TIME TO CIRCLE THE WAGONS GIRLS

Hi everyone. I am back from work and my ds's belt test (he passed). I am now watching this Green Bay game with much amusement. I haven't been in snow like that for over 25 years. That is how football was meant to be played.
I did not take notes but did read. Yes the housing market it is a little slow compared to 5 years ago. If you look at it over all though this is actually just the way it usually is. The only problem I have right now is that there is a large inventory so people want to see more homes before making a decision. Today I had to take someone back to 2 homes she already saw and then take some else to 1 home they already saw. The decision process is in the works for both of them. Anyway, regardless of what you read in the paper or hear on the news there are still people buying homes. O.K. I promise that is the conculsion of my real estate class.
It is so good to see new people and some oldies coming back. I love this circle.

Good Morning Wagon Circle: Bringing some sunshine your way and hoping you have a fantastic day.
Its gonna be another fun Sunday. More football. Were getting close now to the superbowl. Im having a hard time picking the teams for today. The Colts should win, but those Chargers are looking good and motivated. So Im thinking that will be a great game. The Cowboys looked so good for most of the football season, but I dont know - something is off kilter now - so the Giants could very well win. Im sure that would surprise Gina! Its hitting the news here in the Chicago end of the circle that Romo spent last week-end in Mexico with his little blonde girlfriend. They are saying she jinxed him. If they lose, I would hate to be Romo cause then he would be blamed for the Cowboys losing their chance 2 years in a row.
Boo: It was so good to hear from you. Seems like I havent talked to you in the longest time. Im hoping life is being kind to you. Sending a big hug your way as you put a smile on my face this morning just hearing from you.
Liz: A quick hidey ho to you too.
Gina: What a beautiful picture of you and Ferne. You are both shining with love. When I think about the horrendous year that Ferne has had it really puts my life into perspective. You both are beautiful. Your kindness and support to others always amazes me, especially with everything you have been through this past year. Sending love to both you and Ferne. Thanks for the picture - it made me feel good today.
BMD: That football game was something. The snow was so pretty. Perfect weather for Lambert field. The housing market is slow here in Illinois. Lots of houses for sale and not getting sold. Sometimes I wonder if people just put their houses up for sale just to see how much they could get without having any real intentions of moving. Hope you have a great Sunday.
Sahalie: I was watching the news last night and they actually talked about the Maverick. Showed the waves and who won. I think they said it was Greg Long! My DH wanted to know how I knew so much about it. Just smiled to myself. I think they referred to it as killer point. Those waves are just beautiful.
Margo: Your DH does sound like a keeper thats for sure. Hoping your birthday week-end is being grand and that your having a wonderful time.
Wild/Jan: Im waving hello to you. Just waiting for you to post your morning sunshine picture.
Barb: Im waving hello to you too. Hope today is a great one.
Well I did take Mister for his walk. It was nice being outside even though I had to wear a coat. Those yellow roses I saw last week. They were real. Yesterday their petals were finially falling off. Must have gotten frozen while they were still in bloom. I think thats one of the weirdest things I have seen in along time. The cat that had kittens, she is pregnant again. Im hoping I get to see those little kittens run around and play like I did a few months ago.
As I read through the many posts all over bco, Im seeing so many people need our help and support. Makes me realize how small my problems are compared to whats going on with others. We really need to put many in the middle of the circle. Thats really why this thread was started. To support those who are going through such hard times.
Ive put more logs on the fire. Hope to see some of you today. Would love to just chat about new and old times.
Have a wonderful sunday.

BMD: I agree, the Packers/Seahawks game was soo much fun to watch with them playing in the snow. That Is the way it's meant to be played! The Jaguars played respectfully against the Patriots and that was a good game too. Tom Brady breaking more records. Funny, the announcer said "ho-hum" with tongue in cheek at the end of the game.
Ferne: You are incredible and beautiful! Thinking of you.
BooSue: Hugs back to you!
Liz: Hideyho girlfriend!
Amy: Sending you big comforting hugs.
Jasmine: It was so nice talking to you yesterday. You are a real good cookie.
Well tomorrow is my Onc appt and my sister wants me to have the BRCA genetic testing. I asked about this when I was first dx'd in March and she said my family history didn't require it. I'm the only one in a family of 6 women that includes my mom to have gotten breast cancer and I got it at age 42. I am the youngest in my family. My mothers sister was dx'd with it in her 50's but her daughter was dx'd in her 30's. I usually see that if you're dx'd young, which they consider under 50, that it's a strong case for the testing. If I want this test shouldn't my Onc just get it for me? I know it's expensive but I have two young daughters and I want to know. I'd appreciate any advice or input anybody may have regarding this. I am going to be checking out the threads devoted to this testing again today to see if I can enlighten myself more.

Hi everyone~
Gina - GREAT pic of you and Ferne!
I am still battling the flu. Went to pick up a birthday cake for Mark yesterday, and got very dizzy while standing in line. Ended up canceling our dinner reservations. I HATE it that I was sick on his birthday. I think it bothered me more than him! We ordered pizza and ate cake, which is from a local bakery. It's a 4-layer chocolate with raspberry between layers, covered in chocolate grenache. It's to die for. I of course wasn't so sick I couldn't eat a slice of it!
Tamiful is a miracle drug. Can't believe my improvement from Fri night to yesterday!
BF Mark is back in class today. He's attending a refresher pilot training class all weekend. He is hopeful to get me into a small plane with him....we'll see about that. His mom swears he's a good pilot.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I'm going to be a veg today all day...may not even change out of my Garfield pjs.
Hugs,
Donna

Awww Donna, that's too bad you had to cancel but I'm sure it bothered you more than Mark. He probably was just happy to be with you. Wow, a pilot?! How exciting! That cake Does sound devilicious! Sounds like a good idea to stay in those pj's and rest. You need to do that while you're fighting this flu!0

Good Morning sisters...as I went to get the newspaper I noticed this shades of purple sunrise!

