Biker,
That glorious picture you posted of the hammock on the beach.
We had a hammock right outside our bungalow.
One afternoon I fell asleep in it and woke up when it was dark.

Today I got started painting the mural for the nursery, on the theme:
"Once upon a time." Unicorn, princess and castle for little girly and a dragon, knight, etc etc for bouncing boy.
So today I painted a five foot tree that goes between the two windows. I know you'd all be proud.
Margaret: congrats on posting pics!!! You'll have to walk me thru sometime on how to do it.
Jas: so tickled about your life gaining more available time. Write a book!
Amy: keep thinking those good thoughts regarding the itches receeding.
Iris: will keep you posted as we get closer to the Aruba departure. The thought of it kept me warm today, while I shoveled the driveway -- so my dd could get to her ob apt! Geeeeesh. I want to walk the beach again.
Marsha: will attempt to track down your pics on the other thread.
Charlene: m.i.a........ hope you're ok, and that your computer's on vacation. Try plugging it into that swaying palm tree -- it worked for me.

Good morning Beach Ladies. I have to be up and out early this morning. I have to go finish packing up my cubicle. They are going to start moving us tomorrow and we have to be out of the building by Monday evening. When this management decides to move, they mean MOVE. Yahoo!

Hi girls, I think I need a day at the beach for sure, but a virtual one will do. One of my girlfriends who has had a recurrence of ovarian cancer just told her dr. Thursday that she doesn't want to continue treatment and doesn't want to know how much time she has left - she's not even 35 - and then I just logged on and saw Deb's news.....been a bad week for news. News like this just brings home the fact that you should cherish the relationships you have, real or cyber.
Amy, you had chemo yesterday...you feeling ok? Heard the shingles were improving.
Jas, I work two radio songs from home and love that I don't have to get on the freeway to commute, especially in Bay Area traffic. I would be excited if I were you.
Jan, the mom story gets better. Joe was retelling the story to my sister and relayed how my mother is a creature of habit. she dropped her car off at the MB dealer and they had to go back to get her pillow because she says she can't sit high enough to see. Keep in mind her car is 25 years old or so and the new MB that they gave her has the seat that rises. He said he had to stuff the pillow under her, so basically the steering wheel is in her lap, and then when he made her get out so he could drive, she couldn't get out because she was wedged in there so tightly. He had to pull the pillow out for her.
Sahalie, that sounds like a wonderful vacation.
Iris, I love your posts - your BBerry fingers put my iPhone fingers to shame when it comes to posting. Thanks for thinking of my friend.
Faith, there is another thread, I think in this forum, with detailed instructions on posting pics. I usually have to do it twice to get the picture posted.
Char, this angel is for you.

margo, did I already say this. I can't believe your mom spends $700 for seat covers!!!!! For the rest of my life that will stick in my mind.
hugs everyone, i'm going out side the sun is out.

Well, I'm home now. Got all my personal things moved and the rest labeled for the movers to bring on Monday. I could have let them bring my personal things as well but its just too easy for some of my nice technical books to get 'lost' during a move (happened before) so I usually move all that myself. Its all stored in the bins in the new cube and locked tight. I'm really excited about this move. I haven't worked this close to home in over 10 years now.
I hope everyone else is having a good weekend so far. Susan, I'm so glad to see you stop by. I've been a little worried about you.

Hi, hope everyone's Saturday is going well.
I had a very hectic week. Got some things done around the house today and I just got home from Mass. I read earlier so I could post.
Faith, must be so cool to be getting nursery ready for 2 babies. The mural sounds beautiful. Gosh, you are so talented. I was in the chat room last Saturday night. It was so good to be there. My,so many new people! When are you going to Aruba? Are you going to Pink's?
Iris, I still have to put my pics on disc. Here in the NE, we too, pull aside for funerals, tho, I have noticed that some people actually pull right in between funeral cars. People have become so rude here at times.
Jas,"The Rubberband Man"--I remember "The Midnight Special" too...wow. Beautiful words in the other song too. I love working close to home--only 12minutes and Iwouldn't have it any other way.Hope you have some extra time for you, now.
Jan,I worked for a dentist 37 years ago(oh I am showing my age again) I was a certified dental assistant. I left after 6 years as it wasn't for me. I felt bad tho as my parents paid for me to go to school for it.
Vickie,ty for posting about Deb. I am going right there after this.
Margo, congrats on posting pic. Love those cookies. LOL on your mom story.
Amy, hope your chemo tx went well. Glad those shingles are shrinking.
Charlene, where are you and your angels?
ok, going to see about Deb. I lit a candle for her at church tonite.
Love to all A to Z
Hugs and prayers,
Candie

