Good morning Beach Ladies!  Happy Sunday.

Iris -- doesn't it feel good to get stuff out of your house that you don't need or use?  It feels so freeing to me.  If you can't find 27 things for the boogie fling, don't worry about it.  Even getting just 4 or 5 things each time will add up.  I'm getting rid of books right now.  Can you believe I still have books from my early college days.  Not the fun ones either....my economics book, accounting principles.  Who saves an economic book for pete's sake!  Besides,  all that information is outdated and on the internet now at the click of a button.

Faith -- I hereby award you the junior geek apprentice pink belt.

    Surprise song of the day!

Hi girls, I've been working on my non-profit - April 26, so we're getting close.  Spent most of the day at Jacob's baseball game and bbq/picnic today.  His coach is a big guy, was a gang banger in his earlier days, got out when he had kids, and stayed out by sports and coaching.  His family is very nice.

Faith, could you give me that website so I can check it out?  What great pics.

Iris, Sees Candy is the best.  My favorite is California brittle.  My sister who lives in NJ tells me that the things she misses most about moving to NJ is 1) fortune cookies; 2) Chinese food; 3) Red Vines, and 4) See's Candy.

Ok, 60 Minutes is on and there is a story on about a machine that kills cancer so I want to watch it.  Catch up with you all tomorrow.

Divine: you made it just in time to get in on the baby-watch poll!! (for my unborn grand-twins)Give me your date choice, plus time-of-day, please. Below are the ideas already selected by others here on this site:

    KimberSIS: April 7

    Norm: April 9, 9:18 pm

    Iris: April 11

    Margo: April 15

    Janny: April 16

    Nessie: April 18

    Candie: April 18

    Barb: April 19

    Puppy: April 19

    Wing Girl: April 22, 10:22 a.m.

    Alaska Deb: April 23

    AngelChar: April 26

I've consulted my paper & pencil version, so hopefully I've gotten everybody in who's selected so far. If not please note your choice again... as I am NOT the sharpest pencil in the pack.

I need time of day for Barb, Puppy, Candie & Nessie..... as you gals are all very much in the same zone. ****Remember there's a prize for the winner!

There's still ample time for the rest of you beach bums to get registered. I'm looking for dates & times from Jaz, Sahalie, Liz, Susan, Junie, and Donna off the top of my head -- and anybody else splashing at the shore.

Please join me this sunny afternoon on the SS Dreamchaser. It goes fast enough to catch your dream!! I've agreed to pilot this afternoon's dream quest. Let's live LARGE & OUTRAGOUS dreams together. Cheering each other's milestones, and envisioning great accomplishments ahead!! It's so much 'easier' when you're on the right team: the beach team

     Good Night, Beach Buddies

    Good morning!

I only read back a lil. Oh, Faith, I see DD is having contractions. Oh my, how exciting. Not one but 2 miracles!!!! How cool it is!

    Jaz,love the Odd Couple.

Sorry I haven't been posting here. I have been on the Humor/Games thread..I love to play. I have been a lil depressed lately. Heart palps not so bad....still didn't hear from ins.co. about stress test but I don't think I need it anymore....acid reflux been a b*&ch lately,I have to remember to take my meds for it regularly for awhile, breast I had surgery on is very sore, tender and sometimes painful..scared about that...gonna call onc today. Then, I decided to do my taxes...I owe...can you imagine...I can't even make ends meet, had to get help with the arimidex as you know and now I owe taxes...go figure...WTF!!! Oh, and then there was hospital bill from last yr when I was in for monitoring my heart I didn't know I had. So other than that, I am fine...lol.

Anyone hear from Charlene...tell her I send my love.

Have a great day, beach sisters. Off to get ready for work. I will focus on the fact that I am really on the beach, in my comfy chair, with a good book, drinking a "Miami Vice" and having you all on the beach with me sharing stories, laughing and enjoying each others company.

