Candie:  Isnt it weird about the turkey?  I actually couldnt eat any poultry of any kind.  I mean it, the last 2 years my plate was empty on TG!  Glad thats gone, cause I sure did enjoy the turkey and mashed potatoes.  Which I havent had for a while.

Slonedeb:  Yep, Im pretty sad about Jacque.  Was taken off guard this morning when I woke up and read about it.  Spent alot of time on her blog which was a wonderful.  I have learned to take each day and enjoy every minute of it.  Dont know what tomorrow will bring.  Sending you a big hug thought cause I think you need one.

Odalys:  Well buggers.  While Dancing with the stars is on, I feel like we never talk.  I love to dance, but DH hates the show so bad.  If I go into the living room he will heckle me.  How did your turkey come out and hope to see you popping in this week-end.  Sure miss talkin about stuff.  Crazy thing happening out there in health care.

Have a great evening.  I worked today and I need a nap to help me recover from yesterday.

Good evening sisters.  I hope everyone had a nice TG.   Boy it's been really warm here this weekend...83 degrees today.  It sure feels weird bringing out the Christmas decorations when it's so hot outside.  I think I'll wait until next weekend  to decorate.  No x-mas tree yet...it will dry out before Christmas.

Well, the turkey meal was a huge success!  Everyone had seconds and there are plenty of leftovers in my refrigerator.  Mom is very fragile and could not travel so we brought the food to her house. So sad to see mom like this.  The doctors told dad to prepare himself cause it's just a matter of time.  She barely eats now and has lost a lot of weight.  My heart aches just thinking about her not being with us.

Gina - spanish for TG day... "dia de dar gracias".

Nicki - I'm off until Monday.  Just love this new job...I get 13 holidays a year plus three weeks vacation and sick time.  Gotta love all those Federal holidays!  DWTS has been so much fun this season, wish you were watching it too.  There are always hunky guys, drama, and lots of sexy dancing.  I just don't know what I'm going to watch when this season is over.  Lately, every channel you turn on has violance and cop drama.  It's so nice to watch a fun, harmless show for a change.

Signing off for the evening I am so tired I almost fell asleep while typing.  I'll be back tomorrow.  Good night everyone, pleasant dreams.

Hope everyone had a great TG. We went out to dinner with my husbands family. He was so sad cause I guess I didn't smile much. Guess I was feeling a bit claustiphobic. Small table with 6 of us crammed in it!

We weren't the only ones saw them try to but a group of 13 where only 10 max would sit comfortably.

Tomorrow I will have all my kids and grandkids together at my youngest DD house. Will be the first time in over 2 years we are all together! Can hardly wait!

Slone Deb, I'm praying that the Onc will reconsider letting you stop sooner so you can get the legs fixed sooner! In the meantime I pray the pain will not be too bad.

Joyce Happy Belated Birthday! How are the boys doing?

We still have a turkey in the fridge just waiting to be cooked!

Scott lost his job today because of me. I thought that was against the law to let someone go that was on Family Medical Leave????

My folks will be headed this way in a week or so. After they throw a party for my older sister who will be 50 on the 5th. I don't think the Dr's ever thought she'd live this long. I still think she has a lot of years ahead of her! She has CP.

Well I think I've overdone my sitting up right time for tonight.

HUGS & PRAYERS for all from A to Z!

Hi everyone. Just popping in to let you all know I am still around. I have been reading all the posts, but haven't had a spare minute to post. My parents are visiting from the UK and I am swamped with work too. At one point, I was very sad about the bickering that was going on in here and purposely didn't want to participate. However, I am happy to see that things have gotten back to normal again and this is once again a comforting place to come to.

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I spent the day cooking for my family and some very close friends. It was hard work, but well worth the effort.

Hey Susan and Margaret: Where  in FL will you be visiting? I live not far from Clearwater Beach and would love to meet up with you gals if you are in the area.

Cy - I am soo very sorry to hear about all you have been through lately. Big hugs my dear friend. As if you haven't been through enough, now Scott has lost his job - grrrr. I hope  that whoever made the decision to fire him one day is faced with the same himself. How heartless !

Slonedeb - so very sorry to hear that you are going through such pain and problems. I hope they can fix the leg soon so you can get back on chemo.