Jas: Congrats on the "move" and getting things all settled so quickly.
Candie: I am NOT planning to go to Pink's this spring, due to the arrival of the twins. Just can't get myself cloned in time to be both places. You'll have to have fun without me.
Iris: you're so good at keeping track of all of us. Thanks for keeping us organized and checking in on everyone. So sweet.
Margaret: would you mind coming over to my house and helping me thru the whole posting pictures process? I'm intimidated by the very directions themselves: LOL!!
DebC: prayers for you in the midst of this latest news. Know that there are many praying AND cheering for you -- from around the globe.
Marsha: awesome pics!! A fun time was had by all?
Amy: prayers for the progress.
Sahalie: Bora Bora? Seriously? Sounds like a fairy tale come true.
Pictures, pictures, pictures!!
Biker: We're building in Ocala. We pronounce it: long OOOO, accent on the second syllable CAL and end with uh
CharAnglel: blessings. Sure hope it's just your computer that's tangled up.
You guys would be so proud of the progress on the nursery mural. Today I painted the twins as toddlers, sitting under the tree together reading a book, with their big brother peeking out from beyind the tree. Got some butterflies in the sky and birds in the tree. I've never painted 'people' before so I'm outta my gourd, cuz they turned out so sweet. Wish you could see!!

Happy Saturday Evening,
It was a lovely and sunny Saturday-somewhat windy. The temps will be even better tomorrow-yeah! Not sure abt others of you,but I like being outdoors and get restless just watching TV/house chores.
Jasmine-was that "Rubberband Man" by the Spinners? Got that on iPod as I have all their big hits on iPod. Love that group! I always play all your selections when I get back to 'bigscreenland' since I can't get it on BBerry. Great you got lots of office/books items moved today.
Candie-sounds like you were working hard doing things I should hv done. Tomorrow,I will accomplish more-sinus headache put a damper on getting things done. Good to know that other places respect processions,I surmised-just had to argue w/my father. Funny thing is I later learned that I had taught one of the children from this mother. Would that hv not been impressive for this adult to see her third gr teacher being rude in traffic?
This is so much funnier the next day than when it was happening.
Margo-your angel was so beautiful and so very comforting today. Thank you as it was helpful and so etheral. Hope that your Saturday was a good one. Did you go for a Starbucks this morning? I am planning on that next wk when I go back to my house. I like the foamy(bad)peppermint treats! Then, added whipped cream-too much. What is your favorite flavor(s)? Funny abt your mom and her seat covers;pillow. I can see where Joe might decide to drive. He is a good guy!
Susan-great to see you here and glad it was sunny. Thought abt you as my mother and I did beaucoup errands after her hosp labwork yesterday. She left her changepurse @last store. Luckily, the cashier had found it and locked it in the store's safe. I was thinking abt your trip to shopping ctr and finding your wallet at a store. Hope I have all my details correct-sev wks ago. There are good people everywhere-just we don't always see them or hear it told/media.
Angelcharlene-the angel that Margo posted reminds me of yours. I think abt the words of this thread certainly match the beauty of the pic. Margo is right abt cherishing cyber and real friends. Thinking of you and the beautiful girls!
Amy,how are you this weekend? Hope all goes well with both neat families-people and cool animal friends. Will check and see where the wedding is to be. Never seen an invitation with a magnet that did not give wedding details. I am thinking that she must go to/went to JSU? I will find out if she is from Gadsden-Glencoe area. Have a good wknd.
Marsha-so glad to see you yesterday,I think it was. Your pics and vis sounded terrific, are you planning a summer or fall play yet? I know I am rushing you, aren't I? I love your area and have pics of me in The Glass Bottom Boat-at age six! Now,that is an antique! Wonderful area where you are!
Faithandfifty-the room sounds magnificent for the grandchildren. The once upon a time would be enchanting;such talent! One friend, yrs ago, would use fabric and paint to make murals. It was absolutely awesome. I can imagine the tree and your neat descriptions of the children! Hope it is OK that as a "cyber aunt",I am helping you with sympathy eating. Wish your daughter could weigh for me next wk at rad dr's office. I so hate that part!
I did not intend to write so much. Pls skip the ramblings of a beach buddy! See you on our beach walk. Won't be long before Sunday here.
Happy Trails on the Beach!

