sige, funny pumpkin pictures. Love it. Knew we could count on you.

Tracy, yes I am more sensitive (stomach) since chemo. Also since chemo and with taking AIs, I am dealing with a lot more health problems in general. I have a lot of meds to take and they seem to upset my stomach. Or maybe I'm just getting old and cranky. I'm doing the loose bowel thing also. gross

Good Morning everyone: Well I survived the time change. We moved our clocks back last night - but its funny how our bodies react. Im still up at the same time even though yesterday morning it would be 4:30 am. But I am much more wide awake today.

Its supposed to be a beautiful day here in the Chicago end of the wagon circle. Sunny and in the 50's - wow! What happened to summer? And we have the Bears game at home.

Im walking the perimeter of the circle and seems like things are peaceful. Im not even sitting in my wigwam. But I am sitting close to the fire - its not that warm lol.

Peggy: We must have mental telepathy. When I signed on I was thinking about you and how you are doing. Was so glad to see your posts and the pics of the pumpkins were great!! Hope things are continuing to go well and that you are taking time just to enjoy life a bit.

Tracey: I loved your pumpkin pics. If I give a halloween party next year, I may just steal them. What great laughs we could have at a party.

Ya know, talking about how we feel after chemo. I love hot and spicey. Foods dont seem to bother me. While I was getting chemo I couldnt eat poultry. In fact I remember the first time I realized this was last ThanksGiving. When they put the turkey in front of me, I totally lost my appetite. Still cant eat turkey or chicken - it makes me lose my appetite. I crave sweet things all the time which is hard cause Im on the South Beach diet. And if there is chocolate in the house well, you can just forget it. The diet I mean, cause I gobble it down so fast, I dont even get to savor the flavor! I really blew it last night. Chocolate ice cream, reeses peanut butter cups, and 2 mind you chocolate cup cakes! If I were a child I would have been wired after all that sugar! I mean how can anyone not eat sweet things around halloween? Thats my excuse and I sticking to it.

I just realized this morning I never called to get the results of my tumor markers. Had them done almost a week ago. Usually I send an email to my onc and he gives me the results. Guess Ive been enjoying life alot. Before I would be waiting everyday until I got the results.

My agenda for today is small. I have pumpkin seeds I need to cook. Just love them. Cook in some butter and popcorn salt and add a bit of tobasco sauce. Thats what I will be munching on today while I watch football. And I have lots to share with everyone here.

Liz: Im sorry your tooth still hurts. I finially got a call from my dentist. When I saw it was her, I was so angry I didnt answer the telephone. She left me a very nice, long message and scheduled me for an appointment on November 9th. But its not for a root canal thank goodness. Have to have my crown glued back on and then she scheduled me for a cleaning. Yuck - I hate it, cause the dental hygienists is always giving me lectures. This time, if any lectures come my way, Im gonna tell her to just shut up.

Robin: How are you doing this morning? How many more taxol? I just remember how fatigued I was when I was getting the taxotere. I thought it was much harder than A/C. Hope the dope stayed in the basement last night. Right where he belongs! I had a dream last night. All the wagon girls got together and built a brick wall. And of course he is behind the wall. I watched that one time in an Alfred Hitcock movie. Anyways, that would leave him with his computer - no doors - so he cant get out!! Guess he will have to get food from his cyberspace friends. Ha - we took care of him.

I just love Halloween. I used to give great parties. Havent given one the last 2 years - but wait until next year. I will be back. Love costumes and scary stories.

Anyways, here is wishing everyone a wonderful Sunday. NS, vickie, Cheryl, DebC, debbyfive, Mena, Sheri, TinaIrene, Amy, Christine, Kayfine, Cathleen, Catherine, Shirley, Kristin, Tgirl, and oh lordy everyone else. Will talk to you all very soon.

And where is Mazer the Tazer?

I'm up earlier than usual again today. Even though it's the weekend, I've been going to bed early. These dark evenings do it to me.

Love the pumpkin pictures. There are some pretty creative people out there. Good to see you again, Peggy.

Saw that Mena is feeling better, I'm glad. I hope she posts here soon.

NS, did you ever check with the dr? Let us know how you are.

Not doing much, but remembering all of you, hoping you are doing well.

I love your dream,i think that is what we should do.He loves his cyberspace friends so much they can take care of him.

I am doing better than I expected with the taxol/avastin.I have a dose tuesday then I am off for a week.I dont know how much longer I have to go,but I got a feeling it will be for awhile.I cant wait to finish.
This would have been the month when I could get recon done so that is depressing. But this way it will give me more time to heal.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.I plan on doing some minor cleaning and reorganizing today as Karen works today and Noelle dosent let me do to much when it is just me and her.I wish I had her energy or just half of it.

The wind is whipping in my little part of the circle! My fence blew over onto my neighbor's car...he wasn't too happy! But not for nothing- he DOES have a garage....

