Welcome kathy. This is a great place to hang out and there is no other discussion board that compares to the information and support that can be found here.
Alaskadeb-good to see you and doesn't your dog know that its cold outside?
Madison-hey there. What's up with this southern weather? Oh don't think I have taken the chance to say go LSU! I guess your new coach isn't so bad, huh? I've been there at the sugar bowl and had a blast!
Chemo is going well. In fact I am sitting here getting it now and passing the time hanging out with you guys. My veins somewhat cooperated so that's a good thing. Its zometa and abraxane today. Zometa is all done but it takes forever for the abraxane to get mixed up. I guess that's like any good cocktail though.
Deb forgot to ask you about your new barn. Have u decided on a plan yet?
Ok gonna go browse a bit. I was sure hoping for a CY update.

Kathy: Just wanted to take a moment to welcome you. The wagon circle is a wonderful place. Lots of friendship and lots of support here. Time for me to have dinner so I will catch up with everyone later.

I am popping in to say hello! Sorry that I have been MIA but I have just been really busy!
Kathy, welcome!
Odalys, sending prayers for your mom.
Shrink, woohoo on NED!!! Doing the happy dance for you!
Amy, hoping the chemo is gentle to your system but knocks the hell out of those cancer cells!
Prayers going out to Cy, CTG, Puppy, Mena and anyone else in need!
OK, any premenopausal women on tamox...do you find that tamox amplifies PMS for you? I am having mood swings that scare even me. This is crazy. And, what's even crazier, is having a tamox-induced hot flash while trying to control my PMS-induced mood swings. Help!
*Hugs*

Good Evening Wagon Circle Friends: I have tried to find my last post, but it looks like it hasnt been in a while. Just so many places I can go to and talk while working. Sure am glad the week-end is here as it will give me lots more computer time.
Hoping everyone is having a great Friday and hoping you all have a great week-end.
Odalys: Good to see you. And Im glad your mom is doing better. Its amazing isnt it, how much weight a person can lose when they take off all that fluid. My friends DH is a big guy and he was swollen from head to toe. Lost 30 lbs in water weight. Amazing. 12 hours days is way too much, hope you can relax some this week-end.
Shrink: That is wonderful news about your scans. I know you were scared, and now its over. NED is always good news.
Madison: Im waving to you and hoping your having a great evening. LSU yes!
DebC: Poor puppy wants to play. Mister usually does that to me when I first get home from work. Can say enough hellos to him. The dog actually runs around the house crying cause Im home.
Kathy: Lots of people lurk for a while until they get comfortable. So Im glad your comfortable. Im just wondering though how did you get on to lurk without registering? Looks like you just registered today. Anyways, neither here nor there, its always nice to see a new friendly face here.
Amy: Like Madison said, many of us have been worried about you and Im glad you stopped by to say hello. Hoping the chemo is going well.
OK - gotta go. Think I will catch up from this point. See ya in the morning.

Sending everyone A to Z lots of hugs and prayers0 -
Thanks so much for all the warm welcomes. One is able to read without registering, just unable to post.
I am finding it difficult to say hello to each of you since I don't know you yet. I will in time and again thank you for your welcome.

Kathy-Hello to you our new friend. You'll get the hang of it. I lurked on this particular thread for almost a year before I finally joined in. As others have said, don't worry about keeping up. Some do, some don't, some can, some won't. All are welcome in the Circle.
Twink-Yippeeeeeeee!
Well I worked on showing homes all day today. I must read a bit more and sleep.
Dream a little dream.

Hi girls, thanks for all the birthday wishes. Had a fun day today. Hubby is out of town but when he left early (4:30 am) this morning, he left two dozen roses and a card and will be back tomorrow so we'll go out to dinner tomorrow night. My kids all checked in and my sister went shopping with me and then took me out to dinner. We're home, sitting in my family room, each with our laptop and watching a movie.
Wild/Jan, what a gorgeous picture.
Sahalie, I've been gone all afternoon so don't know if Mavericks is taking place tomorrow. If it does, a lot of people are expected. Where do you live?
Good news Shrink.
Welcome Kathy. Like Neesie says, don't worry about keeping up or missing something - just jump in whenever you can. I lurked for a long time before I started posting on BCO.
Amy, glad your veins cooperated today.
Been a long day so am signing off for now.