    Hugs and prayers,

    Candie

OK. So we stayed up until 1:30 a.m. with our stop watch running.... and then just as abruptly as they started they were gone.

She has her regularly scheduled ob appt this afternoon, when we'll get a lot more insight into what's going on???

Yes. I'm exhausted from the excitement and all of the 'what-if-ing' more than anything else. Kept trying to decide if I should call my DH to come over here for wonder-boy?? Waking him up after midnight to do so etc etc. Glad that we didn't get him over -- out in the middle of the night for the ramp up labor.

The nuttiest part of this is the current soap-opera that has blown into full scale with DD's MIL. Actually there are parts that are more like a horror story..... it is so sad & such an extra burden in the face of all of these other unknowns. I wouldn't begin to know how to explain the nature of her interactions over the past several days. And if I attempted to explain it, I might start a crying jag that would last till summer, cuz I've bottled lots up about this woman for years now.

Probably better for me to go back into denial and live with my rose colored glasses in my fairytale kingdom. Speaking of which, I did get the words: "Once upon a time...." painted onto the nursery wall this weekend. My hope is to paint the opposite wall with: "And they all lived happily ever after."

Well I feel there is great strength in this thread. We prayed Candie's meds into a reasonable solution. Those of you who are the praying type, please add this sorrow to your list for our angel friends to work on.

Gosh, didn't mean for this to be such a downer.... cuz there's soooo much thrillingly happy about this story. Just let me suffice it to say that I need you, this beach, "Friendship" from the Odd Couple, that pink mimosa and all of the other blessings tied up here by angels.

Gotta go get the machinery in motion for the day.

Big hugs, Faith!  Seems like whatever is going on...its not the appropriate time for drama.  I will keep your situation in my prayers.

I can't wait for our babies to get here...and to see loads of 'proud grandma' pictures of them.

Back from the o.b. office with today's update: All is well. Two strong heartbeats, well 3 if you count DD. Haha. She has actually lost 3 pounds in the last 5 days (due to the stress of nonsense referred to above.) She has not dialated (sp??) the first iota. Nothing. Zilch.

SOOOOOOOO. They've scheduled a c-section. Not sure if I should tell you dearies when?? and ruin the poll?? Someone's VERY close to the time they've chosen. Now, to see if the babes agree....... now we can fine-tune her DH's return from his Air Force training. Word has it that he will be allowed a week's leave.

Out of frustration there are glimmers of sheer delight. We stopped thru my warehouse to pick up inventory -- cuz I have another big weekend ahead. My step-son, who works there for my DH, went on a tirade in support of DD..... it was amazing. Seriously amazing! We've been married for 14 years and I guess it's taken this affront to his 'little sister' to articulate his appreciation of their unique bond. I've never heard him so eloquent with what 'family means to him.'

He kept calling himself the big brother.... which is a term I've never heard him use before. He seriously kept hugging her repeatedly, telling her it was all and only about her.

Knock me over with a feather.

Sorry to have monopolized today's sunshine with my story. I promise to return to being part of the team chatter. I will take clean up duty after the next b-b-q, for being so ego-centric. Know how much I am grateful for all your support.

The clock is really ticking now!!

WooHoo, our babies are coming soon!!!!  Glad DD is okay, Faith.....remember what I told you in the PM about MIL...............how nice that SS stood up for her also!  Family...........!!

Wanted to let you know that I received my package of goods today!!  I haven't listened to CD or watched DVD yet...........thought I'd better give it to my GD first!  However, the book is beautiful..............and you did the artwork also?!?!?!  Thank you for the special (trying not to use the word monogramming!).........signing to her!!

Hey to all.............Candie, hope you get your Heart Palp's under control and things start looking up for you.

Iris, Margo, Jas..................Hope all is well!

