Vickie, I have horrible veins so I hear what you're saying. Make sure you're good and hydrated. Also, ask them to use a heating pad on your arm to help the vein expand. We would do this at the chemo clinic I worked in for some of the people who we couldn't find a vein. You've got alot going on tomorrow. We'll ride in with you and be there for you.

NS, girl I am impressed. There is no way I could have brought Shel up to date!

    Hugs

Hi all, I'm back. I took some time off. I went shopping (had a great time) AND I got some permanent eye makeup!!!!! It was a little painful but if you've gone through what we we have---what's a little pain. I look pretty dramatic now. I'll post before and after pictures. Right now I'm still healing.

    I figured out a name for Robin's DH....Ready....BUTTCRACK!

I start my doctor appts this week re: ovarian cysts and rib pain. Now that I've calmed down I'm thinking it's nothing much. Thanks for all the good thoughts!!

    Good evening circle girls.

My hubby and I just came back from a moonlit walk through the field. It is COLD, but the sun was setting and the moon rising...beautiful. We flushed a mama moose and her baby out wood at the edge of the field. They blew big steamy puffs of breath as they trotted across the field. We came back chilled but happy.

I made a big pot of hot chocolate and left a almost full bottle of kaluha by the fire...help yourself.

    Hugs and prayers to all...
    Deb C.

PS...anyone interested in a snail-mail holiday card exchange?? I would collect addresses and send out a list if anyone is interested.

Deb---count me in---what a GREAT idea! Glad you're feeling better too.

Vickie---tomorrow will be a cinch between the blood draw hints and all the warm fuzzy support you got from all of us on the genetic counseling. The initial visit is really a conversation and they may even recommend that you don't need it. I did but it came back negative, as 85% (if I remember correctly) do.

Shel--you really need to fill us in a little more on the young hottie! Some of us really enjoy a little vicarious living! (OK---all of us!)

spent the weekend down at my daughter's. The last in the shower marathon and we met with the doula today. Only 3 weeks until her due date. I'll say one thing----having a baby is sure different from when my kids were born! Well, it's the same as it has always been but the routine that surrounds it has sure changed.

Too tired to take notes but you all know you're in my prayers.

    Deb count me in!
Glad the moose were happy to move along and not bother you as they are so huge!

Shel, Wish I could get a tan! Glad you had a good time except for the cold, we're with you as you start your rounds.

Got my big soft blanket I wanted for my birthday, which isn't until tomorrow. I think the hubby thought I was crazy when I said I wanted a big soft blanket. Think is I could never afford a good one so I always had scratchy ones that I can't stand. The nice thing about this one is it wasn't expensive it was only $37 at Walmart but I love it!
Tomorrow he'll take me out to dinner too! wow I think I'm getting spoiled!

We still have lots of rain on this end and they say we'll get another 2-6" in the next day or two. So they are prediciting the 100 year flood plans to be in effect this week. Glad it shouldn't affect me but it will my daughter as there is only one road out, that always floods, from where she lives, so they are stocking up tonight.
At least it warmed up so it won't be snow!

ohoh I went throgh another bag of M&M's!
    I think I'm hooked!

It did clear up for a little while last night and I just sat and watched the clouds race past the moon. It was so pretty while it lasted.

Hope everyone has a good week, I already sent my votes in by mail so I wont have to brave the rain for that!

    Hugs & prayers

NS---I just read your recap post. You are NOT a well woman----why I find your posts so funny!

I forgot---I should have the results from the last blood draw back tomorrow---hopefully. That's the one for the elevated calcium. See how blase' I'm getting about this stuff? I'm not even obsessing---except in the middle of the night when no one is looking!

Old marshmallow teeth has to go to the dentist tomorrow too (that would be me). Wonder how many thousands of $ it will cost me this time?

The last time I went to the dentist they said I need surgery to fix the two broken teeth,(the ones that had root canals done but no crowns cause I couldn't afford them) and said it was about $5000. I said no thanks and haven't been back since!

Good Morning everyone! Looks like the Chicago end of the circle is gonna have a short heat wave before winter blasts us away. Gonna be in the 50's and 60's til the week-end. Man, right when you think your ready for winter, mother nature likes to play tricks.

Im not complaining though. Gonna enjoy it while I can.

Day 4 of husband getting another cold, and still symptom free. Do ya think maybe I can slip by this without catching it? Although yesterday I felt sick! I think it was depression from the blow out the Bears had with Miami. Im still disgusted about it. No turn overs and we would have won the game. Instead they got 28 points - all off of our turnovers!! It was a disappointing day. Couldnt even eat dinner!

Jasmine: So good to see you again. I have been thinking about you, but thought maybe you flew south for the winter like the birds. As you can see, I had lots of time Saturday morning and took a walk through memory lane in our wagon circle. It was fun, and there are so many great posts and even greater pictures.

