hi ladies,
wow nosurrender your town has no treated water? i live in a small place like 19 houses and our water isnt treated either, now our government has finally said enough and gave our little area a grant to get water, we have had a time also one christmas where our holding tank froze and all the houses were out of water........ dont they have to post signs as well in your town? i havent drank our water in yrs, cause being untreated i know there is some kind of poop in it or a dead animal....finally this yr the government gave us 3 million dollars to upgrade our 19 house water issue lol but in reality its going to cost 4.5 million....
so i can sure relate to the water thing.....

Liz I can relate to your story about the dentist (endontist). It seems like you have to make an appointment to talk with them about an appointment for prep work so you can get an appointment to get the actual work done. I'm sorry you are in pain. That's the hard part. It will get better. Keep taking those drugs.
Jeannette hope your root canal goes well.
Jeannie thanks for the tip about fish oil. I will add that to the oatmeal (cooked for 5 minutes not instant!!) that I am eating every morning for breakfast. So nice that you have a doctor that is interested in natural remedies. My doctor always wants to prescribe more meds and then meds to counteract the SE's of the first meds...etc.
DebC glad your friend Linda got a good result back from the PET scan. woohoo!!
Kathy, glad your checkup went well. It's always a stressful time. Yes, this sucks. I just made an appointment today to go see my oncologist because of my ribs. Just when I think I got my fear under control there is something else to worry about.
Shirely, I hope you are recovering well from your surgery.
NS, e coli???? No wonder you have been so sick. I think you should go to the doctor, but I don't really know anything about it.
Mena, Debbyfive and RobinTN praying for you girls all the time.
for everyone else. hi, hope you are doing well. my ribs hurt but I'm riding and protecting the circle.
for you nicki

Ah good morning everyone. At least today I have some time for myself without any hassles. I love Saturday mornings. So Im sitting in the wigwam that is by our lovely campfire. Just put a bunch of logs on, so the fire is pretty big. Its pretty cold outside, but the wigwam is nice and warm - and there is lots of room for us to sit and talk. Yep, its another cold, rainy day here in the Chicago end of the circle. Geez! Am I repeating myself or what? It has been cold and rainy here all week.
The falling leaves are everywhere! And yet I look up at the trees and still see so many more leaves that will be falling. Im hoping our children have a nice day for trick or treating. I remember some Halloweens that were warm and in the 80's and I remember others that were cold and rainy. Had to wear coats and no one could see my costume.
Got a great breakfast going here this morning. Eggs any style. Even egg white omelets! Have Italian sausage that has been marinating all night and just put them on the fire. Cooking them slowly and the aroma in the crisp air is wonderful. Im sure many of you will be waking up and will migrate over to the campfire. Just follow the aroma.
Laura: Sad isnt it? That people could take something so simple as an OTC decongestant and turn it into illegal drugs. I hear this meth stuff is pretty bad. Even Sudafed is locked now.
Vera: Great pictures. As you can see, I chose the Wigwam. Sounds warmer and bigger. So what plans do you have for your anniversary?
Kathy: Im so glad your check up went fine. Sorry you still have to be on the Lovenox and oxygen.
Brenda: I hope you have fun at the Women of Faith conference. It sounds like it would be very enlightening.
Shirley: You are too funny. All of my docs are hot!!
Robin: Oh steak and mushrooms are my absolute favorite. I also like to stuff a tomatoe and cook it with the steak. Yummy. Hope your feeling well today.
Amy: It was so good to hear from you. Being busy with everyday life things is good. There are so many of us, sometimes I dont even know who I am missing until I see a post.
Jeannie: Im laughing again. The aroma of Hot Chocolate at the docs office yesterday? Of course it was the circle girls. Glad you thought of us and smiled.
Sheri: Thanks for sharing your great experience with your doctor. Ever since being diagnosed with bc - it has been a waiting game. That includes waiting rooms in the doctors office. To be taken and seen right away is wonderful. Have you heard the results of your mammogram yet?
DebC: Oh the steaks were so good. I gotta tell you, Im a picker too. But stop picking, you dont want an infection and you dont want me to come over there and put mittens on your hands to stop you. Im so glad the rads are over for you.
Liz: Im so glad the root canal is over. Hopefully you are feeling better today. I always have a bottle of Darvocet in the house just in case I need it. If you havent found any good pain stuff, try Alieve. Works really well for tooth pain.
NS: OMG. Water contaminated with Ecoli? No wonder you have been feeling sick. I always drink bottled water, but I never thought about not being able to brush my teeth with tap water. Think maybe its time you called the doctor? You might need an antibiotic to fight this. I hope you are feeling better.
SoCalLLisa: EColi is the same bacteria that was in the spinach that got pulled off the market a couple of weeks back. If you get infected with it, you can get pretty sick. Stomach flu symptoms. Some nausea and usually lots of diarrhea.
Shel: I hope you have lots of fun in Mexico. Get strong physically and mentally.
Snowmen in Thongs: Men are so stubborn. And they are babies too. I hope your husband did go to the ER last night. If not, encourage a heating pad.
Susan: I knew I could count on you. The pictures of the pumpkins are great. Now what is this about rib pain? Ah geez, the worry begins again. I hope the visit with your onc goes well and the rib pain is nothing of significance. When is your appointment? I will have to saddle up Distored Humor and ride with the wind hitting my face to be there with you.
Christine: Ahhhh! Congratulations. Cardinals are the new world champions. Had to be alot of fun in your town last night.
NS: I cant post a picture of my pumpkin. First of all I dont have a camera and I dont know how to post pictures. I am so computer illiterate. But he sure is cute. Has the look of and his ears look like bats. I love pumpkins lit up with candles. Wish I could do this all year round.
Well, time to go. Relax and watch TV a bit. The movie I watched yesterday was Flight 93. I thought it was pretty boring. Most of it was about how the air traffic control operators were reacting to the hihackings. And there was so much technical information. Glad I didnt go see it in the show.
OK - now I do have to go and since I have drank all the coffee, I have made fresh pots. Got coffee, tea, fruit juice and hot chocolate.
Have a wonderful morning. Ill be back later.

