Annette, so happy things are getting brighter. Buddy, I hope I did not scare you about my burns.  I was so unusual. I just didn't want you wishing that you had the cream that turned out to no big solution.

Oh...I am excited!  Rita and Dave, Laura and Roy and their niece will meet for the brunch aftre the walk/race.  I do not need to know until September  23 (a Wednesday)  if you are coming.  I am substitute teaching that week so I need to plan on the food.  Anyone from "Surrender" is invited and they do not need to know me.  As Laura says, "We are united that day."

If you are unable to walk/run (no problem).  Consider stopping by at the house if you live close enough  I  do not know times yet, but can let you know that when we get closer.  I will ask Laura to help me with a group e-mail using the Addy List as she is our tech on duty and she can help me figure out a map.

Spent the day making SLOOOOOOOW shrimp creole for my daughter's birthday dinner request.  Party is tomorrow.  Ironically we are going to Cat on a Hot Tim Roof tonight.  It is that steamy and hot play by  Tennessee Williams set in New Orleans.  Women my age may remember Paul Newman and Elizabeth Taylor in the movie.  I'll bet Miss Wendy has see it! I love creole cooking.

    Have a great evening.

Had to stop in and say...wow !!!! do I ever remember  "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof" and I know I saw it several times.  My take.....Elizabeth Taylor....hmmm, ok...  Paul Newman --- I'm almost still lost in those beautiful blue eyes.  In my mind he will always be a hunk and because he was so good looking I tend to romanticize him with attributes he probably never had....though he had enough to make Joanne Woodward happy enough to be his life-long mate.

    Hugs,

    Jackie

Morning...back in London, I see (or actually I don't see....much of anything!)  And I don't think my sinuses like this weather at all...or I might have an infection - all clogged up.  Will be calling the doc tomorrow for something.  Yuck!

Jackie....Happy Birthday, Girl!  Have lots of cake!  If you drive up, I will wash your car for you as a present!  Oh..what was that?  You washed it yesterday?  Too bad.....

Annette...glad so far your testing is coming back B9!  Yay!

Susan....yes indeed, I have seen "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" with Liz and Paul - many times!  VERY steamy movie!  How's PT going?  And you are already subbing?  Good for you!

I'm late today...so need to get some breakfast so I can take some OTC sinus stuff.  Helps a little but I need something stronger.  Have a great Sunday everyone...looks like the weather will hold for another week!

Morning Girls...Oh what a great weekend. The weather is perfect for a boat ride. Yesterday I spent the whole day on the lake and became one with the water. It was so calm and peaceful and not to many boaters out on the lake. I so enjoyed soaking up that sunshine. Today is another great day for boating..so you know were I'll be..yup on the water.

Jackie..hope you are having a wonderful bday. Enjoy!!!!

Wendy...all stuffed up. If you have green stuff it's a sinus infection...so antibiotics are called for. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Susan..how is your back feeling. Are you doing a lot of subbing now? I am finally starting to get into a small routine..but I am not there yet. 5am comes around to soon for me. lol I really need extra sleep.

Rita....how is your back. I am using a heating pad daily that I throw in the micro. It works well for me. I can move around with it on and feel good.

Annette...glad to hear that you got good news. Good news is always good to hear. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Laura..how is your casa child doing. You are doing a wonderful thing for her and making an impact in her life. Keep up the good work.

Smerf...I hope you have a wonderful quite day. Bubbles take me a way. lol

Connie..hope you get a boat ride in today..Not to many days left until next year.

Well to all I missed I hope you are doing well with txs. Enjoy this wonderful day.

Off to the boat....Go Bears game to night. I do hope the win.!!!

    Have a great day...remember to be healthy...be happy...enjoy life.

So, guess what I actually did do yesterday Wendy, just so I really wouldn't have to wash my car on my birthday....which I would have since it was so dirty.  Thank all of you for the great birthday wishes.  Today, I am 64 years and one magical moment young.

Oh yes....the magical moment  ----  well that would be when I wrote my very first post here w/o ever having been on a BLOG before and hit the submit button. My terror and upset and the complete loss of the world as I knew it was not fixed quite that soon, but it didn't take long to feel welcomed, cared about, understood and from that minute on I did not fight alone.

Hope all of you as well have a stunning day.

    Hugs, Jackie

    Happy Birthday, Jackie!

We actually talked to the director  of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" and he said he kept to the orignal message of the playwright, Tennessee Williams (Brick had sexual orientation issues) while the movie implied that a few Viagra pills would have done the trick for Paul newman's character.  I need to reread  the play to understand.

Thanks for asking about the hip.  I am icing, heating and exercising.  I love my PT so much that I want like heck, for her sake, to get it perfect.  It is not that right now.  My doctor had suggested a cortisone (sp?) shot, but wasn't too excited to do. that.  I know it is improving....just slowly.

Yes, I am subbing but I am very selective.  I do not do anything below  and I do not do math, science or PE.  Thus I have just a few jobs, but enough to get to see my buddies and make a liitle money too add to my pension.

So have a very happy day, all!

