    Good Morning Everyone.

CY:  I have read your post over and over again.  You and your family must be completely exhausted from all of this.  Probably a little numb too trying to absorb everything that was told to you.  I know it may not look good my friend, but Im not surprised about the WBR's first.  Then gamma knife to get rid of the larger lesions.  OK!  So the business is done.  You have been told your treatment plan and I know it scares the heck out of you.  But you are being given a treatment plan!  That is hope my friend!  You may be frightened by the plan, but its a plan.  I have followed others on the mets thread who have gone through WBR and gamma knife.  And they are doing well at the present time.  Sometimes healthcare is a cold business.  They have to tell you "everything" that might or could happen.  Doesnt mean its all gonna happen to you.  I remember others saying the biggest side effect was memory loss - which for them improved once the rads were done and the brain had a chance to heal.  So cry with your family today - get ready to fight tomorrow.  Im just wondering, are you being treated at one of the bigger University Hospitals?  If not - you might want to get a second opinion at one - they have at their hands treatments that are not available anywhere else.  Please encourage Charlie to keep coming here also.  There are many of us who want to help you and your family through this.

Vickie:  I have to admit I was worried about you yesterday morning.  You were getting the storm we got on Saturday. I kept hearing on the news lots of snow, ice and winds.  How in the world did you keep yourself together after the flat tire.  I probably would have kicked my car or done something much worse than that.  BTW!  that black cloud is leaving.  Sometimes it takes that final last blow - when you think things cant get worse and then they do!  Well I think a flat tire on your first day at a new job, during a Winter storm is the last blow for you.  Cant get much worse than that.  So take a deep breath Sunshine sister.  Besides all the frustration, how was the first day? I want to know the good stuff - like how is your new office.  Whats your desk look like.  Are the people friendly?  They are calling for another big storm here in Chicago today.  I think I will have enough time to get to work, go to my meetings and come home before it begins.  Oh and BTW - those puppies are so darn cute.  I love the one with Nate holding both of them.

Shrink:  Here is hoping the surgery went well and your recovering nicely.  I felt much better in my mind after my surgery.  Hope to hear from you soon.

To all the other campers - sending big hugs your way.  We have alot to do.  Grab your armor - CY needs us.

I will check back after work.  Love ya all.

    Good morning cg's,

Good morning sunshine sister Nicki...you are up and posting already this morning.  I am up and debating on whether or not I can make it to work...schools are closed and they haven't even plowed...we really got dumped on last night and are in the middle of a snowbelt that is dumping 1 to 2 inches an hours...yikes.

CY...Listen to Nicki...her words are true...you have a plan and I will be praying that all goes perfectly.  Love ya.

Hey Angel...sending gentle hugs your way.  How are you?

    Hi to Lisa.

Just wanted to pop in and send my love.  Lots of prayers for lots of people.

Hi Nicki...first day was a good one.  My desk is pretty awesome...lots of room to work which I like.  Lots of good lighting too.  The people are grand. Lots to learn but its so much less stressful than what I left.

Not sure if I am going to make it in today or not...we are getting slammed with this storm...they told me yesterday that they don't expect you to come in if the schools are closed.  Well...every single school in central NY must be closed because the list is huge.  Even Ithaca is closed and they never close!

Stay safe out there in the weather...everyone.

    Love and hugs

Vickie:  Hello sunshine sister.  Your office and desk sound great!  Maybe you can leave later after they have had a chance to clear the roads.  But if there is still the wind - that will be hard cause of drifting snow.

    Dont ya just love Winter?

Would all you East Coasters with snow kindly blow some my way?  We have NONE and my ski-crazy daughters are about to implode with jealousy about all the snow the rest of the world seems to be getting.  They had to cancel a second ski meet for this weekend.  Who would think it...Alaska with no snow in DECEMBER?

I have another busy week, but I am actually enjoying the hustle-bustle.  We did a cookie exchange at work and I came home with 13 plates of cookies.  My plan was to freeze them for parties....my family had other plans, LOL.  I managed to get one big mixed plate of them put away, but an alarming number of them disappeared last night...too funny J

I saw all the rain in Seattle.  I hope you are high and dry CY!  I'm sending you fierce hugs.  You can beat this thing.  Let us know how we can help.

My friend Beth is taking her little 4-year-old boy in for surgery today.  He has Spina-Bifida (sp?) and they are doing surgery on his legs.  Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.  He will be in big casts for quite a few weeks, so it will be hard.

Has anyone heard from Shrink?  Hope everything went well...sending hugs :)

I am on the run again today, but I will try and check in later.  Hugs and prayers for everyone.

CY- My prayers are with you and your family.

    Shrink-Hope you are doing well.