Shel: Wow! It amazes me how quickly one can become divorced. Even being noncontested. Its just like wham bam thank you mam. But I guess in a way, its good. You can truelly move on now. The only one who ever says anything to me about a tan is my PS. I think yours and mine are so much alike. And whats wrong with a tan anyways? As long as you not sitting out there baking your body for hours. A tan is our bodies natural way of protecting itself. Ok, do ya think that statement will go over with the PS? lol

NS: you truelly amaze me. The recap was great. I think you covered things pretty darn well. And yes, I have the Breeders Cup trophy in my tent - although Distored Humor keeps asking for more apples. Feels he deserves something for the award.

Vickie: Sure Ill go with you for the genetic counselling. I actually found it very interesting. As far as blood tests and bad veins. Make sure you are hydrated. Drink lots of water. Make the veins more visable and less likely to collapse. And no more that 3 sticks! Thats an unwritten rule. Actually, I try one time. If I cant get it the first time I get someone else. You will do just fine, so dont worry and of course we will all be with you. If they dont get it on the first stick, you just imagine me slapping the girls hand!! I sure do understand the thing about work. Come in late for this, take off early for that. I have always been an over achiever! Now that I have a nice easy, flexible job, I whine cause its not challenging enough! But here at this job is where I will stay. Its time for me to not be stressed out anymore.

Liz: What can I say lol. Great minds think alike. No wonder we are a team in the medic wagon!

Tracey: great pictures. I cant wait for more! I wish I knew how to post pictures. Even the simplest of instructions dont work for me. Im so computer illiterate. Its amazing I even found this site! Last week is gone so kiss the bad emotions good bye. Its a new week, a new day, so go on out there with a smile on your face. I have an Irish poem for you.

May those that love us, love us

And those that don't love us

    May God turn their hearts;

And if he doesn't turn their hearts,

    May he turn their ankles

    So we'll know them by

    Their limping.

Susan: Glad you had fun shopping. Permanent makeup? I have been thinking about getting my eyebrows done. They have never been the same since I was a teenager. Decided they were too thick and shaved them off. They never grew back the same. And then after chemo, they grew back but just like they were before chemo. OK so the doctor appointments are here, finially. Im sure its nothing also, but glad you are getting it checked out. When do we saddle up and ride with you? Im so glad you found the poster and added new names to it. Its just too good to lose it.

DebC: I love you stories. I cant imagine going for a walk with my husband and finding a moose with a baby moose!! I dont know why, but when I think of a moose, I think of the Bulwinkle and Rocky show lol. The Christmas card idea sounds great.

Jeannie: Oh how exciting. 3 more weeks until your a grand ma. The best Thanks Giving present anyone could receive.

Cheryl: Happy Birthday gal. Sounds like your enjoying it. A nice warm soft fuzzy blanket sounds wonderful.

Well, time flies by when your having fun. Gotta get ready for my shower and then off to work. Someone asked about how I shot my dentist? I didnt use a gun. I borrowed poison blow darts from the natives. It worked great!!

Coffee is on, enjoy your morning.

Im in the Irish Mood today - so I leave you with an Irish Blessing.

May there always be work of your hands to do

May your purse always hold a coin or two

May the sun always shine on your windowpane

May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain

May the hand of a friend always be near you

May God fill your heart with Gladness to cheer you.

    Good Morning CG

OK, I am trying to catch up, loved the updating NS.
Had a little run in with diverticulitis this weekend. NOT fun. Was driving my son to his orthodontist appt and got hit with severe abd pain that caused a cold sweat, etc. Pulled over and called my DH who came by and took him on while I went to emerg! Feeling much better now. On antibiotics (man I hate taking meds), sure hope none of them interfere with tamoxifen.

Cheryl, HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Glad you're being treated as you deserve! Is that one of those Vellux blankets? They are so soft and warm. It must be wonderful to have the end in site for those shots. Have a wonderful day.

Nicki, thanks for the Irish poems. They have one for every occasion I think and those were very nice. Glad you're avoiding the cold. Keep that hubby at a distance for now!

Vickie, I echo what these other ladies said. Drink lots! Dehydration, even mild, makes it much harder to find veins. We are only allowed two pokes per nurse, but usually if I miss the first time I put a warm blanket around both arms for 5 minutes or so and then check again. If I don't see anything that looks like a good choice to me I'll call in reinforcements then. Blind poking is no good! Good luck this morning. I'm there with you too.

Jeannie, how exciting being a Grandma soon! Hope her Doula has common sense too and is a great support to her. I'll keep you in my prayers for the dentist today, but I don't go there unless I absolutely have to! Big chicken me.

Susan, was permanent makeup painful? It must be tricky working around the eyes. Looking forward to seeing your pics. The star pic was very nice to see. Thank you. Sending good thoughts out for your ovarian cysts and rib pain that they are nothing to concern.

