Jas,that sucks that you are going to get snow. We are supposed to get rain/snow tomorrow. I hope it's just rain. It's great you can work from home sometimes. My DIL works for Aetna and she works from home full time.
Hey there Neesie, how goes the PT? All that paperwork sounds awful!!!
Gotta go, lots on the TV tonight!

HI
So glad to see you all at the beach today. That's where I would like to retire to...a beach in South Jersey. I have been feeling crappy lately...not physically. I haven't taken my arimidex or my heart palpitation pills in a week and a half cause I can't pay for them The prescription coverage I have--I have to pay up front and then I get back 50% from Horizon and then 30% from our broker. But it can take up to 6 weeks. Sometimes I put it on my MIL's credit card but I am already holding up $400. on it and I don't want to ask her to do it again. Because of all my scripts I don't make enough to cover my monthly bills and mind you I don't have any credit cards. I never had them and I don't have any credit. I am a lil nervous not taking the arimidex. My life is complicated. My DH and I are actually separated but we are best friends. He helps me as much as he can but he doesn't make alot either. He never left my side all during my dx,surgery and chemo and rads. I didn't tell him about my script dilemma before he went to CA. cause he had saved for that trip for awhile and he deserved to be away after all he went thru with me with bc. Girls from NYC (20 min. from me) are meeting this sunday. I can't go cause I can't afford it. I am so tired of money crap. My kids are grown and this should be the time when I can do things but the bc ruined me financially cause my ins is not that good. Mind you , my company changed our ins. 2 days before I started chemo. Not on purpose of course. and I work for wonderful people. It depresses me sometimes and my family (not my DD's) just don't get it. Well, that's all I will moan about tonight ...thanks for listening. That alone will make me feel better.
Margo, would have been so nice to meet you. One day I will come to CA...or maybe u will come here to see your sis.
Jas,I always heard that NJ was the only state where we don't pump our own. I don't know how true that is. Thanks for the song...another good one. I love your selections.
Charlene, oh how cute that Audrey didn't want to have green eggs. Lil children are so precious. I sang the song too with John Denver..such a pretty song. Sorry to hear about your Aunt Doris. You can't explain that to a 2 year old...just tell her she is sleeping with the angels.
Amy,how you doing back at work?
Neesie, one of my toenails are growing!!!
We have a heavy NorEaster heading this way this weekend. All rain for my area, thank goodness.
Thank you for listening.
Oh,Margo...my hubby called...his one cousin lives in Redland and the other Sherman Oaks...are you near there? He stayed in West Hollywood last night ,tonight in Redland with his cousin.
Gotta go and get ready to go home
Hugs and prayers,
Candie

Hello beach buddies:
My radiation burns are healing and I'm feeling great. I don't know how long that will last since I have to start an AI next week.
Anyway, I have Marco Island to look forward to in April. Believe me. I'll be spending beaucoup time on the beach. Those tropical drinks look delicious and the pictures of the beaches, so inviting. I'll put you all in my suitcase. When I'm having trouble falling asleep, I visualize that I'm at some of these places and I drift off peacefully.

Candie -- gentle hugs! Vent away. I really think there are some agencies out there that can help you pay for your scrips. You shouldn't have to go without.

Hello, Beach Buddies.
It's been a crazy week for me. Sorry i haven't had time to catch up too much, but Charlene, I'm sorry to hear about your aunt. My BIL that just passed away, was only 62. He had alzheimers for at least the past 8 yrs. He was the youngest person to be diagnosed with alzheimers. My sister, who is also a BC survivor, took care of him night and day, even though he was in one of the "best" nursing homes in the area. They have been together since they were 16 yrs. old. I think my sister is a saint !!!! Sorry to be rambling.
Hope everyone is having a good night at the beach-----It's good to be back!!
((((HUGS)))))0 -
Shrink -- I'm so glad to hear that you are healing well after the radiation. I'm going on a diet right now so I can fit in your suitcase.
Barb -- welcome back. I'm so sorry to hear about your BIL.
Charlene -- I forgot to tell you how sorry I am about your aunt too.