NS, ecoli is nasty. I had a kidney infection a couple of years ago and that was what they found. Get checked out.
Nicki, sorry your movie wasn't as good as you hoped. I was bummed about my netflix yesterday, too. I am watching ER, third season. They had sent discs 3 and 4, but I got only 4. Oh, well, I was going to watch it anyway, but it had a slight crack and wouldn't work on my downstairs dvd player. I tried it on the one in my bedroom, which worked, but my dh had to open the restaurant this morning, so he had to get up at 3:30 am, so I didn't get to watch anything! I just decided to go to bed early. Disc 3 should come today, I hope.
I used to LOVE baseball when we lived in CA, but with eastern standard time, the games are too late! Congrats on the cards, though, they have a few former Angel players, so I like them.
Getting my computer time in early today. My teenage son pretty much hogs it, but he's at a friends house right now. Hope you all have a great day!0 -
Good Morning Circle ladies many hugs for for you all
Wow dentist , ecoli , test results painful ribs the treatments the MED tent sure is busy !! Denise's good news is she went through the angiogram with no problems. The bad news is they found another aneurysm in the front of her brain . The Dr,said it is smaller and he will take care of it when he does the clip for the one in the back of her brain. If it had not been for this procedure the second one may not have been found so I am thanking God for that.
Denise is doing well and being brave as always and we both will be very, very happy to have this all over, She goes Back to Cleveland next week for another consult, what will happen next and schedule the surgery for both aneurysm's.
I think about you all everyday and lift you all in prayers
Praying for better days for all that are going through struggles ~
hugs and Lv ~

