Oh Shoot Saint!  Dang it all!  Can they at least brace it so it won't fracture worse?  Man, Roseann was right!  I laugh every time I say that name (dbros's new beau is Roseanne) and I honestly have a hard time saying her name when she is around or not, b/c she looks a lot like her! :D

BUT IT DOES SUX.  Wishing you reduced pain and healing, as well as Rubyred! :(

LuAnn, yes I well remember those winters growing up when our hills were taller than our here and we'd dig out the middle of them to make forts! WHAT FUN!  Igloos without all the hauling! For some reason our parents HATED IT when we'd make one of the entrances unto the roadside! :D  Parents, always a with worrying! LOL

NANCY!  EXCELLENT NEWS!  Whhhoooohoooo! Celebration time!  YEAH!!!

Thank you  (((( ladies )))))))  --  I am happy dancing also, but also freaking out over seeing 2 mice run across the floor while I was watching TV....   I left a message for the apartment manager, giving them until noon tomorrow to get someone over here with poison or I will call the Health Department and the Building Inspector.

One of the other residents had mice and they put poison all over, even on top of the kitchen cabinets and she has had none since.   Two glue traps are not doing the trick and I am so made I could spit.   To top it off, my son gave me a 3000 piece jigsaw puzzle and I decided to start on it.  As I was sitting there, a mouse ran across the table and over the puzzle pieces.  Mouse germs  all over.... So, in the garbage it goes.    Tomorrow it means more clorox and rubber gloves - just the way to start a Monday morning.    My kitchen counter is bare except for Mr. Coffee machine and I wonder if it is also contaminated...

Thanks for letting me vent... I have a broom sitting next to me just in case one of the critters dares come near me again...

Man, I'd be giving them the costs for the puzzle and all those cleaning supplies and gloves too! Sorry you are dealing with this.  I've heard when they are in one apartment, they go through walls to another when they are chased out :(  Hate vermin!

On a grander note, I'm just tickled you are feeling so happy to dance happily into the new year! :D YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!! again!

Nancy - what great, terrific, wonderful news!

I often wish I had pictures of my dear Nana standing in the middle of her bed, broom in hand, waiting for the mouse to show.

Thanks wish.   I am exhausted trying to keep everything sanitized now.   I should send them a hefty bill for the things I threw out.   I wash the dishes before I use them, and the pots and silverware and glasses...   what a pain in the butt and I am still tender from the surgery last week.  And cannot lift more than 5 pounds at a time.   I should hire someone to come in and sanitize and send the bill...

This too will pass, but I am just so PO.   thanks again for listening.

Hm....maybe when you call them tomorrow explain just that.  That you may have to hire someone to come in to disenfect your kitchen b/c of this and you've had surgery and can't do it, so you'll be sending them a bill for the cleaning fee too!

Make me so mad.  Dd is going through some crap with her landlord over the drains being poor in the rental she's in.  No reason for the continuing problems.  I'm hoping she can move out soon and when she does, I WILL BE calling the health department pronto!  Make me ill, what landlords can get away with :(

I am so happy to be in an apt bldg that gets sprayed annually and has no vermin problem (other than the other tenants).  I am so sick of turkey and we have so much of it left.......

Now for a word on behalf of the mice....I had pet mice growing up & I watched them wash themselves like a cat; they only used one area of the cage as their outhouse & were good mothers....in further defense of the wee rodents--think back to pioneer days & earlier--everyone just lived together for generations! LOLOL & don't say they carry plague--that was rats! (Now is the time to speak up all you rat lovers!!0 To further my empathy for the critters I am currently reading The Tale of Despereuax!

.......Sorry it is such a problem! I don't like them much outside cages either!! LOL

Movie suggestion: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button----one of the best movies I've seen in years!!!!!

    Be well & stay strong

Saint, I had hamsters growing up (one at a time, lol), so I know what you're talking about. On the other hand, my grandma had a serious rodent problem when she left her apartment and moved into the nursing home. So I did what any sane woman would do: I called an exterminator...

He told me that mice may be anal about cleaning, but they have no bladders and tend to go on the fly. That in itself made me want to fire bomb the place and buy grandma all new clothes. Sorry you are dealing with all this, Nancy - especially after such good news. Can you get a cat?