You are all in my prayers and I gave special thanks yesterday for being allowed the honor of "meeting" you all.

Love and peace to all from A-Z.

Good Morning Everyone:  Im still feeling quite fat and full from TG!  Im just gonna be hanging out at home all week-end.  I hate shopping malls to begin with, and couldnt deal with them the week-end after Thanksgiving.

Odalys:  Glad the turkey was a hit.  I could easily be a Florida person.  I love the warm weather.  Its chilly and gloomy here in Chicago.  We didnt get snow, but its cloudy, foggy, and rainy.  All the trees have pretty much lost their leaves and its too cold to go for a walk.  Im not fond of Winter.  I need some sunshine in my life.  I did watch a talk show yesterday that had all 3 finalists from DWTS talking.  DH was working at a pub, so I could watch it!  I started taking dancing lessons when I was 3 years old - so I do love to watch people dance.  There are not many new shows I watch on television.  Usually its reruns or a movie.

CY:  Well I know if I was sitting in a crowded restaurant I wouldnt be smiling much.  But it does sound like you are gonna have a good time with your family.  I cant believe Scott lost his job.  Did he file for official family leave?  If he did, it is against the law to fire someone during that time.  Thats why the law was put into place.  If I were you I would look into this a little further.  Im hoping he filled out the proper paper work.  Anyways, its good to hear from you and sending a big hug your way.

Elaine:  Good morning and good to hear from you.  Hoping you have a wonderful day.

Time to go back to bed.  I have been taking naps on the week-ends after I come to the computer to talk to everyone.

Seems quiet - guess everyone is out and about doing their thing on this Holiday week-end.  Me?  Im gonna be working on a plastic canvas project.  Its a Christmas gift for my SIL.  Have a great day.

Popping in to wish you all a glorious day.  Really cold here this morning but the house will be nice and cozy today...firing up the fireplace and lighting the oven to cook Thanksgiving dinner for DS and BIL.  I went to dinner with them on Thanksgiving but I love to cook it so today is the day!

CY...oh my...I wish you weren't so very far away...I'm hugging you through cyber space.  If Scotts employers have under 50 employees they can fire regardless of the family leave act.  It doesn't make it right...to be honest I would think they are a pretty disqusting bunch that should be hugely ashamed of themselves.  Just remember karma...what goes around...comes around.  Don't feel bad either because he lost his job "because of you"...he didn't lose it for that reason at all...he lost it because of a heartless bunch of asses (the animal kind...heehee).  Wish I could help...

Good morning sunshine sister Nicki...I'm not fond of winter either as we all know.  I so wish I could dance...to be a ballerina was my dream for years and years.  Not to be though so onward and upward.

Elaine!!!  Hello and you've been missed.  Clearwater beach sounds like the place to be right about now.  DD is happily settled into her new home just outside the villages.  Actually meeting you was great!

Slonedeb...I'm so very sorry things are so hard.  I wish I could make it all better but all I can do is send a big cyber hug to you.  It sucks, it isn't fair, it isn't right...yelling at God today so he'll be sure to hear me...for you and everyone from A to Z.

Odalys...I get federal holidays now too!  I can hardly wait.  I also get a week off between Christmas and New Years!  Such a change it will be.  Hugs to you and glad your Thanksgiving went well.

    Liz...where are you?

Madison...haven't heard from my other giggle sister in such a long time!  I miss ya!

Bren...here you are!  Missed you too.

Ok...missing many but gotta get cooking...sis and BIL are coming for dinner...much to do today.

    Love and hugs all around

Good Morning Sunshine Sister!  Your new job sounds really great.  So there are loop holes in the family leave act?  That stinks.  Many companies have under 50 employees.

Im stomping my foot.  This makes me angry.  To do this right before the holidays seems sinful!

Enjoy your dinner today.  Sounds like you will have lots of fun.

Me?  Now I am really going back to bed.  Have a great day Vickie.

    Good morning,

Choca-glad you are having a nice visit with ur parents

Cy--it's against the law for someone to be fired under the Family Act. Check into it some more. That's why they have that law, to secure someone's job

    Nicki--have a good nap

Slonedeb--hope today finds you feeling a lil better

Well, today my project is to start decorating for Christmas. I am dog-sitting for my friend's yorkie...such a cute doggie. I even started writing my Christmas cards last night. Trying to stay ahead of the game so I can enjoy this holiday season. It is my favorite time of year.

