    Good morning bathing beauties ~

Char - thanks for the fruity drink!  That pic of the beach was taken at the Sunset Beach Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica when my sisters and I went in Dec 06.  We practically had the entire place to ourselves.  Apparently mid-Dec isn't a popular time to vacation because most people wait until Christmas to take off work.

Faith - your DD is gorgeous!  Looks like she just has a big ball under her shirt!

Jas - I lived on Chunky Monkey during chemo.  Seriously I got nervous if I got down to 1 pint in the freezer.  Ate all of it I wanted to and didn't gain weight. Can't say the same thing today that's for sure!

Guess I'd better get back to work now.....hopefully I can make it back to the beach later today!

Group post..... today is our wedding anniversary. DH kidnapping me from here at "Twins Watch Central" to take me to dinner. He's the best kind of pirate -- his kidnapping is always top notch.

Thanks to all for your kind words re: my incubator. She's so uplifted by your comments. She nearly strangled me when I posted her pic, but your encouraging comments have been a delight to her.

Must go get wonder-boy from his naptime. We had about 2 hours of sun this morning, and now it's pouring again. That's why I "live" here at the beach. Your company is incredible, but the views here are so inspiring, compared to the window view.... that I lollygag whenever I have a moment.

Just got done painting the "jelly bean tree" that started this whole theme for the nursery.... wall number 3!! We found the cutest pic of it on the web -- and then it was off to the races. I hope the original artist is tickled to have me copying her original idea. People have been copying Van Gogh for centuries now. A good idea is a good idea, right?

Oh. And I got the second crib skirt sewn, ironed and tied into place.

Only 2 bumper pads to go......

    well and some more painting...........

sunny hugs to each & all, A to Z, 1 to 100, Alaska to the Outer Banks

    Hi girls,

Char, now Ryan needs to go to a specialist and he does need a hard cast, which he was hoping to avoid.

    Hi Peggy and SusieLouToo.

Jas, I made the potato soup last night - hubby now has my bad cold so he wanted some comfort food.  Ain't nothing worse than a sick man....can you say whine, whine, whine.

Iris, welcome home, we miss you when you are gone.

Faith, I hope you enjoyed your anniversary kidnapping.

Ok, sick man calling.  I'm in for a long week.

Hi everyone and a late Tues or early Wed,

angel-how was your day? Never experienced the teacher contract issue that you mentioned. So,I am unsure if the children are required to make-up lost days? Hope it all gets sorted soon;must be difficult for children and adults with scheduling situations. This state does not have teacher's unions,so I am no help. Thinking of you and your family. I cherish all the time that I spent looking back at the pics/songs on this site. There are some lovely ones!

faithandfifty-dinner sounded wonderful and what a great treat! Congrats! I did look at your site from bigscreenville and I still say...you sure look young! Beautiful site and what talents...awesome! Terrific on how much you have completed for the babies.

Candie-hope that your day went smoothly even though it was a long one.

Margo-thanks for your kindness! I am enjoying the house and hoping the ears and sinuses get w/the program! LOL Hope that dh is soon feeling much improved!

Barb-lovely pic for faithandfifty! I love those sparkly ones!

Jaz- I remember when the Beatles sang that when you're sixty-four and Paul has already turned the age. It seemed so long ago when they said it and now, time has caught up...interesting!

Fighting a cold and fighting a vis with the dr! LOL I hate to go as most of you prob can say the same. This is sinuses trying to have a sneak attack! Rest this aft did help and prob...now,I should try it,again. Good Night to all!

Best to all of you,Beach Buddies! Have a pleasant Wed!

Iris: Glad your Mom is doing better and you were able to come home for a bit!!

Faith:  April 18th.............that's my due date for your DD!  Glad she is doing so well!  And Happy Anniversary!

Margo:  DH broke something?????????????  I'm so disconnected.

    Jaz:  Staying dry????

    Angel:  Did the teachers Strike????

Okay, this is sounding generic so I might as well make it generic.............hoping to lay around on the beach later today........gotta jump in the shower and head in to my 'old town' and get hair cut and highlighted then head out to work.............kinda lame, but only time hairdresser and I could connect!!  What's a mere 70 mile trip to get hair cut!!

Hoping all are well.........I've been reading and trying to keep up with the beach buddies............save me a towel!

Good Morning Beach Babes .. can't stand this weather when it's cold at night and get's warm during the day ... I need Hawaii weather.  80/60 about everyday would work for me!

Margo, oh that's too bad about Ryan.  Did he at least do some damage to the other guy?  lol

Iris, hope your winning your sinus and cold battle.  I've got something going on myself, hoping I just need more rest.

Neesie, the strike is supposed to start tomorrow and it appears it's going to happen!  Heading over to the afghan thread to check out your gs and your afghan!

    Faith, how was your dinner?

Amy, thinking of you, I know it's test time coming on Friday.  Rooting for you!

Why can't I learn to stay away from stores!!  Got any suggestions on how to hide something that's 'bigger than a breadbox' and goes in the living room????   And if one of you would come over and help me get it out of the Car......that would be great!

