KAK!  THAT SUX!  BUT....can I be the FIRST to get a ride in that new car?  AND DEAR!  How can you tell us this whole story and leave out the best details....which are...WHAT KIND of car did you splurge on?  Geepers lady, that's what I want to know anyway! :D

Seriously sorry you had to get a new car, but hey....its a great excuse to not have to go shoppign with all the crazies out there shopping!  Man, drove to town this afternoon, and people are being just freaking crazy the way they are driving.  Like they are the ONLY ones on the road. Seriously dangerous with inches of snow on the ground and the state trucks off the road b/c of the economy!

Glad you driving safe these days :)  Just let me know when to be ready for that ride, K? :)

See, Wish?   I'm still flummoxed from the whole thing!  I bought a 2009 Saturn Aura, sport sedan, seafoam blue with pearl gray interior.  Comes with, among other more pedestrian things, one year of free OnStar, one year of free satellite radio with the AM/FM/CD/Ipod/MP3-ready player, lots of computer info about how far I'll get on the gas in the tank, how the tires are, whether I need oil, how much mileage I'm getting this instant.  Keyless entry & free Lojack.  A driver's seat that adjusts up & down as well as to & fro.  Airbags everywhere you can have airbags.  Good mileage, 33 highway.  It's a Camry equivalent.  Like a Chevy Malibu also, I'm told.  They started a hybrid one this year, but its mileage rating is not much better than the XE I got, so I'll wait till they get better before buying a hybrid from Saturn.

Also, the Saturn & Cadillac divisions of GM are the ones that have been continuing to do well (I have it on good authority) & will still be in business no matter what.  GM may have to fold Chevy into Pontiac.  And they are definitely getting rid of the @#$%& Hummers, thank god!   Dumb-a** idea in the first place, selling those to civilians!

Wish, maybe AFTER the winter, I'll head up your way & give you that ride.  How 'bout it?

Kathi -- Ah, the memories your story brings back.  My Toyota Corolla died on Christmas Eve, 1987 on 95S at 6:30 am.  A trooper stopped and called a tow truck. I gave the tow guy all the cash I had (ATMs were not as available back then). The only food I had in my apartment was a bag of white rice and some curry powder.  Good times, good times.

Does anyone know how AlaskaDeb is doing? She has been on my mind so much lately.

No, was just thinking about her too, ROCK.  Are you the one that had spoken to her dh?  Dang its hard to not get updates, but I'm sure they are busy too. Hopefully as he said last time, no news is good news?

KAK, I'll be holding you to that Maybe, K? :)  Would love to have you!

I'll have to do a search on your car.  Speaking of caddy's, mine is an old 1981 deville.  REALLY OLD!  I was just thinking the poor thing is nearly 19 years and just starting to show some wear and tear inside and out.  SHe's got some rust! OH NO!  and the leather is starting to show those cracks in the seats :(  Poor old girl...might be her last winter with us....ha!  My wish....we won't be able to afford another vehicle for some time I'm sure!

Saw the car....not your color, but the car in every other color! :(  Figures huh.  Pretty little thing.  Sounds like fun to drive.  Someone to talk to rather you have someone in the car with you or not! LOL  Don't you love the new fangdangles they've added.  A lot of those the caddy has and it's nice to be reminded of things that need to be done, as long as the car doens't yell it at you! :D

Good luck with this one, may you enjoy a long and fun time together!

Pam - I have low bp, too.  The last time I was in the hospital it was 87/40.  They thought I was dying.  It's not that low right now, but it has been running about 100/50.  I haven't been testing it at home, but I think it might be getting lower, because every time I bend down and then stand back up, I get dizzy.

As for Christmas cards,. I don't have the energy this year.  I have never been so tired in m entire life.

Pam and Jane, mine is doing just the opposite :(  Pre-BC it was 90/50 normally.  Since sometime after BC dx, my heartrate has been over 110 most often and this last week at the onco f/u, the nurse said my b/p was 128/110 or some such thing.  He was concerned about that and the lost of more weight, but nothing more was said to the doc, I don't think. and I forgot to ask.

Try to mention it to your nurse, especially if like you Jane, you are having dizziness when bending over.  That's not good at all.  i had that with chemo, but not otherwise.

Sux to go through this crap, all of it!

    WhaSux Sistas??

For all the unaddressed pain, colds, dead cars, & sucky family stuff--I feel your pain! I must admit that since my first chemo over 8 years ago I only recall having one or 2 colds! But those were lalapaloozas!!! My old van is over 125K & I'm beginning to feel adventurous when I take it out of town.....and family crap is about to fry my butt! I have a looney tunes sister that I may have mentioned here in the past....anyway she REALLY burned my cork today & the worst thing about it was that I came home & couldn't get into the mood to put up the big tree as we'd planned! ...dh finally talked me into it by saying HE wanted it up! But really--if I didn't decorate I don't think any one else here would give a bah humbug--they all do it for ME..or so I've been told. BTW--anyone who doesn't want to "do Christmas" doesn't have to- I do enough for 3 or 4 families so I got ya covered!

