TIME TO CIRCLE THE WAGONS GIRLS

Hi Girls,
i am sorry I didn't check in-
i have been kind of busy and was hiding in the medic tent.
Laura- you have to have another core bx? I am so sorry. I have had three since dx and they all came out ok. They have to check everything now. Come sit close by fire in the inner circle. Glad to have you here!
Welcome to Coleen too!
Cheryl, did I miss your birthday?? I am SORRY!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRLFRIEND!
Debc- if your vertigo doesn't go away you may have something from the cytoxan that I got, it is called menieres and it causes a lot of vertigo. if it persists let me know and I will tell you how you treat it.
I didn't take notes but I was reading up... Nicki are you being pestered again??? Don't these rockdwellers have lives??
Forget them. I have to go see what has happened but remember that you are the most positive refreshing wonderful prescence on this site and people like that tend to be eaten alive by the green monster.
Susan I am glad things are looking up for you.
I still have more and more tests and I am not in the mood for it. Not in the mood for today's rain. Not in the mood for the pile of work I have on my desk and if you think I am in the mood for the pile of leaves out in my yard??? NO WAY!!
I need grumpy food!
Love,g0 -
Vicki glad he didn't get elected. But I think between you and Shel and Robin we could write a heck of a book.
Colleen do you have a star yet. I'll check.
Hi Laura, glad you stopped by to visit. You can rest in the SPA tent if you want while you get a massage or in the Dessert tent. Always good stuff to eat. Lots of hugs and prayers for you while you have to wait. I'll add a star for you tomorrow.
As for me, I'll post about it tomorrow. I'm confused and frustrated needing information etc. tired and going to bed. I guess I'll ask Mazer to ride the circle tonite!!! She'll be up for it Amy, right??
would love a real roundup
xo
Susan0 -
NS, thank you for the birthday wishes.
This years birthday has been the best thanks to all you gals.
Although I'm going to get really fat eating all this cake!0 -
g-
Let's see...grumpy food...When I am grumpy I want lots to chose from. I'll set up a table by the fire. I have nachos with sourcream and salsa on the side. I just got brownies made with cream cheese swirls out of the oven...they are kind of like brownies with cheesecake swirls. There is icecream to go with the brownies. I opened a good box of my see's candy that I usually hide behind the beans in the pantry. There are also some good honey crisp apples for those of you who feel like something crunchy and good for you...oh, and carmel dip for the apples if you want something NOT as good for you.
Dig in ladies...virtual food is guilt free I'm sure G will share...even if she is grumpy
Hugs0 -
Hey Susan-
Big hugs girlfriend. Sounds like you had a rough day. We will be here tomorrow. Get some rest.
Deb C.0 -
Vickie, that's the best news I've heard all day!
I'm tired tonight so am settling down to watch Dancing with the Stars. Night all.
Margaret0 -
Deb,
The cyber food may not be filling, but you inspired me to start cooking - and then I eat what I cook So tonite I went to make oatmeal raisin cookies - with some caramel chipits and couldn't find any oatmeal (the rest of the stuff was already in the bowl). So experiment time - used whole grain cereal, crushed up, instead. Yummy. Now I over did on the calories. Oh well, I feel good.
Jeannie, I am so sorry the RC bug went your way. You should pray for quick healing and maybe you can get a reprieve. You have had enough the last couple of months.
Niki, a sweat lodge is a sacred American Indian/Canadian Aboriginal ceremony used for healing mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. I can attest to its healing powers. I go frequently because I have been blest with knowing some Aboriginal people who have welcomed me. I feel quite lucky. Actually that is the first place I went for healing after I got my diagnosis.
I am beginning to think that among all of us we have quite a few "you wouldn't believe it" stories.Yes Vicki, think about a book. Now that Shel has her groove back she could add a chapter or two. And we will send Mazer and family for some extra hoots.
Meanwhile here where the mountains meet the prairies it is cold and snowy. Winter came early this year. I hope that it won't be too harsh. I do not like this long winter season here. But then when I think of our endless summer nights I am consolled - a bit.
I'm rambling. But it's good to be here. I shall put a couple of extra logs by the fire so if anyone is up late they can shore it up so we can be toasty warm with the sun rise.

Good Morning Everyone: I have accepted the fact that I am truly crazy! Could have slept in. But alas, here I am, awake and drinking coffee. Who needs an alarm clock?
