Please let us know how it went, 2TA. If sheep-counting worked we can all raise a cheer--but very quietly so we don't wake you up!

Awww, how sweet! Thanks! Got to sleep around 2 am, up and into a chair and fell back to sleep. Just doing little things around the house, figured out how to wash my hair. Made me a THICK soup for lunch, don't want to overdo. I was using melatonin, too, but don't want to mix that with prescription pain meds and OTC meds.

Maddy, I *think* melatonin is ok with prescp meds, but if you might want to start back on it, would be good to ask the pharmacist. Glad you are taking it easy!

Thanks, Wahine, may give the pharmacy a call. What a perfect set-up: since I can't shower, you know what word word comes to mind: heat + no shower, of course = STINK!

So, Wahine, are you all settled in after your last trip? Is there another one planned?

Zogo, any THING special planned for the summer?

Oh I know you will enjoy that shower when you get it! Just think, all that hot water can help to work the kinks out of all the sore muscles. (I have been working on the deck on my hands and knees, and omg my back is sooooo sore....been sanding, scrubbing, and staining, but just a few boards so far). Not sure if we will be going off this weekend or not...have reservations, but depends on my DD, and if its ok for us to be gone. My parents just returned today from 3 wks in HI, so I need to spend time with them too.

Nighty night girls!! Lets see...we can have melatonin, we can count sheep......

....or just stay up until we get sleepy. There are all kinds of things we can do!

Actually I am pretty sleepy, or at least tired, already. I've been packing more glass today. Lots and lots and lots of glass! It has gotten to the point where even my mom says she didn't realize there was so much of it!! But I think the concierge-service lady she talked to yesterday will take it all on consignment and sell it at her other sales, on Ebay etc. For a "consideration" of course! But there is so much of it that my mom would never get through selling it all, besides computers not being her favorite thing in the world. I've bought a few things on Ebay but never sold. I did look into that as a possible side-line for income, but there is quite a learning curve to it and I never got around to learning how to sell things well via online auctions.

Well, selling on eBay, could lead you to drink! Used to be easy-peasy, but seems more difficult now. I used to be a big seller on eBay as I love to shop, so would buy bargains, then sell and make a little bit. BUT more regulations now, plus postage has gone up so much. I like selling on Amazon.com better, but you make less, as they have a set amount you get for postage depending on the classification of the item, NOT on the weight of that item. AND that is better for new items, as it has to be in their catalogue. So now I have an attic full of new stuff I had bought to sell, but have lost interest in doing it. I always have lots of toys to donate to ToysForTots though.

A big job, packing up all that glassware! Would be nice to at least get a little bit for it, and let that other lady do the selling. When do you move? Getting closer to moving date, but I forget when you said it would be. How is the remodeling coming along in your new place, Curve?

@wahine, this glass is driving my mom & me to the brink of distraction! It seems like there is always "one more box" and then just when I think I have got all of a particular pattern separated and packed, I find another few pieces of it hiding behind something else.

The remodel is just getting under way. The crawlspace cleanout was supposed to be done starting this week. I just got an email from the contractor saying he would start demo inside the house next Monday. I don't have an exact date yet for when the bath will be done and I'll be able to move in. I still need to harass some suppliers on the phone, they say "we'll call you back", but then they don't.

I hear you! Had the same thing Curveball when I was packing my parents' linen cabinet- just when I thought I had them all packed, more would just show up! Crazy making! Are you getting excited to move in?

So tired of this! Waiting for the good times! You're right, Wahine, so ready to drink! Would be happy to BRING a pitcher of margaritas (strawberries are perfect for that now!), where do we meet?

Let's see.....we could go to where Lord of the Rings took place, but I have no idea where that is! Strawberry Margaritas sound heavenly, wherever we end up....

Wahine, I think you have a grain of salt stuck on your nose! You must be tipping the glass all the way up to get the last yummy drop. Would you like a refill?

@wahine, the Lord of the Rings was filmed in New Zealand, I think. I've never been there but I've heard it's beautiful, and it sure looks beautiful in those movies! New Zealand ranks high on the list of places I'd like to see. I don't really enjoy travel very much, so there are only three places on the list: New Zealand, Alaska and go to England again. I don't know what order I'd put them in but when there are only three, they all rank high!

Very cool list you have, Curveball! Never officially put together a list, but New Zealand would be on it. I believe their seasons are opposite, they're going into winter. Tired of the heat, could use some cool weather. Wondering if they have many ice RINKS there.

Yes, good choices curve! LOVE New Zealand, soooo much! One of the favorite places that I would love to return to someday. I'll never forget driving to the beach, and seeing sheep in a pasture across the road, and snowcapped mountains in the distance! They have pretty waterfalls there and fjords, and even alps! Been to Alaska many times on cruises (and my DH proposed to me on the train to Denali). But only stayed one night in England, so don't know much about it, although my dad's mum came from there. Nowadays, with the internet, it makes it so easy to plan trips by finding links that can show you the country, what to do there, etc.

It takes a little skill to plan a trip by yourself on the internet. Wahine, you must be very good at planning with all the traveling you have done.

LOL Jane, not sure of any skill, but I end up doing ALL the travel plans for my parents as well. Sometimes I wonder if adversity resides in my mind to sabotage "best laid plans", as I once had us flying in to Tampa, but our cruise was leaving from Port Charlotte (other side of the state). My dad didn't mention it till the night before we left. Luckily I always plan to arrive a day before a cruise (thats important!) and was able to rent a van at the last minute and we had time to drive there and spend the night. Had enough time after debarkation too, to drive back to Tampa to make our flights home! The plus was that we got to drive thru "alligator alley" which was awesome and I counted a gazillion (well.....almost!) alligators. My DH likes going on cruises (he likes to eat! lol). Well, gotta pack and hit the road in a few minutes!

Where are you going, wahine? I am pooped out! Glass, glass, and more glass! I finished off another pattern today and think I have all the ones that my parents had a large quantity of. I hope the others will only be a couple of boxes each. I don't know if I will take this evening off and go for it again tomorrow, or try to give it a few more licks after dinner.

Curve, I think you deserve to slack off a bit and have a nice dinner. Bet there are plenty of glasses to chose from for your beverage. Teehee

Hmmm.....how about a Black Russian drink? Yeah, it sure does sound like you have plenty of glasses....wow. We're in Tunica, at the casinos, so lots to drink here! Don't work too hard......

@wahine, oh yes there are glasses galore and lots of them for alcoholic beverages. Cocktail glasses, liquer glasses, cordial glasses, wine glasses. But since I almost never take anything stronger than wine, and that not often, I will pass on the Black Russian. A drink like that, with two kinds of distilled liquor, would put me under the table in short order, and probably give me a nasty headache afterwards. That would not be helpful at this point!!

Yesterday my mom and I sat down with a calendar to block out the move and what needs to happen when. It turns out the first day she can schedule her move-in is the 2nd of August. I've also run into a schedule snag on my remodel, so I'm going to see whether the contractor can do the job backwards from what we planned and refurbish the bathroom the very last thing instead of the very first thing. That way I can move into the back bedroom in two weeks. Time to buy a mattress, and get the phone hooked up.

Hoping your contractor can change the order of things for you, curve! While reading the paper on the way here yesterday, I found out there is a huge flock of Canada Geese that are now making their home in our downtown park with a natural spring-fed pond. They said there are about 300, which is waaaaaay too many for the size of the park, and they said they now have to power-wash the sidewalks a lot more often! lol. Well, its true, but also the only word I could think of quickly!
