    Good morning,

Decided to get up and out early this morning. Going to do a lil food shopping before work. Shoprite is nice and quiet then. I went another aquacise class last night. I rally like it. As I was walking to my car, I relaized my knee wasn't hurting. It ws the first time I walked without a limp in months...that lasted for about an hour. So maybe this will work for my knees too. The knee Dr. has said it would. Oh it will be so nice to lose some weight too.

Charlene, that's the main reason I went for the brca tests too....for my daughters. Only mine were inconclusive.Glad your onc visit was a good one and so happy youdon't have to go back for 6 months. I have my appt on the 30th.

Have great day to everyone from A to Z.

Odalys, hope you are feeling better today.

    Hugs and prayers,

    Candie

Good Morning Wagon Circle:  Have a little time before I go and get ready for work.

Odalys:  Good to see you.  I left a message in the dreamer thread.  Glad that your mom is better.  Hoping you find out whats going on with you too.  Sending big hugs your way.

Candie:  OH gosh!   Food shopping this early in the morning would make me crazy.

Brenda/BMD:  Yes it does seem like old times.

SoCal:  I was looking for you, so glad to see you.  Bet your keeping busy.

Gina:  I cannot believe the tomatoe fiasco.  Thats pretty darn funny.  I know you asked me this a couple of days ago and I forgot to answer. I didnt change jobs, nor did I get a promotion.  Lately we have been getting alot of patients who are stage 4 on chemo/RADS and need rehab.  To me thats good because they are finding more and more ways to treat stage 4.  But this is a new concept to skilled nursing/rehab.  So the owners will be sending me to take courses in school to become chemo certified.  Its a 12 weeks course and wont start until April.  I will then be teaching the nurses at the rehab I work at about chemo and what to look for.  I will be evaluating lots of people in the community and preparing them for rehab.  Once they are at Whitehall I will review their charts and make sure they are not having any chemo side effects.  So they have added a fun component to my current job.  Yes Im excited - but sure wish it involved more money.  But like I said before - it is now giving me the best of both worlds.

Well time is out, have to go.  Hoping you all have a wonderful day filled with lots of good things.

    Good Morning sisters!

Yesterday afternoon when I went out to get the mail I noticed all the cows, horses and goats were laying in the warm sun sleeping including my horses.

I wonder what he was dreaming and smiling about? This is a sound asleep position (looks like a dead horse) He was so sound asleep he let me get real close for this picture.

This is the half asleep position, ready to flee at moments notice.

And just for you CHARLENE...the picture of venus. It looks like a very bright star in the morning sky to the southeast. I took it as a landscape photo so someone on AccuWeather could tell me what planet or star this was.

    Good Morning All

Gina...bet you were scrambling trying to pick up all those tomatoes. If it had been me, I would probably have lost my wig. It probably wasn't funny at the time but it is now.

    That fire does sound suspicious.

Odaly...good news about your mom. Let us know what you find out about yourself. Think positive girl.

WildJan...that photo was beyond great. I would have no idea how to go about marketing your talent but you certainly need to look into it. You enjoy it so, that would be getting paid to have fun.

Angel...6 months, that should make you feel positive. If you do brca testing, be sure insurance preapproves it. So many times patients count on the Doc's handling things, many times we have to have patients sign financial  responsibility because we don't have confirmation from the insurance companies. I always check mine myself to make sure it has been handled.

Candie...enjoying your exercising, that is a good thing. I am so lax on exercising, never thought about that being good for the knee, perhaps I should try it.

MB...I never have to hook up to anything with my laptop when I take it with me. Do you have yours set up for wireless?

Bren...I had forgotten to ask you why you needed a tractor. What in the world are you wanting to do that you would need a tractor?

Nikki...I think Tony is leaving Indy. His family is already living in Tampa,  He is a quiet gentle man...the team will sure miss him.

My sis and bil always winter in Florida, bil has been in hospital since Friday, chest pain and right arm pain.  He has passed all the tests they have given him but they are borderline, they may do a cath this morning. They do things differently there then they do here, he would have had that cath by now if there was that much concern. I told sis if they need to come home I would fly down and drive them back. She can't drive the motor home; her hands are too bad from the scleraderma.

Brenda...waving at you and have a good day.

SOCALISA> I use P (program) mode on the dial. Then hit the pic taking button to have it live and ready to take a photo on the lcd screen. Then hit the "func" button and use the up/down/sideways button to make sure my AWB is set to auto, then go down one icon and set it to "vivid". Seems to capture the moon the best. You have to have it ready/live to take a pic in order to find these functions under the func button. If its just showing the last pic you took these functions won't show no matter what button you hit.