Feels funny having a Spring like day. Temp were in the 70's yesterday. What a great day and it was so sunny I needed my sun glasses. This morning is nice. Its quiet and the sky is filled with stars. And I know all of you are resting well - I can hear the snoring. Interesting sound it is, in this forest our wagons are surrounded by. The snoring sort of echoes!
Colleen: Thanks for the kind words. I am so glad you came to the circle. We have so much fun and good food too.
Vickie: "I do believe, I do believe, its silly but I believe!" Love that statement from Miracle on 34th Street. So the bum nots a judge. There is justice afterall.
Cheryl: Your a star lol and you didnt even know it!
Lynn: Im laughing so hard. Do you work the night shift? You might be up before me, but here I am, once again. First early morning post.
Laura: OMG Im so glad you found us. We have a wonderful spa tent that I recommend you come visit. Nice music, manicures and pedicures, and great massages. Get your mind off things for a while. We also have a tent just to vent our feelings. Lots of punching bags, dart boards. Its great for stress management. We will keep you in the middle of the circle. Help you through this waiting time, and when you have your biopsy the whole gang will be there with you. Just let us know what day its scheduled. I am always up early so I will walk through the circle and wake everyone up. Get on our horses and ride with the wind blowing in our faces.
Cheryl (cthompson) A fever of 102? Yikes! And a swollen gland? Sounds like you are fighting off some infection. Dont push yourself. If your not feeling well today, you should call the doctor. Maybe you need an antibiotic. We are a strong bunch arnt we? Push - push - push. Wont stand for anything slowing us down. I think you should go right to the medic tent. Tylenol for the fever. Some warm tea or chicken broth sounds in order. Does the gland hurt? And I know this sounds like a broken record, but drink lots and lots of water. With a fever you can get dehydrated quickly. Hope your feeling better this morning.
Jeannie: Im scratching my head as about the Calcium levels being elevated. Has the onc said what that might mean? I really believe we all have our own "normal" values. After 4 rounds of CA15-3 all being above normal slightly, my onc and I have decided thats my normal! And whats really weird is my older sister who also is recovering from BC, well her tumor markers are just like mine. Hmmmm - its a family thing. So Im hoping all is going well. And a root canal to boot? What is this - root canal season?
NS: Hiding in the medic tent? Wow, you must have really been hiding cause I surely didnt see you there. So what is going on with you? And how is the water situation? And by the way, yes - if you miss a day - we all know it. Your the strength to the circle. Keeping us strong and happy. I hope your feeling better today.
Susan: Hoping after a good nights sleep, your feeling better and less confused. Confusion? Now confusion I understand since my location on my avatar is the confused couch. One more day the the x-ray right? Let us now what time its scheduled. My horse Distorted Humor is getting fat. He has been laying around all week. Needs a good run for his money. You should see him with Amy's donkey - Mazer the Tazer - they are best friends now.
DebC: OMG - Im sitting here stuffing my mouth with all of this grumpy food. The brownies, especially with the cream cheese swirls! Oh yummy.
Margaret: Hope you enjoyed Dancing with the Stars. I watched this show called Jericho. Quite interesting. About people surviving after nuclear bombs hit all our big cities. Im hooked!
Jeannette: Oh we need a "sweat lodge" wigwam here. A place for healing? This sounds wonderful.
Well, today is the day. For those of you who remember my dentist story. Well my appointment is this morning. Gonna have my crown glued back on and then my teeth cleaned. Her receptionist left another nasty message on my cell phone voice mail. "You must call us back to confirm this appointment or we will give it to someone who really needs it." Now whats that about!! There is no room in health care for a whipper snapper who is mean! Showdown time! When this dentist first graduated from dental school I set her up and office in the Retirement community I was working for. Gave her an automatic 300 potentially new patients. In the beginning there were many times I had an appointment and she would be an hour late coming to the office or didnt show up. Now her practice is booming and Im gonna remind her of who she was a few years ago. So, this is my plan. Im gonna wait til everything is done and then Im gonna talk to the dentist about this receptionist. Also gonna find out if this goofy girl is being her scapegoat. Either way, Im gonna have a mouthful of words to tell her. There is no room for cruelty in health care. NONE! Last time I cried. This time Im angry. Now either Im gonna get an apology from this receptionist and dentist or its gonna be bye bye chiquitta.