GINA>great pic of you and FERNE. I bet she was glad she had somebody she could talk to who can understand.
ANGEL>I had the gene testing done as I am the first we know of to have BC in my family and thankfully found out I don't have the gene. So my daughter and my cousins are breathing a little easier. My dad's parents both had colon cancer. It does sound like bc runs in your family so I am surprised they haven't tested you for the gene.

Wild/Jan: Just another gorgeous picture! My sister was also surprised my Onc nixed the gene testing. My father also had prostate cancer so I think that is another good reason for me to have the test!

Good Morning Everyone,
Jan, beautiful pics, as usual--thank-you !
Nicki, I'm waving back--sounds like you really enjoy football. I watch when the Bills play, and I watch
the Superbowl. I don't know much about football---I know when they score a touchdown, and when they get a field goal !!!!
Charlene, I love the angel picture you posted. A friend of mine lost a sister at 39, now another sister who just turned 39 is going through a really bad time-she had a masectomy last year, now has mets to her bones and brain, her baby just turned a year old---so my friend had the testing done and it came out positive, so she had ovaries removed, and this Wed. is having double masectomy. I am one of seven sisters, and the third one to have bc.
Ok, sorry I know there are some I missed, hope you All enjoy your day.
hugs to ALL0 -
Barb, Thank you, I love the artistic angel pics myself! Oh my that is just terrible about your friends sisters. So very sad too about the one now with mets and a year old baby! My baby was 17 months old when I was dx'd and that was so very hard but I don't have mets on top of everything else. I probably would have been dx'd even younger myself had I not been pregnant at forty and skipped my mammogram until I was weaning and found my lump. Your friend made a wise choice to have her surgeries. Have you had the genetic testing or anyone in your family?

Good morning Campers. Rise and shine!
The sun is out and its warming up on this side of the circle. I'm getting ready to meet some friends for lunch and a movie today.
Angel -- it was nice talking to you too. I know things are going to work out fine.
Jan -- more beautiful pictures. I don't see any purple though. It must be my computer monitor. I really need to get a new camera.
Puppy -- how are you feeling today? Is the throat any better? Hugs to ya.
Donna -- sorry to hear you are not feeling well. There seems to be an awful lot of this going around.
Well, I'm off for food and fun. I'll check in later. Have a fantabulous day everyone.

Mornin' everyone. Well....-22 degrees here this morning. Weather like this is why I insisted on having a heated garage when we built this house! DH is gone this week, so the girls and I are keeping the home fires burning.

Good Sunday Morning friends.
hehehehe...love and hugs to all the circle friends.

Woops...that posted before I was finished! Hmmm...hit the wrong button
Angel - My Onc was not the one who decided on my genetic testing. I was sent to a genetics counselor. She sat with me for about an hour and created a family cancer "pedigree" for me...I thought that was such a funny word to use for it! It included all the facts about my cancer: how old I was, what type etc. Then she went through my whole family back 3 generations and all the way out to my second cousins. Then somehow she put all that info in a computer, and each thing was assigned a point value...not exactly sure how that part worked, but the closer the relative that had cancer was to me genetically, the more "points" it was worth. Then all the points are added up and it tells you if you need the testing or not. I needed it, and that session also showed that I needed to be tested for a different gene mutation, Pten that connects a bunch of different typed of cancers on my dad's side of the family. I was negative for the Braca genes, but the tests are still out for Pten. SO....all that to say, ask to go to a genetics counselor and see if you can get your testing. Hope you are feeling better every day.

Woops is right Deb. I wasn't finished either. It seems the site is experiencing some tech difficulties.

Deb C .. yikes, I thought it was cold here in the 30's! I've heard of genetics counselors. That is very interesting how they do that! I will ask my Onc to refer me to one. Thank you for the great information. I guess I should do some homework and go back another generation! I am feeling better each day. Thanks so much!
Odalys .. Good morning to you!
Jazz .. Enjoy your food and fun today!

Angel - Yes, I forgot to mention that...you need to get as much family info as you can on cancer, as far back as you can go. she enev took the info about my Mom's, Aunt's kids...is that second cousin, or first cousin once removed? I can never keep that straight!
My insurance (BXBS) gave me all kinds of "NO" as far as paying for my testing until the genetics counselor said I needed it...then they paid without question.
Good Morning Odalys....how about sending me 10 or 15 degrees of warmth? I don't think we will get above zero today!

Hope this helps those of you interested in BRCA testing.
Hi DebC and Hi5. Will catch up with everyone later as the pre football game talk shows are on and Im watching them.

Hi all, I don't even know where I left off so here goes.
Amy, you checked in from your blackberry with numb fingers and tiny keyboard. Don't worry, I have problems with the iPhone and my fat fingers - at least they feel fat when I keep typing the wrong letters. The iPhone should have a stylus.
Angel, I can't imagine a birthday month either but she's celebrated for years. Good luck at the onc. tomorrow. As far as the BRCA test, my ob/gyn has recommended we get it.
Gina, great pic.
Liz, sis just got here with her laptop and knitting so if I can tear her away from football, I'll get started on knitting.
Nicki, the 6 finalists in the Mavericks had all decided to split the winnings, no matter who won, so they're all winners.
Sahalie, love Brett Favre. The weather was perfect for Maverick yesterday. Did it take long to get in and out of there? They said tens of thousands of people went.
