    Can't seem to get Laura and her family out of my mind.  How terrible!

    We were going to go fishing today but the boat motor wouldn't turn over and we have to replace a part that was not in stock.  Guess  I will try to get some things done around here.

    Good morning....I had to take out my post and re-edit it as it was going to make the blog entries wonky...starting with my quote .  The mods gave me a solution for it and I got lucky and was able to correct it myself this time.   That explains the "deleted" portion of my entry.

    It has been gorgeous and cool here but will warm up to more of a normal temp. the rest of this week.  I was enjoying needing a jacket at night.  Was pleasant sitting out but you do need insect repellent.

    Thanks, Karen.  I will hold out hope that I don't lose them.  I cut them really short after Lago's post about trauma, and I do think I'll keep them polished.  It seems like it would add some strength. 

    Momto7, a quick healing to you.  Take it easy.  I hated the drains but they are temporary.

    Twohobbies I agree the drains were the worst part, but u know they'll be taken out so it makes it all right.

    Thanks Boatin- maybe I can pm you about how it went- sounds like similar surgery. Where are you in Algonquin? Im south of Westfield School.

    I loved last weeks weather! was able to get out walking not long after the lx.  Too bad its hotter this week. I'm trying to focus on being up and around as soon after the bmx this weekend, and thinking positive that the te pain wont be as bad as Im thinking.

    Aviva really and ttruly it was the least painful surgery I ever had, my sister said the same thing we were so surprised so I'm hoping u'rs will be the same--In fact we were waiting for some pain--nothing LOL

    It really is amazing how little pain is involved in the surgery.

    Another good one jackie.

    Tim I honestly think a lumpectomy has more pain, cuz thing are being cut out leaving things in there that was maybe cut. But taking things out there's nothing left to hurt, and I didn't feel any stitches or anything-it was just odd to me.

    That makes sense.  Breasts are sensitive.  When one is gone, it's gone.  Like pulling a tooth.  Actually, 2 years later, I'm still pretty numb.

    Tim I'm still numb under my arms and in certain areas, I figure there are nerves removed so no feeling no pain. (my theory)

    camilegal I am feeling pretty good some pain on my left where he had to do a bit more in removing some skin but other than that i have not had to take amy pain pills since Monday morning. Drains are still in tho ugh! maybe thursday ahd to change tape too it was causing problems Frown but I have been able to see them they look good and so far I am happy with them  lol

    twohobbies i lost my finger nails too and some toe nails it sucks my thum nail is not growing back right may have to have it looked at soon  hope yours grow back fast mine are growing slowwww

    I agree with camillegal. The reason why I think lumpectomy huts more is because with MX they mess up the nerves and you get very numb. With lumpectomy it seems less nerve damage so you feel it.

    Momto Oh I'm so glad u'r doing OK--yea the drains are a PITA and are aggrevating to empty and clean and stuff and sometimes it pulls I think without knowing.

    OH LAGO Thank u--I feel like I actualy had a theory that's workable. hahaha

    You are correct about lumpectomies.  The nerves are still functioning.  My scars are still tender after two years.  I just had nipple reconstruction which included some remaining areola.  Yikes, very intense pain after surgery, but I have sensation in my new nipple that isn't possible with MX.

    Been on vacation in Wisconsin for the last couple weeks, one more week then back to work.

    Good Morning All,

    I have been insanely busy this year for which I am grateful. I have had a wedding shower and two weddings (one in florida one extra reception in chicago) Flooded basement, Broken bridge (now working on implants), many clients (thank you God), planning the younger sons shower and wedding in NewYork this may. Found out I am going to be a Grandma. YEAHHHHHH!!!Now I am an empty nester (youngest left for college on Monday), Life is very good, I am feeling very blessed.

    But, I am looking for info before I see my Onc again. Are they saying for sure, that we should keep taking these darn estrogen sucking drugs forever????

    Please no.....

    Onward if you are talking about the AIs the studies are not complete yet. Here's a link to: How Many are doing 10 years on Aromatase Inhibitors thread. Lots of studies and reports by others talking to their oncs.

    BTW I had dinner with oconnor2450 last night from New England (but grew up here). Very nice pretty lady. We had a nice dinner.