Sahalie: So nice to see you here. I love your avatar!
MizSissy: I'm sure Puppy is on her way to recovery now that she has meds and her DH taking good care of her! Thanks for keeping us posted.
Madison: Nice to see you!
Shrink: Excellent news for you!
DebC: Bugs and Fishes to you!
Kathy_IN: A Big Welcome to you! Many women lurk before they join this thread! I'm a relative newbie going on just 9 1/2 months since my dx. I lurked for several months before jumping in here. You'll find women from many different stages in their journey here, a lot who are two or three years out like you are. You'll find lots of friendship and support here! I'm glad you found us!
Amy: I couldn't have said it better myself in welcoming Kathy here! I hope your chemo went okay today. Thinking of you.
Kristin: I was just like you before I had my oopherectomy when I went on Tamoxifen. No fair to have SE's of PMS AND Menopause! Are you on any anti-depressants? They help with the mood swings. Also, Neurontin helps with the hot flashes! Good luck to you!
Barb: One great thing about this thread is you don't Have to keep up! It's just good to see you!
BMD: Well said, All Are welcome in the Circle! How are you doing lovely lady?
angel kisses and hugs,
Charlene

Good Morning and Happy Saturday Everyone. After all the predictions about a snow this week-end in Chicago - it was cancelled. No snow. Winter can be so unpredictable. Might take Mister for a walk today, will just put on a warm winter coat cause I think its gonna be in the 30's here.
Its quiet this morning. Just sitting around the campfire and thinking about all the friendships I have made here. Soon I will be coming to my 3 year anniversary here at bco.org! I cant believe that 3 years ago, I had just found my lump! Time has gone by quickly, but this journey hasnt been easy and Im still dealing with all the emotional stuff that goes along with it.
I have to agree that bco.org is one of the best places around. When I was first diagnosed, I was frantically researching on the internet. Somehow I ended up here - still dont remember how. But that was the last day I went searching. I had found a place that provided education, explained things to me in a way that I could understand, and gave me the opportunity to meet so many people and make so many friends. It has been a lifesaver for me. I have been on this site everyday since then.
Since Im dealing with alot of people in the community who have breast cancer, I am constantly encouraging them to come here.
Kathy: Im so glad you found the wagon circle. It really is a special place. And dont feel overwhelmed with all the posts. Just pop in and say hello. I never knew you could read without registering. I think that is so great. Means that lots of people who need help can come here to get support. Im really glad you found us. Come sit by the campfire when you wake up. Have coffee brewing. Tea and hot chocolate too. Making a good old fashioned breakfast. Bacon is cooking now and the aroma is drifting through the campsite. Many sisters are still sleeping, but usually once they get a whiff of the aroma they slowing wake up one by one. Gonna have Omelets and as always fresh fruit. Im feeling good this morning so I just might make some Johnny Cakes.
Margo: Im so glad you had a good birthday. 2 dozen roses sounds so pretty. Hope you have a great time at your birthday dinner. DH and I will be spending the week-end together just watching football and relaxing. I do have to run out to a local hospital and do one quick evaluation and Im gonna treat myself to a manicure and pedicure. Also thinking about going out and getting an Iphone. Must keep up with the current stuff since my CD player broke down yesterday and I plan on exercising this week-end. I even got myself a floor matt (my exercise room is tiled floor) and Im gonna try to throw in some pilates.
Brenda/BMD: Sounds like you are going to have a busy day. Are the houses selling in your area? People here in the Chicago area are having difficulties right now. Have seen for sale signs on houses now for months. How are you feeling since your surgery. Hope your healing and doing well. I sure wish I lived in your area because your Sunday get togethers sounds like so much fun.
Barb: Im giggling because Im an old timer and still have a hard time keeping up. The week-ends are really my catch up time. Hope you have a great morning.
Kristin: Im post menopausal. But I can tell you my hot flashes are awful and my moods swings are unbelievable. Just sending lots of love your way. Ever since chemo, when I have a hot flash - its my head that perspires the most. So no matter what hair style I leave the house with, it changes. Even though its Winter in Chicago, sometimes I find myself driving around with the air conditioner on. Its always good to see you my friend. I can remember when you first came to the wagon circle and you were just starting chemo. Youve come along way baby.
DebC: So what are your week-end plans. Usually you are running around doing so many things with your family. Makes me tired sometimes. I can still remember you describing the northern lights to us. I dont know why I just thought of that, but it popped into my mind and figured with this chemobrain I better write it down quick. Any home remedies for statis electricity in your hair? Mine is flying wild.
Bren: Good morning dear friend. Have a special place saved for you by the campfire. Could easily go from coffe to shots as the day turns into night.
Brenda/Naniam: OMG I just read about your neice. How is she? Did she have surgery? Ruptured appendix is not good at all. Please when you can stop by and let us know how she is. If you havent read elsewhere, friends DH will NOT have a trach. He will go home on a CPAP machine to use at night. Sending lots of love your way.
Susan: Im so glad the mammogram was good. Seems like your so busy nowaday and I never get a chance to talk to you. Hoping life is treating you good.
Neese: And how is our new grandma today? Hope I can catch up with you later.
Puppy: How are you today kiddo? Im hoping that antibiotic is kicking in and that you are feeling better.
Sahalie: Are you talking about a real surfing contest? I was never interesting in surfing until I watched the HBO series John From Cincinatti. Now I find myself being very interested. Dont get to see much surfing here in the Chicago area.
CY: Just want yo to know Im sending big prayers your way and hoping today is a good day for you.
Gina: Im looking all over for you. Wondering how you are feeling today after having RADS all week. You are truelly an inspiration to so many of us as this past year has been so difficult for you with surgery, chemo, rads. And you still always have a smile on your face. Hoping today is a good day for ya.
Well, Ive tried to catch up with everyone - gonna start new from here. Hoping you all have a wonderful morning.

