This is why I made my comment about politcs - I thought this was what happened.

TRENDING: Palin booed on 'Dancing With the Stars'?

     By:
    CNN Political Unit

(CNN) - It's the question the political world is asking after Bristol Palin's debut on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" Monday: Was her famous mother booed by the live studio audience?

That's what appeared to be the case when boos clearly became audible as questioner Brooke Burke was wrapping up an interview with another contestant on the show.

"There's booing in the ballroom - we don't know why," said Burke.

The show then immediately cut to host Tom Bergeron, who was seen sitting next to Palin, about to interview the former Alaska governor.

"I'm here with guest ballroom commentator Sarah Palin, who joins us from Alaska. Sarah, great to have you here," said Bergeron, making no mention of the boos, which had stopped by the time Palin's face was on camera.

Speaking with the Washington Post, the show's executive producer, Conrad Green, said he wasn't sure why the audience was booing. But he doubted it was for Palin, noting that the audience stopped booing when she actually appeared on camera.

"That's my guess, I can't say for sure," he said.

I agree with those who think the judges do play favoritism.  They have already compared Florence to Cloris.  OMG, I hope she doesn't stick around that long.  I want to remember her by her prior work not what she is saying or doing on this show,...turn off.

Wow, missed Michael's scoring.  I don't recall them giving a  3 too often so he is probably going home. I don't think he has the fan based to lift his score or maybe he does and that is why they gave him a very low score.  If you ask me, "the situation" should go home.  He doesn't seem to be taking this seriously.

Odalys, when Bruno gave the 3 score, Tom said, I didn't think there was a 3 paddle.

I agree also that the judges do seem to play favorites in hopes that they can sway the public. I agree though that the bottom two were Bolton and the Situation. I hoped the Situation would go home but Bolton did deserve to go. The Situation isn't taking it seriously, he didn't like the music that the pro picked out because it wasn't the 'type' of music he listens to. Carrie Ann told him he needs to work on his musicality and listen to the music even when he isn't practicing so he can get the feel of the music.

Glad to see in the piece on Monday about Margaret during practice she seems to 'get it' that she doesn't need the comedy to show she can be a great dancer. Bristol seems to be holding her own and she is showing improvement. They did say last night as well as showed the footage from the dance floor about the booing on Monday night and the audience were booing the judges not Palin.

I think it was a wise choice for Bolton to be sent home but I don't think people have to be humiliated to get ratings for these shows.  I don't think Bolton was surprised to be sent home but was just disgusted with the humiliation of getting a "3".  As long as I have watched the show I have never seen even Cloris Leachman get a 3!  I hope the audience does more booing of those judges.  Carrie Ann is the only one who acts professional in her judging, IMO.  The Situation said he didn't even know what the word "musicality" meant.  I sure hope he was joking.  I think he has to be the next to go.

I don't agree that the audience was booing the judges - the booing did not start until after Tom Bergeron ran across the stage.  I was actually pretty ticked that they would try to rewrite history with that clip - if people were booing the judges, they would have booed as the scores were shown - they were cheering at that time.  None of the audience members were even looking at the judges - they were looking in the direction that Tom ran.  I think the producers had some sort of agreement with the Palin camp that they would try to do damage control for her.  The judges seemed flummoxed that there were boos after the fact, so I really believe that the booing was for Palin.  JMHO.

I am not a Palin fan by any reason but it would seem odd that the audience would "boo" her at that particular time when she had been sitting there for the entire show.  I think Bristol is on that show to get more publicity for her mom and Palin is going to find any and all ways to be seen on camera. I am surprised "she" isn't doing the dancing!!Smile

I think they tolerated her presence until they realized she was getting camera time and reacted then.  Of course, it was not the entire audience, it may only have been 20 or so people, but I get ticked off when I see what I believe to be deceit.  It reminds me too much of the book 1984 - "We are at war with the west, we have always been at war with the west.....We are at war with the east, we have always been at war with the east".  Again, it is just how I saw it, clearly others saw it differently.

I think the judges need to be careful and not humiliate poor performers. How are they going to sign up contestants with little experience after seeing Bruno be so harsh? It's one thing to give a low score (which Bolton deserved) and another to be so cruel. I bet the team who recruits celebrities for the show were cringing!

About the judges I liked what Len said on Tuesday night directly to Bruno. something to the effect that although I criticize the performance I also give a positive comment on something that I felt they did right. I don't like the judges when they humiliate the performers, after all the performers are not professional dancers.

I thought it most gracious of Michael Bolton to return and sing tonight (although I was looking forward to hearing Susan Boyle sing....).  I am not getting caught up in this season's performances...not sure why.   I guess for now, my fav is Jennifer Gray.

I agree with you Junie.  So glad to see Cho leave.  I could not stand to watch her dancing.

I watch but was ticked off the way they treated the Situation.  They give a 76 year old woman trying to act sexy decent scores when she can't dance worth crap and poor Situation tries so hard and I think he will be the next to go.  I was never a Florence Henderson fan but I think it is pathetic when women don't act their ages.  I am not "yet" that old but being sexy is for younger gals, IMO.  Or at least she should be sexy in a "76" year old way.  After all, she is dancing on manmade hips and other body parts.  I don't think she is courageous but more desperate to be on camera.  Some of these celebrities just don't know when to retire!  I want my beloved Derek Hough and his gal to win. Now I could watch them for hours!

Medigal - I hear you.  The judges have been so cruel to some of the dancers.  Brunno has been unusually harsh this season.  They always tend to be very judgmental of females.  But, I do agree that Florence should not be getting those scores,  she can't dance.  I think she will get voted off tomorrow unless Palin doesn't get enough votes.

Just saw Bristol dance the jive to the theme of the 'Monkees'. she did OK but technique was not good. she did lose timing in some parts and was not 'hopping' as much as she could have been.

I'm still watching!   But, am trying to record so I can ff and just watch the dancing and scoring.  Did not like the "Monkee's" routine at all--and didn't think Bristol did a very good job.  She just doesn't have "happy feet".    Jennifer G. is still my pick.

I have to say - trying to tango to the Bardy Bunch theme???  I think that was the toughest assignment.  I still love Rick Fox (sigh), what a cutie.  I was disappointed with Jennifer Grey last night - it just wasn't her best.  Bristol looked so loost, I think she is going home tonight.  JMHO

I cannot believe some of that music they select to dance certain routines to!  I did not like that silly routine Jennifer Grey and my fav Derek danced to.  They are far too superior to waste time on stuff like that.  When will they send MAMA BRADY home??  I think the old guy is padding her scores for her kisses she gives him every show!  He is tough on so many others but the old lady has his heart!

Bristol needs to return to being as they call her "a political activist".  I sure hope she puts more energy into that then she does with her dancing.  She just doesn't have that "spark".

The choice of music was something else. Bristol looked so bored. Jennifer Gray amd Darek had a really bad song to dance to. I hope next week is better.

I think it will be Bristol but sure wish it was Florence.  Bristol is lost most of the time and still has that deer in front of the headlights look but at least she is trying.  I don't think the same for Florence.  what is she thinking?  I agree Lenny is mesmorized by Florence.  The lady can't dance!

Yeap, I too don't know where they get the music?  It seems to me, latin dancing requires some latin tunes.  Honestly, a Rumba without some of that sexy latin beat is not a true Rumba...JMO.

Anyone getting the whole Rock week theme?  I'm not.  I just doesn't seem to go with Tango and Paso doble.  I'm very dissapointed this week.
