Angel I think thats a great letter, you sound calm and composed and tell your side of the story well. If she values her business she should at least answer and apologize!
CHERI>Good to see you home again!
LINI>Love your "lessons in Life" I may send that to my marine son!0 -

I cant believe all the posts since I was last on this morning. Took a nap, then I put my nursing cap on for myself. Made myself get up and take a shower. While I did that, DH made the bed and put clean sheets on. Then I thought ok girl - you are deconditioned. So I made myself walk around the house and looked at all the flowers. We have had lots of rain here - even some flooding, and my flowers did ok through it all. Gonna make myself go for a walk in the yard every 2 hours. I am definitely in the recovery mode, just didnt realize it would take this long.
Denise: Good luck with your weigh in. You have done so well on your diet. I have just about regained everything I lost and Im not even looking at my scale.
Betty: Enjoy your lunch with your friends today.
Colleen: Im laughing. You dont know how much you know me so well. From your description, I immediately though of one of my favorite places. The Harbour Marriot in Ft. Lauderdale, with private pool and spa. Yes - that sound delighttful. And how are you feeling. Is your cold any better.
Indi: Nice to meet you and welcome to the wagon circle. You have found a great place to visit.
MargaretB: Yep, Im already thinking I better make an appointment to get my hair styled.
PurpleMB: Thanks for your encouragement. I gotta tell you, I worry about me sometimes. Shokk mentioned my smoking last week - and Ive thought about it alot and Im thinking maybe that along with the chemo is my problem! I just talked to my DH - we both have to quit. Although I must say Ihave not had a cig for a week - but its only cause I cant inhale. Gonna talk to my PCP about my emotions too tomorrow. Changed all my meds around including my antidepressants to save a little money. Maybe I need to realize I am not my own doctor.
Charlene: Oh good letter. Put a tear in my eye.
Cheri: Glad you got home safely.
Guz: Just keep being persistent. There used to be laws and government overseeing insurance fraud issues. We need someone to get involved. Now it seems like the only time its good to have insurance is when you are not sick. All this refusing to pay this and that. Its disgusting. And making us change doctors at their whim! Pitiful. Whatever happened to continuity of care.
Wild/Jan: Wow, spiral fractures are the worst to heal. Looks like alot of nails to me. Wondering why there isnt any new bone growth.0 -
Geez..... away from the computer for a bit and came back to 4 pages!! I'm read and caught up but was so far behind!
Nicki, how are you today? That coughing blood sounds wrong to me, glad to hear you see your pcp soon. Take it easy girl.
Vickie, how's the head today?
Charlene, thanks for checking on me. I can't believe that crazy mad horse woman! You do need to report her to the BBB
Odalys, Thank God for the B9 results for you and baby sis. SOOOOOOOOOOO relieved for you.
Wild Jan, goodness, what a mess with DH leg. Don't forget to post a pic of the new hair color.
WELCOME to all the new gals to the circle. I recognize many names from other threads.
Rita, You're done with active treatment! We must have finished about the same time. You will love it here.
Gina, girlfriend, don't you be silly. The very reason YOU started this wagon circle is the very reason you need to come here when things suck! We love you and welcome the chance to be here for you. As someone who got caught with their panties down (no insurance) it sounds like crappy insurance is about the same as none. Hugs to you.
Sheri how did the audition go and have you heard if you got cast yet?? Did you read for Faye or Willie Mae? Or the snake woman?? That is a good, meaty character role also.
Mon Cheri, well finally you are home. WOOHOO How's the leg?
Hey to Denise, Amy, Guz(zle), SoCal, Betty (don't spend it all at one time), Jazz (WTH, come back!) Madison, Liz (got my SP...so excited), MB, Brenda (x2), Colleen, Margaret (boot camp #2???? oh my), Rogin (you go girl), Z, Pam, Iris, Shirley (are you home yet?), Biker Jan (sounds like a great party...again). I'm missing a bunch I know! Marsha
OOPS almost forgot! The appt yesterday went great. I really like this guy, he had no hesitation in ordering the left breast removal. Didn't even call it prophylatic but marked on the order "matter of life or limb" based on the LCIS found in the right breast after post sugery path came back. So.... surgery is Oct. 1 at 1 pm! I have to figure a way to pay it but since he wrote the order the way he did, the hospital is working with me. He spent an hour with me!! Not use to that. Marsha0 -
Never thought I'd say this about having a breast removed but MARSHA that is great news, you are getting what you wanted!