    Have a good day everyone!!

    Hugs and prayers

    Morning girlfriends,

Cy so saddend to hear of Scott's job situation.  I've never trusted an employer since the day's when I worked for a large corporation. Loyalty and caring for a human bening just aren't part of their vocabulary, but what I did find out, is that kharma does indeed bite them in the ass in the end.  That is a small comfort when bills need to be paid.  My heart and prayers are with you.

Well, Mr. Tim left this morning. We have two routines here, the one when Tim is home and the one after he leaves ... the dogs like the one when he leaves better ... I take down the little gate between the living room and the bedroom and my office so they can come back here and and hang with me.  They love it!  And, I get to regain control of the remote, my spot on the couch, and after doing the laundry, the bed is put back together.  Mr. Tim prefers to have the covers ripped up from the bottom, so I get quite tangled up at night!

And, I have to go back to walmart today!  Yippeecayay!  Maybe I should self-medicate first!

Hugs and prayers for all today.

    Love,

    Bren

Good morning sisters.  It's a cloudy and rainy morning here.  The coffee pot is full of fresh Dunkin coffee and I'm baking some cinnamon rolls...anyone interested?  Glad to see so many sisters checking in again.  Going to grab some coffee and finish the cinamon rolls, the guys are hungry.  BBL

Warm cinnamon rolls?  As you can see Im running to get some.  Just woke up for a second and somehow nibbling on mixed nuts doesnt sound quite as good and the wonderful smell of warm cinnamon rolls.

Madison:  Im hoping the ground is warm enough so that the snow is just slush!  Bet your daughter is excited though to see the snow.  Darn darn on LSU.  I watched the game.  It was a nail biter!  Was thinking about you as they went into their 3rd OT.

Bren:  Mr. Tim sounds just like my DH.  Covers are flying all over the place.  Tried tucking them in once, well lets just say that didnt work.

Candie:  Many companies use the fire at will act which is allowed here in Illinois.  I always thought the family act at least made it safe.  Way too many companies out there with under 50 employees!

CY:  Im just waving at you and sending big hugs your way.

OK!  Gotta get dressed and stick my head out the door.  This house feels cold, but the heat just went on so hopefully I will stop shivering.  Im sure its too cold to take Mister for his walk today.

    Have a great morning.

    Good morning sisters!

CY>I am so sorry about Scott losing his job. Is there anyone in your family/friends that can ask a lawyer if you should pursue this in a lawsuit? I know how you feel, my DH lost a job just days before xmas one year with no warning, the entire plant was laid off when they were handed their paychecks. If we had known we wouldn't have spent anything on xmas that year. Talk about a slap in the face! We ended up moving to Houston with the help of my in laws and DH had to job hunt once we got there. Anyway, that sure was pretty cruel for them to be kicking Scott when you guys already have enough to worry about.

My DH and I had a good Thanksgiving...was the first one we had alone.  Kids are scattered and the one close by had to work at the hospital, but she wanted to for the double pay plus to get her mind off her husband leaving her couple months ago. We had a little bit of snow last night but no show on the ground. A bit shocking considering it was 80 degrees on Tuesday!

    Good morning all,

Wow, you can tell winter is here.  It's downright cold outside in the mornings.

Odalys, what time is DWTS on in FL?  Since I'll be in FL this week, if all goes well, want to make sure I catch it at the right time.  Pass me some cinnamon rolls and coffee please.  Is it raining in FL?

Elaine, Susan will be in Orlando and I fly into Orlando and I think we're also going to Miami.  Are any of those areas near you?  Hubby is doing all the planning on this one.

CY, I cannot believe that they would let Scott go, and especially right before Christmas.  Someone has no heart.

    Slonedeb, how are you doing?

Nicki, I'm finding that all the bit stores are offering free shipping so guess what I'm doing - as much online shopping as I can.  Last night I ordered a jewelry armoire for my sister - free shipping and it will be here next week.

    Vicki, enjoy that dinner.

