Dancing with the Stars

Odalys, I didn't think the show was that great, and schizophrenic was a good way to describe it.
I thought Carrie Ann Inaba and Peta looked the rockin-est.
Karina Smirnoff's hair looked horrid. Melissa's outfit still wasn't doing her any justice this week. She looks pretty rough. I noticed tonight for the first time that she's had some plastic surgery done to her face.
Brooke Burke's hair was hideous. However, when her hair got stuck in Maks fingers and she had to joke her way out of it, that was the first time I ever saw her be spontaneous and that was actually fun to watch.
My prediction is that Gladys will go home.

Agreed....most of the song choices were more distracting than enjoyable. As far as the actual dancing; my votes would be for Donald, Roshon, and Maria.

Len has sure been taking nice pills this season.

Please please who was the male, former singer performer with the neck tubes and highly styed hair that was shhown just after Gladys performed?
GInger
Husband told me, Little Richard and maybe he is in a wheel chair but DH thinks the neck tubes might just be jewelry.
I wish him well.

hi all, sorry to say I am not a fan of rock week, so hard to dance to. Did get a laugh out of the three judges + Tom teaming up to 'sing' backup vocals to Bohemian Rhapsody like Queen did in the music video.
Maybe it's just me being a Packers fan but Donald Driver did GREAT. (what a ham, tho!)

I have not seen this program or the UK version where I live. But I watch the Indian version called Jhalak Dikkhla Jaa. It is very lively and very colorful and the contestants often get to dance with the judges or the presenters which is fun to see. Also the judges hug the contestants or give them little gifts too, like a rose or money.

badger, I laughed out loud at the judges & Tom's beginning of Bohemian Rhapsody; that part was excellent!
Judges seemed to love Donald...I thought his dance was okay, better than others, but not that great.
Nancynow, I guess seeing those close-ups of Melissa made that face work so apparent to me. She actually looks the prettiest when they show her talking to the camera when her hair is down and she's got some multi-colored scarves around her neck. The dancing costumes they're putting her in are not doing a thing for her.
Gingerbrew....missed seeing Little Richard...wouldn't surprise me if he's in a wheelchair these days tho. At any rate, he's always been a colorful character.
Oh, and I saw Chaz in the audience. lol

TheDivineMrsM, I saw Chaz too.
I thought the dancing was horrible last night along with the music. I am a rock fan but they killed the music. I was voting for Maks to keep him on but then Tom made an announcement that Melissa was taken to the hospital so I split the voting with Jaleel.
I do enjoy the show....Sherry wants off the show. She is not enjoying it and says it is too hard for her. Saw this on the View.
hugs to all

Candie - Sherry just said that on the view? Not surprised. Brooke asked her about juggling the two shows and family and she made that comment about mom's multitask. It seemed odd. I think last night's show was the worst this season. Everyone was trying so hard to dance to that awful music.
Divine- Just curious...how did you noticed Melissa's face lift? I have to admit I tend to tune her out. She is such a cry baby and always full of drama. Her dancing is hard to watch...too rigid and she looks like she is talking her way through it all. She seems to always be trying to catch up with the music. GRRRRR...hope she gets voted off soon.
Badger - I joined a live DWTS discussion last night while the show was on and most of the people were commenting the same thing about the show. Carson was on GMA this morning saying the same thing. I hope the producers got an earful from the fans so they don't repeat the theme. Keeping my fingers crossed. Donald did well last night. I was a bit distracted with all the facial expressions and intensity they had going on. It seemed way to acted out for my taste. But the judges liked it and so did the fans. He is no twinkle toes for sure.

Lots of that so called "rock" music last night I never heard before and didn't sound like rock music. And who picks "Bohemian Rhapsody" to dance to? It's almost like they intentionally did it so they could get the judges & Tom to do that opening bit.
As for Melissa, I now have a big screen TV, so that's probably why I noticed her looks have been tweaked. Looks like some nose work and some of the skin pulled back. It's not really overly done like some stars (such as Heather Locklear and Cheryl Ladd who both look bad even with plastic surgery).
I didn't hear that Melissa went to the hospital, what's up with that?

I just saw Sherie report on The View about last night. She said Melissa had a mild concussion and whiplash. She also talked about how much she was enjoying it, her low scores and said she hoped she had gotten the votes to stay on.