Thanks ladies for your condolences for my aunt. I've decided I'm just going alone to the services and Karl can stay home with Ava. He didn't know my Aunt either and my mom and sisters will be there .. it'll just be easier this way! He and Ava can always join us for the Social later. Audrey will be at school and then at a friends house.
Neesie .. You will Always have a spot on the beach! It's nice that you pop in when you can! Worker's comp asks how you file your taxes?!? wth? Sounds like you're jumping hurdles! How is your knee feeling?
Jas .. I would have liked the heat you have in July and August once but since I now have hot flashes it no longer sounds so appealing!
Janny .. Hey neighbor!
Candie .. I'm so sorry to hear what you are dealing with. I Hate how anybody has to worry about finances when dealing with this godawful disease to begin with. I think Jas is right in that there must be some agencies out there to help. Have you tried contacting anyone in New Jersey? You also may want to open a credit card. It might be important for you to establish credit if you can. I'm worried about you not being on your meds. Maybe your doctors could point you to someone who could help?
Shrink .. so glad to hear you're feeling great and healing! Marco Island .. I Can't Wait! I'm glad to hear the pics here help you get to sleep peacefully. Good luck with the AI. I told my onc no thanks, I'm staying on Tamoxifen!
Barb .. Oh my, your BIL was way too young for alzheimers! The woman who cut my hair tonight was telling me about her neighbor whose husband has alzheimers and she tried to suffocate him .. the wife was going insane just trying to cope with her poor DH's condition. Terrible situation for all involved. I bet that was very hard for your sister! She sounds like a saint!
Faith .. love and sunshine back at ya!
In fact love and sunshine to all my beach beauty buddies too!

Hi to all of you Beach Buddies,
Oh,I am so excited---I am including a pic of a fave spot as a last reminder of the shore-for a few wks. However,I am in my real home tonight and so good after being gone for 15 days!!! Even the laundry does not look that bad! LOL
Neesie-so sorry abt the knee and all the other stuff that is so annoying. It sure seems that they need to know lots of info. I know this isn't polite;but,do you feel like asking if they are writing your biography? Thinking of your mom and I know all abt the caretaking. Had to leave today as it was just too much of the parental"bonding"and I felt I had been superglued to another place! We are getting rain tomorrow. Does that sound a little better? Better yet, come on down with Susan and man,we could have a blast from the past and future!
Candie-this thread is like angelchar said and nice, caring friends.I agree abt some days. Today was tough and I was having a very difficult time with my father who is 81. The first thing I did after checking on mail and tel calls was call my best friend. It was like I needed some "ears" to hear me. If ever you need "ears" or "heart",we are here. Thinking of you and hope tomorrow is better.
Jasmine-are you serious abt more snow? You have had some really interesting days lately weather-wise. It was 71 here today and who knows next week may be snow, too?? Glad you are able to work from home for some days. Going to stay up and play the songs tonight! Yeah!
shrink-Marco Island sounds lovely and I can have my things packed way before April! LOL You will have a great time and I can't wait to see the pics of the beaches.
Barb-glad to see you as I have been thinking of you and your family. You are right abt your sister and how fortunate they were to find each other at such a neat age. Take care!
Susan-how are you and hope that Springfield has sun and lost the snow. It is unreal how much snow(sorry,Neesie)that the Midwest keeps getting. Spring is coming and soon! How is Buffy the WonderDog??? Love that little dog!
Janny-hi to you and Happy Friday! Hope that you and Mark are having a good day and nice weekend. Your twin grandkids must be such fun at that age. Always did want a twin and bet angelcharlene can tell us lots of neat twins stories.
Margo-how are you and hope that your day was good. Like Neesie said, that is so awesome abt a personal trainer! I remember when you were doing the "bootcamp" and admired your diligence. You may have already told the hours when you are going. I will read back and catch-up.
Amy-hope your Friday will be a great one! I know that you have enjoyed being back at work,as much fun as work can be-LOL. I am waiting to see some pics of the kids. I bet that they are getting bigger and bigger.
Angelcharlene-so sorry abt your aunt and will be thinking of you tomorrow. I am behind on reading since I was traveling today and need to go back and read. That was awesome what you wrote to Candie and it is the exact way that I feel abt this thread. Coming here is like a second home-kind people and I love to read what is happening in each person's world. Thank you for beginning the thread and all the hard work. I cherish the friends that I have made and all the special memories at bco threads/friendships acquired. Take care and best to Karl and the lovely little ones. I love that "Good Morning Starshine" version by Oliver-his brother was one of the athletic directors at UNC-Chapel Hill. Funny that you always pick my fave songs! Thank you for all the kindnesses and caring;the week was challenging and I thank you!
Happy Days to see the bigscreen computer!!! It is just awesome after my little BlackBerry or tuttifrutti computi as I call it. However,I love having it to keep up with my Beach Buddies.
Happy Friday to all of you wherever you are! Here's to a great weekend!!
Iris

Good morning beach buds
Welcome home Iris! Thank you about my aunt. Neat story about Oliver's brother! Oh that's a beautiful favorite spot you have .. I want to be there! Well I can be here in my mind. That's true what you wrote about coming here and I appreciate it. I feel the same way!
Hope all have a beachy Friday!

