    HI

I have had a hectic week and haven't had time to post. I so hate when I get behind in reading. Tomorrow is a 9-9 day, and from 5-9 I just have to sit at the reception desk...so I will read and post.

    Have a good night's sleep,

    Hugs and prayers,

    Candie

Quick flyby.  I'm waiting for Idol and still have 20 minutes to go.  Jas, I think David Archuleta is going to be hard to beat.

Edited to fix my typos - I swear it's my laptop keys and not my fingers.

Hope you had a good day,Beach Buddies.

Jasmine-I love Jimmy Buffett and his movie for kids was awesome. I had no clue he was an actor in films, too. Great beach scenery in his "Hoot" film. Thanks for the neat pics.

Susan-that is sure a nice resort spot where you traveled today. Next time,I will go with you esp to avoid trips that are not so fun. I hope your aft was good. The water is beautiful in cyberland photos. Does it remind you of some of the trips in CA and FL? I think Mickey is missing us,what do you think?

Faithandfifty-great that your schedule is booked so that your daughter and the twins will have you there right at the time. It reminds me of this quiet meeting and we were told to turn-off all cell phones, pagers, etc as it was imp info from Fed Gov't on LNCB rules re:Reading. Anyway, cell ph goes off and Reading Supervisor is not happy. Turns-out it is a grandma's first baby born while we were in the Reading mtg. It was a required mtg or the grandma said she would have been there.

Bren-While in college,I lived in Radford not so far from Roanoake. Seems like I read that your sis lives in that area. That is a very beautiful area of VA. We had lots of snow there that year.thanks for the good health wishes-same to you.

Angelcharlene-love the photos from this site and the friends who come to the beach believe it or not,I saw my English teacher's name in the newspaper last night. She taught me when I went to high schl near a coastal NC beach. You think she has heard of this thread?

She would love these marvelous pictures and cherished memories they bring

Janny-how are you doing this evening? I am not a TV fan of "American Idol". Seems like I read that you watched it some. Having actually known one of the stars made it seem real that first season. There are probably lots of things I miss from not watching TV-except for movies. Those are neat and the cooking channel. It is my father tomorr at the cardio. Just a pacemaker check-not surgery this time. Glad that your dr's appt went well today.

It is late and hope everyone has a good evening. May your day be a good one whether at a real beach or a virtual one or wherever you find yourself. Hello to anyone I have missed.

    Good Night Beach Buddies,

    Iris

    Hi Candie,

I saw where you were posting while I was. You are right abt the long hours do make reading harder to keep up(speaking for me). Glad you are not having weather craziness. I bet your tan still looks awesome.

Margo-great to see you, too. Same abt posting like I said to Candie. Sorry I missed both posts. Do you have a favorite from AI this year?

Hope you had a great day.

Faithandfifty-forgot to say Congrats on your trip to Aruba! What an awesome gift from your husb. Was it an anniv gift-not sure if I read that correctly and cannot scroll back on BlackBerry. Have a great time planning it! I know you will have awesome pics to share with all of us. Do you have a timeframe?

    Best to everyone!

    Hello beach buddies.

Iris-gotta love the Alabama mountains dont ya?  I really cherish the scenery that I have everyday.  You mentioned earlier about the wild ponies and it was Assateague Island where we camp in the summer with them.  Its alot of fun.

Susan-I think the beach sounds alot better than work anyday.

    Jaz-gotta love its 5 o clock somewhere.

Jan-parrothead here also.  I have the box set of Jimmy Buffett and love it.  Also have dish network and there is a margaritaville channel with his great music.

Candie well at least with a long day you get to access the internet and pass the time away.

Margo-that sounds like a good banana bread receipe.  4 ingredients is always a good thing.

Man,,,, my mind is going blank here.  Guess I am headed down to the shore and you will find me "chillin like a villian".

Good afternoon all you beach bums!!!

I'm at work right now, but I can dream!!!

Iris, we just started watching Idol last year.  We are not much into reality shows, but it's actually pretty good.