Susan - congrats on the good news about your mammo!
Odalys - glad to hear your mom has made improvement.
I know I missed a couple of recent birthdays.....Margo and Suz? Happy belated Birthday! If it's not Margo and Suz, then "hi" to you, and happy belated to whoever just had birthdays!
Wild/Jan - your pics are awesome. You could make a calendar with them.
Shrink - NED WooHoo for you!
Kathy - welcome!
Amy good to "see you".
Hello to Deb, Charlene, Nicki, Madison, Liz and many others I've missed...
Today is BF's big 5-0 and I'm sick as a dog! Thought yesterday I was just getting a chest cold, but now I'm convinced it's full-blown flu. Last night I was wearing 2 sweatshirts, 2 pairs of socks, sweatpants, had 4 blankets on me and could not get warm. My temp was 101 and my bones ached so bad I could barely stand up! WTH? Got a script for Tamiful, I hear it's good stuff so hoping it kicks in soon. We have reservations tonight for a nice dinner then comedy club afterwards. I feel like a new person right now compared to last night. I hope it continues.
Also, I've got something funky going on with my left thumb. It's "drawing up" and when I go to straighten it it "pops" back into place like it's disconnected or something? Arthritis maybe? Have I just gone to hell in a handbasket?
Anywho enough about me. Prayers and hugs to CY, Puppy and anyone else having a difficult time right now.
Going to go have a big glass of juice and take another Tamiflu.
Hugs,
Donna

Good Morning Everyone--hope everyone has a nice Saturday mine will be quiet. My DH just left for the day, and my twins, ( 22yrs old) will probably sleep all day ! They had a rough day yesterday. They have both worked at the same place for 3 yrs. Yesterday there was a mandatory meeting for all the employees--unfortunately, it was to inform them that they're all out of a job. No previous warning, or rumors, thats it--no more job !!!
I finally got all my Christmas stuff down.now I just have to get all the boxex into the attic till next year.0 -
Good Saturday Morning Everyone.
I have been quiet and resting the past couple of days. As you know I had surgery 5 weeks ago yesterday. I needed cat litter and had to go pick some up Thursday. I shouldn't have lifted it, (37lbs) I have been having abdominal pain since. I got the surgical body girdle out and have been wearing it again. Should have had it on when I was doing the lifting or better still, should not have lifted it. I am feeling better today.
Margo...oooohhhh two dozen roses, never had that many in my life. My DH bought me a dozen once during our marriage. Now that he has passed I never get flowers anymore except I think I shared with you that the delivery man at the hospital occasionally gives me some, not a bouquet but 2 or 3. He just does it to be nice, we aren't after each other. Lol
BMD...the housing market is in a real slump here, glad I don't want to move.
Nanian...whets the scoop on your niece? The appendix can be sneaky, the wbc isn't always elevated. My son was dx as constipated when his went out of whack. Finally did exploratory surgery and they were ready to rupture. Bob had his out about two years before he died, I went into the bedroom and he was on his hands and knees, just miserable. He still got up and went to work but was soon sent on to the hospital.
Everyone...I have known Kathy_IN for many years. I encouraged her to come here; she has been a source of encouragement for me.
Odaly, glad your mom is improving. You are working such long hours, take care of yourself, you have a lot on your plate right now.
Amy...been missing you. Good to see you back posting again
Nikki....A big Hello and Hug for you.
Have missed many, have a wonderful blessed day everyone.

