Beach bunnies and our dear CharAngel..... am I missing something of a soap opera? There's a street gang? When I'm here at the beach I miss all of the shinanigans of 'real life.' Don't tell me there's some junior high nonsense going on???? Holy cow. Had no idea there was so much high seas and intrigue: pirate ships? Pretty clueless..... but thank heaven you got turned around and are able to bask here in cyber-sand again.

Well my enthusiasm for being grandma all day long is wearing me out. I want to go back to my regularly exhausting work life. This chasing a toddler all day is enough to completely deplete me. LOL. I continue to paint the mural during his nap. Maybe I need to nap during his nap??? Started the second wall today: building the castle. Pretty sweet.

    Speaking of sweet:

I want some of those cyber cookies Margaret!

Candie: thanks for explaining your teaching world. That is a great age. Keep up the good work @ water arobics. That's motivating.

Amy: thanks for your well wishes.

BTW: You are all indeed invited as beach-aunties to come to see the mural and help rock the little peeps!! Great idea!!

Iris: Don't know what I'd do without your chart to help me out. Thanks for taking the time to keep me in the loop.

laptop creating a HOT flash...... must wave to the rest of you A to Z

nessie: now i can't remember what you said, but i seriously laughed out loud when i read something you'd written..... what was it? do you remember?

jaz: weather is nuts, click your heels and it's a wacky new day in the midwest..... no coffee buzzing here

    Hi

Waiting to watch the news to see if Hillary had a good day.

Charlene, yes, most think I was born in 1971. That was a fun year for me, one I will never forget. It was a special summer.

Well, I am getting comfy in bed. Have to be up by 6:15 am in order to go to my water class/to get to work by 9.

     Sleep well,my friends.

    Hugs and prayers,

    Hi and Happy Wed,beach Buddies,

I think a pirate has come into port and has captured my bonny post! I had a long post to everyone and zap-gone like the tides erasing the prints in the sand! So,I will say good night to all and post in the morning. I cherish the time I spend on this thread and all of you who so kindly allow my ramblings from coastal NC.

Angelcharlene, love the female pirate. The fourth gr NC History had two female pirates who sailed with Blackbeard-acc to legend. All the girls went bonkers as they thought it was so cool. One looked very much like your cool pirate!

Glad you returned from your beach walk. Will chat with everyone in the morning.Wear your slickers and boots;gale winds and storms over.

Goodbye beach friends from a very windy and rainy coast Power is flickering;interesting weather. We are with friends;all will be fine.

Good morning Beach ladies.  Rise and shine.  Well, can you believe it, 70's on Monday, snow on Tuesday, 63 today.

Happy Wednesday.  The work week is half over.  This weekend I'm going to start car shopping.  I'm not ready to buy, just thought I'd start looking in case the Fed really lowers those rates.  If anything, I guess I can always get it the Johnny Cash way.

    Surprise song of the day!

    Good morning beach buddies!

Iris - oh, those dang pirates!  What a shame you lost your post!  Very interesting about Blackbeard. "We are with friends; all will be fine" ... that has a nice ring to it and is very true.  Crazy weather no doubt!

Jasmine - Oh I love 'Cottonmouth' .. very cool video.  Is that how you're getting your car?  LOL

Margo - good to see you pop in, I know you're busy

Janny - now where are you missy?

back later all, enjoy the warm sun on your face, at least here!

Here I am, Angel!!  Here I am!!!  Welcome back to you, little missy!  I've been going bonkers for the last few days.  Sorry for not checking in.  Beautiful beach pics!

Jas, as always, thanks for the daily songs!  Oh my, you've been having some rather strange weather, too.

Hi there Amy!  How are the shingles feeling?  I'm sure they are starting to get better.

Iris, I love the female pirates story.  You must have some really great stories from your teaching days.  We are having terrible wind today.  Last night also, and it absolutely poured rain.

    Hey there, Margo!

Faithandfifty, Chasing toddlers is exhausting!!  You had better take pictures of that mural.  It sounds great!

Look, I found enough chairs for us all!!!

When we get done sunbathing, we can take a walk.  Not too far Char!!!

    Hi

Hope you are all having a good Wednesday.

Charlene, it's a push everyday to get myself out of the house but I am doing it so far.

