Hi all, a big IOS to all that need it and a huge thanks to all the laughs sent our way. Just the same old IOS for me like, irritating breast expanders, numbness in arm pits and being back to work is stressful, even though it is only part time.
HUGS to all and have a peaceful night and better tomorrow.

Good evening ladies, my ios isn't bc related but here goes. My son moved up to college today (I bawled on the way home for the first 10 miles) However, he doesn't have internet service yet and I know how much he relies on his laptop for communication with his girlfriend and such. (I just want to IM him and see him on web cam) It seems like yesterday that he started kindergarten! Oh well - on to bc issues - At the moment the only problem I seem to have is a pressure around my liver/gallbladder area. It seems constant and when I bend over it feels like my ribs are pushing in on it. There is no "pain" so to speak - damn I hate going to doctors. I haven't seen my pcp in over 2 years - He probably wants to know who this lady who got bc is and why he's getting copies of my labs and such. Traci, the 'Boys better get their act together. I'm more of a Mavericks fan myself. My ios aren't much ladies, but it's what I got. (today anyway!)
Hugs,
Trish
PS - my son does an excellent pig "oink" - That post totally made me laugh

I am taking my third and youngest son to college tomorrow. I know exactly how you feel. I have been doing this mom thing for 23 years and now what! I will say I appreciate that I am here and able to drop him at school. It is neat sharing in his excitement and we can only be happy for our boys. On to a new stage in life.

Hello and a big that sucks to everyone that needs one. This is your week-end friend checking in. My IOS is simple - work! '
Funny reading about our perspecitives on what avatars look like. I thought Tym's looked like a crying angel. But then some of you thought mine was a gorilla - ha.
Would love to chat - but time to hit the showers.

I wanted to RESTART a better eating and exercise plan today because I look and feel gross. Last night my husband brought me a box of Dots and a box of Krispy Kremes. How DARE he. b*stard. I guess I'll have to start it tomorrow. burp.
Here's a THAT SUCKS to any who need it today.

My gripe today is that I have to go back to work today, and I will be working all day tomorrow...
Sorry I don't have time to comment on all your IOS's, but believe me, THEY SUCK!!!
gsg,
Sorry your dh... and I don't mean dear husband is trying to sabotage your healthy diet and exercise plan.
I may be MIA for awhile, but will try to pop in occasionally during the weekend!

Traci -- Did you find Oink 101 on p. 114? Because I hesitate to move on to the Advanced Seminar in Clucking until people have fully mastered oink.
Deb -- Do you think it might help if you donned your wonderful hat/headdress when you go out? It won't help the double vision, but people might be less surprised by the potato spills etc. (Work it, sister, work it!) Crikey, but that doublevision must suck.
Sorry for all the IOS, folks. Special shout to Pam w/ hopes for an unspectacular biopsy and anyone going back to work.
My IOS: Energy and the lack thereof. A week after the last chemo and I'm still pretty darned wiped out but trying to get some energy back for next week's road trip with my little sis. Am going to a production of Hedwig & The Angry Inch tonight which won't get underway until 9:30 pm. I know it will wipe me out but I also know the crowd won't give a damn that I'm bald and eyebrow-less. Yet another reason I will always have a warm spot in my heart for the transgendered crowd.

Yeah, Otter - I agree with Sherri. Perhaps it's time to appeal your insurance's decision about the MRI. I could write a letter for you! Each one I've written to address insurance sh*t got reaults - fast. You think because I start by reminding them that I'm a 6'2" chic trained in martial arts?!?
Deb, I like the bubblewrap idea. Might make it really hard to pee, though...
Bonnie, hang in there! I know it doesn't seem like it now, but your chemo will soon be a memory. Still sucks though (feeling your pain, dude)...
Hanna, maybe Sue's hubby can teach your young ones how to oink and encourage them to join in when you start that online course again...
Traci, don't worry bout the 'Boys. If they beat no one else this year, they will most likely thoroughly warm the a$$es of Big Blue. They almost always do - I'm just talkin' trash like I was actually playing or something...
For all those with IOS today, find some 80's music (Public Enemy is my drug of choice today - "Shut 'em down! Shut 'em shut 'em down!") and play it nice and loud. At least it will make the suckage go away for a little while...