Jas, was that you who was talking about that young guy on Idol?  I think he is going to take the whole thing.  What a great voice and stage presence for someone so young!

Hi Amy, my fellow Parrothead.  I have 2 boxed sets of Jimmy Buffet.  I will cherish them forever.  We listen all the time!  We were almost going to go to Assateaque Island to camp, but they wouldn't let us bring the motorcycle.  A friend of mine adopted one of the wild ponies, when we were kids.

Margo, yes that's David Archeletta who will win Idol.  He's great!

Gotta go.  Save me a chair and a towel!

Hi girls, quick flyby from work.

Iris, wish I was at a real beach right now.  Weather at least here is good.  I like David Archuleta, who is 17.  Did you know someone on the first season?

Amy, I was surprised how good the recipe was with only 4 ingredients (I tweaked it though so I added cinnamon, chocolate chips and sour cream).  The reviews said the basic recipe was pretty good.

Jan, do you watch the Moment of Truth reality show?  I got sucked into it for lack of anything else to watch.  I can't believe people would risk their marriages for only $500k - they'd have to give me a few mil before I got up there.  I agree that David A is going to win Idol.

Save me a spot under the umbrella.

Margo, we watched a couple of those Moment Of Truth shows.  OMG!! You would have to give me a whole lot more money to answer those questions on national TV!  Oh MY!

It's amazing to me what people do for a little money - it's not that $500k is a just a little sum of money but it's certainly not enough for what you have to do to yourself and your family.  I saw it this week and hubby was disgusted with the lady on the show, called her all kinds of not so nice names.  I think she wanted out of her marriage and she thought this would be the way to do it and come out with some money.  She did fine until they asked her for $200k if she was a good person and she said yes and didn't pass the lie detector test so she humiliated herself and her family and lost the $100k she had already won.

Jan didn't know you couldn't take a bike there. Man what a shame cause lots of good places to ride close by. Nice to know I am not the only person cherish some great cd's.

Jaz yes shingles are improving. Thanks for asking.

    Happy Windy Thur,Beach Buddies,

Jan-never seen the entire program that you are mentioning but the previews sure were interesting. I agree w/Amy,it would take lots more money for me to answer questions on TV. I think there is lots of talent on Idol this year.

Margo, same thing I was saying to Jan abt the truth and a lie-detector test, takes lots more nerve than I have. It is amazing that some people do what they do for winning money-game shows. I knew Clay Aiken from Raleigh he was my substitute teacher yrs ago. He did not sing,at schl, did weddings, etc. That was before he became so famous. He came back, after the Idol runner-up and records. Then,he had a big limo and protection-guard;so,nev saw him. I hv some of his songs on iPod. Sorry, got more info than you prob wanted. Hope you had a good day. Do you have plans for wkend?

Amy,hi to you! Great that you are feeling much better. I am so glad that the meds and rest are doing their stuff-the fam and animal friends help,too-I'm sure. I love Jimmy Buffett songs!

Beth-thanks for info abt Kristin I love Kristin and her partner's voices. All the best on the up-coming concert,Kristin!

Thank you, angelcharlene, for starting a beach thread and to everyone posting. I have always felt such pleasure while reflecting upon the things I loved as a young person. The beach visits,I will always cherish as some of the most fond memories of my youth. Thanks for allowing me to share the virtual beach and my real coastal home here with you.

Hello to you,Jasmine. Hope your day was great. Jimmy Buffett is a great singer and wonderful entertainer. I think he was a good writer in the movie "Hoot" as well.

Hope I did not miss anyone! It is cold on the coast today. The water is beautiful;bring a jacket, gloves and hat for a beach walk.

    Have a great evening!

Good evening Beach Ladies.  Its been a busy day at work for me.  Its nice to come back to the beach for some light dinner while watching the waves.

Jan -- yes, David Archuleta is the guy I was talking about.  Isn't he amazing for one so young.  He almost sang that song better than Lennon himself.

Margo -- I've seen the commercials for that show but haven't watched it yet.  It sounds interesting though.