All my neighbors are elderly, they are helpful but this is something they can't handle either. I'm certain the best thing is figuring out that electric tape fence...0 -
Marsha: Oh my that is good news. Glad you went and got a second opinion. The coughing up blood scared me at first but then I looked up pneumonia and that is one of the symptoms. So Im not totally freaking out
Nicki0 -
Marsha .. yep, have a claim on file with the BBB!
Woo hoo!!!! That's good news about your surgery! We'll fire up the magic carpet and be there holding your hand!0 -
Hi everyone,
wow so much to catch up with!
Odalys - so happy for your good news.
Liz - sorry about your MIL.
Cheri - glad to hear you are back home. Wish you a speedy recovery.
Chemosabi - glad you are beginning to feel better.
I ended up having to see the doc yesterday too - I just couldn't shake off that cold. Fortunately, it wasn't pneumonia , just bad bronchitis. Anyway, I was given a whole load of meds to take and after just one dose of each, I am already feeling better - yippeee.
Marsha - glad you had a successful appt. with new doc. And oh, btw, Cat will be down in my area on Thursday and we are planning on going to lunch - If you could make it down here too that would be wonderful!
Gina and Guz - so very sorry that the insurance companies are treating you this way. I HATE the US medical insurance system. Socialized medicine may have its problems too - but believe me - it is still a better system than we have here in the US right now!
I am very fortunate- being an ex-pat, I was able to get private health insurance from Europe which covers me worldwide. They have been wonderful up to now. No co-pays, no deductibles. They have paid everything 100% - except they won't cover genetic testing. The insurance system here needs a darned good shake up - but since they have such a huge lobby, I doubt much will be done. I find it disgraceful that these companies get rich at the expense of sick people! GRRRR
Vickie, hope the migraine has gone. Big hugs to you.
Angel - I just love all of the different angel pictures !
Wild/Jan - MB is right - ask for help! You'd be surprised how many people will help you if you just ask. I know it is hard to ask for help - but sometimes we just have to swallow our pride!
MB - you are obviously already getting very excited about coming down to FL in Oct. I am looking forward to it too.
I Will see if I can arrange to get more of the FL gals to join in.
Well, I know I have missed lots of you lovely ladies, but I have to get back to work now. So big hugs and chocolate xxxx to all.
Elaine0 -
off to the keys where i hope to have lunch with trisha (pbd777) ......... maybe one of us can post a picture of our meeting ......... very exciting!!!!
i'm sorry to hear how your insurance companies operate ...... i'd lose what's left of my mind if i had to deal with that crap on top of everything else! good luck ladies!
good thoughts to all .......... chiao!0 -
OK first day of work for this school year was yesterday We spent it doing our mandated Emergency Action Plan what a total waste of time! We are planning for huge emergencies like earthquakes, volcano eruptions, huge sudden storms, building collapse you get the idea. They have us all split up on teams like Communications and Triage. It all seems so silly because by trying to plan in detail for any possible emergency, it just gets ridicules who can plan all the details of a tragedy? Anyway I promised to tell the story about how I got assigned to the morgue a few years ago
I had just started in the library the school about a week after school started. I missed all this lovely training that year, so on my first day of work the principal had me fill out some paperwork and told me if there was an emergency that I would be in charge of running the morgue! I laughed, thinking he MUST be kidding and he handed me my Emergency Situation Bucket that I was supposed to grab when we evacuated the building. It was a five-gallon pail with a lid. Inside was a walkie-talkie with dead batteries, a copy of the emergency manual, a pair of rubber gloves, a dust mask and I kid you not .a small container of Vicks Vapor rub! When I asked the principal what the vicks was for he said it was to rub under my nose if the bodies started to SMELL!!! I laughed so hard I almost wet my pants. I told him that he could assign me to morgue if he wanted, but if things got that bad I was SO out of there!! I did learn one thing though .never miss the Emergency Planning Meeting! LOL
Someone else asked about the bears We found out that about 2 hours after they were here they were at a neighbors house and totally tore the back off a chicken coop this is a building that is built with 2X6 pine boards, insulation and SCREWED together. They took the back off it like they were peeling an orange. They killed and ate about a dozen chickens and totally trashed the yard. At 6:30 yesterday morning they were at a neighbors house stalking their horse and digging up a flower bed. They chased them off too.
We have never shot the bears in the yard, but my dad who lives a half a mile away had to kill one 3 years ago in his yard trying to kill his dog. It was a 2-year-old cub that fish and wildlife protection officers had live trapped in his yard 54 hours previously and transported 80 miles away it came back that fast!