"...Benjamin Button" was good! "Seven Pounds" was ok, too. Next up: Tom Cruise's new flick...

Is there nothing left that won't happen to me?  After my fall last week, now I have cellulitis in my right leg.  I went to the ER today and got a Rx for an antibiotic, but now I am running a fever.  I am hoping that the antibiotic will kick in overnight so I don't end up back in the hospital like I was in October.  It just never stops.

What suxs gals?  Benjamin Buttons is worth seeing?  Good to know. How about Marley and Me?   I know how the book ends and don't think I could stop crying if I started.   I usually wait for rentals as I am too cheap to go to movies.  Don't waste time on Burn after Reading....best part was the chair Clooney created - damn would love to have one!

    Hi girls!!!!!!!!!

Maria....great pic and so awesome to put a face with a name!!!! So sory you are going thru so much crap though. ((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))

OMG................so much to catch up on. I'm sorry for everybody going thru crap.

    Felicia....what's up??? ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((Saint))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

I didn't take the time to make notes....I'm sorry girls. I just got out ot the car after a long, long,  vacation. It was awsome though. For those of you used to snow....I'm sure that sucks. I actually had a white Christmas and loved it. Isn't it funny......

We went to Keystone in CO and my BIL and NIL went sking while my sis and I shopped. (not) It was so beautiful there. For those of you who know the area we went on the Loveland Pass.....for those of you who don't...that means we drove literally in...and up.....the snowy mountains and it was a sight to see....Heaven on Earth.....it was so beautiful.

In my second life, I'm going to travel. I couldn't believe how beautiful New Mexico and Colorado were.......I'm 42 and really, have never been anywhere. Until now!!

I love you girls. I'm glad to be home.

I'm gonna surf the site for a bit.

Geeze Louise!!  I have NEVER, EVER had a mouse in any house I owned...until today!!!  My mother saw it scurry across the livingroom carpet and the chase was on!  Not one of my five fat cats, however!

When I located the little critter, I put my biggest cat right next to mousie before he ever saw it!  And once he grabbed it, I put them both out in the snow, thinking puss would finish it off, but, no, puss left mousie, half-dead, and took off in the opposite direction!  Fer cripes sake, I couldn't just leave the wee thing struggling in the snow.  And, I sure couldn't do him in myself, so I brought out another cat to finish the deed.  She never even glanced at the mouse, but took off after the first kitty!

So now, I have two always-inside-cats disappearing around the house and a suffering mousie at my feet.  Crap.  By this time, my daughter came outside, grabbed the mouse by the tail and threw him in the river behind the house, thereby ending the drama once and for all!  Except for rounding up the two useless, escape cats.

I NEVER thought I'd have a rodent "tale" to tell, but I think there must be something to all these stories...we're being taken over by terrorists in mousie clothing!!

Hi ladies:   THAT SUCKS, for your health problems and other things going the wrong way.   I am still battling the mice situation, but they are sending the exterminator with poison bags today.   I threatened to call the health department.   Maintenance plugged and caulked holes behind the stove, in the closets, and along the base boards.  Then they send one of the house keepers over to sanitize my kitchen counters, stove, outside cupboards and floor.  Even she was gagging as she found "droppings"...     They also agreed to remiburse me for all the things I had to throw out: toaster, coffee maker, dish drainer, and various food items, and the 3000 piece jigsaw puzzIe I was working on when a mouse ran across the table.

I will admit that pet mice may be ok, but after googling - I have to say that wild or house mice are a totally different thing.  They carry virus, bacteria, and can have mites.  If desperate enough, they will bite people and can cause  mite infestations in clothing and bedding.   They like to chew electrical wiring and that can cause a fire or it can shock a person using an appliance.  And they reproduce at an alarming rate.

Enough of the science lesson for the day.   I hope this week brings good news for each of you and that weather and health issues take a break for the new year.   HUGS,  Nancy

Mice can also be an intermediate host for tapeworm, so if you have a cat (or dog) and she's (he's) eaten a mouse it's time to deworm.

Good luck with the exterminator Nancy
