Good Morning everyone! Im hunkered in my teepee coffee in hand. Too cold out there in the wilderness. But its warm here inside. Thank goodness!

Its very quiet, just the sound of a soft but cold wind. I sure do miss the birds singing in the morning. But they are smart, they go south for the Winter. With most of the leaves gone, you can look up and see all the nests in the trees. The squirrel nests are huge!!

Tgirl: It was so good to hear from you. The Eagles will win again! Being a loyal Bears and Cubs fan, I know how you feel. I dont think the Cubs have been in a world series game in my lifetime. And Im a north sider, so I dont like the White Sox. Tampa Bay just stole that one game away from them. Who in the world kicks a 62 yard field goal? Its so neat that your surgeon is being profiled on bc.org - I just love it.

Lynn: Boy it sounds cold! And here I am complaining about 20 F. What is chanook?

Silvergirl: So glad to see you again. Your description of the mountains was wonderful. I could picture the view. I hate icy roads. If its gonna be a long cold winter for all of us, then I ask, what ever happened to global warming? If its snowy, Im gonna be upset, cause I sold my jeep this past September. Anyways, good luck at the dentist with your root canal. We will be with you, holding your hand, encouraging your dentist to be nice to you.

Shirley: When I read your post I just had to laugh. Yes, sometimes our words get lost in cyberspace. Especially if your writing a long post. So now I save after each comment and go back to edit. It seems to be this particular thread. I am still wondering if it is because of all the pages.

Tracey: I think Winter is always depressing. Not enough warmth or daylight for me. Hopefully your feeling down shall pass sooner than later. Im not depressed, just irritable. Got upset with my husband last night over the silliest thing! I mentioned earlier he bought me cheap wine. It tasted awful. So I said to him, next time I buy you beer its gonna be the cheapest I can find. And then say to him what? You dont like it?

Liz: Thank goodness the medic tent was quiet last night. Oh I hate the stomach virus. Had lots of ginger ale and dry crackers to nible on. I hope your feeling better this morning.

Mena: Oh I was so delighted this morning to hear from you again. Im glad the cold thing is finially over. I was so sick with it, so I cant imagine being that sick and having to take care of children too. All I could do was lay in bed and watch movies. Im also glad you got a break from the chemo. Not one day went by where we didnt think of you.

NS: my female cat is pretty fat lol. A raccoon in the water? Oh ewwwww! Hope they get everything straighten out right away. I never drink tap water, but it was interesting yesterday, I filled a glass to take a vitamin and I could smell chlorine! Cant shower with bottled water though.

Cheryl: Oh my such wonderful pictures. Sounds like the 3 of you had so much fun. And Chloe is adorable as a butterfly.

Robin: How are you this morning? I hope all is going well. Just remember, the bum is dumb and hes just no fun.

    LuAnn: where are you

    Lini: where are you

    Peggy: where are you

    Marla: where are you

    Rondab (cookie) where are you

Oops. I sound like a broken record.

Amy, Kristin, and all the other circle girls I didnt mention, just saying high and hoping all is well.
Well here is hoping that everyone has a wonderful Friday. Talk to you all later.

Happy friday ladies. A cold grey day here in the mountains. Wandering son is delayed due to snow in some pass or another. Should be home late this afternoon. An hours drive to pick him up so I'm meeting my daughter and the kidlets for lunch. Haven't seen my favorite babies for weeks. And what did we do on our last night as empty nesters you may ask??? Fell asleep in our chairs watching the tube. ahahahahahaha we so don't deserve the title.
Hope this thread never disappears. That would be tragic. Would it be possible for some of the early pages to be deleted? That might give us some server space.

MENA!!!!!!!!! Hi there. I am soooooo happy you are feeling better.
    PS your burping.

Hugs Tracey. Stay warm and buy a sunlamp.

    HI MB

Liz, I would hug you but uhhhhhhhh, no thanks. Feel better.
Shame on that man. What a coward.

Theresa, cool your surgeon is famous. Mine is just an old fart but I adore him in spite of it.

Jeannette, chicken soup is my all time fav. Thanks bunches

    NS.....GEEZ

Cheryl what a great pic. You all look fabulous. Cloe is adorable.

