    *************Wish, what is a TV/US? A transvestite ultrasound?    Miss S  ;-)**************

Miss S!  You are hysterical! :D It took till this morning, reading back to realize what you really wrote there! LOL  It's a transvaginal if you haven't gotten that from the explanation from Pam and the dildo cam! Oh my!  How do you explain such things to your 80 y/o mother!  I just don't even bring it up!  But....there you have it.  A digital dildo....and yes....isn't it amazing that a person can come up with a digital dildo, but not something more gentle to test our breasts!  Has to be another man behind that one! :(

So....another IOS...I would think with all of these IOS's, this should be my last this week.  My uncle died this morning.  Long running bout of dimentia over the years from a stroke and then failing over the last few months greatly to where he was in a medical home.  Just sad that it had to be on a holiday weekend.  My own father died 20 years ago this new years eve morning and It's going to be hard on my cousins I'm sure as this was their favorite holiday with him.  Big feast gathering family rather than ours was always christmas.  anyway..... a prayer for his soul and the family left to mourn.

Stay safe anyone traveling this weekend.  Looks like I'll be on the roads now with my sister as she comes through from cleveland.  Man, this just SUX being on the road in this weather heading north in michigan.  The mecca will be started tomorrow for those heading up to the ski/mobile hills I'm sure! :(  UGH I hate traveling on holiday weekend in michigan!

Bonnie, if I drank, now would be the time, but the {{hug}} is most always accepted! Thanks.

WhaSux? As Roseanne Rosanna Dana always said, "It's always something!"

Wish--WIshIcouldhelp!  I'll do an Opposote-of-snow-dance for ya! BIG hugs---you keep me LOL inspite of your IOS's

Renee---you had me howling. Sometimes when things like that happened to me I felt like I was on the outside looking in & wondered what others thought that I didn't loose it -- ppl just don't get us sometimes, but doesn't that just make it funnier?! BIG HUGS

My SOI--I have had a DUH-moment----after over 4 years of mets & tx & se's my NOT having any bad stuff right now should be considered encouragement to others --that if we stick it out there will be more good times!!!!!...yeah, I'm slow-it's the chemo! that's my story & I'm sticking with it! LOL

Gotta get to the humane society---hugs to everyone & THAT SUX to all who need it! Be well & stay strong

Holy man, I'm dumber than a box of rox, or someone is in that conversation, b/c how did we get here?  I think I do need that drink now! Must be 5 o'clock somewhere!  Geepers....

Hoping all is well in your respective lands of suckiness...

My bitch for the day: my students are driving me crazy! We are a week and a half away from the final exam and they still look at me like I'm speaking a language they don't understand when I ask them the same question I've asked at the beginning of every freaking lecture period since the semester started: What's going on in the world? (see, they are COLLEGE Journalism students who are required to read a newspaper or catch a TV or radio news broadcast every day. That way, they'll know what's going on and be able to comment about it sensibly. In theory, anyway...)

Sensing how pissed off I was, one student sheepishly raised her hand and proceeded to talk about some story she heard on Madonna and A-Rod on the way to class. Seriously, what freaking sites/stations are they catching this stuff on?!? But wait, it gets better: nobody knew anything about anything else! Not the economy, not any new Obama appointees - nothing! WTF?!? I mean, really, WTF!! Mind you, these are not freshmen just "learning" how to go to school; the majority are junior media majors in a writing-intensive (LOL!) communications program. Only about three can write a decent lead (beginning paragraph of a news story), which is beyond sad. If they couldn't do the work or the course was just moving too fast, I'd understand, but that isn't the case. Most of them are just too lazy to keep up with the basic course requirements and seem content just to do the bare minimum (show the hell up every Tuesday and Thursday morning) and eek by. You think the three F's, two D's and slew of C's (the highest grade was a B-) I gave for midterm grades would have clued them in, but it hasn't. GRRR - I just want to scream!! Perhaps I'll make one final effort to help them "get it" by changing the final exam to one question about current events and grade it pass/fail. Mwhhhaaaaaaaa!

Sigh. I'm so not feeling lazt-butt students right now...

Yep, apathy rears it's ugly head!  And to think we are only 2 weeks away from the biggest and most important election of the times and this is where their heads are at?  Up their wazoos!  Even the drugged up hippies had more sense in some areas than the kids of today.

Oh my!  I sound like someone I once knew....much older, male, oh my!  My father! LOL

I'm sorry to hear of everyone's IOS today and hope all turns out to be SOI by the end of the day for the holiday weekend.

