at me while I was talking on the phone if I wandered too far off into "left field." lol Odalys called one night and I was sleeping, I had calls from Susan, Charlene, Liz, Marsha Marsha, Marsha, Boo, FLOWERS from Gus, Iris, Sheri, Denise, Karen, Madison, Brenda, Gina, Carrie, Margaret, Nicki, Vickie just once but we talked for 2 hours, CherylCY, Janny, Robin, Jazz just missed once, Colleen, Deb, Tricia, Marisa, Betty, Z, Christine, Donna the Casino Kid, BMD, Suz, Tracy, Shel and CherylG. Did I mention to you all that I received FLOWERS from my friend Gus? I bet some of you are nodding your head cause you don't think that many called me...I might've exagerrated a few names in there but I honestly did have alot of them call. Oh let's see... I think there might've been ONE good, loyal, faithful friend....that forgot me. She's not feeling well herself though and she's a little on the...ahem...thoughtless side. (And she does have that little drinking problem) HAHAHAHA
It's taking sooo long for me to post that I'm going to come back and do the rest a little later.

I just went back to the beginning of this thread. Here's my first post. It made me feel good to re-read it. I don't know who wrote it. I wish I could take credit.

It's time to "COWBOY UP"
I think about this term, and what it's all about?
Well it's reaching deep inside when your DH has turned you out.
It's gettin' bucked off every bull that you've seen;
Going hungry, and telling yourself "I'm not starvin', just lean".
"COWBOY UP
It's watching your friends go to the county fair;
And staying behind, cuz the fence is in need of repair.
It's knowing what's wrong, and doing what's right;
Though it means you're going home alone tonite.
"COWBOY UP"
It's what makes a cowboy tell it straight;
It's being in pain, and calling your gate.
It's having nothing, yet having it all;
It's brushing off the dust and knowing how to fall.
"COWBOY UP"
It's a spirit tried and true;
Like a guardian angel, it'll see you through.
So when you're down and things look rough;
Look deep within yourself, and
"COWBOY UP"...0 -
Look out world, she's baaaccckkk! You sound good, Cheri, and I'm so happy that Amber is OK.
I'm off to a second interview for a new job, but I'll check back in later.
Hugs,

This was my post that first day. Boy was I ever pissed off at cancer! I had just finished chemo and still had Rads to do. I was so very, very angry...
What a difference a year makes. I still hate cancer. I still have times I throw a fit and am mad as I was that day, but I am laughing more now. It IS getting better, and this circle has been no small part of my healing
Love Ya all...GROUP HUG
----------------------------------------------------------
"I'm armed and ready to FIGHT! I am so sick of cancer and I will be damned if it is going to win!!
For all my sisters in pain,
for the ones who are fearfull,
for the ones who are waiting,
for the ones who are tired.
I am praying and hoping for better days soon.
Peace be with you.
Adding my wagon to the circle ladies...pass the coffee"0 -
Below is my post on 8/22/06...
"Count me in also. Don't forget the donkeys either. They are such loving animals and once they are your friend they are your friend forever. I also have a 3 month old baby donkey that is full of spunk so count her in also."
Mazer has been around since day 1 also as you can see and she has driven the magic carpet many times and has her own pilots hat to prove it.

"Well Im home from work and me and my horse Distorted Humor are racing to catch up with you all."
When Distorted Humor and Mazer met each other, it was love at first sight.