Top off my minor complaints with VERY dry & cracked looking toes-I'm worried the xeloda is going to take a turn with se's! I have been using the 25% urea cream, but have added a huge slather of bag balm inside my socks in the AM---think it might be working, but I may have to replace all the socks I own! Sure feels like I'm walking in the mud all day too! No truly valid IOS's for now!

You all be well & stay strong--that SUX! to all who need it.............

Thanks for taking up my slack in decorating Saint.  For that I am GRATEFUL! :D I called dd tonight and asked if she wanted the fake tree, or one from out back. She and her 2 male roomies are going to decide when I get back and get one or the other. Havent' told her yet, but I'm planning on being there for Christmas this year since most likely dh won't be home but working :(  I might even help decorate her house! :D

Sorry about your feet :(  Sounds horrible :(  I was lucky and didn't have problems b/c I didn't do the T's this winter, but surely felt for the ladies who do have problems.  You need those feet. Have you ever tried something called cetaphil between times?  There is a cream that works really well, and not so gummy :)  Just a thought!

Big sux, but glad you dont' have other ios's to write about :)

I will decorate over the next week-not as much as the old days, but don't you worry- I got your quota covered! If I impress myself I will post a few pix for ya to claim as your own! LOL

Ok, I tried reading but 5:34 am is just to early and even though my body wants to fight sleep my eyes aren't!  For all you with car problems so sorry to hear it.  If you are on the eastern coast near the PA area I know my brother would help any of you out trying to find a decent used car that you don't get ripped off on or finding a repari for your vehicle that is fair.  heck he calls the poeple out here in ohio and chews them out if they overestimate car prices.  So that is one thing he is good at and will help any woman out in need.  He likes to make everyone think he is sweet.  BARF!!!!  LOL  Anyway, need to try and sleep again or I am going to be so exhausted tomorrow and I have alot of plans of things I want tonde.

    Wish,

You know if I could, I'd come over and give you a ride to your TV u/s today!  Oh, and I'd bring that dang SNOW shovel, too!!   ;-)

I feel for you, dear, 'cause I just HATE those TS u/s!!!

Good luck with your  drinking 32 gallons of water (It FEELS like 32 gallons!),  and getting your car out of the driveway!  I just HATE it when the snow plow comes by and blocks the driveway with all that SNOW!!!

    HUGS

    Harley

P S  please let us know when you find out the results!!  I'm praying you get good results!!!

Well, 2 things....Oh, BTW, thanks for the offer to come give me a ride, Harley! LOL  I cleaned of the car and grabbed the shovel and started with a cough from the exertion....so danged out shape and in the cold..............well, I did mention that 32 oz! LOL I coughed once, bent over thinking I was going to pee my pants in the drive and thought WTH am I doing?  Jumped in the car, and rammed through the smallest area of snow chunks I could find! THANK YOU LORD!  The snow wasn't frozen and I drove through it!  Whooheeee!  When I came back though, I had to go down and follow my tracks in b/c I was I was afraid that I'd get 1/2 way in and get stuck. Normally when it's going to snow now, I back in so I can get a running start!  Not so for next time, or I'd have filled the exhaust with those piles....Hopefully we don't get anymore, but if we do, I'm stuck here till dh gets home! LOL

The TV/US....??? for anyone? Harley?  That's had this test?  Last time the endo was 2.0 mm, this time it's 4+ mm.....under 4-5 is normal for post meno....so my ? is.....is this normal to get larger after it's shrunk?  Or is this a problem?  I'm imagining the docs orders will be to get another in 6 mons which won't make me happy at ALL!

BTW....Harley or anyone needign this test....I talked to the tech (same girl as last time) and asked if we could turn the cover inside out on the wand(it's a plastic baggie material, but the seams tore me up last time, b/c I'm so dry and tender from chemo/arimidex/menopause)  She said, I don't know why not, so she handed it to me to try and dang it all! IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM!  NO PAIN!  NO bleeding after, NOTHING!  Whoooweeeeeeeeee!  TRY IT!  You'll like it! :D

Okay the last item is, I AM NOT traveling north!  JUST will NOT risk life/limb to get to a funeral.  We dont' need 2 in our family this year :(  My dearly departed duncle will have to suffice it with the family at hand.  Feel bad, b/c I know it's for the family, not him, but darn it.....I'm just not going to try.  MY sister has all wheel subura....little different in snow than this old caddy.  Anyway..I'm sitting tight and will just add some prayers tomorrow at the right time.

So....I'm here...and trying to dry off and warm up....of course, I refused to dig out the boots the 1st of dec, so my tennies are soaked! LOL

THANKS FELECIA~  I'm thinking it went well! :D

Neeliecar,  Have you tried Elavil or Gabapentin for your nerve pain? Maybe worth a try to talk to your Doctor about. Pain for that long sucks.

Sue,  Glad that all of your scans were clear.

Wish,  This snow reminds me of last winter, Snow, Snow and more Snow. We only had 7 months of No Snow.

