That true! Voting blocks worked for a lot of dancers.

Charlie is a class act! Also he's real cute! LOL

One of the things I've really enjoyed this season is the change in Maks.

Chabba, YES! Wondering what will happen with their friendship after the show, and whether it's a newer, improved Maks. He's been acting like a big teddy bear.

I agree about Maks and personally believe the judges are pulling for him and Meryl to win the mirror ball as he's never won it before, and she's the whole package of beauty, stamina, ability, talent, ect.  I only wish Amy wasn't up against her because I would so like her to win as well.  I remember when Paul McCartney's ex was a contestant and had also had a leg prosthesis but she didn't do well. And I thought Amy might end up the same way but she's surpassed anything I expected of her. Once again, it helps to have that great professional, and you'll always go far with Derrick, but she brings her own beauty, talent, stamina, ability, ect. to the table as well.

Anyone hear that Mark Ballas had a shoulder injury? Anything mentioned on the show yet about that and if he'll be dancing?

    Yeah, he dances.

Very surprised by the eliminated contestant. I know who I think should win the whole thing, but won't say until everyone has a chance to watch. I am supposed to go to a meeting from about 7-9 tomorrow night, contemplating on making an excuse not to go!!!!

Wow, what a show. I even hate to vote because I can't decide who I like more.  Amy Purdy's freestyle had me in tears of the amazing kind.  I am still pulling for Max & Meryl, too.

I thought Erin Andrews looked nice again this evening.  I think she's finally finding her style for the show, loved her hair.

I thought James' first dance was fabulousa.  Wasn't that impressed with his freestyle and I never think it looks good when a dancer wears a hood, too sloppy.

Meryl's first dance was like watching...well, I don't know what to compare it to, but I was mesmerized.  It was exquisite.  I really wasn't too keen on her freestyle, even sort of disappointed, tho the judges loved it.

Candace was simply okay.  I hated her hair for the first dance, I always say that looks like a turd on the head when women wear it that way.  Too harsh looking.  I also thought the freestyle was what we've seen before, so it was kind of boring and I don't think that gold lame suit did anything for her.

Amy's first dance was good, I don't care for all that fringe on a costume, but she was amazing.

I never understand why they have the 'freestyle' dance which is supposed to be the culmination of the season, but then they have a dance off sort of thing the next night?  Well, can we have two winners this season?

Okay, don't read this if you are still watching, but....

James danced great, but I don't think that hard-driving style is going to ever trump artistic content at the end. IMO Candace should have been the one out this week, she was okay but not in the same league as the other three.

Amy and Meryl: Wow! Great dancing by both, powerful moving numbers, great chemistry between both couples.....but watching Meryl & Max is like watching magic.....they get my votes.

    James snd Peta were great.

Gold lame did no favors for Candace.  Neither did her dances

Amy and Derek were great to watch. But He spins her so much I'm surprised she can stand when her feet are on the ground.

Meryl and Max were Magic indeed. I did have tears in my eyes for the free style. It was a true dance.

This is not a criticism because I think that Derek has done a masterful job of choreography, but I think he spins her so much because the intricate footwork is very difficult for her, and he is replacing as much of it as he can with spins etc.

Wow what a great show, and agree wrong person went home and did not like Candace's freestyle at all and the outfit was horrible (in my eyes). Yes wish there could be two winners but I'm all done with my voting on FB, cell and house phones and all my votes were for Meryl and Maks. Laughed at Carroe Ann's  quote 'you guys should just get marries' but they are amazing together. Can't believe it's almost over, this season has been so good and gone by so quickly.

James was robbed! Candace may have made the most progress but she wasn't quite the caliber of James IMO. Both Meryl and Amy are amazing dancers and I wouldn't be disappointed if either won. We'll see tomorrow. Can we have a first time final tie?

Maks deserves an award for his change in attitude and he was almost a gentleman.

Love all the comments about Meryl and Max!  Hard to believe Candace could still be in the running.  And yes, Derrick does a good job of choreography to try to compensate for some of the footwork that Amy isn't able to do.  I think that's why Len gave them a score of 9 on their freestyle; he's all about 'content'.   Everyone has loved the change in Max and it's because his partner drew that side of him out, proving how important the right partner is.  This has been a wonderful season.

Does the show start at 9 tonight?

It's a 3 hour thing. Here it starts at 7:00 with a recap of the season. The finals are a 2 hour affair from 8-10. Should I tell my meeting people that something came up and stay home and watch the whole thing? Or should I go to the meeting and miss the first two hours (my attendance won't really matter one way or the other)? That is the question.....

Okay, I am officially 'a very bad person', because I just e-mailed my meeting people and said something unforeseen had come up & I am unable to make it to the meeting tonight. DON'T TELL ON ME! Winking

Yes it's 3 hours tonight. On my schedule the first hour says 'the road to the finals'  then the 9-11 slot says 'eliminated couples return to perform and a winner is chosen'. Ruth you are a naughty girl but so what, you're vested in the season and I sure won't tell on youWinking

Oh, wow, thanks for the info on scheduling. And I forgot about that stuff they do with those who've been eliminated.

I was also wondering what you ladies thought about Amy Purdy & her boyfriend.  It seems she's so close to Derrick.  Remember the episode where she was saying that her and her boyfriend were having some issues more or less? He was only in the audience once.  I have to wonder if she's fallen in love with Derrick...even tho for him, this getting close to a dance partner is pretty routine.  He did end up living with one of this partners after (forget which one) but anyway, I think it might be a let down for Amy after the show ends.

Ruth, can't you record the program (and refrain from checking the spoilers)? Then you could have the meeting and the finale

Divine, was wondering the same about Amy too. Would be horrible if her BF was jealous (if that's the case, she needs someone better and more devoted to her as this is like a temporary job). I also wonder about M&M - they seem very touchy, feely (but not in a disgusting or sappy way). She (Meryl) sure has some magic over him, I think way beyond just her talent and ability.

Not at home this evening so hoping my parents don't mind if I steal the TV..... (if not, it's on DVR at home for tomorrow)

I could record it, but you KNOW I would cheat & check on the ending when I got home ....which would ruin it....so I am happily in for the evening!

I want to say that I caught a little clip of Amy's aerial dancing again this afternoon, and I am still very impressed with it. Has any other contestant ever done it?  A quick google of aerial dance says its a sub-genre of modern dance.  It's very artistic and you'd have to be in peak form physically and very brave to attempt it. It was pretty cool, and much more entertaining than Candace's dance.