Hi All,
Deb, glad you are still posting. Good to hear from you.
I avoided an IOS today and I am so proud of myself. I went to Walgreens and although it is still only August, they are gearing up for October and BC month with a big display of pink ribbon sh*t. I started to walk over and see how much was really given to BC research and then remembered Felicia's post where she was in Wal-mart and kicked and yelled at Pink Ribbon display. I just laughed and walked away. I have thought about making up flyers asking people to "think before they pink" and listing REAL sites to which their donations will really help BC patients instead of lining the pockets of corporate america. That still may happen if I can get motivated. I can print off a hundred or so and paste them on displays. They would probably get torn down really quickly though. Maybe windshields would be a better deal. Any ideas?
Congrats on almost finishing your TC tomorrow, Sherri. It will soon be over. I know not quick enough. I have been chemo free for 5 months now! Whoo Hoo! I go for my final???? fill tomorrow. I thought it was supposed to be 2 weeks ago, but found out I had 550cc instead of 500cc expanders. That sucked big time. Really hurting all the time now. Soon....soon, this will be over.
I missed the oinking 101. Will have to go back and catch up.

gsg: I started my diet today. Came home and husband bought 2 canoli's for me cause they were on sale! Guess I will try and start tomorrow.0

Geez, I don't know where to start..dont' know where I ended.
Felicia, I'll be glad to loan you my dh to paint your toes. Just make sure he's wearing his glasses!
Sue, REALLY glad your scan was unchanged. Now I'll have to look up "granulomas."
Diane, I don't know if I responded to your doggie biscuits given to you by your UPS man. That was so sweet. I think the UPS guy just came and brought some lamps I ordered. I doubt there will be any presents on the box. I just hope I LIKE the darn lamps.
Otter, I can so appreciate about dense breast/s. Now A dense beast for me. I go to Duke for my mammos and other things. The tech did a digital. She said they just got this amazing new machine. I don't trust any of them. The MRI missed my 1 cm tumor after I had chemo..had neoadjuvant. Since they couldn't tell whether here was a tumor or not I opted for a mast. The tumors were in different quadrants of the breast...would not have been a "pretty" lumpectomy! Plus I had an insitu thingy. Hell, I'm 62. You'd think my denseness would be less. However, my brain has really gotten dense. I hope you're right about Arimidex. I've been on it for two years now. Sorry about your bone density. Geez, what more can one ask for. And cording? I've got that. I had it right after surgery. I have that fullness feeling under my armpit too. We can NEVER forget we had bc with all these little things that it gives back to us!
Hanna, loved your story about your "sea flower." I had a horrible thing to happen about three weeks after my first baby. We went to a Halloween party at a friend's house. Back then, in the old days, we'd dance right there in the living room. I was dancing with DH while dear baby girl slept. All of a sudden I felt warmness. I ran to the bathroom. I was horrified. I WAS HEMORRHAGING! I yelled for my friend (my dh was kind of upset because I didn't yell for him). While sitting on the toilet I delivered a huge looking clot! We called the ob/gyn. He said for me to stay in bed for 24 hours. Looking back I'm soooo glad he didn't tell me to go to the hospital. Anyway, the bleeding slowed WAAAAYYYYY down. I just needed that WHATEVER to be delivered. And the slacks I was wearing was wool. I had to throw them away! Hanna, girl, you are just too funny. I don't have time for "oinking" classes right now. I bet you're kids have the best time with you.
Rock, sorry about the D&C. It will NOT be bad news!
Bonnie, there WILL be an end to those treatments. And you can throw yourself a party. You will be SO happy! I promise!
Deb, you have the best sense of humor. Bubble wrap? LOL Lady, you can be dangerous with those carts. Next time have sis drive it FOR you.
Pam, did you say colonoscopy? One thing about it...you'll be good'n clean (inside)! So sorry that that "something" in the good breast is still making noise. We'll hope for B9!
Trish, you will learn to LOVE your freedom. Yes, I loved my three girls. Each time we dropped them off (well, one stayed home for college) it got easier. They start sprouting their wings. They'll fall along the way, but those wings begin expanding and you have the pleasure of witnessing a wonderful transformation!
Patrice, when you start a healthier eating plan can I come to your house? I can't seem to "get my act together" and do it myself. Oh, that belongs on your thread.
Harley, sorry you're having to go back to work. Uugghh! I need to get with you on your next trip to Wilmington.
Okay, my IOS...I've got to go clean some more. My dd called me last night and told me she and my two grandkids are coming Saturday. I can't wait to see them, But, I'm already tired! My dd and gd went to her kindergarten "Meet the Teacher" day. My gd is no longer a baby. She is growing up way to fast.
I just have to post this pic of my dd and gd from today's meeting with the teacher. It's taken from a cell phone, so the quality isn't great.