I also saw the young and skinny Harrison Ford on TV the other night and I said the same thing to my DH. We were young and skinny back then too.

    Wish,

I'm glad you made it out  through the snow covered road!  I'm glad that the wand was more comfortable this time.  I also HATE those things!!

No, I don't know why you would go from 2 mm to 4 mm, but I would hope that if you stay in the NORMAL range, maybe they won't have to do another TV u/s in 6 months!   I am going to keep my fingers crossed that your dr. will say that unless you have more se's, you can leave well enough alone.

Thanks Harley :)  My neighbor came over tonight to say he'd dig out the end of the drive with his tractor tomorrow as he's home for the day.  I hope it's not frozen by then, but it's already below freezing.  I have to be at work at 9 since I'm not going to the funeral, so we'll see how that goes. IF I can through that path I made today, I should be okay, but the car rides low, so we'll see :(

As for the 4mm, not sure how that works, but I'm hoping as you do, that I never have to another! :D

Oh, god, wish, it's not bad enough you have to have this Machiavellian test (how do they think up these bleeping things anyway?) but you have to drive through all that snow??  Yuk!  I'll tell ya, don't know how good the new car will be in snow, but if I have one problem with it, I'm gonna get snow tires.  Got 'em for my last car & it was like night & day driving the thing with snow tires.  Better than those so-called all-weather tires.   Bless your neighbor!  And you're right -- no need to risk life & limb to go to a funeral in bad weather.  I did that once - drove to Connecticut from RI in February & had to deal with fog AND black ice on the way home.  Thought I would die for sure.

My IOS for today is that a friend of mine who's like a surrogate mom to me calls me up tonight & starts yammering at me about an art opening she went to yesterday for an art association we both belong to.  I didn't go because I work on Sundays seeing patients for the Visiting Nurses, which she knows.  Anyway, she starts baiting me with odd comments, like how one of our friends was "just telling everybody you had breast cancer," to which I pointed out that this was sort of old news now because I've told most of my artist friends about it myself.  Then she wants to know if I'm ever going to an opening anymore & I said I didn't really know & that it wasn't really one of my priorities right now.  That my first priority right now was taking care of myself.  And she says, "Aren't you finished yet?"

Things that make you go Hmmmm..........didn't even know what to say to that one.

Did you ask if she was taking notes? OR if she would like a weekly update on your progress for her 'friends'?  Geesh!  That's ONE reason I am soooooooooooo glad I couldn't make it to the funeral. Havne't seen a lot of relatives since my dx and most have never contacted me, so I was really NOT looking forward to the hair and health comments/questions! :D

    SUX HUH? :(

Has anyone else had an experience like this one?

An old friend of mine took a major dislike to me a few years ago.  No explanations, she just made it clear to our other friends that she did care for me.  To make matters worse, we also worked for the same company.  She took every possible opportunity to belittle me in front of anyone and everyone.  I felt like I was in Junior High School again.  I must admit that my feelings were hurt but what could I do?  My husband and I moved our office home about the time all this was going on and I haven't seen her since.  Sad thing is....I really liked her.

Long story short, I just found out that she moved in down the street from us and has been posting messages on my web site saying that if I ever needed anything I should send my husband down to get her.  My husband is a well liked guy and she always had a crush on him.  She's divorced.

I'm a forgiving person but now way on God's green earth am I going to let her act like nothing has ever happened.  Must people think that if you have breast cancer it's a death sentence so she is either 1) looking for forgiveness or 2) wants my husband.  I know when I see her I will just smile like nothing has happened and I'll hate myself later for doing that.

    Any suggestion?

Yeah....I'd post on your site that you would love to have her down for coffee.  THen on your terms and homefront, ask her what you did that upset so much 3 years ago, that caused the rift?  That puts the ball in her court, but on your turf.

SUX, but better to be up front and cordial and get to the bottom of it, so you aren't stressing for it :)

OMG! I am trying so hard to calm down and if it weren't that I'm so wired, I'd have a drink...still might!

I woke up an hour ago to go potty (or so I thought), noticed the light on the front of the house, but it's a motion light and figured a cat or someone had turned it on....so I went pee, come out and walk over the window to see which cat, rabbit, or what had come through, and here stands a young man, looking in my car windows and trying the doors.  I about Sh*T!  STepped back, ran in my room, grabbed my phone and dialed 911. I was so flustered, I could bearly remember my freaking name trying to tell the officer, this guy is breaking into my car.  I go to other room to grab a robe and when I come back, HE"S GONE!!!!!!!!! I look out the front bay up and down the street, see no one!  I panicked! Looked at the feet prints (THANK YOU LORD FOR THAT SNOW I GRIPING ABOUT!) and see one set coming in from the street, and none leaving.  I start checking the back door and while I'm talking the cop, start to hyperventilate, b/c this guy's been to all the doors and windows!  OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!  Then the dispatch says they've got officers in the area and on their way...yeah right!  He says to stay by the phone in case I need to update, or they need to call me. Like where will I be?  OUt for a drink? I WISH!