The kids were out celebrating last night by running up the beach and down our streets screaming like a scary movie... with the winds howling it created quite the effect.

The water has still not been fixed, although it smells like clorox when you turn it on. I am not any worse so I think it is working its way out of my system. I have a PCP appointment on the 8th so I will have her check me out then.
There is a big scandal here about us not being notified... I must say never have a mayor who has a son that runs the water dept. Things would run a lot smoother!

I see everyone is snuggled up. We have to make sure we have plenty of firewood early now because it will start getting dark at 4 pm. I hate this. I wish we had double daylight savings time instead!

So- how are all of your costumes coming?? I think I am going to be dressed as a test tube in honor of the water supply here!

Love to all the circle girls... I will be back later!

Awww Tracey...what a sweet picture. But snow...not so sweet. I am so not ready for snow.
Got a call from my wonderful daugher in Florida...I am planning on going down again in mid February and staying with her and my son in law for a week and she said that they are planning a trip here in May with her, her husband and his family! I am soooo excited. Something to look forward to. They will all stay with me and Nate and they are such a fun loving bunch to be around. I can't wait...please pray it happens.
Went outside to survey the wind damage (it's been terribly windy today and at one point Nathaniel thought we should go outside and make sure our house was still actually on the ground!) I have tree limbs down everywhere and a huge one was on the rental car!!!! Across the windshield and the hood...I nearly had a heart attack on the spot. All is well...no damage to the car...can you imagine...three cars!!! The insurance company would probably come take me away.
NS...please don't wait if you aren't feeling better...at least call the doctors and see what they think.
Back to baking...cranberry bread and the cake and I'm done for the day.
I also have been working on chemo caps and scarves. If anyone is in need of caps please pm me your address. I use the funky fun yarns and the ribbon yarns so they are very pretty. I take them to the oncology unit once a month and they hand them out and tell me everyone loves them. Just tell me your favorite color and I'll whip one up for you or for someone you know. I have taught my nieces to make them and they make the tiny ones for the premature babies but would make bigger ones for all you wonderful ladies here that take such good care of me with your thoughts and prayers.
Getting ready for Halloween. I have never dressed up for it until this year...I am actually excited...can't wait to go to work in my costume. I'll post pics tomorrow for all to see. Post your pics too so we can give NS a great parade. (they wanted to wrap me in bubble wrap at work and put a football helmet on me to keep me safe...funny bunch they think they are!)
Love, hugs and sweet dreams ladies...hope you all set your clocks back!

Susan...I use the Nifty Knitter that you can buy at either Michaels or A.C. Moore. I can crochet anything but I can't knit and the caps are so much prettier and more professional looking with the nifty knitter and it's really fast...I can make a cap a night. It's really easy.

Well no halter tops here today, but I must admit the house was toasty warm! to the point I was sweating. I think my hubby thought it was suppose to be a sweat lodge! He sits out the back door to smoke and was cold so built a really nice fire in the front room! go figure he wasn't even in the room!

My Mom & sister have made it to Salt Lake City and may get here tomorrow night. Told them to go through Portland rather than coming over the pass as we had a snow storm there today. We even had hail here in town.

Somebody left the M&M's in front of the computer and I finished off the bag! No wonder I'm not hungry!

Ok who needs chocolate? I have M&M's, 3 musketeers, Snickers, Almond Joy's, Heath Bars, Recees Peanutbutter cups, Kit Kats, Hershy's, Nestly Crunch, Twixt, Butterfingers, Baby Ruths & Tootsie Rolls!

Slept in til noon today, man o live was that nice!
Best part is I can do it again tomorrow if I want to!
I'm taking this whole week off! Yippe no Dr. appointments to go to either!

Hope everyone had a nice day

Cheryl, glad you are taking off! and a week off from the doc is a blessing too!

I wanted to add to my post above a THANKS to Peggy for those pics! LOLOL!

And Kathy, I am so sorry about your infection! I had that once after rads and it is miserable. You do what you have to do to take care of YOU that is all that matters.

Thank you to kathy and Vickie for the info on ecoli. I will be careful I promise. IF I am not better I will call the doc sooner than my appointment next week. And Nicki I appreciate the info. Thank you.

The whole town is in an uproar. I know of one woman who had to go to the hospital. I thank you circle sisters for your concern and advice... what would I do without you!

ok- to the fountain and then the perimeter!

Cheryl if you are like me you need to take a week off from M&Ms LOL

Laura I don't wear halter tops even in the summer. That was the first thing that popped into my mind. But if you got it and it's warm enough, flaunt it!!!

Ok, newvickie, it's the nifty knitter for me. I tried the "Bedazzler and never could get the darn thing to work. I have a garage full of incomplete craft projects but I will try one more time. The nifty knitter could be the answer!!!

Night all. gonna go to sleep riding my horse.