Oh Sheri, I love it. As soon as my husband wakes up, I will have big time computer competition the rest of the day. I really like Netflix - but I have had problems before where the disc was scratched! What a bummer. We got rid of HBO and cinemax - we were just throwing our money out the window cause there was never anything on there we watched. So netflix is fun.
Carrie: So good to hear that Denise got through the angiogram without too much difficulty. 2 aneurysms now. Wow. The 2 of you are so strong.
I have big plans for today. Gotta pull my flowers. The frost finially did them in. And then keep working on the Christmas presents Im making with plastic canvas. At this rate, it looks like I will only have one present done.
Have a great Saturday
Nicki0 -
NS...call your doctor!!!! NOW...my grandfather got an ecoli infection that they think he picked up on the farm and it entered through a cut on his hand and it damaged his heart. I'm not saying your in serious danger and I soooo don't want to freak you out but you really should get antibiotics. Its more dangerous for the very young and old but please call and get it taken care of as I don't think it can go away on it's own (I could be wrong though).
Another hitch in the car saga...I got the check from the insurance company to pay for the repairs on my car...took it to the garage and they told me that...oops...they are going to need more money. They started taking my car apart to do the repairs and found far more damage under what they originally saw...major damage! Crap...stuck with the rental waiting for the adjuster to come back out again. I wish the would just total it and get it over with.
So glad it's Saturday as I couldn't have handled another day at work. Went and rented a carpet shampooer so I can shampoo all the carpets...fun fun.
Mena..sending you hugs and love for happier brighter days.
Shel...keep the groove going...you deserve it. I hope the change of scenery is just what you need.
Susan...love the pumpkins...I have to carve pumpkins with Nathaniel later.
Nicki...I too love Netflix. Hated that HBO and cinemax played the same movies over and over all month long...especially in the winter when there's not much else to do. I am NOT a cold weather person...I prefer to hibernate or go south!
Sheri...sounds like you got good news...?
Snowman...roast beef dip?...sounds yummy!
Prayers for Denise...thank you for the update Carrie.
Missing so many...going to go look up ecoli for NS and then get busy shampooing.
Hope you all have a simply wonderful day.
Hugs
Vickie0 -
Ok...looked up e-coli...from what I've read it will resolve itself within a week on it's own as long as your immune system is fairly stable. If it doesn't get better or you feel worse then it could cause a secondary infection that you would need antibiotics for.
Are you feeling better NS...I am hoping so. Didn't want to scare you I just know that ecoli is miserable!
Hugs
Vickie0 -
Good morning fellow campers. I'll have my eggs over medium please and a bit of ham and grits to go with it. Thanks to our cooks. I would starve without you.
Have to spend my day in the wagon tidying up.
Deb, stop picking, buy mittens.
Liz, call that idiot dentist and get yourself some pain meds.
NS, yikes call your doctor.
Nicki, don't I wish. All my doctors are old farts, except my onc who looks and acts like Lurch.
Vicki, hate car issues. Heres hoping yours are resolved quickly.0 -
Nicki: You are so wonderful to remember me in your prayers each day you dont know how much I appreciate it.The DH is home this weekend,I hate the weekends when he is.He tries to see how miserable he can make me.But at least he spends most of his time on the computer talking to his women.
He never ask how I feel, how I am doing, anything about the chemo nothing. Its as if I have a bad cold to him and will just get over it.
I am gonna bet this thing, then I am knocking his butt out the door and let the wagon trains just run over him.
I could not treat a dog the way he has treated me,escially a sick dog.
I could go on and on with the stories of what he has done and said to me but it would take much to long.
I am just having one of those why me days today. If I were married to a loving man I could fight this so much easier.I envy the ladies who have husbands who do care about them.
But someday I am gonna be happy again and have a husband who loves me.I just hate the fact that I have wasted 18years on this &*(_&^.its a shame.
Well I have let off enough steam.
Have a great weekend all of you.I am going to the chocolate tent then the massage tent and stay there the rest of the day...0 -
Dear Robin,
we are here to cheer you up and hold your hand whenever you need it. And we will especially enjoy kicking DH's butt!! You are entitled to feel a little low. This is a long haul for you. Remember how much we all care about you. I think you need some more cards!!!!
Oh baseball cards! St. Louis Cards!!! I am just so deliriously happy today. woohoo No more baseball until February.0 -
Oh dear Robin...I'm so sorry. I know just how you feel after living with the same thing for 20 years. Mine was only home on the weekends also as he drove tractor trailer for a living and I grew to dread the weekends. No words of advice just sending you more prayers, hugs and lotsa love. PM me your phone number if you want to chat and we'll come up with lots of evil revenge idea's! I actually used to have a book called "Spite, Malace and Revenge"...we need that book here for a few girls with husbands and SO's like yours and one lying lady who pulled out in front of me!
Almost Halloween girls...don't forget NS's halloween parade. I'm ready...wait till you see!0 -
Dearest Susan:
I dont follow sports but I am happy for you now.Whopee...I will be ok.I just need Monday to come for him to get outta here.I struggle to pay bills on what little bit he gives me every 2 weeks and he bitches on me because I am always broke. He always wants to buy something stupid, like he traded a good 200.00 in work for 3 stupid airplaines.Remote control airplains.can you believe it.That money would have went a long way toward groceries.
I just dont understand him.I have never seen such a selfish inconsiderate man as he is.He would take food off our table to get what he wants.Oh last week it was super powered magnets from Ebay he had to have.I told him I couldnt pay for it.IT was only 10.00 but still when you are broke that would have went a long way especially buying Noelle's milk.
Oh,well this to shall pass.I do need more than cards i just dont know what.Wish you were nearby, then I probably would burn you out with me crying all the time.I have decided I am going to go ahead and talk to an attorey about the port thing now.If I have to pay him off then I just will at least I can have peace of mind.I just hate to know that my suffering will lead to him and his next wife being set up financially for good.I am gonna ask the lawyer about that to if I have to share with him.I have enough evidence on him it would not take a judge/jury 5 min to see what happened here.
Oh well more on that later. Thanks to all of you for being there.
Talk to you later susan.0 -
Hi Wagon Girls,
I haven't been able to keep up at all, because I got a second!!!!! cellulitis infection in one month in my mastectomy/reconstruction site, from my breasts down to my pelvis. Resulted in septicemia, or blood infection. I ended up in the hospital for four and a half days with an antibiotic drip. Infectious disease doc told me that cellulitis is more likely to recur, especially once it has recurred. Not reassuring at all, considering that two weeks after the infection took hold, the infection still has not completely healed and I am beyond exhausted.
I stayed home for a week. Cried my eyes out. Decided I need to reinvent myself and start a new way of life. Went back to work this past Monday. Have been taking all steps to ease myself out of my work situation ASAP, for as long as possible, with the best financial outcome. Very hard decision.
If the decision was difficult, this past week was excruciating. I still haven't figured out how or when to tell my staff. Every day that passes, I feel more guilty and incompetent as I fall farther behind in my work and worry that I will be placing undue stress on my staff. I know in my head that I am not incompetent, only health-compromised, but my heart doesn't seem to get this.
nosurrender, a word to the wise, infections can kill people with compromised immune systems. Perhaps yours is in tip-top shape. Many cancer survivors' are not. If it were me, I'd call my doctor without delay.
So, fellow wagon girls, any advice, support, prayers, soup, tea and/or sympathy would be most appreciated.
Thanks!0 -