I don't need to 'look for trouble'......it just finds me!

    LOL Neesie-

Put it next to a chair, cover it with knitting or newspapers and when you uncover it weeks from now insist it has always been there :) You're on your own getting it out of the car!  Wait until he heads for the bathroom with a newspaper....

Iris, how are the ears and sinuses today?

Neesie, DS broke his hand, defending a girl.  DH has a bad cold; he's more of a pain that my one-handed son.  I don't go 70 miles to get my hair done but I do do the 6 am appts - that's tomorrow's early morning appt.  Neesie, a retail therapist after my own heart!  Deb's idea is a good one.

Char, I'm sure if I were under those birds flying overhead, I'd be wearing something on my hair....ask me how I know!  Yes, the other guy quit hitting the girl after Ryan hit him.

Deb, I was going to suggest Neesie put it in a corner but your idea is much better.  She does have my curiosity up tho if she can't get it out of the car herself.

    I love my................

I like Debs idea....................the thing is 50 inches long and 26 inches high....think even he might notice a pile of papers and knitting that large!!

Nope Char....no handy neighbors around.............and "Grace" thought about tangling with the thing by herself.............but decided maybe it would be better camouflaged in my car with tinted back windows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, don't tell the man...............it's not real exciting...............it's a new TV stand..............didn't want a entertainment center, cuz then I'd have to entertain............the one we have just bugs me........to small and plain....so this one is bigger and plain!!

Stay tunnnnnnnneeeeeeddddddd...........................20 minutes to DH time and counting!

    Good job Neesie.

Char, we went to a SF Giants game, gorgeous day outside, and a flock of seagulls flew over and decided he had to go, right on my head!!  It was so gross.  I made Joe go buy me a sweatshirt with a hood or a cap, don't remember now but he still laughs over that.  So I know from firsthand experience.

Beach bunnies.... don't let Nessie try to fool you with that explaination of her bigger-than-a-breadbox purchase. I was with her all day while she shopped. I was able to talk her out of the macrame and shell plant hanger contraption and convinced her not to invest in the marble cabana boy statue. After that, she just couldn't be placated until her Master Card said: PRICELESS!

I was able to take a picture of her new living room adornment just before we loaded it into her car. Do you think it will embelish that MI snow backdrop of hers? Only time will tell. We know how she likes to entertain. You be the judge.

Hey Neesie and everyone! Were you looking for me??? I thought I heard my name called...that was my nickname from my father as I was usu in....got it,trouble! Most of my shenanigans were from clumsiness or as I called myself: Ms Coordination-Not!!! Glad you had fun today as it sure was fun reading your posts.

faithandfifty...glad you and Neesie had fun! I am reading the priceless moment and thinking how funny that is. You are a terrific writer and I look forward to getting your books for me. I kept so many from my teaching collection that I had box on box here. Hope the mom-to-be and the wonder boy and twins are all fine.

Margo...thanks for asking abt my sinuses/ears are stopped-up,but much better. Think that time and the allergy meds are helping. Glad that Joe was able to go to work today. That was interesting abt the bird and your experience as it happened on a beach field trip w/my third gr class. The children were feeding the seagulls and one came in too close to a little girl's sweatshirt and another found a mother's head. Not the ones that were troublemakers, unfortunately! We,all, laughed and the child/sweatshirt survived. The mother was not that amused abt her hair.

angel...lovely pics of the seagulls and the sky is awesome. The ones on the last pg have gorgeous colors as well. It reminds me of the hdtv pixels with the clarity of the colors here. This thread is awesome and all the posters are terrific! What is it page 36 in little over a month...terrific thread! I am going to drop a note to the mods thanking them for the support as I really do enjoy the time spent here. This thread has grown quickly and the posters here are awesome!

Deb...super to see you here and hope that Alaska is having a warming trend. Not sure what your spring is like there? It was mid 70's in NC today and beautiful. Not bragging...just a great day outside and wish you all were here.

Sahalie...that Cabana boytakes a nice pic and has nice pecs, too! I think a Cabana/Tiki Bar would be a great find on our beach walk tonight.

This seashell reminds me of the ones that we found when I lived near a coastal NC beach for three yrs of high schl. We found them broken and once in  a great while...a whole one! When broken apart, the tiny delicate birds are a reminder that even though the shell is fragile-the birds remain intact and rarely break. It reminds me of our lives-we are part of a larger picture and though we may get tossed around, our resilience re-surfaces and grounds us for future journeys.

All the best to each of you,Beach Buddies! Happy Thursday!

Good morning, bunnies. I feel quite behind in acknowledging everyone.

All is continuing well here at "Twins-Watch-Central" ...... only on occaision do I feel as though I'm in the midst of a FOX reality show. Tomorrow is her doc appt -- so will be asking him to consult his crystal ball for clarity. I'm starting to panic. I have BIG weekend conferences each and every weekend of April. Back when I set up my calendar of engagements I figured she'd have popped before now. YIKES!!! It's very good for the babes to continue baking, but not at all sure how I'm gonna manage??!??