Someone wanted to know how I know the cubs were 2 years old .they mama brown bear usually keeps the babies with her for 2 years. This years cubs would be much smaller than these animal were, so I am guessing they are 2 year olds. Occasionally, the mama bear will keep cubs with her for 3 years, so these guys may be 3 years old, but that is really rare. By the time these bears are 2 years old they weigh about 350 to 500 pounds. This mama is about 8.5 feet tall and about 800+ pounds .BIG bears.
Gina- Please consider posting an address and some type of case number so we can write to your insurance company. Maybe sheer volume of mail or e-mail might accomplish something. I am sending you the gentlest of hugs and a big old baseball bat to swing at some insurance executives head!
Wild/Jan I hope today is better than yesterday .hugs for you and DH
Nicki Glad to hear you are feeling better. Make sure to get LOTS of rest.
Sheri hope your oozy bump is getting better. Glad school is off to a good start.
Charlene Have a bowl of potato soup for me! I love it. Hope you dont have too much pain from your fills
Odayls YIPEEEEEEE! Whew, now get some rest, I bet you need it after all that worrying.
Lini I love that list. Someone sent it to me a few months ago and I have it printed on the wall. Always a good reminder to enjoy my life.
Vicki hope your head is better today
OK Im missing tons of girls, but I have to go to work yuck not ready for the school year to start. Work cuts into my board time! LOL
Welcome to the new gals
Bugs and Fishes everyone
Deb C0 -
Odalys so glad you got a B9 also. Did the two of you go out and celebrate last night.
Well Nicki, if you are still tired, then it's good you are staying home. I've never had pneumonia (and not even sure I can spell it) but from what the other sisters have said it can take a while to recover. Take advantage of the time off and enjoy your flowers.
Margaret, we have been cooking tritip for our friends we are meeting here in Missouri. They are so impressed.
NS here is a Tuesday hug for you. Any time you want to call and complain, I'm here to listen. cleft pallate/ruptured tissue expander, yes I could see that in a Fellini movie. You would be the beautiful heroine with no hair, walking across the bare windswept cliff where the cleft pallet doctor has his office/lab in a Victorian building painted bright orange.
Wild Jan, I'm sorry your husband is in so much pain with his leg.
Welcome LKE
SheriH good luck with the bump on your leg. I hope it's nothing serious. Did you find our about the audition yet?
Charlene, tritip is delicious. I'll bet you could find the recipie on Cooks.com. You always find the nicest pictures. thank you.
Broken washers and dryers. I like your husband's solution Desise, Cheap and easy. Tell him you want a new front load washer with matching dryer. They come in all colors now. Or better yet, just go buy one and wait by the mailbox to grab the Visa bill before he sees it. You're good at that. If he's like most husbands he doesn't get closer enough to the washer/dryer to know that it's been replaced. "oh that washer, we've had it for years". LOL
Brenda I got a fake ecard in the mail the other day. it used an IP address instead of a real email address so I think that's how you can tell it's fake.
Robin you are amazingly strong. You will be able to take care of yourself and Evil will shrivel up. LOL in more ways than one!
Lini I love the lessons in life. I am working on number 23 and 33 and 34 and 22 and 10 and 2 and 32......and so on. great list. Thanks
Newvickie I hope you are feeling better today and having a wonderful headache free day!
CY you are just amazing. I don't know how you do everything you do.
Marsha glad everything went good with the new doctor. Is the surgery gonna happen soon. Are you getting reconstruction after?
ok, why is Casino Girl getting certified???
MB, miss you. I really like your new avitar.
Cheri so glad you are home. I'll call later.0 -
Hi Sisters and Peter: I'm on my way to the airport to go to Tahoe for the rest of the week. No results yet from my biopsy last week, waiting and trying not to worry. I am going to try and have a really good time, just in case there's some tough road ahead, but dr. thinks all is fine and huncky dory - so I'm trying to go with that.
Jankay: I will call you when I get there.
Thank you Coleen - luv ya lots sis.
Peter: Hope all is well with you.
Cheri: Hugs to Amber. Hugs to you. what a trooper you are -you really acheived Superwoman status in my book.
To all those I've not addressed personally, you should all know that you are in my heart, in my thoughts and I really wish peace for you all. O.k. gotta go now. Oh, yea, I may go rafting, we wil see, I'm afraid of moving water, so this will be a test for me.
Luv ya all.0 -
DebC: I cant tell you how fun it is to read some of your posts. The Bears story kept me in suspence and the story about you being assigned to the morgue just made me laugh out loud.
Z: I hope you have a good time in Tahoe.
Susan: Your litte note to NS just made me laugh out loud a second time for the day. All I can say is very good. From what I am researching on the internet it takes 1-2 weeks (sometimes longer - up to 6 months) to recover from pneumonia, but from the way Im feeling today, I know I will be in the 1-2 weeks category.