Well, lookie here, Ive talked to everyone and still have time to exercise! But before I go, I have to tell ya, this morning - well its a beautiful sunrise. The horizon is a bright pink. Looks like maybe another good day until mother nature finds out and brings this part of the circle back to winter.
So I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Good Morning Circle,
Yep, you beat me to the post Nicki. I am working night shift and it was very busy to start. Lots of babies trying to come into the world early! We had to send one to a tertiary center and the others are holding their own. So while you were typing, I was snoozing on a break. Maybe tomorrow morning I will time it better. I am on mountain time and so an hour behind you. I will ride with you to this dentist appt (and I hate dentists) and back you up to get that apology. You go girl.
OMG Deb, you make my mouth water. Those are my favourite kind of brownie, and since I am PMSing I will eat it all!
Jeannie, hope your mouth isn't too sore. RCs are nasty business in my book.
Jeannette, you are lucky to be able to share the healing lodge. Hope you aren't sending the nasty weather down my way. I get to visit my daughters in Calgary this weekend while my son attends a speed skating camp at the Oval. Hope the weather is good. What kind of whole grain cereal did you use in the cookies? It sounds good, like a granola bar.
Susan, hugs and prayers for you.
NS, good to see you back. Hope you're feeling better.
Am probably missing some, but must get back to work. Have a glorious day everyone.
Lynn0 -
Jeannie: Oh the the light bulb just went on in my crazy brain. My sister had elevated Calcium levels. Hers was from the parathyroid not working properly. Have they checked this out for you?
Nicki0 -
Nicki--
That's what we're waiting on. The PTH Intact (parathyroid hormone) was normal but the PTH Peptide (tests a particular fractionated part of the hormone?) will take another 2 weeks to come back. The elevated levels happened once before (last August) but the difference is they came down as soon as I stopped the supplements---this time they haven't. I'm guessing this is just part of what's normal for me---like my body temp is always one degree low---97.6.
What did they do to treat your sister?
And good luck with the dentist. I've managed staff in the past and it's a headache if you have the wrong people. For all you know the dentist could have no clue she has a witch with a B in front as her first contact with patients. Although I must say if she isn't showing up on occassion that her own behavior isn't all that professional. She could have established an office culture that subconsciously condones that sort of thing.
Jeannie0 -
good morning ladies.
wow i missed coming last night and lots of posts and things happening!
welcome to the new girls.
i didnt really take notes either as i am at work... ugh

Hi Everyone!
Thanks for the welcomes! OK, I don't know what you're talking about with the stars. I read back a bit, so I know that Cheryl was looking for her star, and then got one, but I see no stars. (Don't worry, I know it's me, very lacking in all things technical!) I have figured out that an "avatar" is the box that says your name though! I'm going to get my fiance to help me get my picture in there!
So this place is very cool. A little embarrassing for me that I thought you really had ALL that food on hand Deb. I'm lucky if I have a bag of pretzels and dip at the same time! LOL (And maybe you really did, I'm still trying to figure things out!)
Anyway, good morning to everyone, and I hope everyone has a great day. I will keep reading here, and I'm sure I'll get the hang of it...
Stay warm and snuggly today!0 -
Lynn,
Guess you are from down south of us - where it is still warmer than here.
The Lodge is open to all. there are sweats on Saturday and Sunday this weekend.
If you are ever interested give me shout via PM for info, directions, and perhaps to meet ahead of time.
BTW, at one of the lodges there is a group of 12 handicapped children from Alberta Children's Hospital going to sweat this week. Now isn't that amazing! We had a young man who is a paraplegic join us last Sunday. It is truly amazing the number of people with addictions or emotional issues who also come for healing.
Enough of my rambling. Guess everyone will get to know lots more about sweats here, and also learn that there are many ways of getting to one. It's not an exclusive club.
Jeannette0 -
OK, here is a link to a more complete description of a sweat lodge. It's trustworthy info from an Aboriginal web site.

Hey Colleen-
Hang in there! You will begin to understand all of our sillyness Did you ever "play pretend" as a little girl? If so, just remember how much fun all that was and you will fit right in The scary part is that we DID have about half that food here at my house last night!! I really had just taken the brownies out of the oven...yum
Hugs to all
Deb C.0 -
Deb,
Where'd you get the See's from? Do they have it up in Alaska now? That is the one thing that my mom always takes up to Anchorage with her when she visits her sister. See's Candy, Yummy!!0 -
Afternoon girls, sneaking in from work for a moment.