Hello Beach Sisters !! I'm back from Florida. It was nice, but pretty cool. The high temp. was about 58, but thats better than the single digits they had here.!!! It was nice to get away, but while I was in Florida, my brother-in-law passed away, then when we got back, found out a friend had passed away. Then I read the posts about Deb C. The week away was nice, but now I'm feeling so sad and drained by all the sad news. Thank-you for being here at the cyber beach---I need another vacation !!
Prayers and HUGS to all0 -
grrrrr--stomping in the sand again; therapuetic, hard to stay angry at the beach. TV repairman finally showed up today--we live in the boonies and it was a 180-mile rt drive for them, but they got the big screen back up and running...
supposed to leave Mon for a trip to see family--3 hr dr to airport, and ICE/SLEET forecast...bummer...digging deep to come up with some back-up plans...
sorry, that I don't address you each indivudually--not my style, although I follow you each closely.
SO! Plopping my skinny old butt down in the nearest chair closest to the ocean and yelling for that cabana boy to bring me a drink!!!
huggggssssss, junie

Junie, I like your style---Where the heck is that boy ????

Hi Barb,
So glad that you had a good time in FL. I was so sorry to read abt your BIL and your friend's deaths. The last two weeks have been challenging for so many. Thinking of you!
Was the flight easier the second time than the first as far as nerves? It has been so long that I am not sure I remember all the things we did in preparation. That time the plane woild taxi down the runway and landing in large, lighted cities were favorites of mine. Glad you are back! Hope you missed the FL power outtages where you were.
Iris0 -
Hi Iris, The flight was good. I wasn't nervous at all. We flew on a C-130 military plane. I would have been more nervous flying commercial. We stayed with some friends in Largo Fl. We had strong wind, with thunder and lightning on Tuesday night, but didn't loose power. I think Miami lost power.

Good Morning....Having breakfast right now than off to CCD. I planned on going to my water exercise class this morning but chose to stay in bed instead. Just wanted to relax.
Have a great day!!
Hugs and prayers,

Quick flyby to see how everyone is doing.
Susan, yup, she spent $700 on seat covers. She wanted my sisters and me to give her money toward them for her Christmas and birthday gifts. She spent a quarter of what her car is worth on those seat covers.
Jas, glad you got everything moved.
Faith, I have an entire wall that I would love to have done in a mural with an Italian scene - if you ever come out my way and want to do my mural, you have a place to stay! Break down the directions for posting, it really makes it simple.
Candie, glad you liked my mom story. Did you know that in my case mom stands for Master of Manipulation?
Iris, my Starbucks drink of choice is a grande non-fat latte extra hot. I figure I get my calcium and less calories. It the weather is hot I'll have a coffee frappucino, no whipped cream. Mom must have picked up her car by herself yesterday because she has it back.
Char, I will need to find out where you get your beautiful angels. Photobucket didn't have a lot of great ones, maybe it's what I put into my search string.
Barb, sorry to hear about your BIL and friend. You've been hit with some bad news lately. Barb, how do you find out about military flight schedules? That would be cool to fly in a military plane.
Junie, glad you got that TV fixed. My hubby would be going through withdrawals if he had to go without.
0 -
Not much time today, have to go to my BIL's wake today--funeral tomorrow. Just wanted to say good-morning to all the beach people. Hope you all enjoy the day, the sun is shinning beautiful here today.
Margaret, my DH is retired from the Navy, so we go to the Niagara Falls Base to check the schedule--we can fly anywhere for free, as long as they have enough room. We usually stay on the bases, the rooms are beautiful, and only $ 30.00 per night.0 -
Barb, that is such as awesome deal. My hubby works for an airline so we can fly for free, we just need to plan well so we can get on the flight, and the rooms for $30 - wow. I'm supposed to be in Maui early August so if you find yourself that way, let me know.
Margaret