A quick pop-in to thank you all for being here for me. I don't know what I would do without you all (getting teary eyed). It's the only place on earth where people truly understand. I have tried some organizations and got nowhere cause in reality I do have isurance. I really should check harder into help for myself. Thanks for the encouragement. Well, I need to work. Will check in later. Welcome home,Iris.
Hugs and prayers,
Candie

(((Candie))) .. did you notice the angel I posted last night? I picked her especially for you. Take a close look at her hair ... theres an idea for all your beautiful seashells!0

Candi I am losing a toenail. First time in my life. Very strange
Iris, welcome home.
hello to everyone else. no snow for us. just a delightful day at the beach.
sorry i'm not talking more. i'm at work. <grimace>

Charlene, I did see the angel. so pretty. But I didn't notice the seashells...wow...thanks.
Hi Susan...yep about the toenails...one is growing now tho. I am work too.
See ya later beach bunnies.

Candie, I have a friend who has insurance but pays for her AI out of pocket. $300 a month. Her onc gets samples and gives them to her. He even switched the type AI she was on to the one he gets samples of. Said they all work about the same anyway. Usually he gives her 3 months at a time and then makes sure to ask the drug rep to leave more on his next visit. Talk to your onc. OK? Marsha
0 -
Thanks Marsha. My onc gave me a voucher for the arimidex at no cost the first time, but said he can only give one per patient. I called Cancer Care today and they gave me the name of a few agencies that may be able to help me. They are also sending me an application to see if they can help me. so far I checkedd out 2 on-line but it is only for people who are not insured. I will call my onc. I am a nervouse wreck not taking this arimidex. Thanks again
Hugs and prayers,
Candie

Hello beach buddies, I just had to stop by the beach for a while. It has been snowing steady all day. So far, we have about 6 inches. Tomorrow is suppose to be worse, because the wind is suppose to pick up, and we might get at least 12 inches of snow.---I did see a couple of Robins today !!! Guess Spring can't be too far off.
Hope everyone had a good day---sending positive thoughts to ALL.0 -
Yet another snowstorm on our central OH beach..... this is soooo much more winter than we're used to. I have a big dilema, in that I am supposed to present a workshop tomorrow a.m. @ a university down the road. I'm on first thing. Will probably need to leave here @ 6 or so, to slide carefully there -- then probably won't have anyone else goofy enough to brave it.
My dd just said that OH State has cancelled everything for tomorrow & that I'm a nitwit to consider going. What to do? What to do?
Pass me another one of those drinks with the cute umbrellas.
Candie: my heart goes out to you for your scrip concerns. Do chase down every support system possible. You must be your own advocate. I know it's easier said than done. Find the energy, you're worth it.
CharAngel: thinking of you today with your aunt's passing. Give us an update on how things unfolded.
Nessie: I've just finished PT and then told me that it stands for Physical Torture. Seemed pretty accurate.
Barb: it's amazing what we do for family. So sorry to learn of how Alz compromised your BIL's days.
Iris: glad that you're home safe and sound. Now you'll have more time to document the comings and going of the beach crew, right?
Jaz: thanks, my new friend.
Marsha: great idea for Candie regarding the samples. Will keep that idea in mind should anyone else need such support in the future.
Susan: thanks for the gorgous pic.... I'll join you there after work. (Be patient -- I'll have to shovel outta the driveway; LOL)
Margaret: let's just eat the cookie dough...... that's my favorite form of cookies. Why bother baking?
Shrink: so glad that the radiation is healing
sand castles, sea shells, and a cook-out tomorrow.... have my picnic hamper all packed. get the chairs in a row -- we need to catch up on all of our girl talk.

