Mena, I really hope you are reading these posts! We all love you, you have been such an inspiration to me. I really hope you get better soon.

Nicki, switch dentists! We are always so careful to treat people well and hope they do the same, but that office is not worth dealing with. If the dentist is any good, they need to know their office staff is not very compassionate. My pcp's office is like that, I am on hold every single time I call. The only reason I stay is I love my dr!

Amy, I'd love to have you and your donkey come on up. I will say that my dh has been a little nicer to me. It was our old van that didn't start, but it's doing ok after a little boost. I do drive the new car whenever I go to Georgetown to see my daughter, though. It gets better gas mileage.

Ok, the worry worked. I got my form letter that my mammo was normal, yippee! My headache even went away, finally.

Lots of love and warmth to all. I LOVE hot chocolate! Save me some.

    hi all,
I have been gone for a few days. I tried to read through the posts and find inspiring things to say today but it just didn't work. so this is all I got.

Sheri glad your mamo is good.
MB I love taco salad. thank you.
Nicki, I went through something like you did with your dentist with a former PCP. It turned out to be a good thing. It's just hard to feel rejected by a doctor!!! (or dentist)
Brenda how's it going with the new onc.
    Ronda and Christine: GO CARDS
Debbyfive, hope you are doing good.

for those of you who are sick, I'm praying for you to get well.

oh yeah, i'm having pains around the muscles on the right side of my chest. I've been working out. hope that's all it is. (surgery was on other side) just something else to worry about.

    Evening all,

First, thank you all for riding in with me for the root canal.

Jeannie, how did your visit with the cardiologist go today? Sorry about the nip. I haven't done mine yet and honestly am leaning to not doing them. My ps told me I could do them in 10 years if I wanted.

Jeanette, I Survived! It wasn't really too bad once I got good and numb except for having my mouth propped open for over an hour and a half! I've never had a root canal done like this one. It was a bit weird but this guy is an Endontist so he does everything digitally and makes big bucks. Now they tell me I need to make an appt with my regular dentist for the crown. Huh? Guess I'll call him tomorrow.

NS, so glad you told me the dessert tent is on the South Beach diet. I am trying to diet and desserts are a no no.

Peggy, How are you? Haven't seen you in ages. I loved the pic and the saying. Made me laugh.

Shel, I was a no sweets person pre-chemo. During it though, I had mega cravings and they have just now started to go away. Enjoy yourself in Mexico. You deserve it.

ronda, we'd make a great pair at the dentist. LOL

Tracey, how have you been? Hope you ??? hasn't froze off.

Christine, sorry about your friends dad. When is your thyroid bx? Hope things turn out okay. Let us know.

Kristin, how are you feeling? I found my fatigue got worse with each treatment. Listen to you body and rest when you need it.

Nicki, you are so sweet. We're checking into 24 hour caregivers however, they are very scarce around here and they charge big bucks as well. We're taking things one day at a time. Sorry about your dentist. You don't deserve to be treated that way. Find a new one that is compassionate and has good staff.

Mena, where do I start? You were one of the first ladies I talked with when I came into the chat room. You taught me that I would get through this and would be okay. You are a strong, wonderful, loving woman and I'm sorry you've been sick. Know that we all are here for you and we'll do anything we can to help. Please let us help you.

Lynn, thanks for the support and I don't blame you for not coming to the dentist. Be careful driving this weekend but have a great time.

MB, good to see you and glad you have a great vacation.

Sher, glad the followup visit went well. You didn't tell the other girls here about the hot surgeon. LOL

Sheri, great news on the mammo. I'm so happy for you.

Susan, I complained about pains in my side at my onc visit this week. He ask if I had been working out and I told him yes. He told me those were muscles and they were complaining since they hadn't been used for a year. Hope that's what yours is too.

I'm sure I've missed someone. To all that are waiting, not feeling well, are sick with the flu or just sick of all this, my prayers are with you.

    Hugs

Sending some west coast sunshine to you all!

Mena you are never alone, we are here for you

Sheri great news on the mammo!

Kathy R how are you doing?

    Niki get a new dentist

slow cooked pot roast, rosemary herb potatoes and parsnips & gravey and candy corn cake for tomorrows dinner

Went in to talk about the braca testing today. They aren't to worried about the bc history but they are concerned about the possibility of overian cancer. apparently since my grandmother had pancriatic cancer it 's also conected with overian cancer. so now if the insurance will pay for the test it's all set.