Vicki...Yes there is a God and she's a WOMAN!!! Isn't it great that he thought he was king of the world and then NOTHING the next day!!
Cheryl...sorry you're not feeling well. Nice hot cup of tea with lemon or honey in my tent if you need it.
Deb... I had a cousin in from out of town last minute. I took a white cake box mix and added 1 can of pure pumpkin and chocolate chips and a little water and baked. It was great.
Niki...go get them!!
I'll be out of town again this weekend. Wedding outside of Boston so I may not be online until Monday. Still waiting for my computer to be fixed.
Mena...where are you!!!
xoxo0 -
Good Morning to all!
Weather is wonderful on my end of the circle. Going to be a sunny 78 degree day. It's a bit too warm for me but I guess we take what we can get. It should be nice tomorrow also and its a vacation day so going to enjoy the long weekend and hope to get lots done around the farm. Dad is bringing the backhoe (tractor) out so will have some help. Getting prices on a septic tank, running water and all that good stuff. I have been bringing water for my animals in a 50 gallon drum and I have a generator so will be nice to get water ran out there. By the way, chemosabi, I hope Distorted Humor is behaving because a horse and a donkey makes a mule,,,yikes! Mazer is too young for that stuff so we should be good for a while. I do have Lucy the donkey that is getting nice and round and I recently bought her from a bad situation so wondering if she is pregnant. They carry their babies for a year so will be a while before I find out. I thought 9 months was a long time!
Welcome to the wagon train all the new people. We are a pretty good group of girls here if I say so myself. Pull up your wagon, prop your feet up and enjoy the fire. We have lots of good stories, lots of love and cant forget the food.
Speaking of food I have a 7 layer mexican dip I just pulled out of the oven so dig in.
The sweatlodge link is very interesting. I have heard of them but never been to one.
Xeloda is kicking my butt this time or better yet killing my fingers. They have peeled prior to this but this time they have cracked and really starting to hurt. I know lotion and more lotion and always wear gloves. I work too much with my hands to let it get to me though.
As far as the house, its not a super small house. It will be about 2000 square feet. Not too big but not too small. Will also have a loft area. I only have one son and my SO so plenty big for us. No doubt it will be an ongoing project. I dont think housework is ever done is it?
O.k. Mazer did her job last night since Susan turned in early and I do hope you got plenty of rest. She ran around the circle more than once and scared away any coyote that would have even thought of getting close and then she came back to have a few teddy grahams as a night time snick snack. Peanut Annie Oakley tried to keep up but her little legs just couldnt make it. She had her own wagon though and I pulled her around as she barked and carried on. I know, I know,,I will get some pictures maybe this weekend.
O.k. I have rambled on but great to see NS peeking out of the medic tent for a while. Its just not the same without your daily post.
I will be back by later but dig in to the dip while its nice and warm. Fresh tortilla chips are nearby so help yourself.
Man I drank too much last night so going to behave tonight.
Amy0 -
afternoon all...welcome to al the new commers what a lovely circle of friends we have...
Alaskadeb... WHAT know one told me we were pretending...hmmmpfh...well here i thought I had a bunch of really wonderful new friends who cook lots of fat free food and keep me warm at night...lol...
Nicki...you are correct no one should be treated like a second class person, especially when you are paying the bill....go get them...
Jeanette, i actually knew what a sweat lodge was but the closest thing i have is the gym 2 nights a week,,,lol...
Amy, passing you the aspirin bottle , because wine at the spa tonight is a must...lol
Laura always wanted to know if the GTO was a car?....<<, hot rod buff myself...lol
Ok circle girls....time to get up and excersise...ready go...25 jumping jacks, a few push ups..and of course some sit ups...no goofing off...besides if Deb keeps cooking we'll all be needing the excersise program
Dinner tonight....Cajun Chicken salads, or Mandarin chicken salad... fat free cake,,,which is really good topped with fat free whipped cream and fresh..oops wrong season...frozen fruit...lol...
Must go back to work....love all...even if we are pretend ....MB0 -
Only the food is pretend
all the love is real...isn't that the greatest thing!
I read all about the sweat lodge...oh I wish I could go...it sounds so wonderful!