    Hi all
its very cold here in england too and we have some huge spiders this year.Laying in bed last week i looked up and there was a spider looking down at me i have this phober about spiders so a bright spark like iam decided if i stood on a stool i could catch it in a glass with a piece of paper it didnt quite work though the stool tipped up i ended up breaking my wrist 11 stitches in my head and with no skin left on my nose i did get told off by doctor hubby
and kids but i did tell them it was huge not quite the truth
it was only the size of my little finger nail and it did so much damage to me in future the spider can stay.
    i hope all are well

    Good afternoon wagon circle girls,

Just doing a quick check in as I am at work and the top of my desk is covered,,yep no lie.

Mena,,,so glad to see you back around the circle and sticking your head out of the medic tent. We missed you girl!

PaulineJones-so sorry about the accident-hoping you heal quickly!

tgirl-i laughed out loud about the toothbrush and the toilet. Now thats a nice evil thought isnt it?!?

RobinTN-hope you are doing ok with them chemo.

cthomason-nice pictures and great to put a name with the faces.

chemosabi-hope you stayed warm in your teepee this morning. It was cool on my end of the wagon circle this morning also. I had to pull my little short haired dogs out from under the covers so they could go out and do their business. Needless to say it didnt take them long. I would send them out in their sweaters but 2 are boys and well they couldnt aim where they would need to with their sweaters on.

NS-cant believe that about your water. Thats just awful. Hope you are recuping nicely.

I know I have missed so many but just trying to drop in quickly. I am off to get some work done but while I was here I did toss some big logs on the fire to keep us all warm. Amy

To all of you ladies going through hard times.

    "Wildflower" by Skylark

    She's faced the hardest times
    you could imagine
and many times her eyes fought back the tears
    and when her youthful world
    was about to fall in
    each time her slender shoulders
bore the weight of all her fears
and a sorrow no one hears
    still rings in midnight silence,
    in her ears

Let her cry, for she's a lady
let her dream, for she's a child
let the rain fall down upon her
She's a free and gentle flower,
    growing wild

and if by chance I should hold her
let me hold her for a time
but if allowed just one possession
I would pick her from the garden,
    to be mine

Be careful how you touch her,
    for she'll awaken
and sleep's the only freedom that she knows
and when you walk into her eyes,
    you won't believe
    the way she's always paying
for a debt she never owes
and a silent wind still blows
that only she can hear and so she goes

Let her cry, for she's a lady
let her dream, for she's a child

let the rain fall down upon her
She's a free and gentle flower,
    growing wild

Hi! I dont have much time. Just sneaked in for a bit and wanted to say hello to everyone.

Pauline: Oh my, I hate spiders too. A fractured wrist and 11 stitches! Geez. Glad you came to the circle. Come on down to the medic tent. Well put ice on to make the swelling go down, got pain meds, and lots of soothing stuff. Just stay away from liz. We have her in isolation cause of the stomach flu.

Ill be back in the morning.

Oh, one more thing before I have to go for the evening. This is my infamous story for the day.

For those of you who have been in the circle a while, you know how sick I was a few weeks back with bronchitis. Well this morning, once again, my dear husband quietly comes up to me and says, "do ya have any antibiotics?" At first I said no, and then I freaked out!! I do not, cannot, will not get sick again!

Now the story gets better. He doesnt have a doctor. Such a big baby. Typical male. So in a panic, I actually had the nerve to call the hospital and paged my PCP overhead. When he picked up the call I cried and whined, said Im getting bronchitis again and please order me antibiotics. And pretty please give me one refill!!

Now mind you, its in his bronchial tubes and a yucky color, so I know its infection not just virus.

Well it worked. My husband had the antibiotics in his hands one hour later, and if by chance I get this, I have some for me. And if I do get this, Im gonna clean the toilet with his tooth brush.

HELLO GGS, I cant believe my mess i am in! the doctor said they have got to get my heart regulated, and beating at a normal rate, before they give my breast problems any notice!! they said, my thyroid must be taken care of first, because the thyroid, causes stress on the heart! the virus, is now considered moderate, which my dr. said is serious!! I don't know what comes next, but am very scared about this! Nicki, can you please find anything out on this, from one of your friends at the hospital? I mean, My God, just what IF this is cancer, what happens now?????? they, never seem concerned, just expect me to understand, and I do not!! Praying for you All, and MENA, you have made me happy! debbyfive(aka Puppy)

    Puppy,
I hope that Niki can get you some answers. Sounds as though you need the first class chaise lounge in the medic tent with all of our warm loving. Sopunds of waves in the background, a comfy drink (something warm - cocoa or a toddy?) and a masseuse to soothe you.

