    Well, I don't blame him. How could anything ever be better for him than last season? And it is nice to go out on top. He might make a great judge. Maybe if Len retires, as has been rumored......

    I'm not real surprised either. But I'm glad he finally won. And I think he would be a great judge.

    The next season of Dancing With the Stars begins on Sept. 15 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC with a two-hour premiere. ThumbsUp

    Wow, it's that time again!  My gosh, that went fast.  Wonder who the new crop of celebs will be.  It's gonna be hard to top last season!

    Here's some news about the judging and also a list of the professionals, a number of which I've never heard of before!

    Two-time “Dancing” champion, actress, musician and Emmy®-nominated choreographer Julianne Hough returns to the ballroom as a fourth judge on this season of “Dancing with the Stars,” premiering MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 15 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET/PT) on ABC. Hough will judge alongside resident judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. 

    As previously announced, the twelve professional dancers competing this season for the Mirrorball Trophy are Mark Ballas, Cheryl Burke, Witney Carson, Artem Chigvintsev, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, Tony Dovolani, Allison Holker, Derek Hough, Keo Motsepe, Peta Murgatroyd, Emma Slater and Karina Smirnoff. The professional dancers will be paired with a brand new cast of celebrities, announced live on “Good Morning America” on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 4 (7:00–9:00 a.m., ET).

    I have a feeling that we may have four judges this season with one or more of the original judges opting not to come back next season.

    I am fine with 4 judges....just don't bring back the (often stupid) guest judges!!!!!!

    ruth, that's a good point. I don't care for the extra judge who often doesn't really know what they're talking about (remember the ghastly Abby from Dance Moms?)  Hopefully they don't do any switch a roos with these four during the season.

    If you want to wait for the suspense on Thursday morning, don't open this. I've read the same list in several places and just heard it on the local ABC news. Of course it is still speculation.

    I just liked the way this site presented it.

    I peeked! Excited to see who is on for sure, & depressed because I will be having company opening night so will have to watch in later....

    I think I only recognized a few names on that list... 

    Many times I've thought the show should be called DANCING WITH THE "STARS"

    Thanks, 2nd time, for the compliment. I'm not too excited about the season, either. I think we'll be seeing some scruffy beards in the audience due to the Duck Dynasty daughter as a contestant. I don't know most of the others!  I see they paired Emma with an older guy again which I'm tired of because she gets eliminated. I'd like to see her try to take a younger dude to victory. Not too happy about Betsy Johnson, she's an oddball but who knows, maybe I will like her once I see her. The rest are sort of forgettable at this time.

    Saw promo with Antonio Sabato Jr. today. He has some moves. And you know that Latin blood. OO La La. He reminds me a bunch of Helio Castroneves.

    Ruth - Per the cable guide it's on Monday and Tuesday. Seems like it was a 2 night show the first week last season. Don't remember if they said anything about going back to the old two night format permanently.

    Wow 2TA looking forward to personal report. Winking Wish I could go too. Assume you found some takers for the tickets.

    debating about going. Will have to stand in line several hours in over 100* heat. Will be soaked by the time it starts and it was cold in there last time.

    My commentary on the season opener: 

    A couple of train wrecks:  Lolo Jones and Betsy Johnson.  Betsy is my least favorite type celebrity, just too out there for my taste. But shame on Tony for giving her a prop the first week of dancing.

    I didn't care for Val's partner, her personality was not to my liking, and in the introductory for the two of them, she was rubbing his chest saying everyone was jealous of her, I didn't care for that at all. Their routine was way too ambitious for the first dance.

    Tavis and Sharna were a nice surprise, so was the duck dynasty gal and also the kid from Mean Girls dancing with a new professional. Derek and partner were nice to watch as usual! Cheryl and her partner were sort of forgettable.

    I didn't care for Michael the race driver being dressed up as a race car drive, it was too cheesy.  They were all crazy about Tommy Chong but he didn't do anything for me. The same with Karina's boxer guy.

    I never cared for Lea Thompson as an actress, but she has some potential and I hope they dress her less matronly from here on in.

    Loved Alfonso & Witney!!!

    Why have four judges when they couldn't fit in all their comments? 

    Erin Andrews voice didn't get any easier to listen to and I get tired of seeing her stoop down to talk to the contestants and professionals.

    I did catch a glimpse of Meryl & Charlie in the audience!!!

    You gave a pretty accurate accounting MrsM. I didn't like the race car guy either, liked Sadie Robertson and Alfonso Riberio, and the Pretty Little Liars guy. Oh my Lolo Jones talk about a 'suck lemon' face.

    I was going with Maddy tomorrow but we've just decided against it, it's so danged hot here waiting in lines in 100 degree heat for a couple of hours all dressed up just didn't sound appealing, well try for tickets later in the season.

    I actually enjoyed tonight's results show, I have to say Maks might be gone but Artem is a nice cool drink of waterDevil