Wow! I get to come back to the wagon 3 times in one day. Now thats a new one. I getting the campfire ready for a nice Halloween type evening. Have lots of pumpkins carved and will put candles in them. Have lots of hot chocolate to keep warm.
E Coli - an interesting bug! Its found in our colon, normally. There is good bacteria and bad and the e coli in our colons is good. But then there is the bad kind. The most common cause of a urinary tract infection is from e coli. Usually that can be treated simply with an antibiotic. But then there is the really bad kind. From food and water. And that can be serious. So the best thing to do is to call your doctors and not try and treat it yourself.
Robin: I agree with Susan. My sleeves are rolled up and ready to kick some butt. Just lock him in the basement with his computer and pretend he is not there. Come on out to the campfire. We could tell funny and scary stories. Make each other laugh for a bit. Its only natural to feel how you are. All of us want to love and be loved. To feel taken care of. And we here in the circle really care about you.
Debbyfive: Good to hear from you and thanks for the update on Mena.
Mena: Im glad you are starting to feel better. Hope to see you soon.
Katfine: Oh my goodness. Cellulitis and sepsis. Very serious. Im so sorry you had to go through this. Come on to the medic tent. We will keep you warm and comfortable.
Ok, gotta go. Need to find some Irish whiskey to put in my hot chocolate.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all the well wishes and good thoughts. I am such a wimp when it comes to dentists. The pain is still there but is getting a bit better. Called the idiot dentist who did the root canal and he swears I shouldn't have this pain. He offered to meet me at his office for an emergency visit but I declined. I would have had to drive 1 hour and didn't want to pay him anymore than I already have. Fortunately, I have some left over drugs and have been taking those.
Hugs and Prayers to everyone. I'll check in tomorrow.

Nicki - here's a pumpkin for you.

Tracey, sorry you are still feeling bad. I have a hard time with my stomach myself. How are the scary movies??
And Liz in pain still?? How many days has it been. Are you gargling with salt water? I think that might help. Nice pumpkin by the way.
Kathy, cellutis and sepsemia (sp?). Sounds like you had a bad case. Glad you are out of the hospital. I can understand your concerns about the job. I ended up leaving my job. My husband retired and we sold our house and moved so it would all work out. I was tired of trying to keep up. Plus the career just didn't seem so important anymore.
thanksfor the break. I'm going back out to ride the range.

Love the last pumpkin Peggy!
Well it was another beautiful fall day here on the Seattle sid eof the circle. Lot's of leaves blowing in the breeze and a great day for a drive. Went out to get Mom her groceries for the week and make her do a little walking.
My Mom & sister should be here in a couple of days. They were in Flagstaff this morning. They'll stop in Vegas tonight to see my neice and nephew then it's on to Seattle.
Got my material out of cardboard boxes and into see through plastic totes. so now I will be able to go to the closet and see what I'm looking for. One day I'll go through the totes and organize it by what type of material it is. I think there are 12 totes in the one closet and I still have more in the other room!
I have so many projects in mind that it will keep me busy for some time. First I have to finish the curtains for the bedroom this weekend.
I think I'll go check out some paint colors too while I'm at it.
NS please do check in with the DR.
Good and bad news for Deese. But I'm glad they found the second one and will be able to take care of it at the same time.0