CG's - an update on my root canal - it did NOT happen. Turns out the tooth is OK at the moment. My dentist wanted it canaled so he could do some bridge work. But I am not ready for the bridge and definitely not ready for a root canal. So I said thanks and see you when I really need to. So instead of a sore mouth I am home celebrating! And ready to help anyone in the medic tent.

    Good Evening Girls
Actually it's morning for me as I am on night shifts at the moment!

Nicki, a chinook is a warm wind that comes down from the mountains (the west). Somehow the air heats up as it screams over the mountains and we benefit with warmer weather. We're sort of at the easterly effect of its warmth, but I'll take it. Actually got into the plus side today and not supposed to go below freezing tonight, so that is wonderful. Hope you don't get the bronchitis again, glad the hubby was quick to jump on his (with you getting the meds!). Men are funny.

Lini, good to hear from you again, that was a favourite of mine too.

Mena, yeah, you're feeling better. Hope the trend continues.

Pauline, oh my, quite the fall. Heal quickly.

Jeannette, YIPPEE, man I would have been out of that chair so quick if they said it didn't need to be done. I really am uncomfortable at the dentist, yet my kids love it! Tells ya how things have changed since we were kids.

Puppy, (((((((hugs))))))) and prayers that you are better soon.

Off to cook supper, BBQ pork chops, baked potatoes and some vegetable.

    Hugs and prayers to everyone.

    Evening girls,

First thanks for all the well wishes. Guess this was a 24hr virus as I'm doing fine today. I'm back and ready to help.

Thanks again to all of you for the prayers for Michelle. I am so furious with her husband for being so insensitive and inconsiderate of Michelle and his kids.

Sher, LOL that sounds like us the night before my son came home. Hope he got home safely and glad you got to see the kidlets and your daughter.

Tracey, try to stay warm and please be careful driving. Watch the other guy is my moto.

Theresa, Michelle's husband was married before and has kids who are in college now so they weren't at the house. I still find this whole thing odd that he would lay in the sons room. Friends went over yesterday and took everything out of his bedroom and have replaced it with all new.

Pauline, Oh No! I was bit by a brown recluse spider several years ago. I was like you, had a major phobia after that. Sorry you had the horrible fall. I'm sure you're very sore today. Please stay off that stool. Gentle hugs.

NS, nope haven't been drinking your water. I think I would consider moving also. A dead racoon? ewwwwwwwwwwww

lini, I've always like that song. Thanks so much.

Nicki, glad your PCP ordered the meds. Mine is pretty good about calling in something if I leave a message on the nurse line that I have something wrong.

Puppy, oh bless you. Did they tell you the actual name of the virus? I'd be happy to do some research for you. Just let me know if I can help.

    Jeanette, you lucky girl!!!!! wooooohooooooooooo
    Celebrate all weekend.

Robin, you are always in my prayers.

Mena, take care of yourself hon. Kids don't realize that we're human and get sick also.

I didn't cook anything for dinner but have some left over Sopapilla Cheese Cake.

    Hugs and Prayers

Yes tracey, I went to Tom Baker - and also had the most wonderful plastic surgeon for my reconstruction. Am very fortunate to live so near a world class facility.

As for the cold - it's way too early to have to start complaining about that.

Niki, a Chinook is a warm westerly wind that blows from off the Pacific, over the Rockies and lands in Calgary. It can literally raise the temperature 20 degrees within 30 minutes. The word is Aboriginal and means snow eater - which is what it does, melts the snow instantly. It doesn't affect the mountains re snow melt altho the warming temps mean that skiers are blessed with sun and relative warmth as well as lots of snow. The most interesting thing is that as it blows in it chases the clouds away and you can see a very clear line between the blue sky and the clouds which is called a Chinook arch. See the arch and you know that warm weather is about to strike.
OK, that's the science class for tonite. I am putting a log on the fire, tucking in all the gals in the medic tent. Wishing all the rest of you stay well.

    Sleep tight.
Don't let the bed bugs bite.

Ok- since my post went poof from earlier I will try this again- but I am bummed!

They printed my letter in the newspaper about the water- I really was mad! I am glad they did!
Cheryl great pictures of you and the girls! and your little lady bug is adorable!!!!!