Hi Beach Buddies!
This was a coastal scene from NC that I liked. So,I apologize that it is larger than I had hoped. With daylight savings time beginning midnight Saturday---will be an interesting Monday morning! LOL
Neesie-this is for you to see when you come to visit me! Bring Susan and all the others that have had enough of the snow... Thinking sunny thoughts for warmer days there. How is your mom?
Candie-hope that today was better than Thur;thinking of you. New flowers today reminded me of spring is coming---slowly.
Marsha-nice to see you and hope you had a great Fri!
Susan-neat pic! I love those vibrant colors!
Angelcharlene-thought of you today and your family at your aunt's service.
Thanks for the lovely scenes;great way to start a new day!
Barb-glad to see you and thought of you this week as well as your family.
Faithandfifty-sounds like you might be "snowed under" with your weather.Wow! A cook-out would be great! Good luck with your presentation.
Everyone have a great Friday and pleasant Saturday!
See you on the Beach,Buddies!
Iris

Good morning Beach Ladies! Happy Saturday. Iris that is a great pic. I can't wait for spring.
0 -
Good morning Beach Beauties! It's sooo good to be here to plop down on the sand and say to heck with the real world! I'm imagining doing what this guy is in the pic above! OMG, I couldn't hold on even for a second if I were doing that for real!
The services for my Aunt Doris were really nice yesterday. Karl joined me at the Social afterwards at the American Legion with Ava and she just lit up everyones faces!
I got home late afternoon from that and I find an email from my Dad telling all of us that he had a heart attack last weekend and was just discharged from the hospital on Thursday! He thought he was just coming down with a bad cold when he felt the chest pressure. So he flies from NC to VA for his wifes grandsons birthday party and waits until he gets home Sunday and takes a shower before going to the ER, even though he had to keep stopping when walking due to SOB and didn't sleep at all Saturday night due to chest discomfort. He's 72 and in really good health otherwise. The doctors found his right artery clogged and inserted a balloon catheter and stent and opened him right up. He volunteers giving tours at a museum and he's ready to go back to that on Monday! He didn't suffer any permanent heart damage thank goodness! He said everything happened so fast and he didn't want to worry anyone so he didn't call anybody. He has 7 kids. Needless to say, we weren't too happy to find out After he's home what happened! My dad is a really intelligent man .. a member of Mensa .. but him denying all the signs he had of a heart issue and going home to take a shower before going to the ER show how sometimes very smart people have no common sense! I say that in the most loving way. I'm grateful he's seemingly okay.
I'm done stomping in the sand and feel better now!
Susan, I love the seats you chose at the beach yesterday. Nothing like watching a sailboat out in the ocean on a beautiful day.
Iris, I'm often making my pictures larger than I wanted to! It's okay, what a gorgeous place. I know you cherish it! I love hearing about how nice it is where you are.
Marsha, Great advice to Candie. Even if the Onc can't do all the freebies they should be able to point Candie to people who can help her.
Candie, Thinking of you. I hope you keep pushing until you get somewhere with help. I'd be a nervous wreck too if I had to stop my Tamoxifen. But I do know that some Oncs have given vacations to women suffering some bad SE's on the AI's .. hopefully that calms you a bit about being off of it short term. I understand how you're feeling though. Let us know if you keep running into brick walls. We'll come up with something!
Barb, It's good to see you! You're so cheerful and friendly! I feel for you with the snow and must say that I'm glad I don't live where you do! Do you like the snow and cold?
Faith, I'm wondering how it went for you this morning? Did you stay or did you go now? Dilemmas like that are very stressful! It's been cold and very very rainy here in southcental PA. Roads are flooding! Sandcastles, seashells and a cook out sound like just the ticket today!
Jasmine, Happy Saturday! Only 12 days to go until spring! lol
Margo, how are things with you, I don't see your usual friendly daily post.
Saying hi to Amy, Janny .. oh, I'm not going to do this because I will forget too many people! Hoping all have a super Saturday!

BLIZZARD @ our beach today. Crazy. For Pete's sake!! (I've edited my real thoughts, so you continue to think of me as a person you'd share your sunscreen with.)
My family voted and they decided I wasn't allowed to go to my conference today. I can relate to your father being brilliant and not demonstrating his intelligence. It took their majority vote to make me do something smart.
CharAngel, I'm so glad that he is seemingly ok. I didn't tell my adult daughters about my bc dx, until I'd already had surgery and was half way thru rads -- but that's a long story. Another sunny afternoon.
Well thank all of the angels in heaven that these twins seem content in their mommy's warm toaster-oven, because we'd need to find a snowmobile if they wanted to get to a hospital.
Send us some of your beachie sunshine. Fortunately we are all here under one roof and have power & plenty of food in the pantry. Hopefully we won't get too bad a case of cabin-fever.
take care