Daggone, I tried to resize this on photobucket. Don't know what I did wrong. I'll try to go pack to my pic on the puter and resize.

Shirley: What a great shot! They are BOTH cute. Your granddaughter looks like an absolute sweetheart. And you are welcome to come to my house to start a healthy eating plan. Day one, we'll sit out on the deck eating the red velvet cake that you're going to bring with you and we'll discuss how we're REALLY gonna start "tomorrow." (I'll make some ribs and cheesy twice baked potatoes) Please bring your hubby...my toes could use some work.
Nicki: Sounds like our husbands were cut from the same mold. Mine never eats...to add insult to injury. Canolis sound good...mmmm.
Harley: Try not to be MIA for too long. You're missed when you're gone!

Deb,
I didn't mention it, but I have one of those over-the-closet door shoe hangy things. The ones on the floor are "overflow".
**admits to having a shoe thang**
Love,

Sue, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your floor. I won't dare take a pic of mine.
I have a "thang" for shoes too. I finally got rid of several pair. I decided that I WAS NOT going to wear uncomfortable shoes anymore. Some were almost new. My dh can't stand it when I buy new shoes. I've been good this year. And, since I don't work outside the home I really don't need a gazillion pair of shoes.
YOU DID GOOD, GIRL!

Shirley- your daughter & gd look so lovely together. It hardly seems like (gasp!) 13 years since #1 went off to kindergarten. Now she's starting her senior year & #2 starts her sophomore year on the 3rd. It wasn't til they started middle school that I got all emotional - they'd been going off to child care since they were 3-4 months old, but somehow that MS thing got me all teary-eyed.
Had the biopsy this morning. It was the same radiologist from the 2 last year, so I think I was able to get a good read out of her. The spot was the same one bx last September, but it had gotten bigger & had more washout. She didn't seem too concerned, but did acknowledge that with my 'history' there's going to be more bx and more follow-ups than before. They wrapped me in a tube top - one very tight velcro-closing beauty in a delicate blue & white print. Gag. Usual warnings about bruises, hematomas, etc. Got the husband to take me to a French bakery after for a sandwich and a chocolate tart.
Looking around to see if there's a scale in the house. If I weigh myself right after the colonoscopy maybe I'll be at a weight I haven't been at for months. My #1 daughter is thrilled because husband's travel was postponed a week - he'll have the joy of taking me home after the procedure. Now I just have to convince people that I am not 50.
Shoes. The husband thinks I have too many. As if. He seems to think that one shouldn't have more shoes than can fit on the existing shelves. When his power tool collection follows that rule, I'll reconsider. One of the damn dogs peed on my foot and one shoe while we were camping. Sure, it was a camping shoe, but it was a many years-old Josef Seibel that had worn to exactly fit my foot. If it means a new pair, so be it. (yes, I have camping shoes, and work shoes, and home shoes, and painting shoes......)
Cannolis. Red Velvet cake. Ribs. Screw the diet.
When I went to the Ob to find out about the ever-present period and was dx with Adenomyosis, one of her questions was did I have clots. Um, yeah, doesn't everyone? Like sea flowers. PERFECT description - it shall be stored in the memory bank for future use. Stories. I have stories (and a complete change of clothes at work.) HX is starting to sound good.
Dang, Felicia - 6'2" martial arts whiz? You'd scare the crap out of any insurance weenie. Sounds like a second career to me.
Have a great evening, all. Keep the suckiness to a minimum.