Jan,thanks for the chairs. Do you mind if I drag mine into the water...that's where I like to sit. Oh and a walk on the beach---maybe I can find more seashells.

I am a lil sad today. My DH left for California for 8 days. He arrived in LA this morning...stopping in to see his cousin and staying there overnight and then to another cousin's tomorrow and on Friday meeting up with 3 other guys that he has known for 20+ years. They used to work in a radio station in PA together. It is one of their 50th bday. Tom (bday boy) doesn't know the other 2 guys are coming. It has been planned for over a year. I did tell him to go and enjoy with my blessings....but now that he has....I am upset he went without me...lol. They are now spread out all over, Tom lives in Florida, Stash lives in Illinois and Bob in Wisconsin. It will be so nice for them to see each other and spend some time together. Life is short.

So, here I sulk, isn't that terrible of me? ok back to work I go...I have to go to a Catechist's workshop tonight. Will check in later.

    Hugs and prayers,

    Candie

    Happy Wed aft,Beach Buddies,

Hope everyone is having a good afternoon. Is anyone else counting the days until spring-abt 2 wks? Yeah!

Candie-what a nice surprise for your husband's friend.I can imagine that would be a great surprise. Glad that dh is bringing neat shells-not the same as being there,I know. However, glad you are here with us and share these great beach scenes. Good for you on the exercise as it prob helps with sleeping-I sound like a TV ad-sorry. LOL

Jasmine-those are roller-coaster temps, for real. It is like a white dream that just had a short visit. Weather has sure been interesting this week in many places.

Faithandfifty-mural sounds like you are adding more neat features each time you describe it. The little ones will be like a little prince/princess. That would make an awesome setting for books.

Sige-great to see you here at the beach. Is it Kelowna where you are? I am thinking that your weather is not as warm yet. You will like the warmth and sunniness here.

Amy-glad that you had no storm damage around you. I did see that south AL did have it.

Margo-hope the day goes well and glad to see that Jocelyn and Jacob had a nice time. I,too, like cookies and just try not to buy them. Sometimes,I just hv to satisfy that cookie calling. Your friend lives abt 15 mins from me

That is a lovely area and lots of shopping areas. Pls come and visit when Nancy comes this way.

Neesie-hope your PT is not as painful this wk. I bet Pet's and Breyer's stock prices have noticed I gave up ice cr in the fall.LOL

Good for you on the dieting,I just hate the whole shebang-now,reality strikes,so veggies make way, here I come, ready or not! LOL

Marsha-thinking of you and a late Happy Birthday! Hope you have some fun tonight and eat some choc cake for us!

Susan-lovely beach scene looks just like the sea gulls around here waiting for their next fish or humans to feed them

Janny-great pics and thanks for the chairs.Like Candie,I like to sit by water's edge, too. The water and sky is awesome in your pic,Janny. Glad you did not hv any maj damage from storms.

Angelcharlene-what a lovely pic for an early morning stroll. You arew right abt cherished beach memories. We found the neatest seashells after a blustery hurricane blew out-to-sea. It was like after the turulence, there were these whole, fragile sand dollars who were untouched by the storms. It reminds me of the resilence we,all, have going through temporary storms.

Too wordy! Need to get out for an afternoon stroll;lovely weather and no storm damage. Thinking of those who did have storm issues.

Tieing the shoe strings and I will meet you by the shore,

    Iris

Candie, I'd be sulking too, lol!  I am not happy when my dh goes somewhere without me.  I only had to sit in the water one time, when we went to  Kiawah Island, SC.  It was so hot, that you couldn't sit on the beach, so we sat in the water.  Which wasn't much cooler!

Iris, no damage from storms, just a howlling wind today.  Some tree branches are down on the roads.  I hate wind.  Almost as much as I hate ice.  LOL!

But it's not here at the Beach.  All is sunny and warm and I'm digging my toes into the sand.  Aaaaaahhhhh, life is good!

What a life I'm living!! Was a "ladies-who-lunch" for an actual lunch with dear old friends today. Of course that shoveling the snow off the car, in order to hit the road was a bit tedious. Surely it can't stay long???? I'm all for blowing bubbles on the beach with the rest of you!!