Good Afternoon Everyone: Well I just got back from my PCP. He thought things were improving. Asked me how I feel percentage wise and I said 60% better. Said that I could go to work on Monday, but I had to stay home the rest of the week and just rest. He wants to see me in 2 weeks, which surprised me along with another CXR. So I asked him how long does it take to recover. He said 6 weeks! He looked at me and said, this is serious stuff Nicki. He thinks I keep getting colds, bronchitis and now pneumonia for three reasons. 1) The chemo 2) The smoking 3) Im getting older!
At first he vetoed the wedding, but said wait until Saturday and if I showed 30% more improvement I could go. So I dont know what Im gonna do. The ceremony and reception will be out on Lake Michigan, so once the boat leaves the dock, its not like they can just drop me off if I get tired or start not to feel well. Im guessing that we probably wont go to it. Save the black dress for something special.
Wild/Jan: The wagon circle is wonderful and on going. Some people move on and leave, others join in, and sometimes older members come back. It really is the only place that I feel people understand what Im feeling or talking about. Im a city girl, but I read your post about the rolling the hay like a little girl with wide open eyes.
Amy: Nothing worst than a tooth ache. Hoping the advil works and you can wait til Monday. Watch out for an abcess.
Shokk: Good to hear from you. Helping your little girl get ready for high school. Might keep you busy, but it sure does sound like fun.
PurpleMB and Denise: Hahahahaha - the avitar looks great.
SoCal: Hope you like the new doctor alot. Having the same doctor is very important to me.
Mzsissy: Just loved the tale about the Birthday Card. Brought a tear to me eye, and in the end - I got the biggest darn smile.
Cheri: Just another really nice post. Im not only smiling, I think my cheeks have a little color to them. The strength and bonding of this circle is so strong.
Susan: Cowboy Up!
Guz: Oh gooood luck on that 2nd interview.
Iris: Think after my nap I will try and find that song on youtube.
Im tired. Im gonna take a nap. You are all angels and each one of you touched my heart today.
Nicki0 -
Love reading everyones first posts!! Decided that maybe if I spent a few minutes with you all, I'd feel more like searching for airline tickets!
Cheri: Mon Cheri........our spunky friend is back! Glad to hear you are doing better and of course are gonna follow the doctors (and circle girls) orders to a tee! So glad Amber is okay........I've had the colposcopy a couple of times..just a precaution when pap cells come back a bit not normal!
Shokk: It's about time missy...........thought I'd have to head to Texas to hunt you down! Enjoy your vacation....even if it is at home. Sometimes those are the best ones!
Nicki: You're on the mend! Should be home from the Doc's and blooddraw by now.......waiting to hear how the Doc says you are doing! I loved your "happy Anniversary" post this morning!
No, I have not taken any medicines for High Cholesterol. Since being on Femara......it went up everytime it was checked. Last Nov. it was around 255. When I had labs done for Medical Weight Loss it was 275. I called my PCP and they said to follow the low fat diet precisely and have it taken in 3 months. If it hadn't lowered, I would be put on medicine. I had it taken the end of July and it had gone down to 191! I'm always leaning to the skeptical side...and plan on having it re-taken in a few months!
CherylG: I used to hate it when my Doc would tell me to walk for exercise.. If they only knew how alot of us struggled to just stand up and walk across the room. I used to call it the 'penguin walk'....especially if I got up at night.....just wobble to the bathroom!
Trisha: So good to hear that you are doing Great! Don't stay away so long.........we miss ya!
Margaret: I've looked at my dresses in closet too. I've got 2 that I would wear if I could get them dyed. They are kinda 'stretchy lace' if that makes any sense and I don't have a clue as to who would dye them. The silver one I wore to my DD's wedding and don't want the same dress in pictures at my DS's wedding, but I like the dress.......if it were a different color. I have a 'off white' or 'ivory' color tea length dress that I wore when I married 6 years ago. Love it to and of course haven't worn it since......same material and I don't know who would dye it. I think I called a few places years ago and got nowhere.
So, if anyone knows about dying a stetchy lacy dress, let me know please!
Charlene: You're gonna be a certified medical transcripionist soon! Is this your first Vaginal UltraSound? Oh, the memories of my first are floating through my mind!!
Indi: Alot of our Hubbies think we spend to much time on the computer! That's cuz we are friends and love to talk to each other. Stick around...I'm sure you are on a whirlwind of roller coaster emotions right now. We guarantee to give you Smiles, laughs, hugs and support!
Peter: Hope you're feeling better! Still winter over yonder?
Carrie: Thanks for posting your 1st post to the Circle! Loved the poem!
Shirley: 3 more days! Bet your own bed will feel real good! Glad your Sister and family are handling things okay. I hope they continue..but beware cuz from now on they will have meltdowns that come from nowhere.
Brenda: Thanks for your post also. Happy Anniversary to all of us!
MB: You are to Funny.........notice my avatar!
Guz: What a nice post this morning! We've all gotten so much from this Circle! Looking for a new job? Did you work before?
Suz: I sure hope the specialist has a couple options for your Son. I don't know much about Cornea Transplants, but I think they are a good thing.
Susan: Nice talk with you!! I'll get the papers organized and send to you.........don't let me forget! Your first post is powerful too! We'll give you credit for it!
Deb: Wow, powerful first post. I'm really enjoying reading these first posts!
Gina: All this because of one lady who refused to 'Surrender'............Thank you!
Okay....I'll look at a couple of airline sites and then be back!
Hugs,
Denise0 -