Donna ... Hey girl, good to see you! I hope the Tamiflu helps and you continue to improve today so you can go out for your BF's 50th birthday celebration! Keep up those fluids and get lots of rest today! "hell in a handbasket" ... I've always loved that saying!
JAZZ! ... LOL about me being up and about so early. I was actually getting ready to Go to bed then! I know, waaaay too late to be up but just one of those days where there aren't enough hours in it! Thank you, I am feeling much stronger since my latest surgery! My incisions are itching, a sign of healing I believe!
Madison ... Good morning to you, safe driving today!
Barb ... Oh no, that's terrible about your twins jobs! That is such a hard way to lose a job. I hope they at least got their last paychecks!
Often times losing something can be a blessing in disguise. I hope this is the case for your boys.
Football weekend -- I'm rooting for the Patriots, Packers, Colts and Giants! I personally would love to see the Patriots and Green Bay verse each other in the Super Bowl this year! We'll see, I'm going to enjoy it either way since my Steelers are out and it won't be stressful for me!
Off to get more much needed coffee. I hope everyone has a wonderful day!
Charlene

Barb -- I'm sorry I must have missed your post earlier. I hate to hear that about your twins jobs. Unfortunately, life is harsh in corporate America. Jobs can be lost in a matter of minutes with no warnings. My company likes to send emails at 7:30 am to announce a layoff for the day. Nothing like a good morning cup of coffee and a layoff announcement to get your stomach in an uproar for the rest of the day.

Just doing a quick flyby.
Donna, Tamiflu is great if you take it within the first 24 (or maybe it's 48) hours of the first symptoms of the flu. I work for the company that developed it.
Barb, sorry about the kids getting laid off. The start of the recession....I worked for one company during the dot.com days and the economy started a downturn - the company was laying off and it got so bad that when the operators paged a name, you knew they were the next ones going.
Doris, that's nice that the delivery man gives you some flowers. My hubby is a keeper. I'm in CA and our housing market hasn't slowed down at all. You shouldn't have been lifting that much weight - I usually don't lift anything heavier than a 12 pack of soda. I can't buy water anymore unless someone is with me because it's too heavy for me to lift.
Ok, time to get on with my day.

Donna---you have a trigger finger---I've had 2 since starting AIs (altho the ortho says one has nothing to do with the other). Try resting the finger, avoid repetitive movements, take motrin or another antiinflammatory. They usually don't go away but you can try cortisone shots if the orthopedist thinks it's appropriate. I wound up with surgery on both of them (just last week, as a matter of fact) but it's no big deal. The surgery DOES get you out of doing dishes for about as week!
Margo---I missed your birthday! Sounds like you had a good day with your girlfriend. Two dozen roses, huh. Can you send your DH over here to give some lessons to SO?
Just a quick fly by----finger surgery did slow me down some so I am actually taking down the tree today----hope it's not too much of a shock to my system!!
Jeannie0 -
Something a little different....a cloud that looks like a huge jet in the sky today...
0 -
Very nice, Jan. Almost looks like a snow cloud too.
0 -
BARB>so sorry about your twins layoff. DH went through a major one in Houston, TX that led us to move to the new job he found in Laredo, TX which eventually brought us to Oklahoma. But sometimes its for the better, they will probably find a better paying job. Its a bad push to do so but most do find a better job in the long run. So hang in there!
0 -
Margo: Your husband sounds like a sweetie, just like my SO. On my birthday he had a dozen roses for me and they were beautiful but he thought they could have been better. So he went out and got me a dozen more! Mine's a keeper too! Glad you had a nice birthday.
Wild/Jan: That picture is very cool!
Jeannie: Careful taking the tree down! Don't hurt yourself!
0 -
Angel, hubby is a sweetie, like yours. My sister asked me if he had been cloned yet (although I would never tell her that he would never be able to live with her). Birthday was great, thanks, and I get to make it a birthday weekend since he was gone yesterday. I have a girlfriend who celebrates a birthday month.
Jan, cool pic.
Ok, now I really have to go do what I'm supposed to.