Angel - So glad your onc appt went well and you got a referral

Nickie - I think the new parts of your job sounds wonderful! I can see it being very challenging and fufilling. Does it take an emotional toll on you though? I think I would not handle the sad cases well at all. I'm a wimp though - cry at the drop of a hat etc.LOL I have the utmost respect for nurses who work with ca patients. Did I ever mention that my DH is an RN?

Candie - I'm the other one who has a mutation of uncertain significance. There are so many base pair changes and deletions that can occur in the BRCA genes that it is just not known what all of them mean. Over time if the data base from all of us who were tested show the same mutations then it is more likely a cause and effect pattern. Don't think I explained that very wellUndecided

Jan - OMG that does look like dead horse! I do love your pictures.

Well I'm not working today cause I have an onc appt later this morning. I'll try to check back later.

    Have a wonderful day all.

ODALYS>Glad to hear your Mom is doing much better! Hope its not something serious with you though!

DORIS>I had to fight my insurance to get them to pay for my genetic testing. BS said lets do it and that was in Janurary after my biopsy. Said if I have the gene then I have to have a double masectomy. Fighting with insurance took months...finally got them to pay it and finally got my results...December 07! Long time to wait and see if you have to have a masectomy! Insurance kept saying they don't have enough info or all the info needed...

    Hope your BIL is fine!

SUE/BOO>sometimes we panic when we see them sleeping soundly because they rarely sleep like that and look dead. Mostly sleep in the half sleep position.

Sue...I knew what you were saying. Yes, my genetics counselor said that if in the future they see that mutation in others then I would be notified and research would begin on that.

Doris..I am not an exercise person, either. I am trying to get healthy cause I stand myself. I am overweight, always dragging my tail. I am enjoying this class...my Dr's have been bugging me for awhile now to do this...they will be so proud!! Hope your BIL is ok.

Jan..wow,horses sleep with their eyes opened? Your pics are always so gorgeous.

MB, love today's menu...good day for it here in NJ

well, I am going back to work a lil..lol

    Good morning all,

Doris_in laughing at your comment about the tractor.  I cant imagine not having one but I admit thats not a normal thing that most women have.  i think Toni is leaving also but I could be wrong.

MB-glad the backhoe could come in handy for the lights.  Its funny cause I was raised always having one so I never gave it much thought as to what you would do without one.

Charlene-glad the onc appointment went well.  I am feeling ok but the tiredness is really bothering me this time.  I slept in my truck at lunch yesterday and couldnt wait to get home and get on the sofa.  I suppose its just the accumulative effect of chemo.

Shokk-where have you been missy?  You might be on another board but this is the only one I read.

Deb-what do you do with your chickens when it is that cold in Alaska?  I mean heat lamps are good but is that good enough for alaska cold?

Sue-good luck at your onc appointment today.

wildjan-lovely pic and I liked the horse pics also.  You really are enjoying that camera and I am too.

Hey Amy :)  My chickens are so darn spoiled it isn't funny!  Our whole chicken story is kind of funny....

When we moved back to Alaska from Michigan 5 years ago my mom and dad gave us 10 acres of their homestead, about a half a mile from their house.  We lived with them for the 8 months it took to get our house built.  My mom and dad have always had chickens and I HATED taking care of them when I was a kid.  I swore I would never never NEVER have chickens....well, we got there and my kids wanted chickens, so of course, my mom bought a bunch of new chickens for laying hens....and we promptly fell in love with all the cute baby chicks.  We got all different kinds of breeds, ones with fluffy feathered legs, ones that look like they are wearing big feathered bustles, ones with Carmen Miranda-like topknots on feathers....all of them got names and became pets.

WELL....we got the house built and hubby's first chore was to build us a coop and a pen, but since these guys were by now members of the family, it had to be a really safe pen...and with bears that like to eat chicken dinner, that meant an 8 foot fence built with spruce logs, steel cable, chicken wire and then encircled with 3 strands of electric fence.  Then we built the coop with R-22 insulation, even in the floor and ran electric to it.  All the time my poor hubby kept saying..."I thought you didn't LIKE chickens!"  He calls the end result of all that work the Chicken TajMahal!  They have 2 full spectrum lights, an oil filled radiator on a thermostat and we keep it at least 40 degrees all winter.  They have a water heater under their drinking water as a back-up.  We joke that by the time we buy all their food (only the best, all natural food for them), and pay for the light and heat, we must pay about 10 buck a dozen for the eggs we get :)

SO...all that to say....even at 30 below zero, my fluffy little friends are toasty warm...and my mother is still laughing her butt off that her daughter that hated chickens now has a whole coop full of the most spoiled chickens you can even imagine!