Wish - my father passed away in 2001 and this year the day falls on Thanksgiving.  The holiday becomes a little sad (he did an AWSOME dinner!), but with his recipes that were passedon and fond memories of the holiday, it becomes better.

My IOS today - posted a question on another thread - no answer - I'm just looking for advice and no one has responded to it and it's a little disconcerting.  Anyway maybe my onc's PA will call me back (left msg on Thursday!)  Is it me or am I just a flipping wallflower that no one likes and wants to talk to?! - OK vent over

    Gentle Hugs,

    Trish

{{Trish}} what was your question? Is it the one you deleted on the burning lump?  Sorry you received no response :(  Can't help, b/c I've no idea either, but perhaps someone here can :)

And yes, after 20 years we do celebrate Christmas, but that one in 1988 with dad in the hospital, knowing he was dying is never far from our minds either.  Christmas was his holiday....he loved it with everyone home.

    Wish,

My father's death was unexpected - he had a AAA (abdominal auortic anyerism - sp) that was not able to be fixed in time.

yes it was the one I deleted.  I figured that since no one responded, it shouldn't take up space.  I'll paste it in here and see what happens.

"I have a question that needs to be posed to those in the know.  I have a spot inside my breast (good one) that started to hurt last week.  It only hurts when pressed and the pain is a sharp pain and it has a burning sensation that lasts for 1- 2 seconds.  I only found it because I was leaning over from a sitting position to pick something up off the floor under my chair and my breast rested on my thigh.  I about came unglued, it hurt so suddenly and unexpectedly.  I am a small breasted gal (A cup - get my drift) so I thought maybe I had a bruise or something. No, pain is still there and stays the same.  If anyone can fill me in on if they had a similar experience and what they found out it was/is, I would appreciate it immensely!"

Trish, I'm sorry you had no responses. Sometimes I find it takes a good while before someone happens by who has anything of a remotely similar experience and is a poster, not a lurker. Or if it slides off the 'active topics' first page (which it can do rapidly if it's a busy time of day) it won't get seen by many many potential responders.

That said, I'd do the old 2-3 week rule: if it hasn't gone away in 2 weeks go in to your doctor. You've already been dealing with it for a week, so probably call for an appointment soon. However, in my non-professional, distant-diagnostic mode I'd think you have a good chance it is a lymph node that is doing its job. A non-cancer job. The fact that it is tender only to pressure and goes away promptly is symptomatic of a node. You have them all over in there, behind there, and around there. Have you had a low-grade sinus infection, cold, cough, scratchy throat, or generalized ICK lately?

Also, now leave it alone!  Wink

I'm sure you are checking it and pressing it off and on, over and over each day. Stop it. It may take 24 hours or more of your tying your hands behind your back, but I think you've got a really really good chance that this worry will morph into a tremendous relief.

    Lisa  <----chatty this morning, aren't I?

Lisa - be chatty all you want!

I appreciate your insight.  Sometimes those who have been in the medical "system" know more that the professionals (IMHO).  Although it is not a lump per se, it does hurt only when I press on it (and yes I've been trying to keep my hands off myself Surprised!)  It is a sharp pain at first then it sorta burns - do infected lymph nodes do that?

I guess once bitten, majorly shy huh!

    Gentle hugs!

Wish, glad you noticed what I said and thought it was funny.... I was beginning to worry about being inappropriate with you while you're having a rough time! Of course you know I love you!

Trish, my dad died right before Thanksgiving several years ago and I still miss him, too!

Bonnie, have fun with the baby!

    Late for work.... gotta run.

    Love to all,

    Miss S

Trish, do you  have a call into the onc or breast surgeon to have it checked otu?  As Lisa said try not to touch it too much because it can bruise the area.  I am overly cautious when it comes to breast lumps and link to have them looked into first.  Most things are B9 and I am sure your's will be too but it really helps to have someone in the medical profession to tell you that before calming down.

SOI:  ultrasound shows nothing.  EKG was normal.   Now the IOS -  wait for surgery on Dec 5.  I found out I am not supposed to drive for a week after - lump and sentinel node biopsy.   After the 9 a.m. US, ekg and blood work, I played bridge, then did a grocery store run.   2 Days before Thanksgiving, at least 10 people in each line and only 2 cashiers and no self serve line.   OH, also got my flu shot at drug store mini clinic next to grocery store.   Whew, I am tired.

For those who need it for dead cars, snow, absentee spouses, and the other IOS I cannot remember, THAT SUCKS.   Happy Thanksgiving if I dont get on here before.    HUGS,  Nancy