Well wishes for those that are down with the flu and other yucky stuff. get well soon!

    prayers are with you all

Mena, I hope you are ok. We have a nice spot for you infront of the fire.

I just have to tell you girls about the STUPID new rules for pharmacies today!!!

I went to CVS half dead to get a box of Non-Drowsy formula Decongestant. There is a new rule that it can only be sold behind the counter but they usually sneak a few boxes in the aisle to give people a break.

but this store has a new manager!

Not only is it NOT sold behind the pharmacy counter- it is ONLY sold behind the front counter where people buying shampoo and motor oil wait on line forever. It gets better!
I waited on line and then when it was finally my turn they said I couldn't take it to the pharmacy with me to pay for it there when I was picking up my rx. There was a pharm tech standing right next to me and I asked if she could take it up for me. NO. The pharm tech asked for a box of Clariton D. They wouldn't give it to her!

So I said- let me get this straight I can't have nasal decongestant and the pharmacy can't have a box of clariton???

    NO!

I have to give them my license and they have to fill out all my personal information in a binder and pay for it there and then they will hold it for me while I continue to shop and THEN when I am ready to leave they will let me have it! AND
the pharm tech? She had an rx for the Clariton that a customer brought to the drive up window at the pharmacy and they wouldn't give it to her either. The person had to park and come in and give her license too!

I announced that all the renovations on my crystal meth lab were done and I had plenty of meth to go around so I didn't need a box of Non Drowsy CVS Decongestant to make more product. (that didn't go over well)

So I left without it and went to another store which I will not name so they don't change what they are doing- went to the cough and cold section- bought their brand of nasal decongestant FROM THE AISLE and was out of there in less than five minutes.

They REALLY shouldn't be doing this kind of stuff to people who are sick!

Just time for a quick check-in. Thanks for all the good wishes. I am SO glad to be done. My burns still look yucky, but they looka bit better today, I think

I wanted to let you know my friend Linda got a clean PET scan back. She does not have any sign of METS. I never thought stage 3 would sound so GOOD! She starts chemo Nov. 2nd. Thanks for keeping her in your prayers.

I am still craving SLEEP...so I'm off to my recliner.

Well good morning. This is a quick one! I have to be at work this morning at 7:15am sharp. Geez, Im usually in the shower then! Im still half asleep here.

PurpleMB: I just new it. Your picture looks great.

For those of you who dont know, Purple MB's picture is on Lifetime too. Great picture and the wording says something like she got her black belt in karate after her breast cancer diagnosis.

NS: Sounds like you had a problem with customer service at the CVS. That surprises me, cause usually they are pretty good at it. Anyways, there is a new law, cant keep alot of the cold meds in the aisles anymore. They have to keep track of who is buying it and how often cause druggies were making meth from it. I know a walgreens its kept behind locked windows and at my CVS its kept on shelves behind the counter in the pharmacy. Well at least thats the way it is here.

Ok, gotta go, talk to ya all later.

Every store in Michigan has to do what that CVS did. It's the law here. They want to slow down the meth labs. You can only buy two boxes at a time, and there's a minimum age to purchase, too. The ID thing sounds like a good idea, but with the ability to get fake Id's so easily, I wonder if it's reaaly going to work. I'm just glad I have an Allegra D rx. Not so much hassle.

Good wishes and prayers for all.

    Good Morning everyone,

Mena, I do hope this finds you having a better day. We all have those "alone" feelings and they can just wash you to the depths of dispare and it easy to happen when you feel so bad.

DebC, I didn't have the radiation burns but met a lady there that we became friends with and hers were really bad and I honestly thought they couldn't give her anymore but they did - she was in pain!! I am glad they look better and feel sure they gave you cream to use. Rads really wiped me out so I under the recliner thing.

NS, just hope you are feeling better. This has been going on now for about 2 weeks. I think Nicki is right, all our immune systems have been greatly compromised and will be for a very long time.

Liz, Amy, Mena, Pennylane, RobinTN, Denise and Carrie, hope all is feeling better. To the others that I have failed to call by name, you are in my prayers too and wishes for brighter days. Shel, glad you decided to go on that trip - ENJOY.

I need to close. I am going to a Women of Faith conference in Charlotte late this afternoon. Just wanted to drop by and say hello and that I read this but can't remember all the names (chemo brain) when I start to type.