Glad to see NS peeking back out...where is Peggy? Hiding again?
Ummm...MB...I'd look pretty silly doing jumping jacks in my office! I was actually sitting here with my feet up on my desk eating homemade vanilla ice cream as I was reading your post! Guilty!!!
Theresa...I was so incredibly happy last night...poor Nathaniel thought I'd lost my mind when I found out he hadn't won after all! I was literally jumping up and down...everyone called me and kept say "yippee" the paper made a mistake! I would have loved to have seen the look on his face!!!
Vera...where are you? I see your humor posts...love them all...you always make me laugh. How are the hats coming? I think I may try to post a few pictures of mine here and offer to mail them to anyone who needs some...and pray I don't get overwhelmed with orders LOL!
Mena...how are you?
Susan...any results...praying and worrying here.
Missing a bunch of you...but...back to work. My boss is already mad at me so I'd better be a bit more productive!
Hugs all
Vickie0 -
Well shoot. Typed up a novel and clicked the wrong button. Oops.
Howdy girls. Back from Sacramento with birthday cake and ice cream. And the cutest pair of new shoes. You all can borrow them after my cruise. Beyond that was a wasted trip. Had appt with bone doc. Got there only to find out stupid lab here in town did not send her results of latest blood work. Grrrrrrrrr They sent them to my onc instead. Like he wants the damn things. Lesson learned. Next time I make the drive and get the tests done in Sac. Which will be a royal pain cause as of January my daughter won't be living there anymore. O well. It will give me a chance to go shopping.
Not even gonna try to catch up. Just know I have missed you all. Welcome to anyone new to the circle.0 -
And a very good evening to all! I had an absolutely wonderful day. It was a gorgeous sunny day and in the 70's here in the Chicagoland of the circle. I drove around with my top down and was feeling like "Im on top of the world mom."
So obviously the dentist appointment went great. She saw me and starting crying and hugging me. I never had to say anything. Her receptionist is still not a nice person, but I figure people come and go and she wont be around long. She glued my crown on, said if it comes lose again I will need a bridge. Then got my teeth cleaned by there new and very nice dental hygienist. So, sometimes I think I internalize things too much - did I make the situation bigger than it was? All I know is I feeling happy tonight.
Tracey: Are you premenopausal? When I was, I would get really sick. Terrible cramps and it lasted much longer. The flow was pretty bad - good reason to keep buying new panties. Anyways, forget the Midol. Ibuprofen is the best for cramps. 400-600mg of Motrin or its generic and it will really help. Alieve is the best. Thats longer acting so you have to read the directions. Wow, it amazes me, cause now I dont have to deal with that anymore. Started at 12 and stopped at 47. No more, I dont feel well cause my friend is coming. Anyways, I hope you feel better.
Colleen: You made me smile. Im so glad you found the wagon circle. There is a poster of stars and each star has our name thank you very much to Susan. Anyways, its a great place to come to. Always someone there to help, comfort, or make you laugh.
Jeanette: Oh the "sweat" sounds so heart warming. We need a sweat wigwam. A great place to go. Clean the heart and soul. Get encouragement and motivation. And healing. I just love it.
DebC: A loving home with good food. What could be better? I want those brownies. For sale or exchange! One half border collie, half black lab, all monster puppy for brownies. Seems like a fair deal to me lol.
Lini: What the heck are "sees" I need a description. I want to know what I am missing.
Tgirl: Have fun this week-end. The wedding sounds like fun. I went to Boston once. Loved it. We will miss you this week-end, but will be looking forward to hearing about how much fun you had. Hope the Eagles do well! They deserve a lucky break. When I was a teen-age I used to go to the Mt. Carmel games. Never saw McNabb (obviously he is much younger than me.) But true football fans stick to their high schools, colleges, and pros. So Im rooting for the Eagles unless they are playing the pathetic, disappointing, pitiful Bears.
Amy: do you ever just laugh out loud? The cats, the dog, my husband all had to come see if I am ok cause I was laughing so hard. So no wonder Distored Humor has taken a liking to Mazer the Tazer. Down boy, down boy - has to wait a while. But OMG what a fast mule we would have!!