Elaine: Acute Bronchitis is like the mother of colds to me. Seems like you get every symptom in the book and then it settles in your chest and getting over it is so hard. Im glad you saw your doc and that the medications are working.
Shel: Have fun in the Keys
Nicki0 -
((Cheri)) WELCOME HOME! You already sound much better. So glad things are looking up. Looking for good news from Amber as well.
(((Marsha))) So glad you went to the new doc. That is how it should be. Your comfort is so important in your healing process. Do you have a date yet?
Vickie, I hope your headache is gone. Sleep, sleep and more sleep is all that helps mine.
INSURANCE COMPANIES SUCK. I think it is partially a control issue. I hate it when they tell me what medicines I can have, how many mg I can have and when I can have them. Silly me, I thought my doctor went to med school to learn all that! I am so sorry that we all have to deal with, and especially sorry that so many of you are having such difficulties.
Angel Charlene, your letter was done very well. I don't think I could have been so self-controlled.
Anyone heard from Puppy???
Sorry to skip so many.
Welcome again to all of you new friends. Post as much as you want or need. We are here for each other.
Peter.... are you going to peek your head out today? Hope you are resting well and feeling better.
Dear Nicki... You are sounding better already. Hope your body recovers quickly to better health. keeping you close in thoughts and prayers.
From A to Z... take care...Pam0 -

Dancing in happiness for you

Gotta keep looking in the mirror to get used to the new hair color of a medium to dark brown, no more salt and pepper. So odd after 6 months to get back to the color I was used to seeing on top of my head. One very good thing is all the gray did get covered. The last two times I colored my hair some of the grays were so stubborn they wouldn't take the color at all. It was uplifting to do this, I don't look so OLD!
Went from feeling like this...
To feeling like this! LOL
0 -
/WOW...I guess I need to go dark brown...lol...Jan glad your feeling good...smile and have a bowl of ice cream with sprikles too...
hugs MB0 -
WOW JAN!
That's quite a difference!
Puppy! I left you a present in the moving beyond pic thread we like so much! hehehe
Love Marisa0 -
I changed my avitar to the newest color hair photo!
This was taken during our motorcycle trip in late June early July.
Photo taken today

Gina,
Please send me a PM with the name of your insurance carrier and what care they are denying you.
Sounds like you've written to some important sources that might be able to help. Have you written or called the NY State Insurance Commissioner?
I work in Regulatory Affairs for UnitedHealthcare. I worked for PacifiCare for 13 years before we were acquired by United last year, and I know how hard it can be to get authorizations, claims paid, etc. In fact, United has denied a claim for an MRI I had in April, so I'll be fighting my own employer trying to get resolution. How screwed up is that?
I'm not so familiar with NY insurance law, but have lots of research databases available to me.
To any of you who are fighting insurance battles - if you haven't already, take it up with your state Insurance Commissioner, and DON'T GIVE IN. I know it sucks to have to keep at it, but you stand a better chance of getting resolution if you are a persistent pain in the a$$.0 -
It took me forever to get caught up here today. I am starving but just had to read it all.
Gina--I repeat what Betty and Pam said "Insurance Companies Suck". Sorry you are having troubles with them.
Odalys--Yeah!
Lini--Aren't porn sites for people who actually want to have sex?LOL. I loved #26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: "In five years, will this matter?" I have been trying to live by that rule since bc.
Wild/Jan--I hope you get some help around there. I am really looking forward to your visit with the bc.org San Diego girls next month.
Liz--Feeding tubes are just awful. I can see why your MIL would not want one.
Vicki--Sorry about your head. I hope it is much better by now. I still have getting all those song titles together on my list of things to do.
Cy--I think I have had a root canal on every molar in my mouth. Hope yours went O.K.
RitaJean--Welcome, Welcome, Welcome.
Robin--I heard the AVG Margaret mentioned is good and it's free.
Cheri--So glad you are out of the hospital. Rest so you can stay out.
Angel--Good letter. Hope you get a response.
Marsha--Good doctors make all the difference in this journey. I am glad you found one.
I have to go now or I will faint from hunger.0 -
Hello ladies! I just got off the phone with Jankay, she is having computer probs and she asked me to post this for her. She received an email from Skybaby who has found another lump in her remaining breast. They thought it looked suspicous and have done a biopsy. Should have the results later in the week. Sending up prayers for you skybaby!
Hugs and prayers to all
Dawn0 -
I just spoke to Jankay on the phone and she just made me laugh so much! She has a new PC on order and hopes to get it Thursday. She walked 200ft in PT today and was very happy but exhausted! She was lying on the floor
while talking to me on the phone about ready to crash!