I have this big grin on my face.
Mizsissy what a nice surprise. It's so good to feel appreciated.
Nicki, I'm glad you are feeling better. Don't try and do too much too soon.

susan0 -
LOL Susan! You are by no means the first person to make a comment like that!
I guess I am just a wee bit off center for most folks Maybe I am like that crazy cousin that every family has but no one talks about? LOLOL
I can only imagne the PM's that floated around...."Who IS this crazy chick from Alaska???"
Let's see...what true confession do I have??? Hmmmmm .I'll have to think about it
Deb C0 -
girls, being a cowgirl is not just having a horse or riding in rodeos, it is a state of mind, cowgirl up... means, when the horse of life bucks you off, get up dust off your butt and get back on, on with life, things in life dont always work the way you think that they should, you have to sell your favorite horse, to fed your kids or your horse developes navicular, and your husband divorces you over vet bills, you live without hot water in your house, so your horse can be in your back yard, you drive an old car so that you can have your horses, and goats and dogs and cats.
Cowgirl is an attitude, really. A pioneer spirit, a special American brand of courage. The cowgirl faces life head on, lives by her own lights, and makes no excuses. Cowgirls take stands. They speak up. They defend the things they hold dear. A cowgirl might be a rancher, or a barrel racer, or a bull rider, or an actress. But she's just as likely to be a checker at the local Winn Dixie, a full-time mother, a banker, an attorney, an astronaut.0 -
Be careful what you wish for Susan! I've got 2 pretty nice pics of you from PinkStock!!!! You can take your pick....One involves a Hammock and the other is a beautiful dance pose!!
Hugs,
Denise0 -
MS Nicki...do not blow off the boat party...and the new dress...be prepared...take something warm to change into if you must...and scope out a place to sit...you need to be social...we love you and you need to treat yourself...
Denise...so glad every one can see you...please note the lizard in her hand, and the what I will call, a crocheted spec of a square proudly pinned to her chest.......lol
Deb...hmm...what else could we have thought...you are wearing a silly hat...lol....could be worse they could call you crazy bob...lol
to all my family...I am so blessed to have such wonderful sisters and brothers.....
And liz, what can I say ,,,just call me at work anytime I'm never busy working...lol...hugs GF...
Ok those of you who missed PINKSTOCK, we are still trying to go to Florida in Oct...
MB0 -
ok, the dance pose. eeeewwwww that would be so bad it would be good. I'll see if i can find it.