CharAngel: so glad that the pirates have returned you to us, none the worse for wear and still finding images to brighten the day.

Candie: my DH just returned from his 7 WEEK hiatus in FL. It's our compromise--he'd leave snowbound OH tomorrow if I'd let him. So this gets him outta the snows and allows me to sing for my "fan club" here..... a few more seasons.

Iris: pleaes continue to keep us informed and up to the minute. So sorry your post poofed. Beware the pirates.

Margaret: thinking of you and wanting a cookie this afternoon.

Biker: glad to hear that you made it thru the storms ok. It's been a real season already and spring hasn't even arrived. (That's when I think of storm season.)

Marsha: is your show still playing? If it's wrapped -- what are you doing with your time these days?

wonder boy alert, must sent RIGHT now

OMG, I'm helping my very literal 9 year old daughter with a book report on Christopher Columbus!   Somebody help me!!!  Whew, it's cocktail hour here on the beach!  Love the chairs and the location Janny!  We'll walk and pick up seashells for Candie and look for Susan to keep us from going too far!

Iris, you're Never too wordy, we love your posts!  Oh, I love sand dollars!  Nice way of putting how resiliant we are.  Glad you had no storm damage.

Candie, my SO goes on business trips to places like Reno and Nashville for a week every year without me.  I'm not happy when he does either, especially since I haven't been anywhere since before my dx..which was only a year ago though.  You inspire me to push myself!

Faith, I take it wonder boy is your grandson?  Sounds like you had a great lunch today, too bad you had to deal with the snow for it!  I'm back and no worse for wear!  I'm a pretty tough pirate myself!  lol

Janny, I only got 1/2 my gas tank filled because the wind was too cold and went right through me when I was pumping today!

Amy, missed you today.  Still looking for more goat pictures, I bet they are getting big!

    Hi girls,

Char, I missed your pretty beach scenes.  I was helping Jocelyn with a book report last night on George Washington.

Janny, thanks for saving me a chair.

Candie, you should have come with hubby and flown up to SF and visited me.

Iris, we're having spring weather here and I'm so loving it.  If I ever visit my girlfriend, I will definitely look you up.

Neesie, I met with a personal trainer today - yikes.

Faith, I usually buy frozen cookie dough so I can bake a few cookies at a time.  I've felt like baking though so bought some chocolate chips.

Idol is on so that's it for me tonight.

Candie -- you really don't have to pump your own gas???? I don't think I can even find a regular gas station in these parts.  Its all self serve stations.  Not only do you have to brave the elements <cold, windy, hot> but then you have to deal with the nasty, dirty gas pump leaving your hand smelling like the gas.  I always keep a box of baby wipes in my car to use.

Candie, you live in NJ right?  My sister lives in NJ and I was totally shocked that you don't pump your own gas there.  Have had nothing but self serve around here for at least 20 years.

    Jas, Purell works great too.

Good Morning Beach Beauties!  What a beautiful sunrise this lovely morning over the ocean.

Candie:  They've brought full service back to a handful of gas stations but most are still self serve. I think it was a marketing ploy when gas prices started rising!

Margo:  Audrey was supposed to take objects with her to go with her book report.  She got up late today and rushed out the door without them.  It didn't help that at the last minute she wanted to pack lunch because school was having green eggs and ham for Dr. Seuss Day and she didn't want green eggs.  Luckily I saw the bag of objects and Karl drove them to her school before class started!

Jas:  Yep, sang along with that song!  Have a good day at the office!

Everyone have a nice day.  I'll be back later!

    Good Morning!

Beautiful, sunny day here! It is slightly windy but guess that is supposed to be in March-for here.

Angelcharlene-really nice beach pic to greet the day! Makes me want to be there just visualizing it. That was great, like Jaz said,as so many projects are "parent"ones and kids get so upset to have worked so hard. Oo you think that is why I still dream that I will be late for schoolbus?

    After abt a zillion yrs,funny!

Hope your day will go well!

Jaz and Margo-same here abt the pumping gas. I have both things in Jeep. Some stations in Raleigh have Purell on the side of the pumps which is nice. I found ne a place where they check the tires, fluids, etc as I hate that stuff.

Candie-hope your day goes well. I can't wait to hear what type of seashells are brought.