Oh yea..........went to the dentist for a teeth cleaning..........for me it's more like a 'crown' cleaning................the tooth that broke under the crown a few weeks ago isn't going to hold and the one next to it is wiggely too....so  I have a couple missing in the back of my mouth...........he said that the only thing to do was 'finally' put a 'partial' in............seems the bone loss is to much and a post won't hold the crown.................looks like the 'wonder drug' Femara did it's job on the teeth.............and I quit taking Fosamax cuz of possible dental problems!!!!!!!!!!!  The beast.....it just keeps on giving!

Only have a  minute - Faith, how exciting that the babies are coming.  Get the camera ready and now you know how to post really well.

Sahalie, the weather was absolutely awesome this weekend.  Windy today though - almost didn't go to the gym this afternoon - the car door kept wanting to slam shut but I was meeting a friend so I went.  Now I hurt but the class is a good one on Monday nights.  So when are you going to tell me where you live, or how far from me you live?  Weather is supposed to be cold tomorrow too and then get better again.

    Night all.

Hi and Happy Tue to all of you angels, bears,Beach Buddies! I hope that you have a great day!

Welcome, footprintsangel! I am Iris/bearlysane as I am a bear collector and have more bears than I do shelves these days!  Glad to see you here at the Beach Thread! You will find some super people that are very supportive!

Hi,Sahalie! Thank you so much for the kindness abt the pics! I love bright colors like yours and all of these on this thread. Hope that your day was good! Love the angel pic and it reminds me of a neat sampler with embroidery thread. Never will forget that word as I mispelled it and lost the spelling contest in a small Alabama county...not once but that would be two different times on the same word! Nothing like studying my spelling!

I know this has been on here before...just love the shimmery feeling! It feels magical in some way?

Margo, hope that your day was good.

The bear(in lavender)is called Harmony Exercise Bear and I thought of you.

She has the headset on like she is ready for working out. LOL Hope that Nancy is feeling stronger each day and tell her that we all think of her. I am  glad that your weekend was good and sounds busy. The weather just sounds fantastic!

    Good morning,

Iris, I just love the care bears.

Hope everyone has a great day. It's gonna be in the 60's here...ah,spring!! I have to go to Dr. today. The breast I had the cancer in is paining me lately. Sore and tender and under my arm too. I called onc...he said call surgeon...called surgeon...they couldn't give me appt til May 1st.So I am going to my pcp. she is great-very aggresive. If she thinks something should be done right away she will call surgeon or do whatever. Scared I am, but I have been procrastinating for about 2 weeks now...time to take a deep breath and have it checked. Say a prayer!!

Have a great day...see ya later on the beach.

    Hugs and prayers,

    Good Morning!

Hi to all of you...out in TV land or today's world--BluRay,DVD,mp3,CD,etc/

    All the angels,bear buddies,Beach Pals---have a great day!

I zoned-out before I could finish my post as that Ambien kicked-in! We had carpenters really hammering all morning yesterday starting at 7:30. So,last night,I was gone with the wind and the dreams!

Jasmine...Good Morning! Hope that the song will be coming later on as I look forward to that ea day. You are so talented remembering and matching details. Thank goodness for the iPods as that has saved my oldies. Had a Fleetwood Mac that died Sunday in my car. That is so sad as it had my faves. There is one abt I am gonna follow that I had a back-up on iPod. That is why I love uTube and iTunes as I can get those now on my Touch.

Candie...thinking all good thoughts for your appt. I am glad that your pcp is good and listens. That is the way my pcp is so smart and like a huge bear--but so quiet and gentle. I go to a walk-in clinic just because of him;a retired cardiologist. Here are some flowers for you...picked from my garden at Kroger...LOL! Wish I had a flower garden area besides the azaleas that the maintenance people hate.  All the best and lots of good vibes to you....

faith...wow,the dr does not realize we need "our little twins" this week. Three heartbeats sounds good...so sorry abt the MIL as I have zero experience other than observations from others. There are some wonderful ones and there are some who are certainly a challenge. My own paternal gmother was from the challenging category and tried...not that fun visiting when you are one of a herd as a child. Enouygh...had a wonderful gmother in Alabama who died when I was four. Great that Sarah got some great support from her stepb. Thinking of all of you and the room is sounding so enchanted. Are you sure that a middle-aged adult who likes children and books, should maybe move there? I am thinking that I would nev sleep just looking at all your creativity and beauty of the artwork!