Before I forget it (which I've done all week) my DH added the promo code to my website! He did it immediately after I asked him to & then I forgot to tell you. (TY DH) So if you have wee ones: my website is: www.rainbowswithinreach.com and when you get to the ordering portion of the site it will ask for a promo code. That's when you type in the word: survivor. It's programmed for you to automatically be able to get a 50% discount on the retail/web price -- of whatever you'd like. Hopefully if will work properly. If you have any issues, you could call the toll free number and have them process your plastic over the phone/manually.... telling them in person that I've sent you.

Whew. Now that the business portion of my post is concluded:

Thanks to all who offered their wedding anniversary congrats earlier in the week. This was our 14th and quite a delight. We're still over-the-moon about each other & our blended tribe is a blessing to all.

CharAngel: I didn't even see you there taking our picture as we strolled beachside after dinner. Perhaps you should consider being a paparatzie with such a good camera & your eye for composition?

I've been recalling all sorts of "two-year-old stories" by living with wonder-boy & reading your posts. I remember well the Christmas that I spent the night, in my sister's bathroom, not sleeping on a bed of towels with one leg strapped across a toddler who couldn't adjust to the change of routine and the amount of light in her guestroom. It was the darkest room I could find. My heart is with you mommy. Hopefully you're all back on the normal humdrum channel of bedtime by now and the jelly bean buzz has toned down.

Iris: glad to hear that you're beginning to feel better. I think the seasonal change in weather plays havoc with many folks. Yesterday was the first day that I've ventured out without my winter coat and hood tied down around my face. We took our third wagon walk of the neighborhood. Thanks to Margo's motivation.

Deb: so glad to see you pop in periodically. Know that I've been sending prayers with your name embroidered in the hem. I've been getting to know you, by spending some of my discretionary time here in the boards. LOVED seeing the pics of your family somewhere around here.

Nessie: Hopefully your new tiki bar has been properly installed & didn't shed too much in the process. Glad that your hubby likes it. When in doubt, bring the beach home. Have you trained that cabana boy to stay hidden till your DH leaves for work?

Jaz: have been meaning to thank you for posting "Take it Easy" as I've been humming it all week, as my theme song for the week. Great philosophy to thrive on. Today's splish splash is even more appropriate for me as head-rubber-duckie-bath-giving-gee-gee. Thanks. Smiling.

PG & SusieLou: Glad you were able to find my dau's pic. Now that you've learned how to navigate to this thread, I highly recommend that you frequent these beaches with us on a regular basis.

Barb: thanks again for the sparklie anniversary card. It really lit up my heart upon finding it. The strangest things make me get all 'teary' still.... your thoughtfulness reminded me just how much I appreciate all of you & what a great sense of team we've been building.

Candie: Please give us an update on your prescription situation. Has it all come together as per your initial understanding? If so, I want to send thanks to the angels in charge of those details.

Margo: I have decided to follow your good example and am working hard to get up & move with greater energy, in an effort to maintain at least a portion of the weight I was able to lose last summer -- with my very strict regimen. Living here in the land of yummies is a sincere challenge to my resolve. DD likes to bake!

Casinogirl: glad to have you back! LOVED the picture of your private beach, from your travels. How fortunate to have paradise to yourself.

Amy: I've lost track of where you are in your treatment plan, but keep you in my prayers for your strength and endurance. Hope that the chicks hopping about fill you with enthusiasm.

Marsha: we got our loan approved to start building the Ocala house. I think that this is truly gonna happen!

Sahalie: what else do you have up your sleeve? I've been lounging in that hammock ever since you pointed it out.

Susan & Junie: I keep looking for your updates regarding the flooding situation. Hope that your communities are pulling together to help each other.

Biker: time is getting closer & closer!! Thanks for the suggestion about the feeding log. Brilliant! And such a treasure to look back on.

To any I've over-looked with my swiss cheese memory, please accept a warm hug & add a tropical drink to my tab @ Nessie's tiki bar.

Here's a picture to start your day. I took it last month in FL on an early morning, hot flash induced, wake-up call that got me to the beach before the sun came up. I have no idea "how" the cross appears in the sun's a'risin? It's obviously a 'God-incidence' as my friend would call it. I didn't even realize that it had been captured as such, until I got them uploaded onto my laptop, quite sometime later.

Isn't that just like this thread that Angel had the insight to start? We come together out of pain, fear, isolation & frustration -- only to find the miracle of friendship, commradarie, encouragement, enthusiasm and hope. Girls, we have a whole new day at hand. Let the light shine in each of us, so that others may see it.

Thank you for allowing me to join in on all the shared journeys.

[and you know that it was Jaz who taught this old-dog, how to learn the new trick of co-mingling my pics w/my words -- twill always be grateful! we can each teach another something from our own unique toolbox.]

Faith -- I wholeheartedly agree with what you said about this thread.  Its the people who make the thread and when it is used by kind and caring people, it then becomes a family.