Janny-hi! Hope your area and angelchar's is clear now. I can't rememb if you were still having the rains this weekend. How are the lovely twins? They and the boys are so cute.

Amy-hi to you in AL Hope everything goes well.

Everyone have a good Thur! Got to run now and see you on the beach later on. Thanks for rthw great visits on this thread-so enjoy hearing abt everyone's day.

    Iris, good morning starshine!

(((Candie))) no, of course not.  We are here to help support each other.  Read my initial post .. well, here's a quote: "

    "Sisters are like angels,

    they lift us up

    to our own feet

    when our own wings

    have trouble remembering

    how to fly"

Hoping you will join me here where there is nothing to do but offer love, friendship, support and fun to each other. This journey is a tough one ... let's hold each other up, laugh when we can, cry when we need to, find hope, courage, strength and love with the help of one another. "

Please talk to us.  We're here to listen and to help you if we can.

Snow Jas???  Wow!  We have rain coming tomorrow, I haven't heard about snow .. yet.  I have to go see if I have something to wear that fits me anymore .. need to attend my Aunt Doris' funeral tomorrow.  She had alzheimers for a long long time and passed away on monday. I'm thankful she's finally at peace.  She was 81 and hasn't known anyone for a long time.  I may go out and get my hair cut .. it's long overdue.  Has anybody had to explain how to attend a funeral to a 2 year old?  Ava will be going since I couldn't find a sitter...she's very smart for her age.

Sorry to hear about your Aunt Passing, Charlene.  I probably wouldn't delve to deep with Ava............she will probably accept the explanation that your Aunt is sleeping...........especially if Ava doesn't remember her as she was.

Jasmine:  I always thought that Arkansas was a warm place............just told Shokk the same thing about Texas!  I guess I didn't realize that you worked from home most of the time.......................sure wish I could find a little something to do from home.

Iris:  Rubbing salt on our wounds.......................not so nice and sunny for us!  More snow on the way..................we've broken the record for the snowiest winter ever.............Big Whoop, eh!

Margo:  Girl............a personal trainer?!?!  I do give you credit though....you are one motivated cookie!  I peddled a bike for ten minutes at Physical Therapy and walked for 10 minutes (at 2mph!) on the treadmill.....suppose that doesn't exactly make me ready for the olympics!

Okay Girls...........I need some Good, EASY, low cal recipes........I know there is a recipe thread, but just glanced at it and didn't see what I was looking for.

Candie:  Of course you can come here and tell us your troubles!  We will still support all.................just doing it on the beach!

I'm not here all that much..................kinda wander around and don't stay at one place to long...............hope you all know how much you mean to me and know that I think of all often..............thanks for accepting me as I am and for saving my spot on the beach...........and for rolling me over when needed!!!!

Tomorrow is MOM.....(Margo!!) day.........another Doctor Appointment...just her regular with the pulmonary Doc...................I just don't see things getting much better for her..............she does well for her conditions and age........but some day I'm sure she won't be living alone.................OY!

Workers Comp sucks.............I just talked to the lady there and the questions are ridiculous...............Mind you, I faxed all this info to her and then I get a letter today saying that it is inperitive I call her.  She asked so many questions (same ones I faxed to her) that has nothing to do with the injury.  EX:  How do you file your taxes? (was gonna tell her I don't..jk), How much does DH make a month, What are ALL the meds I take and what are they for, How tall am I, Smoker, How much do I weigh.........you get the picture..................Nothing to do with a knee injury!

    Gotta run...........or limp..................see ya'll in a bit.

Neesie -- yes, I'm very blessed to have a job that allows me to work from home.  Especially, since until just this past week, I've had a long commute to go into the office.  I actually prefer to have some in office time <at least a couple of days a week>.  Working from home full time can be isolating.  You miss out on alot of important information sometimes.  Now with this new move, I can do this and not have to spend 2 hours each day on the road to be 'in office.'

Arkansas is usually a warm place.  In fact, its like living on the surface of the sun in July and August.  This is the first really significant winter stuff we've had so far this year.  I actually thought we would completely miss having to deal with it but here it is in the middle of March.  This will most likely be the last time this year to worry about it.  We were in the 70's just this past Monday.  We will be again next week.