Take care, stay by the fire in the inner circle if you need to - Hugs and blessings, Brenda

Sitting at my son's computer so this will be fast. Thought all of my other BC sisters with lipid issues would be interested in the cardio visit and his RX. My triglycerides were 267 the last time. He said he doesn't get excited until they hit the 400-500 range as long as the other lipids and glucose are in line. His suggestion? Take 2000 mg fish oil every day, get blood drawn in late November and see 'ya in 6 months. A specialist who goes to homeopathic solutions first---I almost fell off the table.

And I know you guys were there too. While I was sitting there waiting for him the aroma of chocolate wafted into the room. Probably one of his staff making hot chocolate but it made me laugh.

More when I get home Sunday. This keyboard is WEIRD (and I'm the one who gave it to him last Christmas). One of those ergonomic jobbies and I've typoed all over myself with it.

OK folks, I got supper cookin'

I have T-bone steaks soaking in a balsamic vinegar and olive oil marinade with a touch of garlic and black pepper. There are big portabella mushrooms marinating for those of you that don’t care for beef tonight. I have raked the coals into a nice bed under the grill, so everyone can cook there dinner to their own liking. The potatoes and the last of the fresh sweet corn are all wrapped in tin foil and cooking in Dutch ovens at the edge of the fire. There is another Dutch oven with apple cobbler staying warm at the fires edge. There is apple cider waiting in the cooler…one jug is hard cider for those with a taste for a little more zip.

I hope all are doing well tonight. My burns are a bit better and I actually got a little bit of cleaning done this afternoon.

    Hugs and prayers to everyone.

Deb C, glad you are doing ok. The burns will heal, it's hard to believe sometimes. I can't even see anything there anymore.

I posted under a different thread about my experience at my dr today. It was actually good for once!

BTW, Deb, can I have a steak? I like mine medium rare. It's one of my favorite foods, sorry vegetarians out there.

Got a steak over the fire for you right now Cooking will give me something to do instead of PICKING at my dried skin around my burns...

I know..sick, but I am a world class picker...can not leave things like this alone. I need to put mittens on or something to make me stop!

Do you want blue cheese or herb butter on the steak??

    Hi girls,

DebC, you are making my mouth water. Can I have a steak and mushroom put on hold? My mouth is so sore from my root canal yesterday and my face is puffy too. Haven't been able to eat anything today so it's liquids. Hmmmm maybe some of that hard cider? Leave those burns alone girl, you don't want to get them infected.

Sherndon, glad your appointment went well today. Hope you have a relaxing weekend.

Nicki, hope you enjoy your movie and relax. You deserve it.

Jeannie, thanks for the fish oil tip. I'm going to go out and buy some tomorrow. Enjoy your conference.

Okay on the topic of the meds being put behind counters. Oklahoma was the first to create that law. It is a hassle to get the meds, however, since the law was created here, meth labs have been virtually shut down. My small town used to have a major problem. We've gone from 200 drug busts a year to 6 busts in the last year. So it does work. I've heard where more and more states are adopting it.

The idiot dentist who did my root canal told me I wouldn't have much pain! and to take 3 Advil every 6 hours. Therefore, I am going to go rummage in my "drug" cabinet and find something good. This hurts!

    Hugs and Prayers to everyone.

Well I have an answer to part of my flu!
I thought having two types of flu was a little weird. And I also thought that my CAT having it too was even weirder!

Today, BY ACCIDENT, I found out that we are not supposed to drink the water in my town. It has been contaminated for over a week with E. Coli!

They were supposed to notify everyone by phone, but people with unlisted phone numbers, renters, or people who have thier phones through the cable company are out of luck!

So the stomach version of this with the headache, chills and fever could be from THAT because I drink about ten glasses a day - plus my cat has been having major stomach problems too.

I picked up info at the village hall and we aren't even allowed to brush our teeth with the tap water!

I hope this will go away on its own now. Enough is enough!!

    Deb your steaks sound FINE!
Vera what is the difference between a wigwam and a teepee???
Nicki can you post a pick of your pumpkin?
Liz, I am so sorry your mouth is hurting you.. just thinking about getting that done gives me shivers!
Jeannie- sounds like you lucked out with your cholesterol! Good for you!

Laura and Liz i guess they HAVE to do that with the decongestants.. too bad they don't pay as much attention to warning people about our water supply! LOL!
Naniam, I hope you have a great trip.
And shel- you better be getting your groove back!

Any of our resident medics think I need to take something or notify my doc? Or will this just go away on its own???

And here I was avoiding Spinach!