Good morning friends. I'm having a hard time getting myself moving today.

Candie: My knees are killing me today. I've never had knee problems before I went on the Tamoxifen so I'm sure that's my cause. I love the idea of aquacise and plan to look into it when my Ava is a little older and I can find the time. It's nice to hear it seems to be helping you!  Is that covered by insurance as physical therapy for you?

MB: Niagara Falls, wow! Enjoy the conference and good luck at the new doctor today! mmmm that food sounds perfect for this chilly day!

Wild/Jan: Beautiful horse and lovely pictures of him! Wow, there's Venus just for me! It's amazing! What a gorgeous picture with Venus appearing like it's all by itself up there! Thank you! So are you considering marketing yourself yet? You could do it!

Doris_IN: Yes, I feel good about not needing to go to the Onc for 6 months. Tomorrow I have my PS post op appt, then nothing until my RA appt in Feb and my BS appt in March! Now I can schedule other things I've been putting off like my eye appt and my orthotic appt! I will double check on the insurance coverage, that is something I typically do as well. I hope your BIL is doing better.

BooSue: Thank you, I'm hoping your Onc appt goes well today for you. I understood you perfectly about the BRCA mutation of uncertain significance.

Amy: You've been through so much with the chemo, I'm amazed that you go to work everyday. I'm glad you can go out to your truck and get some sleep, maybe you should make that a regular thing. I've been wondering where Shokk is too!

Deb: That is one funny as hell chicken story and yes, I've never heard of chickens spoiled such as they are!  I love what your DH said to you while he was building it! LOL

Lisa: I just want to grab my camera and point and shoot .. usually by the time my camera takes the pic my daughter has moved and I get a different pic than intended and it's blurry. I know I need to take the time to figure it out and adjust the settings. I'm the one who takes videos of my children from my camera phone and then realize two minutes into that I never hit the record button. lol  I'm in awe of the pictures you and Wild/Jan take.

Jasmine: Where are you this morning?

Now I'm off to the grocery store - I hate doing that.  At least I'm not hungry so I know I won't buy a bunch of crap.  LOL

Liz-glad to see you stopping by.  The grocery store is never fun but it sure is nice to have things at home, isnt it?

MB beef stew sounds wonderful. As far as Pinkstock, I doubt it cause that is the week that school starts in alabama and thats always a hectic time.  Lots would have to do with chemo also and how I am doing with it.  Thanks for asking though.

Doing my morning check in. I see many of you have been up for hours. I have to go walk my dog now. My dh usually takes the kids to school but today I had to. My poor dog saw me get the sweats and sneakers on at 7:30 and she has been just dying here waiting to go for her walk for 1 1/2 hours.

Odalys-Check out the Pinkstock 08 thread. August 1-3 are the dates at MB's hill. Hope to see you there.

Wild/Jan-My neighbor's horse was doing the same thing yesterday morning. I thought sure there was something wrong with him. Obviously there wasn't.

    Charlene-pm'ed you back.

Amy-Hey there. How's the animals? My sister put a wood stove in the barn this year for her goats. If it gets really cold she will go out there in the middle of the night to warm them up.

Hugs and hi to everyone from A-Z.

Liz - That's okay, we're just happy to see you pop in!

Amy - I understand the insurance issue sucks.  I have my insurance under my ex and am waiting to finalize our divorce until I get through a lot of my treatments. He's in no hurry for the divorce and dragged things out for 2 years.  Just as I was ready to go finalize it myself I got my dx.  Not sure what I'll do after the divorce is finalized.

BMD - Got it and responded!  Enjoy your walk with your dog.  Your sister sounds like a sweetheart, just like you.

I got my appointment with the genetics counselor on February 4th.  She wants all the cancers of any type for all my relatives.  I have to get busy, I come from a rather large family!!

DEB>funny chicken story. I used to help pluck chickens when my Aunt was ready to butcher some. My mom would get us kids together to help them so we'd have some chicken for our table in return!

SOCALISA>yeah I've had the book out a lot in the past few days figuring out things. I really need to try the video sometime soon. I never used it on my Kodak. DH found out our old video camcorder tripod stand works with my camera but I'm not ready to mess with it yet myself. I didn't even use the tripod after he got it all together! I told him to nevermind I had already gotten another great shot of the moon as of last night.

Angel -- maybe you should contact your attorney to see if you can get the health insurance as part of the divorce settlement.  For a few more years at least, maybe he could keep you on.  Sort of like alimony.  Is that possible?

    Hi all,

Back from my onc appt and it went wellSmile All labs are good and free from him again for 6 months. He also gave me a script for Neurontin for foot pain. I developed such foot and leg pain on taxotere and now it is just my feet but no longer seems to be improving. Finished chemo a year ago and am just tired of waiting for the feet to get better. Hope this helps. Has anyone else been on it?