Pauline- oh dear! I hope you are healing ok. Next time just SHOOT the spider!

(((LINI))) so happy to see you back! We missed you! Love that song!

Nicki Girl your hubby is LUCKY to have you!

Debbie- YOU HAVE TO GET STRAIGHTENED OUT! one way or the other!!

Jeannette! NO root canal??? Thank heavens!

Lynne! Don't worry! I haven't been drinking it! I love reading about your part of the world. You really bring it to life!

Liz, I would be mad at him too. Especially because he did it in the son's room. THAT is just plain scary.

Tracy I have high speed too and this site has slowed down quite a bit on all threads.

Well i am cold. Can I take a bath before I saddle up for my rounds???

Do we still have Peggy's tricked out jacuzzi wagon someplace????

NS take a nice long HOT bath and relax!

Pauline, no more chasing spiders. Get the hubby to do that!

Deb5 The thyroid can make you tired if it's not working right. So be sure you get it checked out.

And yes the site has been slow for a while now.
hope it gets better soon and we don't lose anymore posts

Well it's warmer her today but it's been raining non stop!
Course I wouldn't know it since I slept the day away! I went to bed at midnight got up once around noon and went back to bed until the hubby came in with homemade ham & potatoe soup & beacon quesodillias for dinner at 5pm
He said I need the sleep so he didn't bother me all day! What a sweetie!
He's taking me out for a movie and dinner this weekend for my birthday and maybe we'll find me a big nice and soft blanket for the bed too!

My sister opted to stay at a hotel for a few nights as my extra bed is so soft that she just sank into it and she needs a firmer bed. Hope they get her a truck on Moday so she can start making money again. She's a truck driver by trade and they've been delaying getting her a new truck.

Hope everyone stays away from that flu bug and bronchitis bug that's been flying around

Good Morning everyone. Yep, even though its Saturday, Im up at my usual time. But no work today, so I can just relax and take my time this morning. Love being able to do what I want, when I want.

Dark around the circle. Cant see any starts so it must be cloudy. Just waiting for daylight to break. Feeling pretty good this morning, but wondering if those cold bugs from my husband are gonna come my way. I went to my pharmacy yesterday, heard about this stuff called tamiflu - if you take it at the onset of a cold, it is supposed to cut down on the severity and length. Im so crazy and determined not to get this bug - I figured I would start taking it right now! Anyways, ya cant get it over the counter - by prescription only. And after yesterday - Im too embarrassed to call my PCP again. I mean, what would I say - hey doc I gave the antibiotics to my husband, but will you order me tamiflu so I dont get his cold? Geez! I go to CVS - its opened up about 6 months ago and is walking distance to my house. I was one of their first customers and they are always so nice to me. Everyone in the store knows me by my first name (thats how many meds im on). So anyways, later on, Im gonna go talk to the pharmacist and see if there is anything like tamiflu over the counter!

Husband says the antibiotic is already working. I said, yeag Ter - thats called denial. One antibiotic is not gonna get rid of the bronchitis. Also made him by stuff called Mucinex - pretty good stuff. Its like Robitussin cough medicine in tablet form. Did he take one? No!! I just growled at him. Said, ya know I have been a nurse and a manager for many years. If ya want to get better, you need to listen to my advice!! So the bottle of mucinex is still sitting unopened. Oh I could just bite him sometimes.

Its sort of funny, cause you would think Im the one bringing the colds into the house. Immune system still down cause of chemo. But it has been him both times. When he plays at the pubs he gives kisses and hugs to alot of people. He said, well sometimes you just forget to be careful!! I told him you can never be too careful and Im tired of him bringing sickness into this house. Reminded him that last year, when I was getting chemo, he was very careful. An insisted he still be like that. Wash his hands, stop hugging and kissing strangers in a pub during flu season. I mean thats common sense isnt it?

Ok! Thats enough whining about this cold he has. I had my flu shot a little over 2 weeks ago, so I know that will protect me and Im washing my hands constantly. And NO KISSING.

Tgirl: Good football weather indeed. Do the Eagles have a buy this week? If not, who are they playing.