Hey Beach Buddies!
I did not mean to delete my pic of the coast! Will try it,again, one day. Ha!
It is windy here;but very sunny;not complaining and not bragging. We get so many hot, summer days. Then,we wish for cool---funny really.
Jasmine-thank you abt the pic;it was too big,but I like that camera. I have been enjoying the music clips and it gives me ideas for adding to my iPod music library.
Angelcharlene-hope that your Sat goes well. I tried water skiing once and the driver was not aware of how to pull skiiers;not that fun to splash face-first! There were lots of water skiiers near my parents' property. So glad that your dad is doing better and it sure is annoying when not told of parents' medical concerns. Thanks for the welcoming and your kindness abt my humongous pic! I don't give up like I used to! OLO Like the Little Engine that Could...chug chug chugging up that hill...slower with all the added baggage(carbohydrates keep calling me!)
Barb-thinking of the weather where you are and bet your FL trip really does sound good today. Hope it will be melting soon and warmer.
Candie-how are you, today? Those are absolutely the most gorgeous seashells on the pic angelchar had for you. What lovely and creative artwork and a necklace would be a great idea. I have one from Bermuda(not real shells)but it is interesting and over 30 yrs old now. Thanks for the welcome back here as I really miss the fun and posting pics. Thinking of you,Candie!
Faithandfifty-think I will enjoy the March winds here and watch yours on TV. I am chatty,by nature, and friendly;don't write anything down;just like to talk as so many teachers do!LOL I do cherish the warmth and kindness here as I do several threads and forums. Thanks for your compliments abt my writing as I have loquaciousness! OLO
Janny-hey to you on this windy,March day! Hope you and Mark had fun when you were out this weekend. I love the pictures that you share! Afraid to ask abt the temps in PA? Hope the river is not at flood-stage near you.
Margo-thinking of you and appreciate all the kind things that you write! I hope you and the family have a great wkend! Still thinking of your friend and would like to send her a card if you would send me her address.
Marsha-bet the weather is awesome there! I will not ask! Thanks for all you do and I sent you an e-mail. I went back and read the article abt you since I have a screen now that I can finally see. What a great newspaper article!
Hello to everyone that I am missing! Have a great weekend and get all those many clocks set back because if you are like me,you always miss one or two!
On the beach is where you will find me...at least in my mind!
Iris

Sorry, haven't been around for a few days.
Candie, I'm so sorry you have to go through this crap for your meds. Have you looked into programs like Prescriptions for America (I think that's what it's called) or the pharmaceutical companies give free meds upon doctor's recommendations. I don't know about other states, but NJ doesn't have to pump their own gas! Sherman Oaks is in Southern California, I assume Redland is too - I live just south of San Francisco.
Shrink, Marco Island sounds wonderful.
Barb, your sister must feel lost.
Iris, my personal trainer is Tue/Thur at 5:30 am. I am going to lose weight, I am going to lose weight! Was it Jayne you wanted to send a card to? I saw her the other day and she didn't look so good - she looked very tired. I'll send you a link to her website.
Char, sorry to hear about your dad but glad everything is ok.
Back later. Love and hugs to all.

IT'S STILL SNOWING!!! This is really one for the record book. There hasn't been the first plow thru this accumulating nonsense!
Margaret: I'm so proud of you for your early morning personal trainer. Give us all of the pointers that you learn. Congrats on making such a strong committment.
Iris: I'll give you 25 cents for using loquatiousness. Maybe you could continue to give us a 'word-for-the-day'..... that would add to our fun at the beach. I'll bring a sudoku book to share. (BTW: I LOVE the rolling ocean waves pic. I seriously feel like I'm @ the beach!! I can taste the salt!) Applying more sunscreen.
CharAngel: sounds like your solution for the funeral was one that worked to everyone's advantage. I always think having some little teeny ones at the social times that follow the service, are the best therapy possible.
Susan: find us another great picture. I look forward to the images that you share.
I got back to the mural painting with today's snowed-in/not going anywhere day here. Progress!!

I am happy about going to Marco Island but I just starting thinking about the bathing suits I bought 2 years ago and how I'm going to make them work for my altered anatomy (bi-lat). Maybe I'll just wear shorts and a blouse and visualize myself in a bikini, sipping a pina colata and listening to the waves. I could still have the drink and enjoy the surf. The bikini days have been gone for some time.
Thanks, Iris, for the visual.
Hugs and prayers for all.