When I was alot younger, I would get a wooden spool from thread, (am I telling my age or what)
put 4 nails in it and would create a yarn roll, could roll it up and make a pot holder
that's the same idea with the knifty knitter.
I haven't been able to catch up on all thats going on here but a warm fire and lots of chocolate is great
peace and warm wishes to all

Good morning evryione. Is it Monday already? Geez, these week-ends just go too fast. I got to see the sunrise this morning and it was just georgous. Everything was an orangish pink! Clear skies and 60's here today.

Debbiefive: You are such a sweetheart. Thanks for the kind words. You all mean very much to me.

I went shopping for a bit yesterday and everything is Christmas, Christmas, Christmas! Wow, Im not ready for that. Especially cause Im making my presents and I havent even finished the first one. Plastic canvas is alot slower than crocheting scarves!!

Tracey: what great pictures. Snow is actually very pretty. You captured it in your photo. I dont really mind the snow, if I can stay home - but I hate driving in it. You pupppy looks just like my dog Mister. For a minute I thought you took him from me for a photo session. My mister is a monster! Bad generation puppy lol - but I love him to bits.

NS: Im glad your feeling better. There should be a scandal about you not being notified about the water. So have they at least given you instructions? I think I would be boiling all my water before I use it. As far as patronage jobs! Well Chicago is the expert at that. Hmmm, I should say Illinois is. Our governor is being investigated for hiring all of his friends. Politics make me crazy. I also hate this time of the year. For us it will start getting dark at 5pm! Could it really be that last July 4th it wasnt dark until 9pm? I remember having to wait for it to get dark to see the fire works.

Vickie: Sounds like pretty strong winds. I bet your heart stopped for a bit when you saw a branch on the rental car. I really hope that insurance company gets a little wiser and just totals your original car. My goodness, you could have a new one by now. Cant wait to see your Halloween costume. We are supposed to wear costumes tomorrow to work also - but since Im out and about going to different hospitals, a good costume - would be hard. So Im gonna be a kitty kat. Got the ears. Will make a cute little face and have a tale! Before my bc, I used to dress up as a gypsy - would go to the pub where my husband was playing at and tell fortunes from reading cards. $5.00 donation - would then give it to our local Save A Pet. It was fun. None of that this year though.

Susan: I love the test tube pic. Really made me laugh. Especially the one of the mean lady who hit vickies car! So when is your doctor appointment for the rib pain?

Robin: Im glad you liked the dream. It made me smile a bit myself. I actually pictured you putting the last brick in place - ahhh such satisfaction. Im glad your tolerating the Taxol, just goes to show you how right I am about you being a good role model for the rest of us. Here we are counting down our treatments, and your going week to week not knowing when they will stop. Energy? Is that a word that fits into our life styles now? Oh I dont know - my energy level is pretty low all the time. Cant even get myself to do a little exercise. Can find every excuse in the book.

Laura: A halter top? Oh my, we could never hate you cause you a just too nice, but I am oh so jealous. Even if it was warm here I couldnt wear one cause of my big fat jelly belly!

Cookie: How was camping this past week-end. I cant wait to hear about your adventure and what you cooked outdoors.

Carrie: So glad to see you pop in. I hope all is going well. Gotta stay strong as there is much to do before Denise has the surgery. We are with ya gal.

Cheryl: One week off, thats great. I hope you enjoy every minute of it. Im not even gonna weigh myself for one week after this week-end. I have eaten so much junk food its ridiculous. All my Halloween candy is gone! Yeppers, I ate it all. Will have to go get more today.

Vera: yep, miss a day and you can be lost with all thats going on here in the circle. Glad to hear from ya. So what are you gonna do for your anniversary? Sounds fun celebrating halloween and an anniversary.

Well, I cant believe this. My horse, Distored Humor, came up to me yesterday and actually had the audacity to ask for one week off! Seems he has sired many horses and he wants to be at the Breeders cup next week. I told him forget about it. He can watch the races from the TV. We need him here!! and thats that. Gave him an apple and I think it satisfied him.

Oh well, no more play time, gotta go get ready for work. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

    Good Morning CG's
Trying to catch up with everything after a weekend of speedskating! Will try to upload a pic of my son doing his thing. He had a good weekend, but it did snow and coming home was very icy. Thankfully almost everyone seemed to be driving in a safe manner, though a few did go off road, it just took 6.5 instead of 5.5 hrs to get home.
Lots going on here this weekend.
I am envious of the weather to wear halter tops, but the sun is out now and the snow is sparkling.
DebC, sorry I missed those steaks and mushrooms. My favourite! And don't pick!!!
Glad to hear Mena is starting to feel better.
Robin, you are always in my prayers too, so much to go through and be there for your little one. You're a strong woman. Keep up the faith.
Vera, I remember wooden spools and nails and begging my mom for scrap wool too, you're not so old! We were always excited to do that.
Peggy, LOVED those pics. You have a wicked sense of humour.
I am missing lots of people, didn't take notes. For all those feeling down or ill, gentle hugs and prayers.

Hey it's working, this is my son Matt,14, during a race.