I hope we get some of that snow. It has to be enough to close everything down for me to enjoy it though. It would be nice to have a white Christmas for a change aroung here.

Deb-No snow in Alaska in December!!! It must be that global warming.

Vicky-How's the new job coming along?

    Have a great day,

    Hi all,

I'm back from Disney World.  Got back Sunday Night.  Can't remember if I posted here or not.  I posted at the hamptons.  It is so cold here and it was 80 in Orlando.  I'm not back in the swing of things yet.  I'm trying to think of ways to contribute to Cheryl financially.  So you can go have fun sweetie and let us do the work. I intend to help the Lord see you through.

I hope all the rest of you are grand and fine and wonderful.  Hugs and bugs and fishes.

MB thanks for the description.  Now I won't be quite so envious of your wonderful house.

Deb no snow?  something is wrong.  Hugs for your friend Beth and her son.

Vickie, hope the new job treats you like you deserve.  Where did you get those puppies? so cute!!!!

Lisa, when I lived in CA I would go to Disneyland at least once a year.  And I have to say after this trip, I still prefer the smaller park.

I posted this over the hamptons.  We still have the pinkstock t-shirt website.   I can redo the web page and enlarge the site so we can sell multiple designs for each type of t-shirt.  We can charge extra money funnel it into a paypal account for Cheryl and Scott.  Anyone interested.  I will donate all my time and money.  need to look into non-profit status.  I'm at idea stage so don't expect this tomorrow am.  LOL

Believe it or not I'm home already after my bi-lat surgery yesterday.  The bs must be like Zorro or something.  He was done in less than two hours.  I've had almost no pain, taking tylenol maybe twice a day. I am sure that all of your prayers and good wishes helped.

I do have these ugly drains to deal with.  I couldn't wait to leave the hospital.  It took about an hour to get someone to take me to the bathroom.  Two nurses started to take my bp in the wrong arm.  It took 4 hours to get all of the discharge papers together. They forgot to send my dinner last night and then sent four of them.  But I'm grateful to be feeling so well.  I'll be interested of course in the pathology report.

    Hope you're all doing well.

Shrink -- it sounds like you are doing really well after your surgery.  I was like you...I wanted to get home as soon as possible.  The drains were the most annoying part.  It was such a relief to get them out.  If the doc said you could shower, then just tie a shoelace or scarf around your neck and use big safety pins to pin then to the scarf.  That will keep the drains out of the way while you bathe or shower.

Shrink ... so happy to hear you're home and not in a bunch of pain.  Although the hospital sounds like it was a pain in the butt.  We should've left Mazer with you to keep on top of everything.  I don't know about drains, but I know others will be along who know more about that than I do.  I'm just glad you're home and the surgery went well.

Write as often as you can to let us know how you're doing.

    Love,

    Bren

Susan, count me in when it comes to helping CY.

Candie, I've been thinking about you all day.  Now I'm sending good vibes "east" to you for good results and a quick fix treatment if even needed.  There's always these speed bumps that we have to get over with this disease, isn't there?  Had my one year mammo today.  The good breast was completely clear.  YEAH!  The left breast showed an abnormal thickening around the scar area which the radiologist attributes to scar tissue and radiation damage.  To be sure, they'll do another mammo on that area in June.  Then next week it's off to the oncologist for blood work.  It seems like we're constantly "checking something" doesn't it ladies?

I love all the graphics on this thread.  It livens it up so much.  One of these days I might investigat the art of posting them (as well as actual pictures).  It sounds like a good wintry day project...or in my case, many wintry days!

Shrink, it sounds like you are doing very well after your surgery.  Hang in there!  You'll be even better when you get those darn drains out.

Hope everyone is having a good day!  Glad to hear that the new job situation is good, Vickie!  :-)

Good Afternoon:  Thought I would post a pic that might get some smiles.

I dont have much time.  DH put up decorations, now he is playing Christmas songs, it just started snowing, he put a log in the fireplace - so I guess I will go get a glass of wine and sit with him for a while.

Shrink:  Glad your home and doing well.

Ritajean:  Hiya.  And yes, it seems like they are always checking something.

Candie:  Glad the colonoscopy went well.

Susan:  I love when you start thinking about projects.  They always turn into something good.

Jasmine:  Good advice to shrink about the drains.

Vickie:  Are you stuck out in the snow somewhere?

OK - gotta go.  Love ya all.

    Candie,

Hope you're feeling better after your nap.  The description of your colonoscopy today was pretty "painful" for me.  And an endoscopy at the same time ... that's a lot of "scopy's" in one day.  The hiatal heria sucks.  No wonder you've been in pain.

I hope you'll be feeling better soon and the tx will fix the problem.

    Love,

    Bren
