I only caught the last 10 minutes of the results show to see who was eliminated. Will there be a show every Tuesday or was it just this week and going back to one night a week next time?

I searched around and found this from yesterday:

"It was the Dancing with the Stars 2014 premiere last night and the 13 new couples on DWTS 2014 took to the dance floor and performed for the DWTS judges 2014 and performed for your votes. For a change, we will have the results show on Dancing with the Stars Season 19 tonight and not have to wait a week to find out who is voted off on DWTS Season 19! This is only for two weeks, as we go back to the one-night-only schedule."

It's definitely on the schedule for Tuesday night results show. Guess that will be the last one.

(Don't read this if you aren't done watching yet....I need to get to bed early & won't remember a thing if I wait until tomorrow).

Mostly, I was pretty underwhelmed......half of them could go home tonight & it wouldn't hurt my feelings.

    People I thought did okay:

    *Lea-fun & peppy

    * Antonio-sexy but not a lot of actually dancing

    * Alfonzo, Bethany, Jonathon-did alright from my notes, but I already can't remember their dances

    * Sadie-I think she has some good moves & the possibility of improvement

*Betsy-looked and did 100% better than last week, so I gave her votes in the 'Most Improved' category.

"Underwhelmed" is the adjective I'd use also.  I missed the first several dances as I was on the phone with my son (he called to say he was elected president of a campus organization at the university he attends).

I loved Julianna's hair and Erin's hair looked nice as well.  I wasn't impressed with Betsy; the judges were all crazy in love with her performance, I just thought it was too froo-froo for her, kind of like grandma does Cinderella.  The two young girls who are Mark's and Derek's partners are fun to watch but there's something a bit off with both of them; perhaps they'll hit their stride at some point and begin to wow us.  I'm not a fan of Tommy Chong, either. The young guy from Mean Girls with the new professional, even I could tell there wasn't any cha cha cha in the dance, it seemed the professional was doing all the spectacular moves and not allowing her celebrity to share the spotlight. Not sure who'll be voted off, the race car driver, the boxer or Betsy would be my pick.

I missed Lea's dance but found a link this morning and watched it, since she scored highest.  It was good, but she needs to do something with her hair, it ages her all hanging down like that and she could really look much more stunning than she does. Karina Smirnoff also wears some funky hairstyles I don't think flatter her, either.

I totally loved Alfonso and Witney, I thought they were smokin' hot and loved watching them dance; looking forward to seeing more from them.

One more comment I forgot was from my hubby, who said that Emma Slater (dance professional) looked Ike she was wearing a pull-up. It was so funny when he said it, he doesn't pay much attention to the show.

    LOL on the pull-up!

It is going to be awhile before I am either surprised or upset by anybody getting voted off!

Yeah, ruth, hubby woulda probably like Julianne's dance get-up last night better than Emma's....but it was way to risque for me, she didn't to try so hard with that.

Interesting new avatar, ruth, what's that all about?

A friend of mine took a picture of me taking a picture on my cellphone, with a mug of coffee in my hand.....since that is pretty much me in a nutshell, I thought it would be fun to use it as my avatar for a little while...just for the heck of it Smile....I don't suppose I will leave it up very long.

I am watching now Julianne needs to go she's a terrible judge and what is with the hair, funnily enough I'm enjoying Kevin Hart, he's grading of what he's seeing not on technicalities.

Loved Kevin Hart, and I don't mind Julianne.  Still can't stand Erin who looked awful with that hair on the side.

Some of the dancing tonight surprised me, in a good way.  I loved Val and his partner, it was awesome.  Still loving Alfonso who's always entertaining.  I knew Derek and partner would get 10's simply because they danced to Singing in the Rain, the judges weren't going to ruin the occasion with less than that, but it was a great routine.

Betsy was so good, I was surprised and even gave her a vote.  The race driver also good but could have lost that goofy hat which I hated. I remember liking Sadie's dance at the time but can't remember this morning what it was.

Poor Lea, the hair and costume were improved, but she needs to lose the bright red lipstick and the routine was terrible. I blame that on the new professional who didn't seem to know how to choreograph something for a woman who has so much potential.

    Agreed with the elimination.

I gave Betsy a vote too. Sadie was in the little yellow dress, partner had the nerd glasses on.....can't remember the song.

Tomorrow night we are going to be able to judge, you have to log on to ABC and then I guess we the timing starts as soon as the dance starts and the portal is open for 2 minutes and we vote though our facebook app, at least that's my understanding.

So I just re-read the rules.  You go to abc.go.com/dancing-with-the-stars/you-raise-the-paddle and yes you have to be logged in to facebook to vote BUT it's only for you east coast and central time zone peeps, darn it I was so excited to be able to do this but foiled by my time zone boo hiss.....

I don't hav many Facebook apps, but DWTS is one I do have and it's how I vote because it's so simple. You don't have to friend anyone to use it. You can always delete it if you find you don't like it or think it interferes with anything.

Sorry,Cheryl, that you can't vote...I have never participated in a TV show like that so I may try it and see if I can actually get it to work right.

I think we can vote as well this is only available for 2 minutes once the dance starts, I guess it's meant to be like you are at the table voting with the judges, we'd have to be able to vote at the end cause what a schmozzle it would be if only east coast and central time zone votes counted, what are we in the west "chopped liver"Nerdy

The last 30 minutes was the best thing going last night, Ruth!

I really liked the personal stories the celebs told about one of their life changing years, very moving.

Dance routines: The misses:  Michael Waltrip, Tommy Chong, Jonathan Bennet, Antonio Sabatino

    The okays: Janel and Bethany

Lea Thompson was pretty good and once again I was surprised that Besty did well.  Sadie of Duck Dynasty...I'm sorry, to me it was just odd to have the DD dudes involved and I didn't care for the dance and costuming but she got 10s from all judges. They were swayed by all the millionaire family members that showed up, imo.

Best dance:  Alfonso for the win again!!!! I love him and Witney, she is sooo cool!

Btw, I wasn't able to vote because it's not available on an ipad and I need a new laptop battery, so I wasn't able to us that, either, and I really didn't miss it at all.

    My Week 5 Critique

    Antonio: odd dance

    Bethany: pretty good

Jonathon: was afraid that someone was going to get hurt!

    Alfonso: okay

    Janel: okay

Michael: that is how I would be looking on week five, and that is not a compliment!

Tommy: cute dance, but Emma did all the work

Sadie: I thought she looked good, but that the music didn't really go with the Roaring '20s costume

Lea: liked her dance best tonight

    I hate Erin!

I really liked Bethany, Janel and Leah. I didn't 'get' Sadies dance really didn't see much of a Charleston (and her legs really bother me, it's either like she's squatting down or her knees are mis aligned I can't put my finger on it but I notice it every week). Didn't think much of Tommy and Michael and I felt sorry for Jonathan it looked like he was frightened all the way through.

Last night was pretty dull. No break out dances. All the men except Alfonso need to be eliminated!  It seems to me Sadie dances the same dance every week and yes, her limbs are so lanky she's a bit like Olive Oil out there.

That Artim guy, well I just don't care for him. Allison is a terrible professional outdancing whomever she's with.

The switch off this season was lackluster.

Does anyone like the addition of a fourth judge? The girl last night knows nothing about dancing yet she talked the most. I don't care about her opinion!