Iris -- its always nice to see you pop in.  Such nice informative posts.

Hello to Emelee, Candie, Faith, BMD, and everyone not mentioned from A to Z.

Yes Charlene, thank you for starting this thread.  It is warm and funny.

Iris, it can't be as cold as it is here.  It was 19 this morning, as I'm standing out in the wind pumping gas!  It took me an hour to warm up.

Gotta go buds.  I'll be back tomorrow!

Amy, you have to watch that show sometime.  It's unbelievable what people do for money!

Iris, so you knew Clay Aiken huh? I thought he was ok but that wasn't a very good season if I remember.  How did dad do today?  My mom story for the day - remember the seatcovers she wanted for her MB but she only needed one?  Well, she ordered the set for $700+ and had them installed.  Apparently they threw away the good old one for the passenger side. So she made a stink and they were crediting her $200; she needed some work done so is going there to drop off her car and get a rental car - it's like 75 miles from my house - she calls me today and wants me to take her around 4:30 this afternoon - they close about 6 - told her no way would we be able to make it down there and I wasn't going to take off work to take her at the last minute. I tell her to call Joe since he gets off work at 2 - he goes down there with her - first they were going to charge her $1,000 for work she didn't need. So she is driving home and he makes her pull over and he drives the rest of the way.  Said people are honking at her, flipping her off, driving on the wrong side to pass her....holy moly, and she won't get off the road!  I owe my hubby.

Jasmine, I like that beach picture.

Charlene, you did start a good thread.

Jan, it was 19 where you are?  Oh my, I'd have a tough time.

Baking hubby cookies since he took care of mom this afternoon and they're ready.  Back later.

I like the love to all from A to Z.  Much better than trying to remember not to forget anyone.

Greetings from baby-to-be-land. Today we really worked all day long to get the nursery organized. The other grandma came over and we built the changing table together. Got all of the onesies, pjs and blankets all organized, too. Really fun to see all of the teeny-tiny booties, bibs and other falldara. Have several 'preemie' outfits for the very beginning. She sees her doc tomorrow afternoon.

Her first born, 21 months old, called me "geegee" for the first time spontaneously this afternoon..... sent me into happy grandma heaven.

So all is well here in planning ahead land.

Greetings to all you beach bums. CharAngel where are you? Is everything ok? Haven't seen you for a couple days.

Jas: nice wake up call and loved the picture, too.

Amy: glad to hear that the shingles are subsiding.

Margaret: are you bringing a batch of your cookies to the beach tonight?

Biker: stay warm.... we've got similar nonsense here.

Candie: love to you as always. haven't seen you in chat in ages........

Iris: Aruba is for our wedding anniversary. We're scheduled to go in June.

I'm gonna have to work hard not to gain an extra 15 pounds of pregnancy-sympathy weight. Very hard to behave myself, but the trip is motivating.

Marsha: time for an update on your gals reunion.

hugs and a pina colada for all, you're one-in-a-million, beach bunnies

    Good Evening Beach Buddies,

Jan-you are right abt 19 degrees. B-rrr! We had like 28;and on the water felt the wind. Pumping gas-you must hv been frozen when finished. We are due a warming trend and hope you are, too.I keep pretending it is not February because the temps rise/really fall.

Jasmine-what a lovely picture. The trees look similar to joshuas. I would love to be sticking my toes in that beach water right now.

Candie-great to see you.It sounds like some of the days are long ones for you. Always glad to see you! I just saw, again, the lovely place you visited on your vacation. I am ready to see it and feel the warm sand between the toes. Have you gotten any more pictures developed or down-loaded of the trip? Seems like your daughter(s)were helping and doing a great job,I think I read that.

Margaret-I appreciate your asking abt my father. I took my headache meds because after four hrs,I needed them!LOL I am sorry but I laughed right outloud at the visual pic of your mom in her MB driving. Your husband deserved cookies and prob ice cream, too.