Candie, I finished my Christmas cards!  First time ever.  I think I'll go to the post office and mail them today, especially since some are going to Canada.

Madison, I don't know what day I thought today was until I read your post and realized it's Saturday.  You never know, if I don't make it to FL, I might end up in your neck of the woods.

    Back later.

    Margaret

    Good morning girls,

CY - I'm just without words and for those of you who know me that's a first!  LOL  I so wish I could come there and just beat sense into idiot people who do stuff like that.  As Vickie said, Scott lost his job because of the asses he worked for - not you.  He will do anything in his power for you because he loves you and is a wonderful man.  Big Hugs!

Madison - I thought about calling you while watching the LSU game.  I thought you might need CPR!  It was a heartbreaking loss.

Vickie - I sent you a PM.  Are you ignoring me?

    Nicki - morning kiddo

Elaine - Happy Belated Birthday!  I'm so sorry I missed it.  How nice that the family is here.

Candie - nice to see you

    Margaret - morning

I have a big pot of red beans and rice on the stove.  A lovely lady from LA gave me the recipe.  Later we'll have beans & rice, cornbread and some blackberry cobbler w/ ice cream for dessert.

    Have a great day!

    Hi friends~

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.  It was quite bustling here. 3 kids, 3 dogs and 9 adults, which is a lot for me, since it's usually just me and my fat cat Cool

Other than BIL's turkey fryer breaking and having to go buy a new one, which put us 2 hours behind the scheduled eating time, it was great!  Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.

Very cold here (finally).  Can't believe I used to HATE winter so much, and now I find it SO handy to just walk out on my deck when I'm havin' a flash to cool off!

Was a total slug yesterday.  My canine children from Dallas had an overnight visit.  They are as spoiled as ever.

I'm getting a new family member probably tomorrow.  A stray cat that's been hanging in my sister's neighboorhood for a month or so.  I met him last weekend, and he's like my Sparky (God rest his soul) recarnated.  Looks like him, has the same sweet personality....he's very long and skinny, and has leopard looking spots on him.  Not sure what to name him...my first thought was Steven Tyler (lead singer for Aerosmith) 'cause he's so skinny and kind of has a big mouth....

Anywho I hope Steven Tyler (or whoever he winds up being named) and Holly Fat Cat get along okay.

    Happy Saturday everyone.

    Hugs

    Good morning all...

Someone needs to hog-tie me and make me stay here.  When I get hopping all over this site I end up getting upset at other posters and then getting in arguments I keep SWEARING I won't get into....you would think I would learn...but no....anyway...

I am glad to hear that most everyone had a good holiday.  We still are eating leftover pie.  We had 6 deserts for 9 people...LOL...can you tell that my mom, sister and I all love to bake?

I need to go start a big breakfast for my family.  We are having fried Yukon gold potatoes, scrambled eggs that my lovely hens laid for me yesterday so they are as fresh as you can get them, sausage patties, toasted homemade sourdough bread, hot banana chocolate-chip muffins and some orange juice and coffee.  Anyone want some?  I make lots.....

I will be back later and try and catch up on reading

    Hugs

OK, gather around the table, there are plenty of cinnamon rolls for everyone.  Yummy!    Remember...no calorie counting today...

Nicki - I know what you mean about the mix nuts...never the same as tasty cinnamon rolls and a hot cup of coffee.  Enjoy, even if they are just the virtual kind.  The best news is that you can enjoy these without any of the guilt.

Vickie - I sure wish you could blow some of that cold weather this way.  Enjoy the cooking and have a good time with your family today.  Glad to hear your new job has all those federal holidays too.  The additional time off during the holidays should come in handy.  BTW - Have you started your new job yet?  How is your new job going?

Cy- Glad to see you posting.  Have a wonderful time tomorrow with all the kids and grandkids.  I understand you not feeling comfortable so close together for dinner. It sounds like there wasn't much elbow room.  I can't understand why some employers are so heartless.  I agree with the sisters, Karma....

Bren - Walmart must be a mad house today.  I hope you are wearing your comfortable shoes.   Have fun!