Good morning everyone. Checking in from the blackberry so will be short. Numb fingers and tiny keyboard doesn't go well together.
Charlene I believe it was you that mentioned that sometimes when something happens you think its bad but then it works out and you find you are better off. Very well said and I have had that happen in my life as I am sure we all have. Wish I could say that cancer had been a negative turned positive but still trying to figure that one out, lol. It has opened my eyes to bc.org to make some great friends.
Trigger fingers. I don't do AI,s but I have them now too. Wonder if its chemo related?
Bloodwork was all good yesterday except my monocytes were 0 and should be between 5 and 15. I guess my immune system is lacking but I'm not surprised considering this is my 9th week of chemo.
Donna I know what you mean about your saying. I think the same thing is happening to me.
Doris_in good idea in inviting people over like kathy. She will figure us all out in no time,,,well maybe not lol.
Madison have a good day with your parents. Take it from me and enjoy them while they are here cause life is too short sometimes.
I think my chemo brain is failing me because I am going blank on names. I'm sure I will check back in later.
Throwing some big logs on the fire and pulling my chair a little closer to the fire at least until another hot flash hits anyway.
Amy0 -
Well Im back from my short sprint at work. Had to see this poor old guy who has Parkinsons and Dementia. Fell and broke his hip and is having an awful time. Was yelling out and crying - but responded to a soft touch and a little talk. Hes really cute and we will be taking him at the SNF I work at today. Sure wish I would have wore my pedometer cause this hospital sure has gotten bigger since the last time I was there. Had to do lots of walking to get to my destination.
Now Im home, back in my jammies and feeling great.
I just wanted to say I think it is so great to see new people and old timers coming back to the wagon circle. It definitely is a great place for support and love. I have talked to alot of chatters from 2005 and keep telling them to come here. Hope they do.
Sahalie: So thats what a Maverick is. It beautiful.
Margo: Hope you have lots of fun today. I like celebrating a birthday week. DH and I do special things each day that week before our birthdays. Its nice.
Kathy: I just found out you are friends with someone who is really special to me. Im so glad you found us. Looking forward to getting to know you better.
Donna: No No No you cant be sick on your BF's 50th. I sure hope you are feeling better sooner than later. Usually when you have chills like that your temp will go up high within 30 minutes after the chill. Then you will perspire profusely when the fever is breaking. Sure sounds like the flu to me and Im hoping that tamiflu does the trick.
Madison: Have fun on parents day.
Barb: Thats an awful story about your sons. What a mean thing to do. Mandatory meeting and then bam no job. Its terrible. Whatever happened to good old work ethics. Its an awful feeling to be let go so I hope your boys are ok. Just planning on a nice Saturday here too.
Doris: Lucky me, I get to see you twice in one day. You are right, you should not have done that lifting. Hope you are feeling better. I dont have flowers too much at home either. My male cat likes to eat them - no matter what kind. So if I do get flowers I have to put them way high where he cant get at them - then you lose the effect of the pretty flowers. BTW! Sometimes, when Im feeling grumpy, I go out and by myself flowers. Always nice to have around. So I see you are the special person who knows Kathi. So glad you invited her to come to this wonderful place.
Jeannie: Good to see you. Be careful taking that tree down today so close after surgery. Glad to hear you are feeling better.
Wild/Jan: That was another great picture. We dont have any sun here either. Although its warm enough to take Mister for a walk if I wear a coat - which is what Im gonna do right after I get off the computer. While I was driving this morning I saw a man riding a beautiful black horse down a path. I thought of you and Gina immediately.
OK - everyone have a nice day. BBL

Sahalie: That was so very sweet of you to say about me. Wow, what an amazing wave! Enjoy Mavericks!
Margo: Good for you, enjoy your birthday weekend. Wow, a birthday Month! I couldn't imagine it!
Amy: Hey girl! You understood me perfectly! I so wish we could say the same thing about cancer. Some people do find that the one positive is making some real friends with people who "get it" here on BCO.org. Hang in there girlfriend. Pull up to that fire and pop a cold one to help combat the hot flashes! I hope you're feeling well.