Amy: Taxotere did a number to my hands and my feet. I lost all of my nails. They turned purple! My hands were dry, but I never had the cracks. Just sending you hugs, this chemo is so darn hard on us. And come to the medic tent 4 times a day. Liz and I will massage your hands, try and get rid of the dry skin, and put medicine on the cracks. Please ask your onc what cream would be good!!
PurpleMB: Your so cute, I can see purple sparkles coming from your eyes. They smile - your eyes. And push ups? What the heck. Hey, this girl is too old for that. Or at least, right now start with the basics - like starting to exercise.
O/T: My husband the comedian and intertainer is playing his guitar. Practicing for the week-end. So appropriate he is singing "I can tell that we are gonna be friends." By White Stripes. This is a pretty good song!
Vickie: I think I was up dancing myself when you told us the news. So my newest smoking adventure? Put 2 tiny, but noticable burns in my new car today! Man Im so upset. As of this moment I swear I will not smoke in my car. OK - now thats 2 places. I have been sticking to no smoking in the bedroom. Oh I think Im hopeless.
Shirley: OK I have chemo brain. Did miss your Birthday? Well right now the next serenade - by special attraction - Nicki's husband is serenading you. First "Take Good Care of My Baby" and now Norweigan Woods. And now he is trying to sneak in some Johnny Cash. Ahahaha, I have done the same. Write a long post then hit jump instead of save.
OK, have any of you tried to explain this thread to anyone? My husband just asked "So is the talk the elections?" I started laughing. No politics here. Then tried explaning what we have. Its hopeless. But ya know, what we have is special.
LauraGTO: One more thing. I know your in the middle of the circle, hopfully in the spa wagon. We are here for ya gal. Husband is singing "You Aint Seen Nothing Yet." Yep, when you have the core biospy, and what ever you have to deal with you show them. Your one storng cookie. (Oops I mean strong. Guess it the wine. On my third glass and feeling just fine. Sending you strength, love, and smiles.)
Oh and talking about cookies! Where is our cookie - rondab?
See ya in the morning

Used to be only in So.California, but I see it's all over now. I only indulge at Christmas. It's the kind of candy that you hide from the rest of the family. It's no share stuff.0 -
Hi ladies, had AC#3 on Tuesday. I think I am finally figuring out the best way to handle my side effects, so this time isn't too bad so far. One more to go! Then I start weekly Taxol/Herceptin.
I am tired and achy so I did not even attempt to take notes, but I am keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers!
*Hugs*

Well FINALLY! Went to the plastic surgeon's office today and actually saw the PS. He took the dressing off the nip (still need gauze/tape, etc. to keep clothes clean after 8 weeks) and he said EWWW. Not good when the PS says EEEWWW.
Upshot---he trimmed off all of the bad stuff, put four undisolvable sutures in what was left and come back next week. doesn't know if we have to do it all over again. It's back to being nibbled to death by ducks again.
And tomorrow it's back to the dentist for the second stage of the root canal. Anybody wanna buy a duck?
Has anyone heard from Susan?
Jeannie0 -
Evening girls,
Susan, Okay hon. When you're ready we're here to listen.
DebC, as usual I love eating in your wagon. My clothes are telling me I should stop though.
Margaret, So who do you think will win Dancing With the Stars?
Jeanette, a sweat lodge sounds wonderful.
Lynn, get the rest when you can.
Nicki, so glad the dentist appt. went well. Wooohooo 2 places now. Proud of ya girl.
Tracey, I do not miss my monthly friend at all.
Colleen, You'll catch on. Took me awhile also. Glad you're here with us.
Laura, Welcome to the circle. Anything you need let us know. We're ready to ride up and go to your biopsy with you.
Vickie, Oh Thank Goodness! When I read where he had won I about lost it.
Cheryl, hope you're feeling better. Come to the medic tent and we'll take care of you.
Jeannie, Darn! A root canal. Big hugs. I go for part 2 of mine on the 28th.
NS, I didn't see you in the medic tent either. Make sure you take care of yourself. I love grumpy food.
Theresa, the cookies sound great - but like you, I'd have to eat them and I'm so trying to be good.
Amy, OUCH! Your poor fingers. Make sure you take care of them. Don't want them to get infected.
MB, Pushups? LOL The other I might could do. Great dinner as always.
Peggy, where/how are you?
Mena, hope you're feeling better.
Sher, welcome home. How was the SIL's party? I agree on the grrrrrrr on the labs. Doesn't that just tick you off?