Happy Anniversary CGs
Wow, a whole year already!!! I can hardly believe it. I joined the Circle in November and boy was I a little overwhelmed. But, in no time, I was made to feel welcome by this beautiful group of women. When we met at Pinkstock, it was like we had been friends all our lives!
Thank you Gina! Could you have ever envisioned the Circle growing into something so large and loving?
Suz, I am so sorry to hear about your son's eye. I hope there is something that can be done for him.
Deb, I could have written that post. I hurt all over and am tired most of the time. I need to lose a little weight and maybe that would help my joints. I'm still waiting for the good times to start . This is not the ride I signed up for, but it's all I have. We all do what we can and that is all that can be expected of us. This is the "new normal". But, I sure do wish I had the "old normal" back again. Take baby steps. Like someone else said, if you could find a heated pool close by, you could swim a couple days a week.
Denise, my cholesterol is 255 also. It was never over 200 before chemo. Like I said, if I lost some weight, that would probably get better too.
Nicki, I don't know what to say about the party. Part of me would want to go, but I'm not sure I'd take the chance with pneumonia. You could relapse and end up in the hospital. If it wasn't on a boat, I'd go in a heartbeat!
Cheri!!!!!! You're home!!!!! I tried to call you again on Monday, but your phone wouldn't take anymore messages. Thank goodness Amber is fine also! Do you have to keep on going back to Iowa to get checked or can you have that done at your local doc's? We missed you on the boards, girlyfriend! Take care of that leg.
Susan, Cowgirl up!!!!! I LOVE it!
Gotta go for now. I have had no time to post this week. Work has been just awful. We have 2 girls out with medical issues and we have temps in their place. Just shoot me now . I have to go pick up our RV from the repair place, as soon as DH gets home. Just one more thing to add to the list. I hate the list.
Hugs and kisses to all of my Sisters!!!0 -
Shokk, glad to see you checked in. I thought you had resorted to the closet and was refusing to come out.
Susan-got a good laugh about your statement about Deb,,lol.
Nicki-hope you are feeling much better so you can enjoy the wedding. You deserve to go out and have a great time. Take warm clothes and who cares what anybody thinks.
Adrionna-love the new pic. Mb did a great job.
MB-better shine your cup up,,might need it,,lol.
Susan-loved your cowgirl description.
Cheri-so glad to see you posting.
Robin-where are you today?
Bikerjan-missed you this week. Did you get the Rv repairs taken care of. Temps usually fill a chair but thats about it unless they are long term.
Advil has helped the tooth and I just hope it continues. I wasnt even eating anything with the filling came out. Think I can blame it on chemo? Sure,,why not! Chemo sucks and it should take as much blame as we can lay on it.
I had the little pups out last night in the den and they are trying so hard to walk. They take about 3 steps or so and just lay down. I did smell a little puppy breath last night for the 1st time. Their ears have opened but i dont know if they hear us yet.
ok back to work for a bit. Man this day is dragging.
amy0 -
Boy oh boy! Its like having the good innocent angels and then the party girl angels whispering in my ear. I talk ed to my husband and he said the boat is enclosed partly and then has open decks where you can walk. I really want to go, but when I hear the words relapse I get the heebie jeebies.
Denise: Sounds to me like this is a healthy life style. The food, the weight loss. I do believe it helped to lower your choleserol.
Going out to Lone Star for dinner. My doc said I could.
Puppy: Hahahaha, I do remember the spinach lasagna. Thank you my dear friend, it brought back pleasant memories.
See ya all later.
Nicki0 -
Hi gals! Thanks so much for the warm welcome. I didn't realize that many of you have been together for a whole year now, but did immediately feel your "sense of belonging" and compassion for one another. It is so wonderful that you have been there for each other for so long. I hope it doesn't take me months to get to know all of you. My poor ol' brain doesn't function quite as well as it did last year at this time.
Denise, how did you lose your weight? My onc told me that I need to lose the 12 pounds that I gained during chemo but all of a sudden, I find that food finally tastes good and this might be quite a challenge!
Thanks again, ladies, for the warm welcome. I think I'm going to love being part of this group!!!!