I was on neurontin for a couple of years for foot neuropathy...you start up dosages slowly ...I finally switched to Lyrica which helped me more...by the way...neurontin also   can help with hot flashes...

Boo glad the onc appointment went well.

Lisa-I have heard that neurontin is good for hot flashes also.  Mine have really increased lately but its weird cause Abraxane makes me cold.  I will be all cuddled up in a blanket and then need to come out of it cause of a hot flash.  They need to meet in the middle and make me a perfect temp.

BMD-loved the wood stove idea with the goats.  Thats a great idea and if we dealt with much cold weather here I can see it happening.  When it does drop down low we lock ours in the barn together to stay warm.  They don't mind cause they sleep in the barn anyway but the door closed helps them to stay warm.  Poor little babies.

    Hi to all!

Making kinda a quick trip today.............just visited the Dreamers and wanted to come here and check on the rest of you!

I laughed when I read Amy's question to Deb about keeping the chickens warm...................then I really laughed when I read Debs reply!!  You guys are a hoot!

Amy:  I'm glad that you're handling the Chemo 'okay'.........wish there was someway you didn't have to work right now, but know that is not possible. Damn insurance companies run our lifes.  Take care and rest when you can. I so wish you could make PinkStock...........school starting the first of August is just wrong....................feel free to tell the district I said so if it will help!

Deb:  I can somehow picture the Chickens condo............are you still naming them?

Boo:  So glad to hear that all went well at Oncs visit and I hope the Neurontin helps.

Question for you...........my lab is 10 years old.  She limps all the time. She also has developed several 'tumors'...........solid, but most are not visable. Nothing when vet aspirated them.  Xrays came back showing no hard tissue damage.  Now, at her age, we probably won't do anything but I sure would like to know what is going on with her.  Should I take her somewhere else?

    Lisa:  Hi to you................

    WildJan: Hi to you..............

Wow, you both lost me in your conversation on photography!  You both take such wonderful pictures.............You should get together and share your work.............I think you could publish a very 'calming' book of photos.  I'm serious...........think about it.

I'm with Charlene..........I point and click and most of the time my "intended" has moved, blinked or whatever before I snap the button!  I think I'd do better with the old 'brownie' wind up thing I remember from many, many years ago!

Doris:  I do hope your BIL is okay.  How nice of you to offer to help sister drive the motorhome back if necessary.  Keep us posted.

Gina:  I can so picture the Tomatoe episode in the store............it is so nice to know that I am not the only one out there that can cause chaos without much effort!

Candie:  My no toenail sister!  Glad you're coming to PinkStock.........we can compare toenails............maybe even figure out someway of jazzing them up!

Naniam:  Was it you that said you were a bad car rider?  Trust me, I am too.  Can't read in a car without getting sick.  My DH is the 'don't stop' type. But when we drove to NY last year, we did stop quite a bit and for some reason the drive didn't seem that bad.  We drove to FL a few years back and I will NEVER do it again.  Drive 24 hours or fly 2 hours........that's a no brainer for me!

Charlene:  Great on the Onc visit!  6 months........you really deserve this!

MB:  Conference in Niagra Falls..............sounds fishy to me!  Hope you have a good time in between meetings!

Liz:  At least you popped in............wow, you're really starting to pump out the afghans also!  I think it's great that you've joined the assembly ladies!

Odalys:  Hope you are feeling better................how did the CT go?  Also glad that your Mom's infection has cleared up and she is back home.....thinking positive thoughts for you all.  Yea on PinkStock!!

Gotta get my logs turned in before 6 so better run..............hope all have a great night!

Susan:  If you're reading.......................I'll be there!

    Hugs,

    Neesie

Jas ... that's not possible the way the law works. I could go on Cobra for a few years but I'd have to pay for it and it's very expensive. That's probably the avenue I'll take after the divorce is final but until then I need this "free" ride. We're way past the alimony stage and at the time of the separation I made almost twice what he did. With him paying child support and me paying alimony it was a wash.

BooSue: Glad the onc appt went well. I'm on neurontin and have been on it since before my bc for neuropathy. It's helped me and I imagine it's reduced the number of hot flashes I get. I still get them but I don't help with the caffiene, smoking and wine! Lisa is right, you take it and gradually increase to the level that's right for you.

Neesie ... thank you, I worked hard for this! It's so nice to see you here, I've missed you! You always make me smile or laugh!

Madison ... Wine sounds good to me!

Kathy_IN ... Good to see you pop back in. Hope you can more often!