I was busy trying to clean my house last night in preparation for the house cleaners to come today , so I recorded DWTS. But in between, I got a few glimpses of the stars and their dances and decided that it wasn't even worth watching later on.
One thing that did stick out for me was when Katherine and Mark did their Paso Doble....they were dressed in such tight, black, studded, bada$$ costumes, and Mark was wearing those little wussy boy tennis shoes!!! DOH!!!!
Thanks for the comments, everyone. I think I'll just erase last night's recording.

Odalys, yes I saw it last week.
Sorry to hear about Melissa. wonder if she will be back? See...Maks just can't cut a break!

How the heck did Melissa get a concussion and whiplash?
0 -
How bad could the concussion and whiplash be? She looked fine while dancing last night. Oh wait, maybe she got it after she didn't get the scores she was hoping for....bwahahaha. I know that was not nice. Sorry, she just gets on my nerves with all her crying and whinning.
Candie - I don't think Maks has won the Mirror Ball trophy yet? He and Tony always get the challenging partners. Unlike the golden boy.
0 -
And that's where I think it's fixed. I think Derek is a ratings getter. So they most often give him a good partner so he sticks around for most of the show, therefore the show gets higher ratings when he's there. I don't want to detract too much from him, because he is an awesome dancer, choreographer and teacher, but I believe they stack the deck, so to speak.
Maks hasn't won the trophy yet, and yes, I think it'd be nice if he could be partnered with someone who could potentially win. I used to like Maks a whole lot more, but his attitude the past few seasons has soured me a bit on him.
Poor Tony Dovalani, another no-trophy winner....I'd like to see him get the mirror ball one time, too. I mean, he had to put up with Kate Goslin, for goodness sakes! Yes, he gets the challenging partners!

I think Derek's biggest advantage is his ability to motivate his partners and bring out their best. And it dosen't hurt that his choreography showcases those abilities rather than stretch them too far and set the partner up for failure. Sometime I would like to see him work with a challenge and see how far he could take her in the competition.
But then by the time we first see them they have already had some time to work together.

my guess for tonight is the musician with the hat. what do ya'll think?
0 -
Last night was awful! Trying to do the tango & paso doble to rock music? I don't know how any of the performers were even able to do it.
WTH has happened to Melissa Gilbert??!! She looks like an old lady now.
The football player was good, he's the first sports contestant that I've liked. Do think it will be Gladys or the Gavin guy going home.
0 -
Dang already wrong about Gavin! Next guess is Aretha
0 -
Chabba - I agree Dereck is good. I too would like to see him paired up with a challenged dancer to see how he handles the challenge. He seems to be really hard on his partners.
Onvacation and Denise - It's a close call between those two celebs. I'm thinking Gladys but maybe her fans saved her. Gabin probably doesn't have as many fans as Gladys. This is one tough competition.
I really wish it was Melissa going home. Hey, maybe she drops out....probably not.
0 -
OK I'm just going to stop guessing! Looking like someone with high score and low fan base will be going home!
0 -
I am already going to be mad, because the people I think were the worse are already safe!!
0 -
WTH? Oh, oh...
0 -
I want to go to Vegas!!!!!!!!!!
0 -
Okay, so it's Sherrie who's gone.....I don't have a problem with that.
Odalys, my DH and I are planning to got to Vegas this summer and I will have to get tickets to see the new DWTS show there!
0 -
Yeah, I'm OK too. I would have been really mad if it had been Rashon!
0 -
Well, Sherri leaving is no shocker. My heart was racing thinking hunky Levy would be voted off. I know he messed up last night but I really want him to win. I know, I know, I'm biased. He is such eye candy!
Divine - lucky you. That must be one fun show. Please take some pics and do share with us.
Now we know why Lacey is not dancing this season. She is off to Vegas along with the other hunky dancer...omg what is his name?
0 -
Ruth - I agree. I would have been really mad if Roshon got voted off. He is a good dancer.
0 -
I was sorry to see that Roshan was in the bottom two...he is terrific and I hope he makes it to the finals. Fortunately he made it through this week's finals, but he is going to have to increase his fan base to stay on the show. I enjoy watching him dance and he's so confident...I like that. I also like Don...another great dancer.