Awww Junie.............I thought I really liked you until you said you were plopping your "SKINNY" butt on the beach! Well, save me a towel cuz my "FAT" butt is coming to join you!!
Waving a white flag to see if I can still come and play or relax..........Miss everyone..........and todays priority is to read back a few pages and see what everyone is up to.............(NOTE: The day is 3/4 over with) guess I'll do some speed reading!
Good Lord, is spring really 'just around the corner'? I hope Michigan realizes that cuz I am really getting cabin fever!
Okay ladies....back to the diet for me starting tomorrow..........Lost 40 pounds last year......(remember the Visa and the Pond?) Well, SOB.....guess who has put 20 of it back on................and it's all in the trunk! Is it possible to 'catch' anorexia for about a month????
Hey to all and I'll be back!
Neesie

Hi Junie, nice to see you.
Barb, I'm a nervous flier. I bet I would feel safer also on a military plane than a commecial one. Free flight, wow.
Margo, she spends $700 on seat covers and then expects you to pay her back. I can see why you get frustrated. Margo, if you get free flights, why can't you come to pinkstock.
Neesie are you starting the Visa diet tomorrow??? Or are you doing it yourself.
OH, Get your money out. Here comes the waiter.

Happy Sunday Evening Beach Buddies!
Hope all of you had a great Sunday! Here,in NC,it was one of the nicest days in several weeks. Walking was not too windy and the whitecaps were absent-so,a few brave folks were fishing and boating. I thought of all of you while walking along the water.
Junie-great to see you. Sounds like you got the TV repaired and that the wintry weather is still there. Are you planning another trip to see the grandbaby that you recently did not see? I saw a few daffodils today on my walk. It reminded me of your 1000 you mentioned.
Barb-will be thinking of your BIL tomorrow. So sorry for the loss for your family. I think you would enjoy Hawaii if ever you have the opportunity to fly there. Margo always posts lovely pics of her vacation spots and Hawaii is my fave(of the beaches/resorts posted) so far.
Angelcharlene-I was reviewing the pics in this lovely beach thread. I was struck by the beautiful and pristine scenes where the water looks like a kaleidoscope of awesome colors! You are right that we can offer each other strength, love, and hope during challenging moments. All the friends I have made,at bco,are cherished. Best to you and those precious girls! Finally,I figured out who Miley Ray was-Billy's daughter! It didn't mess up "An Achy Breaky Heart". LOL
Faithandfifty-hope you had a nice Sun. Can't rememb if your area was getting more snow this wkend? Thanks for saying that I am organized. I have not finished the tax receipts yet. Somehow,I just procrastinate and do not want to organize those records. Maybe I will do it tomorrow-sounds like the theme from "Annie" LOL. Still marveling at your "Once Upon a Time"-terrific theme! Fairy tales were my first love as a young reader.
Candie-that is great abt water exercise classes. Do you find them easier on the joints? That is what a dr advised someone I know. She joined the Y and felt it helped her.I think Sundays and sleeping later are often just the thing after a busy week. Were you teaching third or fourth gr CCD classes in the fall? I may hv confused you with another teacher.
Margo-thank you for the kindness abt the typing on BBerry. It frustrates me:but I tell it often it is a machine after all. It has last laugh! LOL. I bet you and your family had a nice Sun as the weather channel showed good temps. I will try the non-fat at Starbucks next week. Lovely pic today as the brilliant sky colors were awesome!
Neesie-so glad to see you! I am hoping your snow soon decides it is spring for real. You have had lots of the white snowy days and long stretches of winter. I do remember your diet as I kept eating all those terrible ice cream cones and you were so good. Next week,I go to onc and just once I wish they would say we apologize as our scale is broken and excuse any inconvenience! LOL
I hv gained and gained-so,Neesie,we will start together, for me abt the millionth diet! Still eating my red delicious apples from MI-got 12 lbs left.
Hello to everyone! It is almost Monday and start of a new week. See you tomorrow on the beach, all you beach buddies. Hope you sleep well!
Iris0 -
Hi Susan,
Good to see you brought food. What is under the waiter's platter? Something delish and not fattening, right? I am going to try to forget abt how the cookies were calling my name-really loudly? Why is it the carrots call my name and I just never hear them like the carbos calling?
Iris0 -
Good Morning all.
Well its back to work for me today after being off 2 weeks with the shingles. It was nice being at home I must admit but had much rather do it without the shingles.
Jaz-I took some pics of the new goats and I need to get them posted here. They are growing up.
Iris-I was hoping the wedding was close by and you would be attending is why I had asked.
Faith and fifty-would love to see pictures of your paintings on the walls. They sound excellent.
Candie-hello to you. Is today a long work day for you?
Margo-700 dollars for seat covers still blows my mind.
Susan-hello to you. nice to see you and I always enjoy your post.
jan-more snow for ya? Yuck, I know you are ready for spring. We had a wonderful spring weekend and then tonight the thunderstorms possible tornados appear. Thats what happens in the south though come spring time.
Barb-thinking of your BIL.
nessie-hmm are you using the credit card this time for the diet? Be sure and let us know so we know where to look for you when DH gets the bill.
Charlene-glad you started this thread. I enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of it and there are some wonderful pictures on it as Iris mentioned.
Hello to everyone and I shall be back.