Pauline, I hope your feeling better this morning. Do you have a cast on? Here in the USA we recently celebrated Halloween. I read an article about spiders. The tiny ones will make webs in a funnel like form. But the big I call them "Banana" spiders. They are the ones who weave their webs in beautiful designs in a circle form. Well there were 2 webs right outside my front window. They go away during the day and come back at night. I started peaking at them every evening. And man - they are big. Glad they are outside and Im inside. Today I will be cleaning up in the yard. Getting rid of my summer flowers that are no longer thriving cause of the frost each morning. And Ill be getting rid of the spider webs too. Why am I brave? Cause the spiders arnt there during the day lol.

Tracey: OH my, more snow? How much snow do you average where you live? I dread the first "real" snow storm. Here in Chicago people drive crazy to begin with. But the first snow storm - well you feel like your in a battle ground of people driving.

Debbyfive: Its hard to figure out what is going on, cause I dont think you have enough information. First of all what kind of virus do you have in your heart? The specific name. Are they using any terms like Endocarditis or cardiac myopathy? Yes when there are problems with the heart, it can trigger irregularies. Do you have an irregular heart beat. And if you do what kind? Atrial Fib, PVC? Now with the thyroid. Is it making you hypothyroid or hyperthyroid? What kind of surgery are planning to do on the thyroid and why are you having to wait so long? If I were you, I would ask for a copy of your medical records. And still think about a second opinion. The fatigue can be related to many things. If your hypothyroid you will feel fatigued. The heart virus can cause fatigue cause you body is trying to fight it in its natural ways. Sorry I dont have more advice, but its hard to try and figure out what is going on. Not enough information. Im just hoping you start feeling better soon and they address the thyroid and heart issues. The doctors dont seem too concerned about the cancer question. So maybe they think its slow growing? Anyways good luck to you.

Jeanette: Im so glad you didnt have to have the root canal and that you are at home celebrating. I see my dentist Thursday. She is gonna glue my crown back on, but her plan is after the 1st of the year to pull the 2 teeth and do a bridge! There just isnt enough tooth to hold the crowns on. Sounds like a big hassle to me, so Im glad I can wait until after the 1st of the year to deal with this. Im hoping to enjoy the Holidays this year without being sick or recovering from something. Aboriginal sounds funny. Like its from Australia or something.

Lynn: Ok I understand chinook. Now do you ever get blasted with large snow falls cause of the warm and cold weather meeting? Our biggest snow falls here in Chicago are related to warm and cold fronts colliding. And then there is the awful "Lake effect snow."

NS: you go girl. So your letter was printed in the news paper. Thats great. But when will the water situation be fixed? I cant believe it is taking this long!

Lini: What a great song. So glad to see you back. Have missed you so much.

Cheryl: Sounds like you had a wonderful day. One of my favorite things is being able to sleep in, even if sleeping in means all day.

Robin: How are things going this week-end. I hope everything is ok. Geez, it seems like only yesterday you found out you needed more chemo and now your close to the end. Keep that fighting spirit gal.

Yes, posting on this thread has been slow for a while. It may or may not be related to the number of pages. There are other threads with lots of pages not having issues. I would hate to see us lose some of the earlier pages. We have the quilt of stars with all our names on it from susan. We have a great picture somewhere of my horse "Distored Humor." But its definitely frustrating. I dont write long posts anymore. I write one thing then edit, then another thing, then edit. It seems to be working. At least for today.

Oh and speaking of Susan! Where are you?
Well its gonna be an exciting day. Me and Distored Humor will be riding to Kentucky to watch the Breeders Cup. So I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday.

LOL...it was White Christmas (one of my favorite all-times) and it was Rosemary Clooney & Vera-Ellen...(or Carrie & Denise?!)

    Sisters

    Sisters, sisters,
There were never such devoted sisters.
Never had to have a chaperone, no sir.
I'm here to keep my eye on her.

    Caring, sharing
Every little thing that we are wearing.
When a certain gentleman arrived from Rome,
She wore the dress and I stayed home.

All kinds of weather, we stick together,
the same in the rain or sun.
Two different faces, but in tight places
we think and we act as one. Uh-huh!

    Those who've seen us
know that not a thing can come between us.
Many men have tried to split us up, but no one can.
Lord help the mister who comes between me and my sister,
and Lord help the sister that comes between me and my man.

    Don't you come
    between me and my man!

Since this is Friday, and Beasts like to haunt us on the weekends, I have brought up some reinforcements for the next couple of days. This is a specialist, as it were.....