Margo - sure thing, plenty of rolls for everyone.  DWTS airs at 8PM on Monday and 9PM on Tuesday.  I hope you don't miss it cause this is the finals.  I can't believe Tuesday will be the last episode of the season.  It seems like the season just started.  Yes, yes, I'm in Miami.  When are you going to be around here?  This is a good time of the year to visit Orlando.  Are you planning on going to Disney?  No, not much rain lately, just doday.  I think the temps will be dropping...don't worry they are in the high 70's to low 80's.  If we are lucky, may drop into the high 60's.  Just perfect weather.

Candie - have fun decorating.  Do you buy a real x-mas tree?  I just love the smell of a freshly cut tree.  We buy ours each year but have to wait until Dec to buy it or it will dry out before the new year.  Last year I bought the tree after Thanksgiving and by Christmas it was looking terrible.

Jan - wow from 80 degree to snow?  What a drop in temps!  Must be nice to feel the cold air after having 80  degree weather.  Glad to hear you had a nice TG

Elaine - glad to see you again.

Ladies would you believe I have jury duty for two weeks starting on 12/24.  There goes our "Noche Buena" and new year's party.  Baaa humbug (sp?).

I'm off to work on setting up our home office.  DH bought a 22 inch flat monitor and new all in one printer/scanner/copier.  Have a good day.

OK!  This has been the most boring morning I have had in ages.  Have been laying in bed all day watching LMN movies!  Still in my pj's and hair looks wild.  Thought I would just sneak a peak - hmmm never can quite do that.  Always want to say something.   Sooooooooooo!  Im gonna take a shower, get dressed and I'll be back.

BTW!  I want red beans in this house and I want it now!!  Man did that entice my appetite.

    Good Saturday afternoon!!

Cy - I have no words for what happened to Scott.  I own a small business and have less than 50 employees and I've worked around

situations with illness of family members.  Yes, it is hard - but I could never let someone go.  I simply could not live with myself.  As others have said - will come back to him.

SLoanDeb - hope this note finds you having a better day.

Deb - As soon as I read your post, I knew where you had been.  I did stay out of it as my son is a policeman and it would not do for me to start.  He also has guns and is a hunter.

Thought I would drop in and let all the Aunties know that the baby smell is just wonderful.  I've given her a kiss from all of you too.

She is so tiny, can hold her head in the palm of my hand.   Lilah,     2  1/2 and I have played and played.  She came into my room this morning and then we baked sugar cookies (I made the dough at home and brought with me; less mess here that way).  I'm surprised she went down for a nap between the dough and baked cookies!!

I'm on their computer so better run.  Hope everyone has a good weekend.

    Hellllooooo to all!

I feel like I've been away to long.  Honestly, I get mildly anxious trying to keep up with so many forums, sites and etc.  It seems like when I finish posting on one I forget to jump in and see what's happening elsewhere or vise versa!  Oh well, you all know I'm a bit of a flake!

I read, no notes, so you can only imagine how much I've already forgot!

Both Susan and Margaret are heading to Florida................I so want to be where it is warm.  I have a picture of Thanksgiving day with the snow covered trees............very pretty................for a CHRISTMAS card!

Talked to Susan for a few minutes yesterday............bad reception on my phone and I think her DH might have had the game on in the car..........anyhow she is having a great time.  I think she said they were heading into Mississippi or Louisiana..........she new the name of the city, but not the State!  See why I love this lady..........she is so much like me!!

Glad everyone had a good Thanksgiving!  Vickie is cooking today.....enjoy!

Nicki is having a laid back weekend.............I second that motion!

Naniam:  Thanks for giving that little one sniffs, kisses and hugs from all of us!!

Tomorrow I'm going to my DD's.  It has suddenly hit her that she is having a baby in about 6 or 7 weeks and has lots to do!  We're going to go through all the storage tubs and get out all the cute little baby stuff that she will need.  Won't be much in the way of clothes, because this baby is a Boy.......pink and ruffles from his big sisters baby days just won't work!

I was going to ask Nicki if it was safe to talk to her yet...............but I don't remember which place I read that yesterday was a 'stay away day!'  All I can say is...........remember, I just wrote about the 'symptoms' the other day.

Deb:  Don't know where you got yourself in trouble at! I just know that someone said they would hog tie you!  Some breakfast.............geesh......I had cold cereal that I didn't even want!