Not skipping anyone and I will try to come back and talk after I get the Tue street trashcans done. We have these huge carts from the city just on Tues for pickups.

    Good morning beach lovelies.

Iris, I love love your shimmering pictures.

They are beautiful, especially the beach one.

I've never seen it before.  Also the walk with me on the beach one is so nice.

Are you still cleaning the house out like I am?

I am so proud of myself I can't believe it.

All the "stuff"  It feels so good to give a massive amount of it to the Good Will so other people can maybe use it.

I'm still not done and but have made a huge difference.

I have a floor guy coming to measure two of the bedrooms for new wood floors this week and get rid of the million year old carpet.

I can't even imagine what lingers in such old carpet even with vacuuming all the time.

Margaret, I live north of you in Marin/Sonoma county.

We also have a farm in the hills of Marin close to Pt. Reyes.

It was really windy in the hills the other day.  Did you read about the woman who was hit by a falling Redwood limb in the City?

It's beautiful here today but a bit cool this morning.  I love it.

Jasmine, it sounds like you are very busy at work.

Thank you for the invite by the way!

Faith, What's up beach babe?  Any babies to be announced yet?

We are all on 24 hour alert.

Hi Candie, Nice to see you and I hope you have a great day.

Welcome FootprintsDebbie.  Yes, the beach is our salvation and we love it.

You all know who I was saying "hello" too with the "Angel" a few posts up don't you?

Time to begin planning for a mid week adventure for all of us and I've heard a few of us are pretty sore from the wild jeep ride on the back roads with boulders so this week to relax the sore and screaming muscles we will go kayaking on the calm waters to the other side where we will be greeted by the beach boy crew who are treating us to a barbecue of smoked oysters, beer and fresh bread with fresh fruit.

We will sing around the campfire in the evening then will put on our head lights and kayak across the moon lit waters to our home beach.

There are plenty of kayaks so get ready to buckle up your vest, throw in your windbreaker, put on your flip flops, hat, shades, sunscreen and meet at our beach at 3:30PM Wednesday for the calm ride on top of the pristine waters.

    Maruruu~

Sahalie, your adventure for us sounds lovely.

    Iris, thanks for the flowers.

Went to pcp today-she is such a sweetheart--gave me a script for mammo and us. Gotta call for appt. She doesn't think it is anything, she thinks it is just from radiation and surgery. But doing the tests will confirm. I knew she would help me asap. Will do bone density as it had been 2 years since last one and then I can see has arimidex done a job on my bones. I feel better since I went to dr. today.

Hope you are all having a great day. Weather here is absolutely beautiful...the rest of the week will be also. Spring is here this week!!

    Hugs and prayers,

    Candie

Well my mood is so much brighter, with the anticipation of a kayak adventure tomorrow! It will certainly be a change from scraping the deep frost off of my car this morning!! My DH came over and took a stint of baby-watch to allow me to travel to one of my schools. It felt good to get some 'fresh air.' Nothing new to report, other than my SIL now has tickets home to us!! I think if my DD gives him a real hug, she will squeeze those babies into his very arms upon first sight -- she is soooooooooo excited that he's coming home!!!!

Thanks to everyone for your encouragement. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say, I couldn't have done this without you!! These little mopets are going to have so many cyber-aunties upon their arrival. SUCH a good thing.

Sahalie: Please continue to plan these glorious get-aways. They take me forward and they take me backward. Thinking of your kayak adventure reminded me of my great good fortune to have gone on a Boundary Waters Canoe Adventure back a long time ago (when your carpet was new -- a million years back: haha.)