Kristen, #3 down. You're doing great!
This has been a crazy week for me. Took MIL to doc on Monday, she had surgery on Tuesday, released on Wednesday. Took FIL to doc on Wednesday and he's to have surgery on the 27th. DH is taking his sister home tomorrow and is staying at his folks until the other sister gets there tomorrow night. DH will go pick the other sister up on Sunday afternoon so she can stay with her folks.
We went today to see an old friend who is in the hospital 2 hours away. Poor guy, he was so drugged he was just talking about all kinds of things. He had back surgery last year, developed a staph infection and recovered and is now facing back surgery again.
Needless to say I am pooped. I've tried to explain to my dh and his family that they shouldn't depend on me to always be available to talk to the docs/make arrangements etc. Think it has gone in deaf ears though.
Oh forgot, went over to my mom's this evening and put a cover over her storm cellar door which is rotting. Will have that fixed after winter is over. Now all I have to do is finish getting the stuff for a baby shower I am help give on Sunday. LOL
Sorry to all those I've missed. Thinking of you always.
Hugs and Prayers

Hi ladies, just dropping in to check on everyone before I settle down for Survivor (actually, it's not me that watches it - that's my hubby) and Grey's Anatomy. hank goodness for wireless internet - I can lay in bed and still play on the computer.
Liz, it will probably be Mario who wins but I want Emmitt to win - he's just so likeable. Nicki, I'll have to check out Jericho - the ads look interesting.
Hugs to all.
Margaret0 -
Evening all. I stayed home again today and decided I needed to see the Dr., but would you believe no fever when I got there! He said it was probably a virus and to drink plenty and take an over the couter for symptoms. Duh! That's what I've been doing. My gland is so swollen it hurts to swallow! But then again it's like that anytime I'm fighting off somthing. Heck I was diagnosed with mumps 5 times as a kid! I was concerned as I'm having surgery on Tuesday and didn't want this to delay it.
I'll be headed out of town tomorrow to go see grandbabies! Hopefully we'll get to see the newest one too!
Look out Niki I heard it was going to snow on your end of the circle!
Wouldn't it be neat if someone could do a map that showed where our wagon circle was. You know the kind that has push pins for each of our locations! I have to ask the hubby about that I think he had something like that for one of his blogs.
Ok here's another way I make sure I don't lose a long post. Just before I hit the submit button I highlight and copy my text so if I do lose it I can just past it back in.
Looks like things are drying up just in time for it to rain here again, but it shouldn't be as bad. Now I have to look forward to snow on the way to see the grandkids! Fun!
Hope everyone is having a great evening! Time for survivor.0 -
Hi Kristin-
Im glad to hear that that you are doing well with AC#3. You are a STRONG woman. Go to the center of the circle and hit the spa tent. Get a gentle massage and relax (OMG I just tried to type gentle and typed genital instead!!! That would be a whole different type of massage!!! Thank God for spell check but I still had to share the typo too funnyLOL) Hopefully laughter really is the best medicine.
Jeannie-
I sure hope you PS has something better than EEEEWWWW to say next time. I think that is even worse than Hmmmmmm, which I seem to get fairly often. Hang in there girlfriend. Any new news on the eye? Is it feeling 100% yet.? Oh, and I have a solution for the ducks..I have an awesome recipe for duck a lorang. That will fix their little pecking hides!
Nicki-
Glad the dentist appt went well. I think Ill pass on your kind offer of a dog for brownies trade but Ill be happy to share the super easy recipe Ill post it on the recipe thread soon.
Amy- I have a cure you might want to try for your hand problems. Have you ever used old fashioned bag balm? It is sold in a square green metal tin. It was originally sold for dairy farmers to use on the udders of cows to keep them from getting chapped or to heal cuts or nicks. It is a very thick ointment with a really greasy feel. My grandmas cure is to slather the bag balm on really thick and then put on a pair of cotton gloves. Then if you can stand it, add a pair of rubber gloves over the top. My grandma always wore them over night. I can only stand to do one hand at a time for overnight. If I do both hands I get too hot. My mini version of the cure is to same thing but put my Playtex dish washing gloves on top and do the dishes. The heat from the dishwater makes the ointment really soak in. Give it a try I hope it helps.
I know I am forgetting people my poor brain is ready for bed. Hugs and prayers to everyone.
