2ta, I don't think he is a good plumber! Oh no, he slumped over the pump.... and I saw bumps! eeewwwww Sealed

W, I wake up in the middle of the night alot. Mostly to pee all of this water I drink...especially since it's so dang hot.

Do you think he has the mumps?

(Jane, I had forgotten to take my melatonin, so at 4am added a xanax, and FINALLY slept! I am lucky that I don't need to get up in the middle of the night, BUT hot flashes wake me up every so often. But the nightly melatonin helps alot (the timed release)).

I wonder why plumbers don't care that their rumps aren't covered up. I sure would be embarrased if my clothes revealed that much whenever I bent over!

And it's a good things he doesn't walk up the RAMPS and show off for the crowds.

Wahine, hoping you got some sleep after all!

I wish those partly-clothed plumbers would just go away. Scram, we've already seen more than we wanted to. There's such a thing as TMI, you know!

I'm off to bed soon. Nighty-night.

Yippee those plumbers showing their cracks have ALL left!!! All that icky talk was putting a cramp in our writing!

Don't you head back to NV soon to help your parents finish up the move, 2ta?

Yes, Wahine, I go out to Las Vegas next week (great memory!). Parents will be moved by this time next week.  Modern technology works like a charm, have done so much by text, email, internet and phone call (plus help from one of my bothers). Went out for walk-thru yesterday with DD, the place is gorgeous! This brother hasn't even seen it (neither have my parents, actually) but took lots of photos which I emailed them. Videos too big a file to email. This was a great decision on their part. Can't wait till they're moved and settled!

Hopefully, won't be needing that pesky, indecent plumber - ever!

    Come back Flannelette, come back!!

Oh I hope their move goes very, very smoothly. I hope nothing gets left behind. On your drive home, if you get sleepy stop and get something with caffeine to keep you awake (coffee with cream maybe?).

Putting out at APB for Flannelette!!! I am afraid we scared her off....also looking for anyone who wants to join us here. This is NOT an exclusive thread! Welcome, one and all....

Sigh of relief! My sister & BIL were here most of last week. My sister and I are living proof that astrology is bunk. Our birthdays are not quite a year apart, so we both have the same "sign", but we are opposites in almost every way, including our opinions of BIL. But even though I find it a trying experience to be around the guy for more than a very short time, I will say this: he helped my mom out with a lot of small repairs that needed to be done before putting her house on the market, and was also willing to ferry the love-seat my mom is giving me (she decided to take the sofa-bed instead) to my new place in his big truck. The remodel is really & truly under way. Today I need to go talk to the kitchen-cabinet people. My mom's wanted to move by the first of the month, but there were no open spots on the calendar until Aug 13. They only move one person in per day. With luck, I will have a functional bathroom by the time she moves! Then I'll finally be able to live in my house.

Argh! Just this once I didn't preview, and there is wahine sliding in ahead of me with the same word. I could now change it to talk about the food we had while DS & BIL were here. It is about the right time of year to have had a yummy berry pie...only we didn't, it was apple!

Hmmmm......we have fresh peaches here, could we retry dessert and make a peach pie? Or a peach cobbler? Or maybe a peach daiquiri?

(Glad your BIL did help out, even though it was a very trying visit. Also glad the remodel is getting underway.)

mmmmm! Peach cobbler! We have a favorite recipe in our family that was in the Better Homes & Gardens cookbook my mom had when we were growing up. It's called Peach-a-berry cobbler and in addition to the peaches has  blueberries in it. It's really yummy. I adapted the recipe to what I call "Fake-a-berry" cobbler, using canned peaches and frozen blueberries, and the results are almost as good as with fresh fruit. I also have a recipe for peach marmalade somewhere around here, and that is also very tasty.

By the time I have a usable kitchen, all the summer fruit will probably be gone, and I don't have a garden this summer either. I think I'll try some straw bales, but it's too late to do anything for this summer except maybe some radishes and salad greens, so I'll start broccoli plants to overwinter and get my herbs going. No garden, no home canning--I guess I will have to knit or sew something, or bake a cake, if I want to submit an entry for the County Fair!

Ohhhhh I just had dinner, but would love a teeny piece of that cobbler! I'll look in my BH&G  cookbook from '68 or '69 and see if that recipe is in there. I have 2 of their newer editions, but just love the one I got when I first got married!

OK but just a little one. Sweets are the enemy of just about any weight-loss or weight-maintenance plan, and I know at least some of us have the goal of reaching or staying at a healthy weight.

I don't want to be a meany, can I have just a small bite to savor?

Well, OK, if you truly yearn for a bite, you may have just a nibble! Laughing

Of course you can 2ta...I don't think she really meant that sweets are the enemy....its how we react to them. For me, I react badly and can't resist them! Yummmm Yummmmmm.......

I will stick to meats over sweets, please. Although, I did get some new sweeteners and can't wait to try some new low carb baking.

I meant, sweets are the enemy of weight control or maintenance because so many people can't resist them. I'm not completely immune to their lure myself, and must confess that I, too, sometimes sneak a bite of something I'm "not supposed to" eat!

I can only speak for myself about the difference I noticed when I gave up sugar. The cravings were intense for several days. Now, when I eat something that has sugar (like maybe bbq sauce), I am shocked at how sweet it seems.

OMG Curve, I just now noticed that we posted at the same time again, earlier! I must have been a few seconds after you, cause I just now saw it. (The responses to the word "meany")! Sorry everyone!!!

For me, my sweet tooth peeks out and rears its ugly head, and seems to control my cravings waaaaay too much! I agree with you Jane...when I have quit sugar for awhile (which WAS hard for a few days), then the cravings went away. Good for you!