Candie: so glad that you were able to get in right away for some doctoring. I know you'd just as soon stick your head under a rock, but I'm so glad that you were brave enough to confront your fears and seek insight.

nEEsie: I've been digging in the yard, but so far only have a very big ditch.... this place needs lots of landscape work! May need to get some heavy tools after all. SOOO glad that your package arrived safely. THANK YOU for your compliments on my artwork. My book really is/was continues to be a labor of love & I'm so happy that you and Angel badgered me into getting my site updated.

Wings: where are you sweetie? Last I remember you were headed off to some romantic luncheon with your DH. Did he kidnap you? Are you riding out west as I type? Remember you were going to get us organized to get more active. I'm counting on you.

Margaret: I saved the web address of the folks/guy who contributes original calligraphy for organizations that have outreach to children. I'll see if I can figure out how to post it here for next year's event. Keep up the great work that benefits so many. Hoping that all of your details continue to come together & make for a very successful event.

Iris: thank goodness that you're back and have gotten us marching along again. I love that you love Care Bears!! Never having met you, it still seems completely appropriate as I come to get to know you better. My MIL loved collecting beannie babies and had gotten quite a large collection. Her sons (including my DH of course) gave them away at her funeral to all of the children, young & old to take home that day. It was very touching.

Jaz: glad that you've got time for some beach frivolity in your otherwise busy work life. How do we manage when the storms keep you from posting our song for the day? Have you written a novel with all of your 'extra' time without the daily commute? It would be a best seller. Am putting my pink belt into a showcase, I'm so proud.

Angel: know that I'm sending you some love and appreciation for what you started here for us. We carry on with great admiration.

Divine: I hope that you are able to find your way back to us. We loved having your talents to offer encouragement. Don't let the pirates scare you away. Get a big whistle and call for the Beach Patrol -- they're so much better than the eye-patch squad.

Footprints: This is a WONDERFUL place to be!! Sahalie's always concocting rejuvinating adventures and we need someone who can organize afternoon frolics with her. I'm sorry for all of your recent losses and pray that you find healing and encouragent here from these gorgous images.

Janny: Haven't seen you for a while, but am so encouraged by your calm voice of experience. Your stories give me hope.

Amy: prayers as you contine making each day a treasure with your Noah's Ark of furry friends. What a delightful diversion from 'heavier' issues -- to have the care of your menagerie to keep you moving.

DebC: prayers for and your dear friends as you support each other thru such a challenging week. My heart is with you, even when my words fail me.

Friends from A to Z and back again. Sending you hugs.

I took this picture last summer up on Green Bay. The sky is so much "bluer" when you're on water. ENJOY!!

    Good morning,

Just a quick run to the beach...have to get ready for work. another beautiful here today...gonna bring my chair and sit outside lunchtime and read my book. Catch some sun and the same time and pretend I am on the beach.

Faith, I so didn't want to go to the Dr. yesterday. Took me about 2 weeks to do it. But as someone on these boards says.."I put my big girl panties on and dealt with it". That was a big step for me to go as I was so scared. Hopefully, pcp is right and there isn't anything wrong. How is DD today? So exciting to be waiting with you for the birth of the miracles!!

Neesie, I hate the dentist. And having teeth problems is the pits. I need to go to...just not in my budget right now. But I am glad you are taking care of your teeth.

Sahalie, I see you have been house cleaning. I have been weeding out...have a garage sale planned for May 10th. Neighbor and upstairs neighbor is joining me too. Hope I make some money...then I can go to garage sales and buy more...lol. I just love garage sales. I have found some good stuff at those.

Ok, beach buddies, have a great day. Hope you all have good weather. Hugs to all I did not mention. Gotta get ready or I will be late!!

    Hugs and prayers,

    Candie

    Margo...how is your sister?