That is what I do after a challenge w/my father. Today,we are like over 1 1/2 hrs early for his pacemaker check-up. He tells me to pass this funeral procession that is in the right lane with tons of cars and policemen. In the South(not sure abt other areas),it is respectful to pull off rural roads or small, country towns folks stop. I told him I was not going to pass the procession and I would hope if it were my funeral, someone could spare five minutes. So,you want to put the two people together? I bet it would make an interesting reality show! Wouldn't that have been hunky-dory to pass policemen with red lights going?

It is different in big cities-but small towns we know lots of folks and their families and they know what folks do,too.

Faithandfifty-that sounds like a really neat nursery and seeing all the tiny outfits is so cool. It reminds me of tiny, precious dolls. Well,at least until the dolls wake-up or need changing. LOL great that both you and your daughter's MIL were there. She is so fortunate! Enjoy your trip to Aruba! Reminds me of the Beach Boys song everytime I hear the name. Perfect place on a cold, not as cold as your area,Feb day.

Amy-thinking of AL today as we got a wedding invitation to a cousin's son marrying someone from Gadsden. Last time I saw him,he was 10-in 1995!LOL How big are the kids now?

You need to post some more pics real soon I bet they love Tucker and all of you.Take care!

Angelcharlene-saw some beautiful cherished angels that reminded me of your pics. I know that yours are the first that I noticed at bco. You must have the most beautiful collection. I was telling a friend abt your daughter's ceiling with the neat stars which so reminds me of the song abt starry, starry night/angels. Thinking of you and happy Friday.

Colder temps are passing on out-sunny days ahead. Clear weather for weekend without blustery gales-calm seas at the beach. Have a great weekend all of you beach friends! Great place for escaping housework-it maybe will disappear!

Iris, the worst part about hubby's day yesterday was that I had cream of broccoli soup for dinner and he took one look and refused to eat it.  So he had some minestrone soup I picked up from Costco - Marthat Stewart brand - disgusting so I made him scrambled eggs - by this time it was 7:30 - he's very picky about his eggs - he couldn't eat them.  He decided he didn't want dinner.  My neighborhood of 500 homes is like a small town.  Everyone knows one another, the kids were all on the swim team together, they all were in Tiger Cubs/Cub Scouts, etc.  Other areas bring their kids into my area for Halloween trick or treating.  There are only two ways into the neighborhood, and one runs right into the police department, so ours is a safe neighborhood.

Char, this beach scene is for you.  I keep editing to fix the size.

Good morning Amy.  I would love to see some more pictures of the new baby goats.

I just wanted to share some good news I got at work today.  The place I work for has been going through some management changes.  They have been long needed since there is so much wasted resources.  For years, I've asked to be moved to a building that is only 15 miles from where I live but they always said it was only for marketing folks even though there were a ton of empty cubes.  Today, they announced that they are closing and selling the building where my current workstation is located....and they are moving to this building close to home.  I know that probably seems lame to most of you but for years I've been doing a long commute whenever I was required to go in for meetings.  This is a big deal for me.

I'm not sure what to do with all that extra time now that it will only take 20 minutes to get to work instead of an hour.

Jas, that's great news.  I can sympathize with you, since I am also an hour from work.  I wish I could work from home, but working for a dentist would make that impossible, lol!

Margo, you have inspired me.  I think I will make chocolate chip cookies today!!  Just what my fat ass needs!  That story about your mom and Joe was too funny.  She sounds like a real pistol!

Faith, sounds like you are having a good time getting ready for the babies.  It will be so much fun!  Our twins are 4 yrs. old now and my DIL says life is getting better now.  The hardest was when they were babies and toddlers.  Now that they are talking more and more, it is easier.

Amy, good luck with your chemo today!  It's good that the shingles are getting better.

    Charlene, this is for you

Okay, I don't want to turn this into a 'joke' thread but a friend just sent me this one and with the elections coming up, I thought it was funny.

Q: How many politicians does it take to change a light bulb?
A: Two. One to assure the public that everything possible is being done while the other screws it into a water faucet.