Home from the bronchoscopy.  Not the most fun test I have ever done, Doc said he should have results by the time I see him a week from tomorrow.  He gave no hints as to if he could tell anything from looking at the lung and nodule today.  He probably wouldn't just in case he was wrong.  Waitn  and finishing rads this week.  If tests are OK then we are almost done.  Just herceptin every 3 weeks till March.  Annette

Oh everyone...just heard on my news flash that Patrick Swayze passed away from his pancreatic cancer.  As usual it seems so wrong that this happens, and to such young people.  He was just 57.

Speaking of age...I am going to the nursing home tomorrow night for a small celebration ( mainly just ice cream and cake  ) for my SIL ( sis-in-law ) Heidi who will be 54.  She is still recuperating from the broken hip, as well as the by-passes done in her legs and feet.  She still needs by-passes in her arms and some stents around the the one non-functioning kidney.  Such a long road still to go.  Has been in medical facilities -- hospital or extended care since June !st. this year.  Talkk about your summer being gone.  No matter how rotten ours may have seemed....at least, we were participating in it.

Hmmm --- spent my b-day just playing with the pups and on my computer.  Denny had to work so we went out and had a nice salad together when he got home.  It was nice and peaceful and later we finished the cake one of my co-workers made and gave me.  It's been a very nice birthday for me as birthdays go.

Tomorrow a friend is taking me to lunch at the Casino Queen which is another b-day gift.  I'll truly enjoy that as well.

Hope you all had a wonderful day.  I had a check up at Mt. Vernon V.A.  Have to go next and get mammograms....it's time for that.  Always something fun going on. See you all in the morning.

    Hugs, Jackie

Good morning.  It looks like another georgous day. The kids have a half day of school. No word on the PET scan yet.  I was just getting ready for bed last night when our Golden Retriever decided to roll around in somthing when we let him out.  Oh ...the joy of owning a dog.

I made stuffed peppers from the garden yesterday.  Does anybody have a good easy way to make them.  I put rice or stuffing in mine and its getting boring.  Love Buddy

Jackie...It sounds like a nice birthday to me!  When is your mammo scheduled and how did the check-up go?

Buddy, we were thinking alike yesterday.  I also made stuffed peppers.  I stuff mine with lean ground round, onion, stewed tomates (diced up small) rice and tomato juice.  After par-boiling the peppers I put a layer of the above mixture, a layer of mild shredded cheddar cheese, a layer of the meat/rice mixture and top with another layer of cheese.  Then I add tomato juice to the pan and bake.  I always make enough for left-overs!  They tasted so good last night!

Well I'm off to walk before doing some grocery shopping.  I'm playing 9 holes of golf this afternoon and then going to yoga.  The gal down the road who I met through Reach to Recovery has her surgery today so I want to check in on her this evening, too.  I guess that means I should get moving and off this computer.

    Everyone have a good day!

Good morning everyone.  My check-up went fine yesterday and I had lost a pound somewhere.  That was good news.  I dolubt whether that is from the chocolate yet....I just haven't eaten it long enough I don't think.....although it did dull my appetite immediately.  My cholestrol ( never had that issue before ) is still more than they would like, but apparently my sugar level only a little up since the Ins. company or who??? changed the numbers, was not mentioned...so I assume it has gone done.  Don't know if that is the chocolate, but it is one of the things it handles too.  Actually it handles the big four for me....wt. cholestrol, sugar, and heart.  A re-test was done of my cholestrol and Dr. will call today if it is still high.  If so....,I am not going to do anything about it just now.....and give the chocolate time to exert a good effect.  Oops....I mean, she will call me tomorrow and let me know.

I have to call in and see about the mammo schedule.....they have made the appt. but she needs to give me instructions....like no deodrant etc. I think.

Buddy...marvelous to have to give a dog a bath right before bed huh !!!!!  We rub baby powder ( watching carefully due to powder dust ) into our dogs and hold the bath till the next morning.  Might depend on just what IT was though.  It's the one truly um-pleasant thing of having a dog live with you.....that and losing them when they get old.

I'm off and running and funning for the day.  Talk to ya'll later.

    Hugs, Jackie

Thank you Nana and Jackie,  I hope I never forget the feelings I have today.  I am so greatful and thankful.  Nothing else really matters.  Being told you have cancer and tehn being told you dont have it anymore.  I realize life is a wonderful gift. Everytime I get upset about somthing or break a dish or I am in a bad mood for some reason.  I hope I can remember today, and remember how I feel and remember what is really important.  Because nothing else really matters, not how much money I have or what other people think of you orwhat kind of car I drive. Today I received the untimate gift. (peace of mind).

Happy belated Birthday Jackie - sounds like you had a nice day!  Hope you had fun at Casino Queen - they are one of our customers.  If you wrote a check there - it ran though my company.

Buddy - Congrats!  That is great news and I'm sure a great relief to you.  So happy for you!

I had my 6 mo with my surgeon yesterday.  Just saw the onc a few weeks ago so didn't expect much, but I do feel like I get the best breast exam from my surgeon.  Glad I see them both.

Thinking of everyone I haven't mentioned.  Enjoy this beautiful weather!