Happy Monday afternoon,Beach Buddies,
Hi Amy,so good that you are feeling much improved and back at work. I bet it was good to be back and know the staff missed you. That would be awesome to visit you and your families-both the human and pets. It must be in the Gadsden area. He is a fireman in Anniston and was a baseball player on the JSU team for his time there. You can bet we would have fun! So much I want to see, again. Will find out more details. I hope the kids are well and can't wait to see pics! Hv a great afternoon!
Susan-that little penguin helped me find the cookies last night. I was sure I had forgotten where they were-then,"a little bird told me".LOL Actually, pretty big bird in the black-and-white penuin outfit with his waiter's tray?
Angelcharlene,Ames is so right abt the relaxing and neat pics. It is what I see when I walk here on the coast. There are the clean shore areas and lovely blue skies. So,I sit and see the sparkling, blue water and no dumping is ever allowed. I am thrilled that the coastal areas are so clean and not littered-here. Although,I will admit that I am a beachcomber,by nature, and pick up litter on my walks. So,how goes the aft, there?
Hope the girls are well and Karl, too.
Margo, how are you this late Mon morn where you are? Hope that things go well and that you will have a great week. Thank you for the lovely pic yesterday. I can't wait to post more pics-just a few more days! So,how did your husband like the choc chip cookies Friday? They were awesome,I know! Are Jocelyn and Jacob coming over this afternoon? Thinking that Mon was their day to visit.
Lovely day here-not windy at all! Walking in the sun will be such a fun time. Not bragging-sorry for those of you in colder areas, you can remind me of the hot temps come summer. We have hot summers on the coast. For now, this is good.
Hv a pleasant afternoon,everyone!
See you later on the beach! Thinking of everyone!

Good Monday afternoon,
I decided to eat lunch at my desk to day so I can read and post. I am starting back to my water exercise class today. Been flaking off the past few weeks, what with my vacation and all. I really need to get back into a routine as my knees have been hurting. The pain was subsiding when I was doing them regularly.
Barb, sorry to hear about your BIL
Neesie,I need to lose weight, too. I just get plain old lazy with it
Iris,I noticed my crocus'(sp) and tulips peaking through the ground. Can't wait for them to get to full bloom. They are always so pretty.
4th graders is who I teach. I love it so much...I love looking at life through children.
Amy,hope you enjoy your 1st day back at work. No,Amy,today is a 9-5 day, thank goodness...but Thursday will be another 9-9.
Margo, $700.00 for CAR seat covers???
I know I didn't mention everyone but know I love you all.
Waving to all......
Hugs and prayers,
Candie

Good afternoon Beach Ladies. I'm finally online at my new cube. Took all morning for them to activate my port. Now if they would hurry up and move my telephone. Its pouring down rain here today but its kind of soothing. And the nice thing is that I only have to go a a short ways in it to get home this afternoon. I really like this building...all kinds of cool things that the rest of us in the other buildings weren't privy too. No wonder they wanted to keep it for marketing only. Too bad..so sad. They actually have a Starbucks in this building. How nice is that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I better run for a bit. I'll try posting more tonight and tomorrow should be back to normal routine and I'll post the song of the day.
