Glad you got it to work, Ruth. It's well worth watching & hearing again!

hope this works for you Maks/Meryl fans ... awesome compilation of all their dances in one video!

thanks for sharing, pteney! They really had magic between them. Even more amazing that Meryl performed her ice skating tour during this time.

pteney, oh my gosh! Love the compilation of Meryl & Maks' dances! I went and got my husband's good headphones to listen to the music while I watched. Seeing all the dances together like that was so impressive! I love the tango but they were also fabulous with the Argentine tango, it's amazing to see Meryl leap effortlessly backwards into Maks' arms. The other dance I truly loved was their salsa, Meryl looks absolutely calm and confident dancing and all eyes are on her as she struts her stuff in front of of a bunch of professionals. So glad I watched this. I watched some of the dances twice!
I'm sure there's probably a clip of all Amy & Derek's dances, too, and I would probably just cry through the whole thing.

I was so hoping the person that put this together would have done one for Amy and Derek but i am sure i would have cried thru some of that too!! Hugs to all, Patti

I happened to see Entertainment Tonight on the TV a few minutes ago and it seems Maks and Jennifer Lopez are supposedly an item. Not sure how I feel about that!

Who knows if any of that is true, or is all hype?

Ruth I agree. And I love your new pic!

Goodness, I must share the interesting DWS dream last night!!
Background: I had been watching some of the Meryl & Maks recaps and also been going through old photographs, trying to put them in some semblance of order. Well, I came upon a bunch of sweet pictures of me and my college boyfriend, who was a good dancer & bore a passing resemble to the young John Travolta.
Anyway, last night I dreamed that the old boyfriend and I were partners on DWS (or I should say, our 21 year old selves were), and we danced to Meryl & Maks Viennese Walz from week 9, wearing their costumes and dancing it perfectly, just like they did. (I don't know why my subconscious picked that dance, because I didn't like that weird feathery white skirt she (and now I) was wearing. I woke up & felt like I HAD been dancing. Crazy! Maybe tonight I can get my subconscious to go for the week 10 freestyle, where I would be dragged across the floor by a shirtless hunk.

Oh my, ruth, we should all be so lucky to have such dreams! It's fascinating how the different things you were involved with during the day blended together to entertain you as you slept. Perhaps M&M's Walz appeared in your dream as it was a romantic dance with romantic costuming and that's the type relationship you shared with your college boyfriend.

As long as it's a good dream that's wonderful!

As long as I don't have to dance with Billie D. Williams tonight, I'm good!

ok. It's finally safe to begin to watch So You Think You Can Dance! The top 20 have been picked. If you can catch this week's show ( I recorded it and just now watched it) I think you will be surprised. They perform in pairs in their own style. Like ballroom or tap or this year ballet. It's amazing. I'm really enjoying it. S
If you can't catch the whole thing I think some of the dances are on YouTube. See what you think. But some of the dancing is beautifully done.
Next week they are put in pairs and told what genre to dance to and you see how flexible they can be. Enjoy!

The 2 I liked best was the hip hop with the 2 guys and Jessica and Rjcky. Some amazing dancing. You might catch them on you tube if you can't watch the whole thing. But there's a lot of talent this year.

Samantha Harris wrote on twitter that she was going shopping for bras after reconstruction (Spanx), and I wrote back telling her to check out Genie and Playtex Play bras and also to check out breastcancer.org for great info, and she tweeted back "Thx, I'll check it out. I also tweeted her again and told her to hop on the discussion boards because I know for me, I don't know how I would have made it through without this. So maybe we'll be welcoming her on board! Hope you are searching yourself Samantha Harris! If you see this, welcome!

Jul 29, 2014, 3:51 PM ETBy MICHAEL ROTHMANMICHAEL ROTHMANMore From Michael »Entertainment Reportervia GOOD MORNING AMERICAMICHAEL ROTHMANMore From Michael »Entertainment ReporterAfter winning it all just a few weeks ago, Maksim Chmerkovskiy has officially retired from performing on "Dancing With the Stars."

"I feel like it's time," Chmerkovskiy continued, adding that he feels like the world has been in limbo with rumors about him coming back or not for the last few seasons.

Chmerkovskiy, 34, has been on the show for more than a dozen seasons, including this year with gold medal ice dancer Meryl Davis, whom he took home the Mirror Ball trophy with. It was his first championship on the show.
This was also his first season back after he left following season 16.
"I feel blessed and very honored. ... I left the show, when I came back to the show, the show was not the same," he said, adding that he felt like he was taking up a huge spot with a field of pro dancers on the show that has so much talent.
Chmerkovskiy did clarify that he's done dancing, so he could return as a guest judge or in some other capacity.
Chmerkovskiy was also asked if Jennifer Lopez, his rumored new flame, was the reason he was done dancing, but he skipped the question.