DebC, I love your stories. Moose are incredible animals, how neat to have them around like that. The card idea sounds good to me too.

Shel, you sound much more relaxed. Must be the new hottie, lol. Where in Canada are you? I don't think there's anywhere in Canada today that you can be working on that tan, but glad you've got it now.

It is cloudy here but we have a wonderful Chinook blowing through and it's going to get up to about 60-64F today! Gonna be windy though, 30 mph with gusts to 50mph!

Tracey are you getting more snow in your neck of the woods, or some of that rain like Washington and Southwestern BC? With your husband out on account of his back, don't need you out shovelling too much. Hope your week goes better.

Ciao for now ladies, off for a hot bath to relax my gut.

Nicki/Shel re tans: I've been thinking about going to a tanning booth. I can't stay in very long (about 10 minutes). I just feel better and look better when I have a little color. Does it really help with vitamin D deficiency? Other than skin cancer what are harmful side effects? I'd like to join you girls.

Shel we all want to know more about the young hottie. Please!!

Newvickie, when is your appointment? I'm going along. Oh it's today. I'm going.

Cheryl, I don't know what a lovenox shot is but I'm also glad you are almost done with them. And have a great birthday. Sounds like you got that under control.

Lynn/Nicki re: permanent eye makeup. The eyebrows were more painful than the eyeliner. I was expecting it to be painful while they were applying the tatoos but I didn't know it would still hurt the next day. It did. Of course, according to my DH I'm a real princess and the pea type. It's been 4 days. I'm starting to get used to it. It's a pretty dramatic look for me. I don't usually wear makeup. My eyes are still a little crusty. It's pretty normal I think after about a week.

Ok today my rib pain is on the OTHER SIDE. so I guess that means it's not mets. I wish I knew what it was. It's pretty sore. Like I really ran into something. Last week it was the other (right) side. I guess that's why we have doctors.

Jeannie sounds like the baby-to-be is keeping you busy.
    I also have marshmallow teeth.

Tracey that looks like a great animation site. where is it?

Jeannette are you still having gall bladder surgery?

Nicki, I liked the irish blessing.

    Good Morning Camping girls,
Wonderful weekend on my end of the circle with nice weather in the upper 60's during the day. Was able to get alot of clearing done in the woods for the future home. I cant wait to live on my farm. I still have alot more to do by cutting the drive way in but making lots of progress. Bought a new chain saw after sears could not repair my craftsman and went with a Stihl. Its a great chainsaw and should have bought it to began with. It sure would have helped my blood pressure not having to deal with the craftsman. Oh well, live and learn.

NS thanks for the recap,,wow is all i can say. Excellent job.

Those of you that asked for pictures of the new baby puppy I am still slacking and not got around to it. She has already grown some so I need to the them posted. I do have one on my phone so might try to upload it to give you an idea of how cute she is.

67 post since I checked in on Friday afternoon. Thats alot.

Mena, glad you are feeling better and we have to kick this cancer butt together so hang in there with me.

Robin, cant wait to hear that you are signing your divorce papers like Shel. We will have to have a big party.

Shel congrats on the divorce and do tell about the young neighbor. We like juicy stories around the campfire. Glad you had a good time on your trip and it sounds like it was just what you needed.

Susan-the stars are wonderful. Creative arent ya? I love it.

Deb count me in on the snail me,,want me to pm you my address or how you wanna handle it?

Lynn-sorry about your weekend sickness and hope you are feeling better now.

vickie-i have awful veins also and had a port the first time I had chemo but trying not to have to have one now. I try to drink lots (water that is) the day before. I always tell the nurses before they stick me also that my veins arent good so they dont go in blind.

Jeannie-Congrats on becoming a grandma soon. I know you are excited.

Cheryl-happy birthday to you,,happy birthday to you,,happy birthday dear cheryllllllll happy birthday to youuuuuuuuu!

Chemosabi-hoping you dont catch your hubbys cold. Man that would really suck.

Well, i know i have missed so many as i didnt take notes and just trying to jump in here at work and make a quick post.

Gonna be 70 here in Alabama today so anybody that is tired of the cold,,,come on down!

woo hoo Robin...way to go! That is such wonderful news. Just think, before you know it you'll be able to kick his butt to the curb all by yourself.
Thanks to all for the tips on the blood work. I actually took the advice and they filled a vial today with one stick!! I then went to the genetic counselors and am more confused now than ever. They went over my family history (of which there is none), my pathology report, etc etc etc...and when they "plugged" all the info into their computer it came up with a 1% chance that I would be BRCA positive. SOOOO...to make a long story short...it's up to me...test or no test. But chances are my insurance won't cover the cost (3,000)and I can't afford that. I wish I knew what to do for sure...
back to burying my head in the sand.