Okay, copping out now and going back to making my Christmas list.........Hubby and kids are getting ansy with me............they say I've been bugging them since July for theirs (not quite true!) and I haven't given any ideas yet!

I've got pictures of my Son's wedding now!  I'll post a couple here and a couple at G's in a bit!

    Hugs to all!

The title of this pic is "lazy cat" and that definitely describes me today.  Its like laying in bed all day cause you have a hang over, but I dont have any hangover symptoms.  Just hanging out and watching my favorite 2 part series of "The Stand" by Stephen King.

Wild/Jan:  80 degrees Tuesday and now snow?  Thats absolutely crazy!

Margo:  Oh you just made my heart go pitter patter.  I have never bought anything online.  Afraid to give my credit card number.  DH wants John From Cincinnati T-shirts and I would have to buy them online.  Then have them delivered to work.  I have heard alot of people are shopping on line this year.  Maybe I should check it out.  Especially cause of this lazy day.  Are you gonna get to meet up with Susan in Florida?

Donna:  Stephen Tyler sounds like a match to me.  I do believe in reincarnation and it sounds like that cat and you belong together.

Liz:  Dang those red beans and rice sounds soooooo good.

Odalys:  All I can say is that is must be sinful to be as lazy as I am today.  And it was those cinnamon rolls that surely started it. Wink

Gina:  If you didnt get a cinnamon bun it might be cause I ate most of them.

Neese:  That sure was a mouthful.  I forgot that you will soon be a grandmother.  Sounds like your gonna have fun tomorrow with your daughter.  And yes today, I especially have chemobrain.

    Brenda:  You sound good girlfriend.

OK!  See ya later.  Gotta go get something to eat.

Still morning at my end of the circle. At least for 11 more minutes. I am still in my pj's and just hanging out. Dh was up with the stomach flu all night so he is off work and sleeping. Poor guy. Hope none of the rest of us get it.

Deb-I just left the thread you were getting into trouble in. I love your point of view and could read your posts all day.

Brenda-Happy to hear you get to enjoy that baby smell. There is nothing like it.

Neesie-I know what you mean about keeping up. If I get distracted by one thread or site for awhile I don't have time to keep up with the others. I just spent about 1/2 hour reading about gun control just because the comments were interesting.

Cy-Praying for you and your family to catch a break.

Well I wish I had time to address everyone but I do have to check those other places too. My dog needs to get to the vet for a thyroid blood test and I have a stack of mail from the last week sitting here.

Hope you all have a great Saturday.

Liz, I want the recipe for red beans and rice.....yum.

Odalys, will be driving from Orlando to Miami. We're planning on flying into Orlando and driving to Miami. Joe thought we would take 95 down and return on 1 - would that be the route to go so the water is always on the correct side? Or we could take 244(?) and come back 1? Any recommendations for points of interest?  PM me with your cell phone number and I can call if things look like we might be able to meet for a little bit.  I'm packing light then since weather sounds good.

Candie, i think I will buy a fake tree for the first time ever.  I love the smell of christmas trees but I'm the only one who decorates it so I'm going to buy a prelit one when I get back.

    Back later.

Well dear friends I have enjoyed my time on the computer today.  Hope you all have a wonderful evening.  Time for me to top off my lazy day by going back and watch a movie on television.  Have a wonderful evening and night.

Sci Fi Saturday here!  DH has always been a fan........me, not so much!

Wanted to wish Margo a fun and safe trip to Florida!  You leave tomorrow, right?

Nicki:  I kinda think that is what hubby is watching right now..........THE STAND..........Glad you enjoyed your lazy, hazy day!  Me too, I haven't left the house!

I'm a thinking Dear Liz got the recipe for her beans and rice (which sound great!) from our Dear Southern Madison........................!!

BMD:  Hope DH is feeling better and that it isn't a bug that joins the whole family for what seems like an eternity!

I was just going to do Peanut Butter and Jelly for dinner............DH made Hot Turkey sandwiches................so I pulled out the rest of the leftovers and had my way with them!  Today was the last day they could lay claim to my fridge..........so the choice was to throw them away or heat them up and then throw them away!  Now I feel like a bloated goat again!!

Hope all have a good Sunday!

    Hugs,

    Denise