Zazette called Jankay from the plane and she got her results .. B9!!!
Z .. I was just getting ready to post and tell you to have a great trip to Tahoe when JK called me and asked me to post about your results. Woo Hoo!!!!! So happy for you!
Wild/Jan .. that is Some transformation! Hey I have medium to dark brown hair but I still feel like your first picture! Ah, but I am overdue for a color to hide those pesky greys! Gotta get that done! lol Love the new avatar!0 -
RITA JEAN welcome to the group!
LOL yeah Angel I realized that...one reason I did the cartoons separate from the real photos. Funny thing, I never cried when I lost my hair or had the long hair cut very short before I lost it. But this coloring the hair has really made me feel something this time unlike the other stuff that I was able to take it with no feelings. Odd but its a feel good feeling!0 -
Wild/Jan .. btw, I was talking about your cartoon pics, not your real pics! Although I must say again, wow, what a difference! You look so much younger!!! Congratulations!
0 -
Gina .. Ready along with everyone else to help fight the insurance crap and send a letter on your behalf. Just say the word!
Cheri .. I hope this finds you resting and getting the sleep you surely need.
Elaine .. I often get bronchitis. They call it chronic. Not fun. Glad you got meds for it and are starting to feel better!
Shel .. the keys. Okay, I'm jealous.
Deb .. LMAO at your stories! OMG, how can you live where the bears do? They would scare me to death! My uncle shot one during hunting season one year long ago. They now have a bear rug and a head mount to show for it! I'm going to go have a bowl of potato soup for you! Perfect for this rainy weather we're having here!
Amy .. I wish I could send some of the cooler temps we're having here your way and to everyone else with such high temps. It hasn't climbed out of the 60's here for the past two days. Not normal for August! Strange weather.
Susan .. LOL at your advice to Denise! Did you get to call your doctor yet about switching A-D's?
Pam .. I figured I'd start out composed with the mad woman hoping to get a response. Then I'll let her have it!
BMD .. I hope you got some food in you in time! LOL
Wild/Jan .. whew! LOL That's very cool that you feel that! We need all the good feelings we can get!
(((((( Guz )))))) Repeating what is too well known a fact .. Insurance companies SUCK!!!
Well I got the call from my urologist and the results of my Hydronephrosis tests are Negative! Woohoo! The findings suggest a flabby left renal pelvis (huh? so that's where all my fat is!), an extrarenal pelvis (meaning my pelvis is outside the kidney instead of inside .. no biggie, it's just the way I am he said) and no ureter junction obstruction!!! Apparently the flabby pelvis just makes it appear on my abdominal CT scan that I might have an obstruction. Thank goodness! I didn't want any other surgery to have to deal with right now!
My baby is up from her nap so I'm off to spend time with her. Have a good evening everyone!
Love&Hugs,
Charlene0 -
This is really sad. I got the results of the audition and I did not get a part. I honestly thought I did a good read. I am very sad and trying not to cry. This really was not a good time to do a play, but my ego is seriously hurt. I feel like I've been just kidding myself in thinking I could act. There has only been one director who ever gives me parts and she is not directing this show. She's the only one who has ever had any faith in me.
I guess I'll just go off and lick my wounds, but not the oozing one, ha-ha! Actually, it is better today, just a little sore.
Will have alittle pity party now.0 -
Oh Sheri, CRAP! I know how disappointed you are. Lord knows as an actor I have been there before. Really sucks that this is one hobby where someone else has control over you getting to do it! What else are you guys doing this season? I was going to go out for Woman in Black next week but got my surgery booked and it falls on what would be tech week. Just remeber sometimes you don't get a role cause you didn't physically fit in with the other characters. Especially this time since it is 3 sisters. Try not to take it personally!! Love ya, Marsha
0 -
Wow Wild Jan what a difference. Your new pic looks great! Just a thought but what about square bales or is that not an option for you?
Sheri-sorry you didnt get the part but you said yourself you didnt know if you had time right now. I'm sure it will all work out. Have your heard from your Equador son?
Charlene-please try to send some 60's my way. I would gladly take them and even share with Brenda since she is tired of the heat also.
Z-congrats on the B-9
Odalys-Congrats to you also.
Good news is floating about for you girls.
Deb-loved the stories. Hope returning to work wasnt too bad today.
Dawn-thanks for the Jankay update.
Cheri-where the heck are you? You said you were coming back,,its not nice to tease.
About time to hit the door running and drink a few beers and relax. Hope everyone has a wonderful night and dont let the bed bugs bite.