Happy One YEAR Everyone!!!
Robin- honey- the thing I am the most happy about is one year ago today you were given two months. Now you are NED and planning recon. NOW THAT IS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT!
I can't help but think of M.E.'s song when I think of us.
If you substitute the word "run" for "WRITE" it pretty much sums up what the circle is all about. We write to and for each each other and hold our sister's hands no matter where we are in this journey.
And someday if they tell you about it
If the darkness knocks on your door
Remember her, remember me
We will be writing as we have before
Writing for answers, writing for more
We write for hope
We write to feel
We write for the truth
For all that is real
We write for your mother, your sister, your wife
We write for you and me my friend
We write for life
Let's keep writing for each other....
Love you all,
g0 -
Flyby from work - I love when everyone else is in a meeting.
MB, I know I'm supposed to walk 10,000 steps a day but I do very sedentary work so that doesn't happen.
Suz, if the dress I ordered doesn't fit, I can take it back to my local Macy's. As far as shoes, Zappos.com is awesome - free shipping and free returns, so no loss. I have another site bookmarked too but haven't tried it.
Doris, I just keep chanting "blue dress, blue dress" while I'm exercising (that's the dress I have to return if it doesn't fit). I keep going - that's what everyone was trying to tell me last night - I'm there, it's outside, and I'm not sitting in front of the TV or the computer (of course, I was when I got home last night). Some exercise is better than none. You are doing just fine, just drop in the circle, say hi, and pretty soon you will find yourself visiting a lot more often and posting as well.....promise.
Puppy, how are you feeling? That spinach lasagne looks awesome.
Wild/Jan, I wish I could meet up with you when you are here next month. I saw Terry win last night but I have to admit, I wanted Cas(spelling) to win.
Amy, deciding factor is whether or not the blue dress will fit....just to be on the safe side, I will have the silver one altered. You're more woman than I am, I couldn't wait that long to have a tooth filled.
Denise, new avatar - looks great. Good news too on the lower cholesterol. I know exactly what you are talking about - here's a link to a garment dying service - maybe you can call them and they can direct you to someone.
Mizsissy, sounds like you are having a much better afternoon today.
Cheri, you are sounding sooooo good, I hope you are feeling as good as you sound.
Nicki, I hope you can make it to the wedding. You've been looking forward to it for so long. I agree with MB, you should go, you should treat yourself, and you will be able to find lots of space to rest if you need to.
Shokk, was your vacation planned?
Rita, what I said to Doris goes for you too - just drop in the circle, say hi, and pretty soon you will find yourself visiting a lot more often and posting as well.....promise.
Iris, that's who they were - that was one of the three songs I knew. I think Nicki knows all their songs.
Gina, Gina, Gina, where would we be without you? I truly do not think that some of our friendships would be as strong as they are had you not started this thread. I, for one, am forever grateful for what you have done.
All of you who pasted your first post - now I'll have to go back and look to see what I wrote, no time now, I'm at work he he he.
Back later.

I know why I like this circle so much, when I am down you all come and bring me up again. I was feeling so rejected and there were so many of you who said such nice things to me. You are all right, I really shouldn't have done this show, but it just sounded like so much fun! They are doing a Christmas version of a play I was in last year. If they want the original cast, then I guess I'll have a good chance to do it. I'm not sure.
Nicki, so glad you are feeling better. Pneumonia is such a nasty disease. I hope you can make the wedding, but don't over do.
Cheri, so glad Amber is ok. Just keep getting those wonderful yearly checks. Glad you are doing well, too.
My friend at school had a court date yesterday. She got a 3 year restraining order against her husband. He is not allowed to contact her children, her or be withing 1000 ft of any of them. If he goes through all these hoops they are setting up, counseling, drug testing, etc, he may get some "supervised" visitation. She was so relieved! It was actually miraculous, she hardly had to say a word at all. The judge was able to see the situation for what it was.
Trying to stay cool. Thankfully my new classroom (new to me) has good air conditioning. We have air conditioning at home, too, so really haven't been outside any more than necessary. Those of you in the "hot" zones--be careful!
Am so glad to have all of you as my friends.0 -
Susan: Here you go........even re-sized it for you! However, I do believe I'll have to email it to you and you have to take it from there!!
You can thank me later!!
Hugs,
Denise