Patrice, your way of dieting sounds wonderful to me. We'll start next week. LOL I didn't take the pic of dd and gd. They live too far away. LOL I have to make a confession. Even though little girls AND boys look so sweet....they can be a MESS sometimes. Their mama's working on undoing whatever was done in the first place. Those poor children get more things taken away from them when they misbehave. One day Hannah was really acting up. They were here visiting (just my dd and gks..no Daddy). We were going out to buy Grant (gs) a pair of shoes. DD told gd if you don't stop doing (whatever) you're going to stay with Pawpaw. Well, darn if she didn't keep screwing up. It broke my heart (and her mom's heart) that she ended up having to stay home with mean Pawpaw. Let me tell ya something. Those kids are MUCH better for their PawPaw. Hannah tells db, Grant, PawPaw's not like Mommy and Daddy. He means business.
Traci, you're laptop is "too funny!" Actually, it's YOU that's too funny!
Hanna, as usual you're cracking me up. I need some help in learning how to "Ruf, Ruf." Or is it, "Wuf, Wuf?" The pig story...haha...I would have loved to have seen that!
Well, I guess I better get my hiney to bed. More cleaning tomorrow.
Shirley

Shirley, your lady kinfolk are simply gorgeous! Aren't you blessed!
Deb, thanks for poking your head in! It's always good to see you.
Nice closet floor.... my closet is small, so I don't feel guilty about the floor being MIA.
gsg, I'm going on your diet...
Okay, I have to go back to see if I can tell what Rock's avatar is....
So glad tomorrow is Friday... now off to bed!

I'd like to vacation in Sue's closet.
0 -
In the "guess Rock's avatar" contest, I will say a city skyline through a chain-link fence.....but remember I'm only using one eye....LOL
0 -
What is this thing of which you speak called "closet"? Do you mean "bedroom"?
Hanna: When I was little, we used to send our city cousins into the middle of the hog lot w/ two metal buckets. We'd tell them to bang the buckets to scare the hogs away. In reality, the hogs associated the clang of buckets with being fed and would run as fast as their hooves would carry them to greet my cousins. (Another oldie but goodie: "The electric fence won't shock you if your hands are wet...") Hanna, perhaps we could co-teach the seminar on clucking?
My avatar is a fence at Coney Island. Note: The fence and I have the same # of eyelashes.
Colonoscopies, biopsies -- is there ANY good medical procedure that isn't an IOS? Any that involves a half hour in a hot tub? Or a neck massage?
Traci, your interest in Oink 101 is quite touching. I'll re-post it.
0 -
Oink 101 (a review for those who missed it the first time)
Hanna -- I am in agreement with your son on his Bow Wow point. But as someone who grew up on a farm outside the middle of nowhere outside a town of 500... let me suggest that while it is true, full-grown hogs really don't oink, piglets kinda DO go oink. The thing is you gotta produce the oink in the back of your throat to make it sound real. If folks don't mind a little unsolicited Oink 101: pretend you are going to say "nnnnnnnnn" and then say "oink oink oink" (or really "nk nk nk") as far back in your throat as you can instead -- see? It's a far more authentic sound than is usually rendered.

You guys have forced me to wear depends.

The pristine closet and ensuing shoe lovin' confessions made me smile! Last night we had dinner at the house where a young friend was dogsitting.Naturally we toured the lovely big house, where there is a closet devoted to shoes.
Manolos, Jimmy Choos, Ferragamos, Chanels~~~I forgot to see what size they were. Must have been the fit of jealousy? Only consolation is that I have MORE shoes, just not that price point! (Or any price point near them!) Too bad I've been out very little to wear any of them this summer,
IOS!!!
Hugs to all who need them, especially Alaska Deb!

People, I'm prob going to scale back my presence on these boards. Turns out that more than one of my friends from my "regular" life has been tracking my comments here unbeknownst to me. It just weirds me out too much. (Though it is my own damned fault for using the same name for my blog and my username here; turns up in google searches. My own damned stupid fault. But shame on them for prying.)
I'll still check in. But I think Oink 101 is as good note as any to leave on, right?!

Bye... I'll try to post more later... If I don't collapse from being so tired at the end of the day!! It's raining here, so I guess it will be busy at the store!Harley
